Dana Terrace should make an Owl House comic series. She'll be able to do all those side adventures she wanted to do, more character development, we'll get the beach episode, and we won't get (What I'm guessing will be) a rushed ending.

Piracy/physical media has always been more ethical then whatever the fuck streaming services have been doing. It gives shows a chance to be alive outside of whatever company is producing it. It gives pieces of media a safe place that won’t have to worry about corrupt ceos trying to write off shows for tax Benifs. Here’s a list of shows that have been affected by corporate greed rn
- The Amazing World Of Gumball
- Steven universe
- Chowder
- We bare bears
- Regular show
- Powerpuff girls (2016 reboot)
- Ben 10 (2016 reboot)
All these shows have just been removed from their main streaming platform, HBOmax. Hulu has all these shows luckily but it’s still insane to me how these popular shows can be taken away in a second. The reason these shows were taken down was probably cause of the recent bundle with Disney, Hulu, and HBOmax, but HBOmax was suppose to be the main place for Cartoon Network, also hulu dosent have all of Steven universe either, which is a whole entire diff issue at hand. On the FRONT PAGE of the Cartoon Network website it was reading how you should watch their cartoons on HBOmax!!
What the fuck man 😭😭 we barley even got any warning or explanation as to why she’s shows have been canceled!! This is stupid as hell idk please pirate these shows and please boost the importance of physical materials/copies because you never know which company is about to axe over your favorite show!
#Fandom stuff#UGHHH#Cartoon Network#Steven universe#regular show#we bare bears#SU#the amazing world of gumball#tawog#Chowder#powerpuff girls#Ben 10#piracy#still stream brand new shows if u can tho cause usually those rely on ratings tk actually be picked up for more episodes

ROUND 1A MATCH 13
Propaganda
The Owl House: gay. that was all that was submitted. my friend wrote the rest of this: the owl house is possibly one of the greatest modern cartoons of today. while it's mainly known for its incredible queer representation, it doesn't stop at simple surface level representation, but it dives deeper into it through the setting of the boiling isles, which, while it is queer-friendly, has fascism deeply entrenched into it, restricting its people into boxes of magic, limiting them to keep them under the emperor's iron fist. it's queer allegory at its finest, not simply pushing down homophobia, but rather deconstructing the very systems of box-building that keep queer people pushed to the margins of society for simply daring to be different. and that's only the beginning. the show is often praised for its representation outside of queerness, such as representation of different body types and races, and especially disabilities and family structures. overall, the show is simply a celebration of being different, and rising up against the systems that punish you for being different. this message spread to the meta too, with disney cancelling the queerest show it had ever had for not being appropriate for its brand, but the show making the most of its limited circumstances and delivering an incredibly beautiful story anyhow. the owl house is amazing and you should watch it. also gay
Community: Truly the sitcom of all time. It's genuinely really well written and funny, while also having amazing characters that actually grow as people. It managed to survive having it's original writer leave the show, nearly being cancelled multiple times, and going to yahoo tv, all while still being funnier than most sitcoms I've seen. It's incredibly creative, and I can genuinely count on one hand the number of flop episodes over six seasons. Community forever!!!, oh my god. oh my fucking god. this show. it’s the best. ever. of all time

I'll Never Forgive Netflix For This
They canceled Kaos after one season.
Now, to be fair, we had been evaluating the number of streaming services we paid for and were planning on canceling Netflix already, so I can't honestly tell you, dear reader, that our decision to cancel Netflix was solely based on the fact that they canceled Kaos after one season, but it sure as shit didn't convince me to stay.
I get that people have feelings about Joss Whedon these days, but not since Fox canceled Firefly have I been this outraged at a decision to cancel a show. I don't know- as it seems like streaming services cancel shows left and right these days, but man when Hollywood is struggling and the firehouse of streaming content is delivering way more quantity than quality, I don't get how you dump a show this damn good!
It doesn't help that I am a mythology nerd. I devoured old Penguin classics on 'Heroes and Legends of Greek Mythology', and I read The Illiad and The Odyssey (multiple versions, but the Emily Wilson translation of The Odyssey is gorgeous-- her translation of The Illiad is on my shelf now) at an absurdly young age. This shit is my jam. I love this. If you are making a movie or a television show about mythology, I'm going to judge the fuck out of it.
(Parenthetical Time: Disney's Hercules is an abomination and I loathe it. Hades was never the bad guy. Troy with Brad Pitt was god-awful, but Troy: Fall of A City on Netflix was an incredibly good adaptation of The Illiad. I know everyone just loves Hercules The Legendary Journeys and Kevin Sorbo these days, but that show also did a really great job with the mythology of it all. Also, shout out to Madeline Miller for The Song of Achilles and Circe, both incredible, amazing books.)
All of that being said: Kaos was the best modern adaptation of Greek mythology that I have ever seen and unforgivably, they ended this show on one hell of a cliffhanger.
The story opens with Zeus (Jeff Goldblum in a bit of serendipitously perfect casting) ruling over a modern Greek world, where mortals are expected to pay frequent homage to him. An Olympia Day monument is vandalized in Krete and he becomes convinced that people are not paying him sufficient respect. He notices a small wrinkle and suspects that's aging (something that shouldn't happen to an immortal) and worries that it represents a line from a prophecy he was given by the Fates.
Dionysus (Nabhaan Rizwan) visits, hoping for more divine responsibilities, and when Zeus rebuffs him and Hera (Janet McTeer) sneers at him, he leaves, but not before stealing Zeus' watch. Zeus goes so far as to summon Prometheus (Stephen Dillane) to seek assurance that his prophecy will not come to pass.
Meanwhile, the mortal Eurydice (Aurora Perrineau) meets Cassandra (Billie Piper) who tells her that today is the day she will leave her husband Orpheus (Killian Scott) because she has fallen out of love with him. She goes to visit her mother, a Tacita Priestess of Hera's (Michelle Greenidge) who reminds her of her prophecy. It's the same as Zeus', which shouldn't be possible, but on her way home, she's hit by a semi and killed. A heartbroken Orpheus tries to commit suicide to follow her to the underworld, but Dionysus tells him there's a way for the two of them to be reunited again.
And from there, this show takes off! We find out about Ari and King Minos, and what happened to her brother Glaucus. The Trojans are here too-- refugees from the fall of their city. Riddy thinks she can pass through The Frame in the underworld, only to find that she can't, because Orpheus stole her coin and she's got to work 200 years before she can pass through and be Renewed. She meets Caeneus who, as it turns out, has the same prophecy as her and Zeus, and little by little, we find out that Prometheus has waited patiently for a chance to take down Zeus and he's not the only one then just when we're setting up for one hell of a cliff hanger with Zeus bleeding, the Meander fountain, the source of the Gods' immortality stops flowing and Hera leaves for an unknown destination, telling one of her children to 'gather the troops' and Ari strikes a deal with the Trojans against the Gods themselves.
And then, Netflix canceled the show.
I cannot tell you how awesome this show turned out to be. Joe McGann shows up as a one-eyed bartender named Polyphemus-- the name of his bar? The Cave. Suzy Eddie Izzard shows up as one of the Fates, Lachesis. Debi Mazar is an excellent Medusa. David Thewlis is Hardes, Cliff Curtis is Poseidon this cast is awesome! From Jeff Goldblum on down it's all just so goddamn amazing. The storylines, adapted from the original myths are updated so intelligently for a modern setting. But it's really the bickering, back-biting, scheming Deities themselves that this show absolutely nails. Hera is mean. Zeus is a tyrant. It's just all so perfect!
Overall: This show deserves at least one more season to finish the story and the internet was rightfully outraged that it was cancelled. As am I. My Grade: **** out of ****

I read this today and many thoughts came to mind so yeah this is another rambling.
'til this day I don't get over the fact that only last year we had the Last Season of The Owl House, the rushed end of one of the greatest series of the decade, that could have mark a new course for many series yet to come, the spiritual successor of another of the greatest series of all Gravity Falls.
The Owl House was released in 2020 just four years ago and it was cancelled in 2022, two years ago, presumable cause it had too much representation for Disney's taste.
This is obviousley not confirm, but everyone in the industry and Dana Terrace herself had made clear that this was the main reason.
All this just 2 years ago, many like to say we live in a time were LGBT+ community had all the representation they need, that everything is gay now days and and that this excess of representation is becoming tedious. And then this is a case from fucking 2 years ago.
It just so sickening, to think that yeah we have representation nowdays but it has to be a certain tipe of rep, it can not be too much, in the Owl House I think there was just one straight couple in the main cast, it has not to be too on the nose, gods forbid for the main character to be gay, lesbian, bi or the non existent trans representation, and it cannot be normal, if you are gay it has to be your main trait, your whole life, you have to have like many crisis as you can and have a whole out of the closet episode, it has to be the revelation of the century.
I still remeber Alex Hirsch puteando a Disney cause they didn't let him do many things he wanted with his own serie, among them the relationship betweenm the two town sheriffs, one of the cutest things in the show, and very funny too.
Alex Hirsch has always been very vocal about he's own despite for Disney as a creator that work for them. And thats why I love him.
I still remeber cartoon network forbidding Rebecca Sugar to say that the Gems were womans, cause that would imply that all the gems were lesbians and that was a totally No No for fricking Cartoon Network, the one everyone point when saying is only Disney the non inclusive one.
(why they never bring this back? what is wrong with Steven Universe?)
Though this end like a tiro en la culata which means backfire cause suddenly the gems were non binary or no gender which was fricking funny cause even more hard to explain XD
This also happened with Adventure Time, another Cartoon serie, were everyone was lost whith the Bublegum and Marcy kiss in the last episode, cause we were told they had a relationship in fricking Season 3 but no, they didn't tell explicitly that they were in a romantic relationship, cause you know... lesbian equal bad.
Their relationship keep getting explore and we had amazing episodes with this two navigating their feelings for each other, the past mistakes in their relationship and how to become better together. But all this while not telling us that they love each other, cause they weren't allow to tell us.
This is merely frustration on my part, I know we have better represantation nowdays, but... is not nearly enough, like I said, theres still close to non rep for ace or trans people, bisexual are getting better, though the rep still is plagued of horrible stereotype and fetization, but this is something lesbian and gays can have manage to avoid yet so what we expect.
So yeah we should celebrate our representation, and not let anyone tell us that is enough or too much, cause til this day the best ace representation I have seen comes from Todd from Bojack Horseman a serie from 2014 that ended in 2020, that set the bar and none had even try to fight, I hope Alastor become a better rep in this front, I really hope so. Lilith made an absolute great work, but sadley cause the serie was cut out we missed a lot of this character T^T
And Im not gonna talk about trans rep cause that's just sad.
I will always hold resentment to Disney cause of what they did to the Owl House, for sure, that something I hold near my heart everyday.
So yeah I totally use this persons post to talk about me me me, and I dont know them so prefer not to involve them in this.
And if you dont notice I keep this Animation Series only, cause theres too many series and I have not watch nearly enough, I know thers some with really good rep and others that are lit hot shit. So yeah the world is wild and full of shit.
Adventure Time 2010-2018
Gravity Falls 2012-2016
Steven Universe 2013-2019
Bojack Horseman 2014-2020
The Owl House 2020-2023
#...#okey I just read a post and suddenly all this came out of my mind#i just need to vent#no need to reading all this shit#this about The Owl House#about representation#about a lot of things#and this is not really about Hazbin Hotel#which is funny cause the original post it is XD#so yeah#just thinking#like always sorry for any misspelling or if you dont get anything

Star Wars audiobooks! I've been restless for new Star Wars since Andor ended. Been going through a handful of Disney era and Legends novels over the last few months. I have enough reactions to get down into an actual post. Mostly I'm just going to be foaming at the mouth over Marc Thompson and Sam Witwer's narration and falling over myself about the characters. I have listened to: Dark Disciple, Last Shot, Disney Thrawn trilogy, Heir to the Empire, Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter. Lots of these books I liked, some of them I didn't but the narration and characters are still amazing. Motherfucking MARA JADE. Asajj Ventress!!!!!!!! I have no rational mind about Maul and I am one of those feral stick figures chewing on Thrawn. Hnnghh.
First of all, let me start with Marc Thompson. He's been doing the audiobooks for years and years now. Here’s a great intro where he’s talking about the differences of doing character voices and learning the importance of bringing the right dynamic to the prose. He slips so seamlessly into his Star Wars voices reel, ahaha.
youtube
Here is a really cute Lip Sync Battle where Marc Thompson will say a line and then have a fan lip sync the same line back at the camera. His energy, his energy I love it so much. Everyone is having SO MUCH FUN. There’s also a cameo by Star Wars author Christie Golden in this video. Super cute.
youtube
First book:
Dark Disciple - Christie Golden Narrated by Marc Thompson
Alright I actually had picked this up ages go from my library and never read it but since I’ve been on an audiobook kick, Marc Thompson got me goin’ with alllll his voices.
I love Asajj Ventress so I was pretty much guaranteed to enjoy something from this book. Apparently it was written based on some unfinished scripts for an arc that would have happened if the show didn’t get cancelled. Knowing this makes a lot more sense with regards to the pacing and I think I would have preferred the animated episodic for this since I think a lot of the early Quinlan and Asajj stuff dragged a little too much. However I did appreciate getting more of a deeper dive in Asajj’s head and it really made me want to go digging through AO3 for some amazing character studies that I know must exist at this point.
But yeah, I didn’t think I’d enjoy the eventual romance between Asajj and Quinlan but Quinlan was such a perfect set-up for a fall from the Jedi Order. I think I’m just really easy when it comes to whumping the fuck out of Jedi with torture and their own emotional repression.
I was really into all the Dathomir scenes and the history of Asajj with her sisters being touched upon again and how she managed to not “go crazy from the dark side” because of the balance she found because she was a Nightsister.
A++ for Asajj having to go to Boba fucking Fett to mount a rescue mission inside a fake heist.
Really I think I’m just so easy for murdery women with a rage boner. Fuck Dooku.
Marc Thompson’s narration was a delight and I definitely would recommend this for anyone who enjoyed The Clone Wars series and wanted to get a little more Asajj screen time. Here’s a scene where someone pulled Clone Wars clips and put Dark Disciple audio underneath. Marc Thompson bringing incredible Dooku subservience and Sidious danger, hhhngh.
youtube
7/10, would listen to again even though I'd rather see the finished episodes.
Last Shot (A Han and Lando Novel) - Daniel Jose Older Narrated by Marc Thompson, Daniel Jose Older and January LaVoy
This book was extremely disappointing. Normally I am a fan of seeing fan-favorites have their mid-life crises but I was extremely bored and over with Older’s take on Han having an existential crisis of who he was as a father an husband in this post-Empire world. Lando on the other hand, was having a crisis of genuinely having fallen in love and not knowing how to handle that. I fucking loved that.
This book had multiple timelines and jumped around a lot and I don’t know if I just wasn’t focused enough while listening but the timeline jumps were jarring and incomprehensible at times. The action plot ended up being rather unsatisfying.
It was also very jarring to have three narrators for the different timelines and I kind of feel bad because I went and looked and Older’s narration is just consistently getting panned across all reviewers—and for good reason. Thompson and LaVoy are experienced voice actors and with Older in the middle, Older just seems slapdash in his reading. If it was just Older all the way through I might have been more forgiving but going back and forth with everyone… it really was painful at times.
It was a slog to get through this book, really. What I actually really enjoyed was all the original characters: an Ewok slicer, a nonbinary hot shot pilot, and Lando’s love of his life whose name is slipping my mind even now, agh. I wasn’t fan of the villain character, unfortunately, and it was a bit of a letdown that the action plot was just… I don’t know, boring. It was a riff on transhumanism except with droids and a bit of droid supremacy to it and I was just... tired by it.
Marc Thompson was KILLING it tho. His performances always fucking delight me. January LaVoy’s narration of Lando and L-3 were also really great even though I just wasn’t into the scenes themselves.
3/10 - do not recommend, HOWEVER I would read fic about the lady ewok hacker Peekpa.
Darth Maul: Shadow hunter By Michael Reeves Narrated by SAM WITWER
I am, as the fannish parlance goes, Not Normal about Maul or Sam Witwer's performance as Maul.
This novel takes place just before the events of The Phantom Menace and it’s a Star Wars story that is very, very narrow in scope. The stakes are still very high because someone has gained information about the Trade Federation’s impending blockade and Sidious sends Maul to go and take care of it. The whole story takes place in the underbelly of Coruscant and I gotta say, it’s really refreshing after going through a bunch of Star Wars shows, books and films where it’s all galactic hopping whirlwind stuff to have that's in one place and happening in a short amount of time. I think it's something like 2 or 3 days that all the events happen.
Michael Reeves is a man of deep characterization and creates an amazing sense of place in the Black Sun alley of Corusant. We get very little Sidious and Maul interaction but what bits we do get are fascinating and haunting. I do like the ‘less is more’ approach here with these two...although I will say I’m not sure I would have picked up this book if I hadn’t gone through The Clone Wars and lost my goddamn mind over Sam Witwer’s portrayal of Maul.
And his performance here. In this book. I don’t know what it is about Witwer but when he does Maul my brain just lights up in a way that I haven’t really gotten outside of live theater performances. He brings this sense of ruthlessness and competence to Maul, his gleeful rage and oscillating mania as he ends up tracking an information broker and Jedi Padawan. Oh, Witwer is truly just. Fucking amazing, okay.
I would love this book even if it wasn’t Witwer narrating it but my god he elevates it to a whole new level. I got my copy from the library but it is immediately on my to-buy list once I can buy books again.
Michael Reeves also wrote for Batman the Animated series and Gargoyles which makes a whole lot of sense in the way he’s able to just create such lush sensory detail of place and people, oh holy fuck. He’s the writer who wrote the Gargoyles episode about Broadway accidentally shooting Elisa with her gun (this is an episode that got pulled from airing and I don’t think they have on Disney+ right now). Aw man, alright I definitely need to read more of his stuff now.
The action plot is Lorn Pavan is a down-on-his-luck fellow who got information he shouldn’t have and he is trying to sell it, Darsha the Jedi Padawan gets sent down to bring in a Black Sun informant and things go tits up for her in horrible ways. Darsha and Lorn’s paths collide and they try to survive Maul. I love everything about these characters, except for the end where Lorn started having romantic feelings about the Padawan. Blech.
Also somehow I think I-5 is now my second favorite droid character I’ve come across in the greater Star Wars canon (Chopper will always be my #1 grumpy cat droid). Witwer has the best dry delivery for the droid character. Like. It’s so fucking GOOD.
I’m also impossibly impressed and obsessed with Witwer’s performance of Sidious and the Jedi Council. His Qui-Gon is SO FUCKING GOOD. His Palaptine has my teeth rattling in my head oh my god.
Here’s the first 5 or so minutes of Shadow Hunter, hhnngh. You get Maul, Sidious a drunk Lorn Pavan, and my new droid bestie I-5:
youtube
I am 100% going to be reading Michael Reeves’ other Star Wars novels. Apparently he has a series that follows a Jedi-in-hiding post-Order 66 and I want to just dunk my head in all the Star Wars noir, I guess, yes please.
10/10 - I love, would heartily recommend to anyone wanting a kind of story that’s more heavy on character and setting and also SAM WITWER!!!!!!!!! Maul. Hnnghghghgh.
TIMOTHY ZAHN TIME.
Thrawn Trilogy (Disney era) Thrawn, Thrawn Alliances, Thrawn Treason Narrated by Marc Thompson
youtube
This was my second time through the Disney novels. I watched Star Wars Rebels first, then my friend jb_slasher told me about Thrawn having novels. I had vaguely heard of Heir to the Empire over the years and also my friend recommended the Disney trilogy so I figured I’d start with that since I was diving off from Disney canon anyway.
My god I love this trilogy so fuckin’ much. Marc Thompson out here nailing it. This Thrawn is the type of character who is always the smartest person in the room and I should get irritated by that like all the other characters but mmmm, I have a competence kink. And I am just over the moon with how he instills loyally and allegiance in his crew who can now have a commander who is not interested in politicking his way through things but actually is committed to strategy and whatnot.
Also fucking Zahn made Thrawn go back to space college. And gave him a little protege who he grew to admire. Eli Vanto is a great character, I am reading a lot of slash about them obviously but yeah, I loved seeing his growth throughout the trilogy. And THRAWN ALLIANCE. Y’all. Y’all. The Star Wars memes about Thrawn and Darth Vader and Anakin Skywalker are AMAZING and really do the hilarity so much justice. Here's a fantastic book trailer cut together with Marc Thompson' narration, hnngh.
youtube
This man absolutely knows who Darth Vader is and Darth Vader is like “oh fuck no you don’t.” And when Thrawn had met Anakin during the Clone Wars and Anakin had to try and work together with him? Perfection. Bonus Padme getting to be a ridiculous and foolish badass when she goes looking for trouble. And also her also having a competence kink for Thrawn, too. It cracks me the fuck uuuuuup, okay.
Thrawn absolutely hates politics so fucking much and I love to see how that is the primary way he gets thwarted or has to build his strategy around. Because people are fucking assholes and political everywhere. Seriously, have I mentioned how much I love Marc Thompson??
youtube
Thrawn Treason gave us more of Thrawn’s people and whatnot with the Chiss which I also liked but I’m really less interested in their motivations and experiences as a culture on the edge of the Empire. More here for Vanto now getting to be the fish-out-of-water and leveling up and getting all the respect he deserves.
MARC THOMPSON, y’all. He does a great Thrawn, an AMAZING whinybaby sycophant Ronan of the Starkiller Project, and his Eli Vanto Space Yokel intonation is 💋. Also I feel like the loyalty and trust that Thrawn earns from his subordinates really feeds into this praise kink thing that everyone develops by being around him. I love it.
10/10 will lose my mind and listen/read this trilogy again and also read all the fanfic about it.
Heir to the Empire Timothy Zahn
I am sorry it took me 30 years to get here but I AM NOW HERE FOR MARA JADE’S RAGE BONER. Let me repeat: MARA. JADE. !!!!!!!!!
Also holy fuck. Luke Skywalker getting to be smart, technically creative and able to navigate through terrible situations in spite of a Force-Blocking Macguffin is AMAZING. I was not expecting to be this into a post-Empire Luke but I really fucking loved it.
I also love all of the Han and Lando scenes in this (WAY MORE than Last Shot, sorry Daniel Jose Older).
Leia and Chewie!! On Kashyyk!! Talon Karrde was so great (Thompson made him kind of sound like Antonio Banderas??)
Thrawn and his bestie Pelleaon! What a fascinating dynamic.
I actually was not very into Thrawn’s vibes in this book as much as I was in the Disney stuff. I don’t know if it’s because of the vibes they wrote him in Star Wars rebels that got filtered back into Zahn’s take on him for the books (or if it was the other way around?) - Like, the calculating tactical and man of strategy is still there, but… hm, I’ve been struggling to articulate what about it that didn’t tickle me as much. He’s still playing the long game in every situation but I don’t know… I think there’s this more pragmatic view of people he has in the Disney books that he doesn’t get here in the first of this trilogy. I haven’t gotten to the other two books from this series yet so maybe I’ll feel differently later. The anniversary edition of the audiobook that I got from my library was narrated by Marc Thompson and he (you'll be so surprised) fucking nailed it all for me. Love love love.
10/10 timothy zahn, I love you. You got an amazing way of writing action. I gotta read more of your stuff. Anyway, I'm also starting the Ahsoka novella that I think (??) is not quite canon anymore since they got a final season for Clone Wars, but it's by E.K. Johnston and narrated by Ahoska's voice actor Ashley Eckstein. Don't have enough thoughts about it yet but I love Ahsoka so I'm sure I'll have a decent time.

Hi.... If you don't mind me asking, can I ask, what are your top 10 (or top 7) favorite media (can be books/ manga/ anime/movies/tv series/games/etc) and your top 10 favorite characters from any media ? Why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this questions before or if I accidentally send this ask twice.....
Hi! Sorry I'm super super bad at managing my inbox but I am finally answering you, so sorry it took so long!! pls forgive me
as far as media goes, i dont have a rank order or anything really but here are 10 pieces of media i really enjoy:
i wouldnt say these are my top 10, but just some i really love
fruits basket (anime) - most ive ever cried watching anything. watched this during my last year of high school during the peak of college application season and it altered my brain chemistry forever. i will never be the same
assassination classroom (anime) - watched it in middle school and therefore formed a deep and unhealthy obsession with it, also karma is THAT BITCH. amazing show. also so like oddly sad
new girl (tv) - my favorite television show OF ALL TIME
how to get away with murder (tv) - my favorite televison drama show OF ALL TIME
always sunny (tv) - still watching this one but i LOVE it, shows about fucked up horrible people are my favorite, also i really love and admire their writing style and i really want to embody it on a show someday. definitely a huge writing inspiration for me
arrested development seasons 1-3 (tv) (i liked 4 and 5 but 1-3 are incredible) - again, a show about incredibly terrible people, and also really fucking funny in a weird way. and super clever. i love it
sherlock (tv) - i LOVE murder mysteries so so much. also theyre super gay which is fun
soul eater (anime) - my first anime ever, will love it forever
penguins of madagascar (movie) - i am unironically saying this, i am not fucking with you, this is my favorite animated movie
saturday night live (tv) - a classic. i haven't really traversed past the 21st century but i watch it every weekend without fail.
a special eleventh is A.P. Bio, amazing show never should've been cancelled. objectively i can completely understand why it was canceled bc there wasn't anything really objectively special about it, but by god do i love that show anyway. i rewatch it all the time
honorable mentions: on my block, sex education, the office, community, one day at a time (2017), how i met your mother, parks and rec, disney XD's lab rats (also unironically. great show.)
As for characters:
This is so so hard I've read/watched so so many things, I'm just gonna name the first ten freaks that pop into my head, but in no particular rank order and im definitely forgetting people:
bakugou (bnha) bc obviously. my entire blog is like a shrine to him. i don't need to justify this choice tbh he's the absolute best
chimney (911) he is SOOO me coded and he deserves the world and i think he's deeply underappreciated so i shall appreciate him myself. underappreciated comic relief characters my beloved
schmidt from new girl. my boy. my king. THE #1 MASTER OF CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. i love him so so much
chandler from friends .... extremely self explanatory (also, see chimney. very similar reasons)
kyo (fruits basket) he means a lot to me. i wish him all the best in life although tbh he did canonically win in life so go him
connor walsh (how to get away with murder) i LOVE him. so much. he's so fucked up but i think hes done nothing wrong ever
death the kid (soul eater) LOVE OF MY LIFE. ABSOLUTE ICON
chang (community) maybe its just cause i love ken jeong but i love this little fucked up mentally ill freak. he's so fucking funny
phil dunphy (modern family) - no explanation needed. he's awesome. i love him a lot he gives me faith in family
every other main character in new girl. i love them all so much
honorable mentions: annalise keating (htgawm), ochako uraraka (bnha), bobby nash (911), dwight schrute (the office), and probably many many more amazing characters who i simply am forgetting
i also really fuck with the grandma from fresh off the boat
#thanks for asking <3#this was so hard#it took me like an hour#now i need to go back to writing my english paper lol#this was fun even though it was so hard lol

I hate people who tell me “if you think you won’t like it just don’t watch it” like WOW you are a GENIUS how would the world go on without you and that glorious big brain of yours ???
Like SHUT THE FUCK UP SHUT UP SHUT UP if you tell me that after you just saw a whole rant I left talking about how live actions make it seem like animation is not a valid medium for telling adult stories and how they usually end up butchering the og material and you tell me “just don’t watch it” I am literally hoping that you burn in hell.
There was vid on tiktok, some guy updating us on the cast and what’s going on with the How To Train Your Dragon live action, so I left a string of comments talking about how I had been really hoping this movie was going to be cancelled because I’m tired of the live action remakes of already beautiful movies and that even with most of the voice acting cast returning to reprise their roles and the director who directed the 3 og films coming back, I still don’t have high hopes for this movie.
I said that I loved the og films since I was literally 5 and that this will never measure up. And with the track record we have for live action remakes I think that’s a valid feeling to have. I said that not everything needs to be live action and I hate that it’s such a big thing in the industry right now because it makes it look like they don’t appreciate animation as a important medium that can tell adult and children’s stories and the live actions are never able to recapture the magic that was the og movie and Disney has proved that to us over and over again.
AND THEN TWO FUCKING DUMBASSES REPLY TO ME TELLING ME TO JUST NOT WATCH IT ????
I know, that not everyone is on the same level. People have different interest, not everyone cares about the movies and shows and books they consume. Not everyone cares about whatever is going on in the film industry if it doesn’t pertain to their favorite actors. But how do you read my comments and then just tell me the solution is for me to just not watch the movie ???? Like of FUCKING COURSE I’m going to watch the movie when it comes out. And I’m going to watch it because I care about the series? I’m going to watch it because this series is important to me and even with my low expectations I’m still holding out a little bit hope that this movie will manage to pull a Cinderella and add something to the original that it didn’t have before (even though I think that will be really hard considering the og is amazing and I don’t really think you can add something to make it even better).
So yah. If you read this and decide to tell me “don’t watch the movie” just know I am going to snipe you after you lay down and discover that I put shit in your pillow.
#how to train your dragon#httyd#httyd 1#httyd 2#httyd 3#httyd the hidden world#httyd hiccup#httyd astrid#and yes I do have problems with Astrid’s casting but I will wait until the movie comes out to talk about that because I think judging it#before hand is a little unfair to Nico because I saw her in tlou and thought she was amazing#but I do think this is different than casting Halle for Ariel because while Ariel is a mermaid who doesn’t exist Astrid belongs to an#actual culture even if that culture is one that belongs to a white skinned race. also I think films need to make original poc characters#instead of just giving out hand me downs because that’s not fair to poc#stoick the vast#httyd stoick#httyd gobber#toothless#hiccup and toothless#hiccup haddock#hiccup how to train your dragon#astrid hofferson#gobber the belch#dreamworks animation#dreamworks#httyd live action

Vent post: A lot people and big companies ruin things I love so much, I'm going write down a lot things down. Call of Duty, Littlebigplant, MCU, Wander Over Yonder, Payday, Evil Dead show, Dead by Daylight, and Scream.
First greedy companies, Activision, Disney, and Spyglass media they have been making horrible products and business moves. Pretty much every single skin in Cod is 20$, Modern Warfare 3 (2023) is just a 70$ DLC! Disney has such great potential to be one of the best story tellers but no they only care about the money. Spyglass killed the Scream franchises in ONE FUCKING DAY! Starbreeze, Overkill, and Deep Silver destroyed beloved series just because they wanted a quick buck.
Companies canceling shows before they can finish their stories. Wander Over Yonder and Evil Dead had which great potential to have the best series ends but they both didn't get enough viewers and they both got canceled.
People ruin the fun of Littlebigplant and Dead by Daylight. A hacker destroyed the two best sandbox games to ever exist just because he thought it was funny. Dbd fandom is so toxic all the time and it so annoying.
I do want to end this with a lighter note, I still love this amazing games, shows, and movies so much. There is still a chance they and can come back and do better. There are still new things coming out I'm very excited for. If some of this things don't come back, we can make new stories for them or based new stories on the things we love. Want to share a bunch of quotes from my favorite characters.

WATCHING AND DREAMING SPOILERS!!!!!!!
-
-
-
ok but can we PLEASE talk about the future seen in watching & dreaming????
first of all: dana terrace is doing gods work out there. queer, latina, black, and trans kids will be able to see themselves in her characters and i think that is really beautiful. fuck disney for cancelling the show x100000
secondly: STOP IT BECAUSE ITS LITERALLY THE CUTEST THING EVER. i will admit at first i was VERY against huntlow but now i straight up love them, they're so perfect for each otherrrr!! also my boy hunter finally got some sleep, his eyebags are gone (hunter x sleep best ship)
also THE MATCHING FLAPJACK TATTOOS??? too cute i might (read: definitely will) cry
i LOVE how everyone was so supportive of luz!!! they all gathered together and threw a quinceañera (or should i say KING-ceañera) for her bc she missed it helping them rebuild the boiling isles... they r so cute!!
also everyone's futures are SO PERFECT. the designs are GOLD and they all got to do what the wanted to do (willow with flyer derby, gus with human studies, hunter studying wild magic and carving palismen, luz doing literally everything)
here is a comprehensive list of what the hexsquad + parental figures are doing in the future:
- hunter is carving palismen with edas parents and the bat queen. he also has a new blue-jay palisman and her name is waffles and i love her very very much
- willow is a pro flyer derby player
- flapjack..... i think we all know what happened to flapjack
- lillith is an architect and is helping to rebuild hexside (she also still has a personal vendetta against flora desplora) + she can go harpy mode!!!
- hooty is still and forever will always be just hooty and i love that.
- amity is making abomination tech with her dad and has an AMAZING new look
- mattholomule finally grew a moustache
- principal bump is now a gardener. good for him he deserves a break
- alador is a good person now and has figured out a way to get rid of coven sigils. he's also gay for darius i think (FUCK odalia bro!!!)
- darius is... idk what darius is. basically he's now hunters full ass father and is also gay for alador
- raine is helping to conduct research on the new sigil removing process but more importantly is OFFICIALLY BACK TOGETHER WITH EDA
- gus is now directing a human exchange program at a school for wild magic (!!!) and has a SICK new look
- quite possibly the best of all, eda is the headmaster of the school!!! she also has a captain hook-style hook for an arm and i think that is wonderful. she also FINALLY learned how to do the staff spin from season 1
- vee is still amazing and has a new look, also i'm seriously hoping she's with the human who worked at the gravesfield museum and did tarot because they would be SO CUTE
- luz reigns supreme as the queen of doing literally everything and has about 10 different majors at her college. she also has eyeliner skills that i am seriously jealous of
and HOW COULD I FORGET. king now has glyph magic???? he's getting powerful as fuck apparently so now luz gets to learn a whole new glyph system while she's at college
anyways final thoughts are: this episode was a masterpiece esp considering what dana was working with only having three episodes to fill. and of course, say it with me now:
FUCK WALT DISNEY!!!!

Since Lily has recently stated that she DOES believe that censorship is a problem, I now feel the need to than wonder: WHAT the HELL exactly DOES LO consider to be censorship??? She openly defends Disney’s extremely homophobic policies of cutting out queer moments from many of their recent shows/movies and its outright CANCELING of shows that actually have amazing queer representation like The Owl House. She has explicitly come out in the defense of the fucking HAYES CODE of all things as not being that bad and pretty much having a point. She defends terrible Youtube polices that would fuck over creators larger than her whom actually put time and CARE into making their videos all of the time. So how fucking BAD would censorship have to get by either companies or the government for Lily to give a shit about it and condemn it as wrong??!!!!
censorship is when people don't have her version of her stories as the only true valid interpretation. i feel like that it's about as much she thought about it.

hey sapphics, let’s talk Willow (2022)
because I am so upset about this cancellation it is literally affecting all other aspects of my life, and I know it’s dumb to be feeling grief about a tv show but at this point, we all know it’s not just a tv show?
which is why it is so frustrating and exhausting to go through this process.
because it isn’t the first time.
I mean, we had LITERALLY just gotten the news about a league of their own. and before that, there was warrior nun, and first kill, and the wilds, and paper girls – i can’t possibly remember all of them, it’s just so many.
and you know what these cancellations tell me? that sapphic stories are not worth it for big corporations. that we are forever destined to be the secondary characters, the stereotypes, the butt of the jokes and, of course, the disposable characters that can be killed off in season finales.
it makes me want to stop watching tv shows with sapphic characters because, even if we get a beautiful love story with well rounded characters like Jade and Kit, it will just be thrown away after 10 episodes.
i hate to be this extreme. and i hate to be this hopeless and upset, but i hope there is someone in the fandom or in the sapphic community that understands why is it that i feel like this. and hopefully, someday, i’ll be as positive as some of the beautiful posts i have seen, celebrating the small wins we got with Willow.
and by the way i am so, so happy about those wins. we literally got two lesbian disney princesses, the first ones in history, and NO ONE can take that away. and we got an amazing cast and crew who care about this story as much as we do.
and this fandom, which is so fucking special.
(sorry for the long post but I think I finally got it all out)
