Okay so I don’t know if I’m just slow or what, but I JUST realized something about this scene that I never picked up before.

It’s really easy to miss, and I always thought Mickey was just smiling up at him here to be like “I’m cute, right? You can’t be mad at me, right?” But no, it’s like Yen Sid realizes and appreciates this Mickey is eager and curious, and him doing stupid stuff like this is like that of any growing child and having those traits is something to be valued. And yet he does give him a pop to the backside on the way out. So then this scene ends on both a note of “Yeah, we’re still cool,” and “Don’t. DO THAT. Again.”

It just means so much to me especially when you consider how Yen Sid was supposed to represent Walt and the studio’s been focusing on that so much more recently especially in the parks like in Mickey & the Magical Map and then you start seeing The Sorcerer’s Apprentice as one of Mickey’s misadventures growing up before Walt passed on the torch to him 26 years later and uuuuugh excuse me I gotta go cry now.

The Agreste family chef has retired. Needing a new cook in the kitchen, and wanting to know how it feels to hear Adrien say “just like mom makes it”, Emilie has asked Marlena Cesaire to teach her how to cook.

Emilie: *putting on an apron* Thank you so much for agreeing to do this, Marlena. 

Marlena: Any time I can help a mother get closer to her child is a good time in my book. Now, let’s start with this recipe. *shows Emilie the recipe*

Emilie: *thinks for a second* Is it possible to add a little extra to the cooking time?

Marlena: *looks at the recipe* It’s doable, but whatever for?

Emilie: Oh, no particular reason. It’s just that Adrien always likes this dish a teensy bit toastier than it normally is.

Marlena: *smiles* Emilie, you are going to make a great cook.

After a week of practice, trial, and error:

           “Wait, what?! Really?! When?!” SJ smacks Seungri’s arm hard, the sound of the slap accompanied by his scream of pain echoes around the room. “Oppa, you’re the best! Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

           Seungri pushes her hand away, giving her an exhausted look. “Good news?”

           She looks at him, joy lighting up her face and rubbing off on Seungri. His smile is just as wide as hers when she says, “That was Hyun-suk. Seunghyun, he wants me to be in a music video for Sechskies! Filming starts tomorrow.”

           For a split second Seungri is in shock. His mind travels back to debut days and a time even prior to that. She hasn’t called him Seunghyun for a very long time, the name Seungri just coming easier to her since the inception of Bigbang. He forgets how much he misses it until he hears her say it. Is it the same for her? Does she get so used to hearing SJ that her real name comes as a shock? No, that can’t be right. This is SJ. She knows who she is and what she wants out of life.

           And right now what she wants is to be in a music video with her ultimate idols.

           “I don’t know why anyone even thought of me, but I also don’t care. Maybe it’s dramatic to say this… I haven’t been this happy in months.”

           Seungri shakes his head. “No, that’s not dramatic. You deserve this.”

           He can’t remember the last time he saw her smile so brightly. It hasn’t been this year, which he’s sure of. Ever since Siwon called off their wedding she’s been nothing but the shell of his best friend. Who would’ve thought one little call from YG demanding a favor from her would be what snapped her out of it. Honestly, it makes Seungri a little jealous. SJ’s his best friend and he’s been doing everything in his power to makes her feel better. If he’d known all it would take was another idol group, he would’ve got in touch with them months ago.

           “SJ,” Seungri calls her attention away from her phone. She’s probably texting Minnie the news so they can scream and cry together. “You know the show I’m supposed to be doing for Netflix?”

           “The FSO thingy? What about it?”

           “JaiJin is in it. Should I find you a part?”

           She glances at him shyly. “Can you?”

           Seungri puffs up with pride. “Of course I can! It’s my show.”

           “Show off. I know what you’re doing, ya know.” SJ twists her body so her legs are in Seungri’s lap as they recline beside each other on the sofa in his studio. “I appreciate it, but it’s not necessary. All of you…” She clears her throat as her voice becomes thick with emotion. “All of you have already done so much for me. There comes a point where it’s all on me to make myself feel better.”

           “SJ-”

           “Let me finish, will you? We both know how often I spill my heart like this. I’ll… never be able to express how blessed I feel to have friends like all of you. Especially you, Seunghyun. You’ve always been there. Even when I don’t deserve it. Especially when I don’t deserve it.”

           Seungri takes her hand, running his thumb over her knuckles. “SJ, don’t think like that. It’s not about whether or not you deserve something. You’re going through a rough patch. What kind of friends would we be if we let you suffer alone?”

           “Still. All of you have gone above and beyond to help me… but finding my happiness again is something I have to do on my own. You can’t do it for me. I need to work again and start branching outside Bigbang. Seungri, our last dance is coming. We all need to be ready.”

           Seungri, hating how heavy the atmosphere of the room suddenly became, says, “So you’ll be joining Sechskies while we’re gone?”

           SJ laughs, her smile showing off her teeth. “God damnit, Seungri! You always figure out my plans!”

           “Of course I do! You only open up if you have an ulterior motive! All this talk about what great friends we are is only because the second you film this music video you’re ditching us!”

           “Your words, not mine.”

           Seungri jumps up off the couch. “You weren’t supposed to agree.”

           “But when you’re right, you’re right.” She shrugs simply.

           “I’m telling Youngbae.”

           “Tell him! I dare you!”

           Seungri pulls out his phone and pauses to look over at SJ. “Wait, didn’t hyung change his number recently?”

           SJ’s eyes widen as she gasps. “Are you being serious?”

           He clears his throat. “Of course not. I was just checking to make sure you knew I knew-”

           “You know nothing! Seungri, how do you not have his number? Do you have any of our phone numbers?”

           “We always use Kakaotalk!”

           “No we don’t!” SJ’s voice goes a pitch higher in disbelief. “Seungri, what the hell? You at least have to have my number!”

           He does.

           Not that he’d admit it at the moment.

           “You’re unbelievable,” she tells him in English.

           He points at her. “Now who’s being the show off? You’re sitting there speaking in English!”

           “You know English too!”

           Seungri scoffs. “I don’t have to take this. Have fun with Sechskies, SJ. See if I ever talk to you again.”

           “We’re recording for your solo album the day after tomorrow,” she reminds him.

           “So I’ll see you the day after tomorrow,” he says as he grabs his coat.

           “Seungri! I love you!” SJ shoots him a heart and blows a kiss. He returns the favor dramatically before actually leaving.

           He needs to get some beauty rest.

           After all, he’s got a music video shoot to crash tomorrow.

What is Fantasia Symphony of Sorcerers AU/ FSOS AU/ FSOS?

It’s a project made by two people, Aero and Golden. It’s a fanfic that aims to connect up a bunch of Disney universes, taking Fantasia as its central starting point. The plot entails Yen Sid and his apprentices, Mickey, Oswald, Julius, Scout and Golden all facing various threats on their journeys to become Master Sorcerers just like their father before them. They have made various arts about the story, and this tumblr is the next step to bring it to a wider audience, since it is quite niche!

What can I expect from the story?

A mixture of family fluff and angst! It’s got lgbt and straight ships, themes about identity and expression, and a whole lot of links to various cultures and traditions! It also includes a lot of magic and spirit animals that each sorcerer can summon, as well as unique world mythology that will be explored in due time. Mainly, the world of Luminosa (earth) is in a solar system just as our world is, but it’s heralded by many realms, which Yen Sid protects. These realms contain many worlds, but they all share the same sky- one sky, one destiny. On top of this, the main setting is the Kingdom of Lumos, established 1000 years ago. In Lumos, there are various cities and places, such as Fioritura, where the main family live, Nocturne, Ceros, Lega, and many others. There are also people living outside of Lumos, and their stories will be explored later 😉

Who are you two writing it?

Well, there are two writers- Aero and Golden. Aero is quite a bit older than Golden and they’re online friends, Golden can be very shy about her appearance and doesn’t share it online, nor her name. She’s got various names though (Polaris, MarionetteAngie, Yen Sid’s Hat (🤨)) and all with the goal of keeping her identity private (please be considerate of this boundary). Aero is more open, she loves plushies and has a huge collection, and the two have been friends since 2022 when Golden found Aero’s art and they started talking.

Some essential points:

- Forget everything you know about kingdom hearts and the Disney universe lore-wise. It’s an alternate universe, so emphasis on ALTERNATE, even earth isn’t called earth, but it’s called Luminosa!

- We take pieces of Fantasia, Fantasia 2000, and Fantasia: Music Evolved, as well as a billion other things, and basically remix them! 🤭

- “Golden” the character is different to Golden the person (me), same with “Aero” the character being different to Aero my co-writer (who will likely be the one who posts most here!) They’re self inserts, but obviously due to the way the world works, they can be considered pieces of a personality, parts of a whole, which is the humans behind the story, or us.

The matriarch of all villainy… what an interesting concept. Good thing it’s in the past…right? Also includes Golden’s 10th birthday, marking what is now known as “present time”, since the rest of the story will take place over roughly a year from this point!

A sweet shorter story where one of Yen Sid’s old cohort finds herself in need of help, and the kids are more than happy to assist on this astronomical adventure!

La Russie a lancé une vague d'attaques de missiles à travers l'Ukraine jeudi matin, l'armée de l'air ukrainienne affirmant avoir abattu 54 missiles de croisière ailés russes sur 69 lancés en Ukraine depuis Rostov en Russie, la mer Caspienne et la mer Noire. Le président ukrainien, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, a reconnu que la plupart des régions subissaient des coupures de courant après les attentats mais il a dit que les dégâts auraient été pires sans une défense aérienne « héroïque ». Zelenskiy, dans une allocution vidéo jeudi soir, a déclaré que les commandements aériens du centre, du sud, de l'est et de l'ouest de l'Ukraine avaient repoussé 54 missiles russes et 11 drones lors de l'une des plus grandes attaques aériennes de la Russie depuis le début de la guerre en février. Le maire de Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, a déclaré que trois personnes auraient été blessées dans la capitale, dont une jeune fille de 14 ans. Deux personnes avaient été secourues d'une maison privée qui avait été frappée par des débris. Klitschko a déclaré que 40% des consommateurs de la capitale étaient sans électricité après l'attaque au missile. Le Premier ministre italien, Giorgia Meloni, a promis que Rome continuerait à aider l'effort de guerre de Kyiv et qu'elle viendrait avant la fin février. Le Kazakhstan s'apprêtait à expulser un agent de sécurité russe qui a fui son pays parce qu'il s'opposait à l'invasion de l'Ukraine et espérait trouver refuge dans l'ouest, a déclaré jeudi sa femme. En tant qu'officier du Service fédéral de protection (FSO), chargé de protéger le président russe, le major Mikhail Zhilin, 36 ans, s'est vu interdire de quitter la Russie et est entré illégalement au Kazakhstan en septembre lorsqu'il est devenu clair qu'il pourrait être envoyé en Ukraine.
