I'm stuck in a bit of a creative block so I decided to try and write a synopsis of my latest potential first fic ( I got a bunch of potential fics that never saw the daylight) and this is what I managed to write

After releasing Kilgharrah from underneath the castle, Merlin thought that his life would continue pretty much the same, until one day the dragon came knocking at his door to take him to a long forgotten island, and everything began to change. Uther’s hunt for magic reached a level that was only seen before at the first years of the Purge. Merlin, seeing his people’s suffering, decides to take them away from the wrath of camelot to somewhere they wouldn’t be found. Quickly, the rumours of a magic-friendly kingdom began to spread throughout the lands of Albion; and Merlin, as Emrys, sees himself ascending to the position of ruler and saviour. Now, the peasant boy has to learn how to be king of an oppressed people, protect them from Uther’s war, and somehow keep helping Arthur fulfill their destiny as Emrys and the Once and Future King.  But a kingdom is not built in a day, so it is a good thing that he’ll get some help doing it. Or, the au where Merlin helps his kind and accidentally turns into a king.

I've had the first idea for this fic over a year ago and lately I've been writing some of it for fun. I don't know If I'll ever finish it 'cause I usually don't but I sometimes post bits of what I have so far.

I haven't posted more than this because chapter 1 ended up with 14k words and I just think this is too long for tumblr so I just posted some scenes that I felt like. Ah! I almost forgot, the official name so far is "Emrys and the council of the 7" because that's literally the first thing I thought about this universe, so that's probably staying. AH! And it'll be merthur, eventually...

Review of Fury's Big Week tie-in. Part 2

This is a list of all the significant mistakes made in these 8 comics that Marvel Studios considers canon.

Chapter 1

The main problem

The main idea behind Fury's Big Week is that the three Phase 1 movies (The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2 and Thor) took place at the same time (within a week). According to the movies themselves, this is not true at all. Here's what month and year they took place (with links to timelines based on the movies): The Incredible Hulk - August-October 2009 IM2 - May-June 2010 Thor - November 2011

I will not be solving the problem here of how all this can be explained so that it all works together (I will do this in a separate post) and will simply describe what is wrong.

According to the latest canon (the official MCU timeline), Big Week takes place in the spring of 2010. And Iron Man 2 does take place in the spring (mostly) of 2010. Since we know when Tony's birthday is (May 29th) - around this date. So Big Week bases its dates on that movie.

Day 1 (May 29th):

Tony - "72 hours until death". His Birthday.

Bruce - crossed the US border.

According to the movie it happened in September/October 2009, not in May 2010.

Thor - Coulson informs Fury of "atmospheric disturbance above New Mexico".

According to the movie it was November 2011.

The comic shows us that SHIELD scientists know exactly how long Tony has left to live. However, in the movie, JARVIS lets us know that this time also depends on factors that SHIELD scientists couldn't calculate, such as: 1) whether Tony uses the Iron Man suit, for how long, and how much energy he needs; 2) how much chlorophyll he drinks.

The party scene

The problem is that there is no scene like the one on this page in the movie. I mean with Tony holding a barbell in a room with guests, where they also are running away and Natasha is calling Fury.

The barbell scene takes place entirely in the gym, out of sight of others (0:57:15 - 0:57:22). They enter the room depicted in the book at 0:57:46. And no one runs away until Tony roars at them at 0:58:26, when he and Rhodey have already finished fighting hand-to-hand.

This frame is also problematic:

If she was talking about Rhodes in Mark II, it would all make sense. That's how he flew away. But she was talking about Tony, who at that moment should still be half-lying stunned on the floor nearby. Simply because the explosion the guys had caused had just happened and he hadn’t had time to come to his senses and fly away (remember the length of the call and that Fury only called Natasha once after he heard the explosion, and didn’t have time to panic and send all his agents and a coroner there).

I finally updated my Akashi fic

After six years of writer's block, I finally did it. I'm sure if you've been seeing my posts within the past few weeks, you'd know I was working on trying to update one of my old KNB fics, and now I think I'm finally comfortable with sharing it with everyone else.

The fic is called Accidental Siblings, based on fanart by one of my fave Akashi accounts, @clubakashi (they haven't posted in a long while, but I hope they're doing well). I liked this piece of fanart so much that almost eight years ago, I decided to make an AU where after the Jabberwock vs. Vorpal Swords match, Bokushi is reborn again but as a five-year-old child outside of Akashi's body that has retained all of his knowledge and memories from when he was still in Akashi's subconscious.

I actually wrote a lot for this story, but eventually, life got in the way, and the lack of official content from the KNB realm when the series officially ended just really put a damper on things. And I ended up moving away from the fandom for some time.

But now that I'm back and my passion for KNB has been reignited, I wanted to go back to finish old stories of mine, and this one was at the top of my priority list. So I dug up the latest unfinished chapter for this fic a few weeks ago and managed to complete it. The latest chapter (chapter 20) was written at two different time periods. The first 5k words were written when I was between the ages of 18 and 20 (I'm almost 25 now for context as to how long ago that was), and the last 6k words were written by me over the past two weeks. I only made minor edits to my old chapters in order to preserve the essence of my old writing style, but I did clean up the formatting and correct the timeline to match the canon just so it's an easier read.

22/50 days of productivity

After a weekend of resting, reading and spending time with my family I am back on my studying bullshit. I cannot wait for these exams to be over so that I'll be able to rest a bit more (as I think I have mentioned I doubt I'll manage to study for a third exam at the beginning of July, so I'll be just working on the materials and taking the exam in September, but at the moment that is a problem for future Cris). This morning I was slow in what I was doing but I felt productive, and I was pretty happy with myself. This afternoon was the total opposite. I struggled for real with keeping my focus on the book I am studying. It was absolutely terrible. My initial idea was to power through it at the beginning of the week and then focus on protohistory at the end of the week, but I think I'll have to switch a bit between the two to keep my motivation high.

read and started to annotate the fourth chapter (I am officially halfway done with this book and I am glad about it, because I am hating and struggling over here)

Sunday Digest - ah shit here we go again

if you've been seeing me posting and have wondered to yourself "gin, i thought you were on hiatus. why are you lurking around like a ghost with social anxiety?" then i would say that is a valid question, my friend.

in case you didn't hear, i had a very abrupt, very dramatic change of plans in regards to my internship and i now find myself back home, teaching yoga and volunteering and praying for a summer job.

i wasn't sure if i was just going to let my hiatus run its course, but i've decided that i have writing to share, and i'd rather do it now than in a few months when i'm up to my eyeballs in course and thesis work. so this is me officially ending my hiatus, oops.

here's my plan - June is complete (not the month, the series, though the month is also almost over lol) and it means a great deal to me so that's what i'm going to be posting for the foreseeable future. most likely a chapter a week. the second chapter will be coming this tuesday.

also, i am very close to another follower milestone and i'd like to do some request work to celebrate that whenever it comes along :)

that's all. i'm definitely taking things slower and i think it will be more sustainable for me in the long run.

in the meantime, i want to give a little love to fics and writers that have been swirling around in my brain.

9. start to finish, how long did it take you to write the last fic you posted?

Oh gosh. Okay well my latest posted fic is a WIP that’s a Steddie Mafia AU, Bloody Hands, Broken Hearts, which the last chapter I wrote in only a couple days (work got in the way or I’d probably have had it done sooner) though I started the fic entirely not even a month ago. The first scene and an upcoming scene had been percolating in my head for a while before that though, so it was fairly easy to start when I finally started writing.

The 4th chapter is being a bit of a pain now tho. Eddie keeps being an asshole and not letting the conversation happen.

The latest fully completed fic would be my Steddie Omegaverse AU, Ruin Me, and that one definitely took longer. It’s just a single chapter and only 20k words but I had some trouble with it because it was my first time writing intersex omegas and oddly enough vaginal sex is harder for me to write. I probably had been working on the WIP for that one for maybe a solid month before I finally completed it. Maybe more.

I am working on posting parts of it on here though, with added commentary on the bottom, but I lost the draft I had here and it discouraged me so I need to rewrite that 😅

I’m really bad at timekeeping. I don’t pay attention to how long something takes and then before I know it, eons have passed on by. Work gets in the way a lot too, especially with my current schedule. Days just seem the same and I don’t realize how much time has occurred.

Ooooooh that’s a good one. I love tropes so I’m always into almost all of them. I’ve read a few of the accidental voyeur trope recently though, and I’ve been back into the sex worker AUs as well. My mafia fic is like that, with a dark mob boss Eddie and sex worker (sex trafficked really) Steve.

I’m also always into fake dating, arranged relationships, and idiot4idiot 😂 really, Steddie specific but I love pining!Steve/oblivious!Eddie. That’s some good shit. Ooh, and Hopper adopting (officially or not) Steve. Those ones I gobble up.

hi hello so i wanted to make a post just to update you all where i stand with current wips, what my priorities are, etc.

below is a list of my current wips in order of priority (just based on how frequently i have found myself writing/thinking/inspired for them. none of these have been sent to the wip graveyard. if they're on this list, it means i have a current chapter for them in progress that i have written on within the last month.)

so uh... surprise? new fic in progress? masterlist with details will get posted tonight. possibly the prologue. it's been one that's fun and coming to me easily, which i desperately needed lol (also sensing that a majority of you might not read because... it's not eddie.)

i know it's been a while since i've updated this one, but it's my baby. i'm not dropping it. we are crawling to the finish line with this one i swear it.

i'm well aware THIS one has not been updated in a VERY long time. latest chapter has been a wip for a while. i'll admit, i'm very close to putting this one on an official hiatus (already sort of feels like it's on hiatus, doesn't it?) solely because i've struggled with feeling like i lost the essence of willow and eddie. and that's just sad. they're my favorite couple i've ever written. but as of right now, it's an active fic. just... low on the prioritized list because low on inspiration i suppose?

outside of those three, i have the smut prompt requests that i am prioritizing request wise for valentine's day! if you've sent me a request recently, just know i try to go in order of when someone sent them. i also have some really old requests that recently sparked some ideas? basically outside of those fics i'll probably be posting small things here and there for shits and giggles. gotta remind myself this is fun, folks.

i don't have an update schedule or even an estimated posting for any of the above beyond the moon will sing. i can say for sure that prologue is either being posted tonight or tomorrow. and i know that means nothing, because none of y'all have read or care for it yet! that's totally fine! i'll do my normal warnings post if i am about to update maroon or mordor, but for now, we're just cruising. i recently changed jobs sort of, and i'm in the process of possibly having to move. life is lifing.

Valeria is lucky cause she accidentally did the thing that makes them find the truth)

here I thought Soap is gonna be the one Canary has the most trust with (aside from Gaz)

I'm officially announcing that he's off the visitation list when Canary woke up (if she did, which she did….right?🥺）and Gaz is now the only one who can visit her without anxious her.

And ghost being the one who find her and calm her down? I thought he’s going to kill us the second he sees us especially when the whole 141 thought she’s the traitor, I guess it’s because he saw how frightened canary is he scents something very wrong….at least he did something right this time 😤😤

even in that condition Canary still didn’t say it’s Ghost who let the info out??? God ghost you better beg for forgiveness when she wakes up, you know what, all of them need to, and Gaz is going to be the only one that gets canary’s huggys. I wonder if the drugs Graves gave her would affect her health, like the doctor said she got poisoned and tortured for months and they realized the reason canary looks so happy on stage is because that’s the only time she can relax 😢

i feel like shepherd’s in this weird area where he wants to take down price, but is realizing that this may be going too far than he expected. like he’s never going to outright help canary maybe but he is gonna do little things to make her more comfortable. mostly for his own conscious and not really for her but still ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

another fun fact: canaries have really good memory, so much so that they’re considered a “model species for discovering how the vertebrate brain learns, consolidates memories, and recalls coordinated motor movements”. so it’s safe to say our canary is def not going to forget how the 141 (including soap) treated her when they thought she was working with graves and she’ll remember who stuck by her side the entire time.

with my headcanons for ghost (in general, not just this au) i’d think that even if canary was a proven traitor, he’d still decide to help her the moment he saw the bruises and her breaking down. same with valeria. i think i explained it in another post but those two strike as people who would help a beaten woman no questions asked or at least get her to safety to question her themselves.

now that’s interesting, we haven’t really talked about the drugs graves was giving canary, have we? we know they were def more than just painkillers, but what exactly were they? i don’t think graves would poison her or risk killing her, but he very obviously wouldn’t mind her getting hurt or maybe having her under the influence of something to make her more cooperative and get information out of her? very interesting. 👀

yes, it’ll only get better from here!! there maybe some bumps and arguments (and a little death) but we’re gearing up for the happy ending!!!!

Fanfic Progress Update 153

Hi people, it's time to do an update on this week's writing progress. Stay tuned for a sneak-peek for Keep the Cuddles Platonic -challenge at the bottom of this post!

Current WIPs:

Keep the Cuddles Platonic -challenge

Fandom: Sonic the Hedgehog, movieverse

Summary: Doctor Robotnik is simultaneously touch averse and touch starved, which results in a plan to "get the touching needs over with" in the most efficient way he could think of: cuddles overnight, when he wouldn't be doing anything useful anyway. Agent Stone was not privy to the plan until they arrived at their hotel room for their business trip.

Progress: Chapter 2 is the current latest chapter and was posted on 23rd of November. Chapter 3 is finished and will be posted on 30th of November aka next Thursday. Chapters 4 and 5 are also finished :D

Originally this was supposed to be a threeshot, but chapter 3 got so long that I cut it into two chapters, and chapter 4 reached the desired word count perfectly naturally, so it was clearly a necessity. Chapter 5 just kind of wrote itself, it's a shorter epilogue chapter that the fic didn't really need, but now that it's there it perfects it, so turns out the fic did need it, I just didn't know it. Anyway, it's all written now and only needs to be posted.

I'm Signing in the Drain

Fandom: Sonic the Hedgehog, movieverse

Summary (temporary): Not many people know this, but Doctor Robotnik is actually deaf and uses hearing aids to make up for it. Agent Stone does not know this, he just kind of assumes he's told to learn sign language upon being assigned for some other, mysterious reasons, and not as a "just in case" measure.

Progress: This fic will have at least three chapters, maybe four, maybe more (if I decide I actually want to do more with this concept than my initial idea, because the potential is there). The second chapter is almost done. The first chapter is now about 1/3 done.

I'm actually not sure if this fic will end up being Stobotnik aside from Stone being Big Gay as usual, cause Robotnik is being very aroace right now and I don't know if he'll give Stone a chance or not, as that is not really the point of the fic. We'll see how this shapes up.

Maybe it said something about Agent Stone - and probably not good things - that the poster in the cafeteria's pin board piqued his interest more than any of his official assignments had for a good long while.

Progress: This one will be a longfic, probably around 20 chapters. It's a bit hard to estimate at this point, so the number is subject to change. Or I might cut this into two fics in a series, because quite honestly, it's two stories in one package (that is, half of it is pre-canon and half post-canon, so you know, could easily have two fics.) My writing hours will be devoted to this fic.

I have the first three chapters completely written now. Chapter 4 is half done. I also have two halfway written chapters that don't yet know their exact placement within the fic (they're scenes that will be slotted in to wherever they feel natural, once we get Stone settled in.)

It was a perfectly average day at Doctor Robotnik’s laboratory. No business trips, no missions, no field tests, nothing but staying at the lab. Stone’s workday would be from ten to six, he’d do his usual everyday work, no meetings scheduled, no presentations, no visitors, no deadline crunches.

Simply a regular Thursday.

Except it was going to be anything but.

When Stone came in for the day, the lab smelled off in a way that was hard to define. Curiously, he walked up to the big crossroad that divided the lab building into two distinct halves and sniffed the air, pinpointing that the smell was coming from the left corridor, which meant the origin was likely the testing lab. Upon entering it, he could immediately see the cause of the smell: the large steel glass cabinet where the doctor tested various weapon proofnesses of his prototypes was covered in soot, metal bits, and chemical splatter. In short, the machine he had worked on yesterday when Stone clocked out had exploded upon testing.

Stone cringed in sympathy. That was days of careful work gone up in smoke just like that. At least he hadn’t been here to get yelled at for it.

Okay a Hotch whump drabble idea just bc the latest one has inspired me, I don’t know if Sean would visit again after that whole adoption fiasco but maybe there’s a phone-call or something (a situation where Sean basically rejects Aaron completely) and he’s in his room and Alex checks on him and he gets to the point where he says ‘why does nobody want me’, unbeknownst to them Spencer’s been eavesdropping and he crashes into the room like ‘I WANT YOU!’ And then Alex and Spencer comforting Aaron (maybe when Aaron is asleep Spencer can say something like ‘nobody wanted me either until I came here and you guys found me, but we found Aaron too! Why doesn’t he know it yet?’)

this actually ties really well into the 18k word backstory oneshot I wrote with Aaron (but haven’t posted yet) and the Spencer backstory oneshot I’m currently working on.

(and it ties perfectly into the last chapter of Patron Saint. which should be getting updated on Thursday!)

She blinked in confusion. “Who am I talking to?” she asked as she opened the cover of anther return.

Derek glanced around, making sure no one was listening. “Hotch,” he said in a low voice. “He’s been in a shitty mood all day and it’s only getting worse.”

Alex frowned. “I haven’t seen talked to him since lunch,” she said. She glanced around Derek from her vantage point at the circulation desk; she could see Hotch sitting on the couch with the rest of the group, his textbooks still closed as he tapped at his phone. “Do you think he’s sick again?”

“I don’t think so,” Derek said. “Not this time.” He shoved his hands in his back pockets. “I think he’s sad about something, but it’s coming out angry.”

Alex bit her lip. “I’ll talk to him,” she promised. “Spencer’s doing okay though, right?”

“Yeah, he’s fine, little man is playing with Penny’s Nintendo,” Derek said.

“And doing badly?”

“Oh, it’s horrible. I didn’t know it was possible to fuck up Animal Crossing that bad.”

Alex laughed. “Let me make some headway on these returns and then I’ll come check on him,” she said. “Let me know if anything changes.”

Derek nodded and headed back to the group. Alex picked up another book. The sophomores had just finished their research papers for history class, which meant they all returned their sources at the same time.

A notification lit up on her phone; she paused to pick it up and check it. She didn’t use social media that often but the other kids sure did, and Emily had tagged her in half a dozen memes on Facebook.

Absently she scrolled through her feed, and then froze.

Aaron Hotchner was tagged in a comment.

It didn’t make sense, Hotch used social media less than any of them. But she stared at the photo and the caption and the comments with growing horror.

We welcomed our sweet boy into our home three years ago, but today it’s official! This morning the judge signed the papers and Sean is officially a Eubanks. While the circumstances surrounding his adoption are tragic, and we will always miss my sister Elizabeth, I know that adopting her baby boy as our own is exactly what she would have wanted. Mommy and Daddy love you so much, Seanie!

Hotch’s younger brother grinned in the photograph with their aunt and uncle on either side of him, posed in front of the judge. At least a hundred people had liked the picture, and dozens of comments congratulated the new family. Someone had commented “too bad Aaron couldn’t be there!” with his name highlighted in the tag, but his aunt hadn’t replied.

Alex dropped her phone in her pocket and left the desk, abandoning the books. “You,” she said, startling Hotch enough that his phone slipped from his hand.

“Why?” he asked, glaring up at her.

“Because I said so. Come here.”

He rolled his eyes and pushed himself off the couch. Alex took him by the sleeve, dragged him into her office, and closed the door. “Are you okay?” she demanded.

“Why would I not be okay?” he asked.

“Because you-“

“I’m not sick,” he said flatly. “I just didn’t sleep well last night.”

“But I saw-“

“I’m really not in the mood for you to fucking mother me to death, so if you don’t mind, I have homework to do,” he snapped as he turned towards the door.

“Aaron!” she said. “I saw.“

He froze, his back to her.

She took a deep breath and lowered her voice. “I saw,” she said again. “I saw the photo, and the caption, and everybody saying congratulations.”

He didn’t move.

“I’m sorry,” she whispered. “I’m so sorry.”

He was quiet for so long that she worried he hasn’t heard her.

“They didn’t even let me there,” he said in a small voice. “I knew they were going to…but I thought…I thought they’d at least invite me.”

Alex stepped behind him in and slipped her fingers around his wrist. “I know,” she said softly.

“They changed his name,” he said. “Not that…not that I even wanted this name, but we don’t even have the same last name anymore.” Alex stroked the soft skin of his inner wrist. “He already called them mom and dad but…this is different. This is permanent.”

She could feel his pulse picking up, and when she tugged him to turn around he didn’t fight her. “I’m so sorry,” she said.

Aaron rubbed his eyes with the heel of his palm. “God, I don’t know why I’m so upset,” he said, a wet laugh breaking from his throat. “It makes sense. He doesn’t remember Mama, what he remembers of Dad is that he’s a piece of shit. They might as well adopt him.”

His eyes were red-rimmed and welling up. Alex squeezed his hand. “You’re allowed to be upset,” she said.

“It’s stupid.”

“Doesn’t matter.”

“Why didn’t they take me too?” he burst out. He dragged his hand over his face. “God, it’s so fucking stupid. I don’t even like them, I don’t want to be adopted, I’d fucking kill to have my mom back, but…why didn’t they take me too?”

Alex didn’t know how to answer. She held his hand in both of hers, smoothing her fingertips over his knuckles.

“And now Sean’s got a new family, and he needs me even less than he did before,” Aaron said bitterly. “God, why doesn’t…why doesn’t anyone ever want me?”

“I want you.”

Spencer peeked around the door, hazel eyes huge in his pale little face. Aaron’s shoulders hitched. “Yeah?” he said, his voice thick.

“Yeah,” Spencer said, still half hidden in the doorway as if he was afraid he’d said the wrong thing, and Aaron choked on a sob and held out his arms. Spencer closed the distance between them, wrapping his arms around his neck, and Aaron scooped him up in the tightest hug possible.

Alex kept one hand on Aaron’s back and the other on Spencer’s arm, trying to make sure that both of them were okay. She let Aaron cry quietly for a while, until she could feel his shaking start to subside.

At long last Aaron set Spencer carefully down on his feet. “Sorry,” he said, his eyes downcast and his face red and puffy from crying.

“You don’t have anything to be sorry for,” she said. She squeezed his arm. “Do you feel a little better?”

He nodded, wiping at his eyes. “I’m…I’m going to go wash my face,” he said. “You’re not going to tell the others about-“

“Not a word to anyone about anything,” she promised. She pulled him into a gentle hug and kissed his cheek. “But come talk to me when you need me, okay, Bubba?”

He sort of smiled at her. “Okay,” he said, and he slipped out of the room.

Spencer wrapped his arms around Alex’s waist and leaned against her. “Is be okay?” he asked quietly.

She brushed his curls back and kissed the top of his head. “He will be, baby, he just needs a little time,” she said.

“I don’t get it,” Spencer said, snuggling his cheek against her hip.

“Don’t get what, baby?”

“Nobody wanted me either until I got here,” he said. “But I figured out that you guys wanted me. Why hasn’t Hotch figured it out yet?”

Alex sighed heavily. “I think you were still hoping you could find a family,” she said. “But I think Hotch gave up a long time ago, and he still needs more convincing that he has us.”

This is just going to be me ranting about something that particularly annoys me, so don't take it too seriously, but it drives me up a metaphorical wall.

But, the thing is, I just finished reading some new parts of a Rise fic I really liked, it was funny, and a good story sure, until I saw the word 'twin' be thrown around about five times in one chapter.

I honestly thought I was exaggerating, so I continued, and the word 'twin' just kept on appearing. So I just decided to count how many times it comes up just to see if I was being crazy, y'know?

In the course of a couple of chapters, the word, 'twin' is thrown around 64 different times. Not accounting for any notes, tags, or the latest chapter they posted since it wasn't an official one.

To make this clearer, the word twin, referring to Rise Donnie and Leo specifically, was mentioned 64 different times. One chapter holding 13 mentions of them being twins alone.

Now, I don't know why in the world it needed to be mentioned 64 different times, but hey, it's none of my business. And I really wouldn't be bothered if being twins wasn't their one specific trait, especially around each other.

And it only gets worse in the new chapters. Everytime they mention each other it's like they are incapable of not calling the other their twin, and.. this thing annoys me to my goddamn core.

It doesn't matter, I know that, but it's so annoying to see people make Donnie and Leo being twins their one special thing even though they're not even twins in the dang show. Normally that wouldn't bother me, and it doesn't, but for you to reduce a character to a trait they canonically don't even have is just bizarre.

I'm not gonna mention the writer, and I hate criticizing writers or artists like this in general, but it's so unbelievably mind numbing to see Donnie and Leo get reduced to being twins over and over again as if it actually matters? All it is, is the day they were born. That's it! That's all, yet so many people are obsessed with making it an important factor?

They are so much more than just twins, and have so much more to them than a couple of traits in the show. Yet so many people just, ignore that? Especially in some fics?

Not to mention in the particular story, Raph and Mikey hardly ever appear unless it's for the same couple of jokes, and just leaves me longing for more development on them but nope! Gotta shove some more twin content in there!

I have absolutely no problem with people liking the Disaster Twins, and making stories centered around them, but they are so much more than just twins, and so much more than their relationship with each other. They have other family members too, acknowledge them.

This is not only with this particular author, this has happened multiple times and it's just plain annoying. If you like Leo and Donnie more, just say that. There's no reason you should add their brothers in, and then just discard them to the point they don't even seem like they are siblings anymore. They're just close friends at that point, and it's just angering for me.

I don't see it all that much anymore, but so many people still make Leo and Donnie being 'twins' in Rise this big thing when they aren't even twins, and probably wouldn't mention the fact they are if they weren't explaining their ages because it literally means nothing in the end. They're just brothers that happened to be born on the same day, that's it.

I'm not a twin myself, so I obviously can't speak for actual twins, but even the twins I've known personally hardly mentioned the fact they were twins other than to make a couple of jokes here and then. In no world should them being twins be so important to you that it's mentioned 64 different times. That's just insane.

It is different than simply having a sibling, I get that. Being twins is definitely different in a way, and comes with different experiences, but it should never be that important to the point they mention it 13 TIMES IN ONE CHAPTER.

Skipping past the slightly serious part, 64 different times?? Would they, like, forget if they didn't say it? Fr 13 times in one conversation? I don't think I've even done that with my proclaimed Twin before, because that's, that's just crazy.

As of this writing, I just pitched this book to a traditional publisher and (hopefully) they’ll let me know by late April/early May latest if they said yes to it or not! Wish me luck!

Current WIPS:

A fantasy novel inspired by the video game series King’s Quest. I am currently still writing its first draft and I’ve spoken a bit on this blog about how it’s going so far. I just finished writing the first draft in mid-February, so this WIP is on a break for now while I work on...

"An Engagement To Die For:” The sequel to “Winner Takes All,” the murder mystery that I self-published last year (June 2022)! I am still currently editing this novel but I hope I can have them completely finalized by the end of April!

I also have other novels I’m writing during this time, butttt I won’t tell you what they are yet because they’re very early in the writing process. XD

When are we getting “Roots” and can you give a little synopsis?!

roots! oh I love to talk about roots! you will forgive me for the ramble that I am about to indulge in, but you have pressed the roots button!!! and I love!!! to talk!!! about roots!!!!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩

I am very nearly done with it's outline (a huge fix for one of my biggest plot roadblocks hit me in a half-asleep, inspirational haze yesterday) and the first draft is about halfway done. I don't know when it'll be finished so I'm not sure when I'll start posting it, but I'm going to be working on it during camp nano in both April and July and at the very latest I'll also work on it for nano in November if I haven't finished it by that point. I do want to go through a couple of drafts before I start posting it, just to see what it's like to actually write a draft of something for the first time in my goddamn life. it's a whole lot but it's been a very VERY exciting process!!!!

I don't have an official synopsis yet but I can give you some more basic info! it's a post-breaking dawn canon-compliant fic (with some minor, minor tweaks that will genuinely barely be noticeable) that answers many questions, including: "How much longer do the Cullens have before something (or, someone) tries to take them out again?" 👀👀👀

it's the most ambitious project I've ever taken on and I'm, to put it frankly, obsessed with it! it's a 3rd-person story with multiple, alternating POVs (including a couple of characters who have been a fucking BLAST to write for) that centers on jasper's past, his and alice's relationship, as well as the relationships all the cullens have with one another. if I had to classify it with tropes and genres I'd call one part action/adventure, one part thriller/mystery, one part tragedy, and three parts horror with some non-linear storytelling, some messy complex relationships, and a whole lot of different interpretations of trauma. roots is like if every character in a murder mystery was already a murderer. roots is like watching nine different people argue and insist that no, they are the ones having the worse day out of all of them (they are all somehow both right and wrong all at once). your most reliable narrator in this story is, at their core, this meme:

some chapters read like an episode of the brady bunch. others read like a cut scene from a saw movie. a few chapters are like those TV stations that old catholic people like to watch where it's mainly just mass broadcasted near-constantly along with horrible shows where the vibes are so, so off. a couple of the chapters are like an evil, more fun version of the bachelorette. I really take you guys on a journey with this one and I'm so excited to be your guide

roots has been genuinely so fun to plan out and I wanna give a special shoutout to my jalice girlies for letting me rant and ramble about it to them for the past 7/8 months while I figure the story out. they're the true MVPs here

Hello everyone. I’m just giving you the current status of my continuation/fix-it comic of @hezuart‘s ‘Channel Change’ AU.

I’ve just finished all of the panels for page 2 of it (27 panels/12 image files total this time) and I’ve already made progress on a few of the panels for page 3 (which is also the last page and will be 29 panels/ 13 image files), and some panels are even finished (I didn’t draw all of this comic in order), but there are still a number of panels that haven’t been started yet and the ones that are already being drawn in progress need to be finished.

Also I guess this may count as a little update but I was considering a slight edit to the last panels of the comic, but I decided that it’d probably work better as an epilogue. So now this comic will have a little epilogue to it (that’s very short, only 5 panels/3 image files long).

I still plan to upload the entire comic all at once like Hezu did, so I’m still not going to upload anything anywhere until it’s all complete. And like Hezu did with ‘Channel Change’, each post will have a link to the other pages in the descriptions, so when I finally start uploading them please wait for me to add the links to the other parts before liking and/or reblogging so that all of the links are there. I can’t add links to the different parts right now because they are all in drafts right now. So please do wait a few minutes for me to put the links in when I finally upload them (Refreshing the page will probably also be required for it to work).

And if anyone wants any updates on my ‘Six’s Shield’ series, I have the written part of the second to last chapter uploaded, now I just need to make some art for it. Then there’s just one last chapter left to write and make art for, and then the series will officially be finished, though with the last chapter I plan to make the art for it first before uploading the written part so that both bits of the last chapter can be done as close as possible.

And for anyone particularly interested in my ‘Six’s Shield’ series, after I upload the stuff for the last chapter (when it’s made first) I will also upload a separate ‘master post’ of the series here, on Reddit and probably somehow on Deviantart too (I upload stuff for it on the LN subreddit and DA too), which will firstly have a link to the whole series for people to pick which instalment they want to read, but it will also have some ‘fun facts’ in it, for anyone who’s interested in any trivia about it. And I plan to pin these master posts onto my Tumblr and Reddit accounts, so there’s that to look forward to for anyone who likes the series.

I look forward to finishing and uploading the comic and the art for the latest chapter of the last instalment of Six’s Shield, and eventually the writing and art for the last chapter too.

!!IMPORTANT!! (not an update)

I know it's been a little while since I've posted on here, but I just wanted to say that the unformatted versions of my translations are now on bluesky! I have to format these scans to post on instagram and tumblr, so I wanted at least one place to post them unformatted.

I originally posted them on twitter, but after I learned about the ai-scraping policy that was coming into place (at least at the time) I took it down as soon as possible (it also didn't get much engagement anyway). I did make an account shortly after, but it's taken me a bit to actually repost the scans on there. Tumblr is also the place I've gotten the biggest reach so far, so I thought I'd make an announcement here too.

And now I want to talk a bit more about some personal stuff (but it's still very important! (at least with the schedule)).

So after I posted that first chapter, I had originally planned to post the next one almost exactly a month later (late november at the latest). However, I fell behind with my planned schedule and my mental health in general just plummeted, so I was unable to really work on translating stuff. I have done the first and second drafts of some pages, but as a whole I've taken a break from translating Opening Show 2.

But! I feel ready to start working on it again. The chapter I'm working on is by far the longest, but most of the chapters after that are relatively short (some even under 20 pages). Also, with the manga officially ending (unclear if there's gonna be another manga series that covers the rtl events or even the shuffle team show) translating these as a whole should get a lot easier since I don't have to worry about catching up to the latest chapters.

I did aim to finish these right after each other, but from now on I think I'll have these come out once a month (once every three months if things get bad like before or I'm just busy). I've already missed a couple days of my new schedule, but if everything goes well there should be another chapter out before the new year (and I can finally move onto the DESIRE chapters yay!).

Anyways, hope you guys are having a good December/Christmas :D
