WIP Abandoned No More Tag List Clean Up
Alright, thought I'd be back posting in November, but election results in my country left me not wanting to write about anything political or related to reproductive choices/family planning. But, now that the sting has faded to a dull ache of inevitability, I figure I might as well dive back in.
Given that it has been years since I posted, I figure a tag list clean up is warranted. Apologies, this seems like my most recent list, but I could be very mistaken. As usual, this will be opt in. If I don't hear from you by December 3rd, I will take you off my tag list(s). A like means "leave me where I am."

I love how I work on like 3 fanfics at the same time because I have ADHD and constantly need different stimulation or whatever.
So, I have a third fanfic for Vil!
Body Swap!!
That’s basically it, but throw in my own twist because I like putting Vil in his place. It’ll take place during the beginning of VDC.
@solxamber actually solved my problem with their Idol post. I had this body swap idea for awhile, but I didn’t know how to make Vil leave MC alone to… basically ease his reputation into something better. Then the Idol idea came up and I was like “this is perfect!”
I commented on the post and thought “oh! I should tag them for helping me.” I looked at who posted it and freaked out, because @solxamber is amazing and such a good writer. So @solxamber thank you for unintentionally solving my problem. I appreciate it and love your work lol
So the Vil fans are really getting a lot of solid content in these next few days

RULES: Post the last sentence you wrote (fanfic / original / anything) and tag as many people as there are words in the sentence
Borrowing this from @katiedingo 's entry in the thread.
I can't share the last line I wrote for my primary WIP ("Irredeemable") because it contains a massive spoiler, but I can share the last line from my other, super-secret WIP:
She is beautiful, and she will be the death of me.
I'm not going to tag folks individually, but if you follow me and you're a writer and want to play along, please do! (And tag me when you post—I'd love to see what you're up to.)

have a lil snippet from the siren AU! changing up my writing process for this piece - I'm drafting this one in prose rather than my usual zero-drafty style, so we'll see how that changes things!
The first thing your uncle says to you when he picks you up from the station is: "Stay away from the water."
You pause halfway in the front seat, mouth still poised to shape the syllables of, Fine, how are you?
If this were coming from anyone else, you would have written it off as a joke. You may not know your uncle very well - you wouldn't even have recognized him if not for your mother showing you his picture before you got on the train. The crease between his eyebrows, though, tells you that this is not a man who smiles very often, let alone laughs.
"...What?" you ask warily, car door still open as though leaving yourself the chance to bolt right back onto the next train home.
"The ocean," Dojima clarifies. "You've never been, right?"
You shake your head. If you're being honest, there isn't much you're looking forward to about this trip - a city boy through and through, you're far too familiar with all of the horror stories about the countryside - but the one exception to that is the ocean.
It's one thing to know that you live on an island, to know that Japan is surrounded by water: the Sea of Okhotsk, the Sea of Japan, the East China Sea, and the crown jewel, the Pacific Ocean. But picturing it is something you've never managed to do. Sure, you've seen pictures of the ocean before - but where does it end? What must it feel like, to be faced with that much raw power? To gaze out at that endless expanse of blue, and see no end in sight?

wait ur making a fic?
Well yes? Many. At the moment, I actually have three in writing/posting progress:
Musical Chairs
Good Cop ‘Bad’ Cop
Misery Loves an Idiot
And I would like to actually add a chapter 2 to B is for Betrayal, so I’ve been writing that.
In addition I’ve been working on the Sweet Dreams series I started over a year ago (crazy to believe…) which includes:
Only the Best Dreams Come True - which is basically everyone who’s in the prison gets to experience one of Dream’s nightmares.
Dreamchaser - the sequel to Dreamcatcher
Dream a Little Dream of Me - the big finale for Sweet Dreams series

Hey crazy thought but maybe Kairi wouldn’t seem like such a ‘wasted character’ if this fandom would quit taking everything of narrative and thematic significance about her and assigning it to Riku constantly all the time.
(The evaluation of the ways in which Kairi and Riku are important and vital foils for each other got kind of long so it’s under a read more; to be clear, I love Riku so much, and it makes me super mad to see his narrative also being undermined by this trend, this is not a hate post.)
Kairi and Riku serve opposing but complementary purposes in the narrative. Kairi represents light, but she also represents the stagnation of the light. Many characters who are associated with just light are also associated with stagnation and a resistance to change. Hoder and Eraqus are particularly extreme examples, but Aqua exemplifies this as well. They want a predictable world where things stay as they ‘should’ be and they are threatened by changes to the status quo. Eraqus in particular refuses to change anything about himself for 60 years, only taking on students at the last minute because he’s running out of time. Kairi, like Eraqus and Hoder and Aqua, stands as the bold, sharp light that casts others into shadow.
However, the other side of “resistance to change” means that Kairi represents restoration. She is able to restore Sora in KH1, pull them home in KH2, and hold Sora back from death itself in KH3, because her power is one of restoration. She holds so tightly to their old way of being that she can stop death itself in the interest of not changing too drastically. But she is unable to move forward on her own, because she fears change too much. She wants to chase after the boys when they keep leaving her behind…but she isn’t able to keep up, because what she actually wants is for them not to run at all.
She wants to go home, and restore their previous status quo. This desire is consistent in her for the entire series; this is also why she is unable to let go of her childhood crush for Sora, even though he’s obviously not the person she wants him to be anymore. For Sora, Kairi is the rock, she is the home that will always be there, he feels that she is the secure dock he can always return to after the storm. He relies on her not changing, which reinforces her fear of change. Lea is similar, and they can bond in KH3 over both their mutual desires to restore a prior, idealized status quo where their friends were reliably there and not at risk of disappearing on them or running away from them or changing.
Riku on the other hand embodies transformation. He represents change to the status quo, growth and development and a new way to be. Too much change is as much of a problem as too little; Kairi in KH1 sees Riku wants change, and it scares her, and he does in fact go too far. At the same time, she’s the catalyst for Riku’s desire to change their circumstances. Kairi’s arrival at the islands in the meteor shower incites Riku to dream of going to the outside world. This too is a tension that creates an anxiety in Kairi - in a way, she can see herself as to blame for Riku’s desire to change. But Riku was always going to change, because that’s who he is. He is radical change, the change that cuts away restrictive dogma so that the world can advance. Riku drives Sora to also want to grow and change, to excel and challenge himself. Sora wants to be like Riku, whose strength and internal drive he admires.
Ultimately Kairi and Riku are in BALANCE with each other. Ironically, while Kairi is themed as ‘the sea,’ her narrative purpose is to be steady as the earth. Riku’s name is ‘the earth,’ but he is changing and dangerous as the sea. They are one another’s reflections in the narrative. Kairi’s arc is about learning to let go and move forward, even though it scares her. Riku’s entire arc is about finding balance, not throwing away the comfort of the past, that inoculates him from falling too far the way Baldr and Xehanort do. Riku can drive Kairi to join them by giving her a Keyblade too. Kairi can pull Riku back from fleeing from them by seeing him even under Ansem’s face. He is able to be in contrast with Kairi in a healthy way, in a way that honors her fears while also refusing stagnation. They have to work TOGETHER to find Sora, because they are one another’s narrative and thematic opposites. Kairi is too stagnant on her own, and Riku too volatile. Sora is the healthy middle between them, the center-point that can bind the light and the dark TOGETHER for one purpose.
Kairi is narratively and thematically important to Kingdom Hearts. She represents something, and trying to take the things that reinforce her narrative importance to the story (her representation of the light, her narrative purpose of ‘disruption’ in her arrival via the meteor shower, her position as the one who grounds Sora in opposition to Riku’s position as the one who drives Sora to push himself and achieve more) not only undermines her story, it undermines Riku’s.

Any Sport in a Storm has always felt kind of tonally weird to me? It does what it does incredibly well, but the thing that it does is defang Hunter as any sort of threatening presence to the main cast. But now that I've realized that season 2b's episodes were the first ones made after most of season 3 was cut, it makes a ton of sense that they had to speedrun Hunter's redemption arc, and Any Sport in a Storm is super important to making that arc believable. Honestly, they did a great job, it's just funny to me that Hunter's fandom personality was SO much more angsty before that episode came out.
And considering Hunter's redemption arc in the context of a longer show, I bet you that the Hollow Mind equivalent was originally part of the season finale. I don't think it would be the LAST episode, because the escalation and action for the whole cast isn't there. But it makes SO MUCH SENSE as the first episode of a two part finale, where we deal with the horible ramifications in the follow up. (It's also possible that there wouldn't have been a "trapped in the Emperor's mind" episode originally, and this was also just an expedient way to help Hunter learn the truth, but given the set up of Understanding Willow and how much great stuff they do with the idea, I'd like to think it was always there.)

Yaaaay, cooking another fic!
What can I say, I haven't written enough Umbra's fic tu fullfil my fangirlism. And my mind is running fast with a few Space Daddy's ideas right now! Sorry Ordis :(
Idk when I will post it on Ao3 but I'm sure it will have +3 chapters. So wait for the fic tittle —not just the first chap name! Because it will be too literal, haha.
Edit: so, this is basically my headcanon timeline (in spanish) from my series "Smiles of Juran". Waoh. I'm sick, haha.

i finally decided to Sophospost today, but it's a funny thing where Rafal hated the labor unions, especially in the capital, but only gave in to them because they were starting to get all "eat the rich" and to threaten the peace. It's a forgotten "stain" on Rafal's posthumous imperial reputation, but one that won't hesitate to resurface.
On the other hand, Sophos supports labor rights, unions, and workers' strikes. It's probably why some of his friends are children of prominent labor leaders.

If you like my writing...
I know there's a few of you our there. I can hear you scrolling.
WELL, STAHP!
The concept of a Well, There's Your Problem fanfiction has taken over my brain and I will probably be finishing it in a hyperfixated frenzy after a few more days. I am a postmodern absurdist and this is my Art! However WTYP is very niche and I am making so many in-jokes it is unreal. I am going to post this story/script here, but if you want to enjoy it, you'll need to be at least a little into this engineering disasters podcast.
I am referencing, specifically: The Kursk; The Silver Bridge Disaster; The Atmospheric Railway; The 1943 Frankford Junction Wreck; and (I think) either the Bhopal Disaster or Aberfan. Also, the Ghostbusters films (it's a crossover). I recommend you start with The Atmospheric Railway, it's not too terribly long and you'll find out if you like jokes about rat smoothies before you get into the darker stuff. I gave Ms. Caldwell-Kelly a chance to choose the forms of engineering disaster Gozer the Gozerian would take, but she didn't get back to me. Either I got lost in a torrent of asks or she thinks I'm nuts and fears me. She is not wrong, but I didn't have the patience to wait.
There are all of three fics of WTYP at AO3 and I don't think any of them are quite this... epic. Unhinged, yes, maybe, but not like this. I'll be lucky number four! But I'll post it to Tumblr too, so I can render the slides for ya. Here is a preliminary excerpt:
A (Alice, she still seems to be going by that in podcast land): Right. Right. So, I have a question for you, gentlemen: who, or what, was Ivo Shandor? L (Liam): Sounds like a billionaire. A: And he looks like a nonce! R (Rocz): An early 20th century architect. A: You’re both right, and so am I. He was also a quack doctor, a selenium mining magnate, a cult leader, and the last person ever documented to be ripped in half by an ancient Sumerian deity — after he resurrected himself in Summerville, Oklahoma, in 2021. L: Boss. R: I’ve been to Summerville. They have that temple he built at the bottom of a mine… Well, I mean, they did. Right up until he resurrected himself. You gotta watch out for that, with selenium. We used to use it in our electronics, but silicon’s better for that, and much less haunted. L: That explains the internet. R: I mean, we’re not using it for the internet. Mainly in glassmaking, and surge protectors. It’s all right in trace amounts, but you get enough selenium in one place and the ghosts start crawling out of the damn walls. You gotta put up at least a double-thick cold iron insulator, or some carbonated steel. Fucking expensive. Not worth it, unless you’re a big fan of the paranormal. A: Just so. In fact, next slide, please… [Slide: A collage of various art deco buildings.] A: …the paranormal activity associated with Shandor’s designs was so well-documented that by the mid 1950s, everyone who wanted to live or work in one of his buildings was required to sign a waiver, before even looking at them. I’ve looked everywhere for one of these waivers, but it seems like the mere association caused them to become hazardous as well. If anyone out there should happen to find one, for God’s sakes, email it to me, and then speak to your nearest mental health professional immediately. L: Take a Zoloft, you’ll be fine. R: Just walk it off. A: According to what I could find, the standard language indemnified the buildings’ owners against any and all instances of madness, brain damage, murder, suicide… You might have to bleep that, Devon… D [text over slide]: NO. FUCK IT. NOT AFTER THE DAY I’VE HAD. A:… mutilation, speaking in tongues, and — specifically! — “cranial liberation of the pineal gland!” [laughing] Whatever the hell that means! L [cackling]: What? R [deadpan]: Nah, I wouldn’t sign that. A: Well, I would, because these buildings fuck! I mean, look at those façades! R: I like these little gargoyles right here. [outlining a pair of gargoyles in red, paying special attention to the horns] With the horns. Technically these things are called grotesques, ‘cause they don’t have a drain pipe, but people just call ‘em gargoyles. That’s where we get the verb “to gargle” too. Not a typical feature of art deco design, but Shandor sure did like ‘em. They’re not really sure whether he had a sense of humor or if he was just nuts. L: Both, I like both. R: Could be both, yeah. A: Well, according to eyewitness testimony… R: Not very reliable. [giving each gargoyle a smiling face, with dots for eyes] A: …those stone statues came to life during the 1984 New York Incident — next slide, please!  [Slide: The Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man, with a caption saying Artist’s Depiction.] A: …and summoned a 100-foot tall marshmallow man who attempted to end all life on Earth as we know it. [crazed laughter, pandemonium] R: Yeah, I don’t know if I buy that. L: Sounds like another Macy’s Thanksgiving balloon snapped its tethers with murder in its heart. R: Yeah, those balloons are famously angry. Ever since they started using helium, it’s like they got minds of their own. All things considered, helium may also be haunted. A: Rows nine through eighteen of the Periodic Table are all fucking haunted. L: A Macy’s Thanksgiving balloon has black eyes, like a doll’s eyes. R: Yeah, I heard Snoopy ate a whole shipload of sailors during World War II. …Says here Sonic the Hedgehog injured a police officer in 1993, that really happened… L: Yes! Sonic says ACAB!
...Please, if you have never encountered WTYP, I promise you, I have not gone mad, that is eerily close to how it really is, and I am thrilled with it. I've written myself into a bit of a corner concerning Ms. Caldwell-Kelly's levitation powers and lasers vs. a possessed train, in that I cannot allow her to destroy the pocket dimension entirely or it will kill all of them, but if I can get over that little hurdle I should be finished soon.
...Okay, I know how that sounds, but look, if you're following because I curate a fun stream of content, I assure you, that is not what I am about. I do not quite have a strategy for fighting the algorithm yet, but it is my intention to share more things in progress so you at least know what I do. I know I SHOULD be getting Erik and Maggie together at the hotel, but I am not in full control of my intellect and I can only do so much with it.
I'll share a bit of Soldier On with only mild spoilers later, too, if that's okay. I'll try to put up at least a piece of something I've made or am making once a day. It's not perfect, but maybe if I send up a few flares someone will notice I'm sinking and send eyeballs. Thank you for your time and patience!

Continuation of this— Okay, if I do write a submas in Paldea fic, what trainer would you want to see taking the place of the player character/Arven, Penny, and Nemona's friend? More info about each under the cut!
Juliana & Florian: A pair of Paldean siblings who were homeschooled until their mother thought they were old enough to attend Naranja/Uvas Academy. Juliana's partner is Floragato while Florian's is Quaquaval. Florian is two years older than Juliana and in the same class as Nemona! He attends Uvas Academy while his sister goes to Naranja Academy (both are run by Clavell, of course. They differ by age group and study subjects, for the most part! No, I have no idea how the main story works if both Scarlet/Violet happen in one universe. But this isn't about the main story!)
Juliana is just begining to date Arven while her brother cheers her on from the side lines! I was debating between having Juliana/Nemona or Juliana/Arven, I settled with the latter since they're closer in age and attend more classes together.
Reader/YN: Typical reader insert, though they'll likely have a bit of spice to them rather than being the stereotype shy Y/N-chan. Their partner is Skeledirge, and they only recently came to Paldea, likely just for the education. If I end up writing a reader insert, there will be future polls deciding things like what their pronouns are, what their home region is, what school do they go to, what the rest of their team consists of, and etc!
The fic will also have a heavier focus on the reader's pov and bonding with the Unovan dragons— Platonically, because this is not a submas/reader fic. There might be pairings with other students, though!
Original Character: To-be-named. She will likely be based off my own experiences playing Pokémon— I started with Moon, so she'll have moved from Alola and be an official Alolan champion. She's a wild spirit who's Naranja dorm is overflowing with Pokémon. Frequently, she hosts picnics in Area Zero despite the laws against it and entering the area in general. She also he gets along splendidly with Nemona because of their shared passion for battling, but finds most people in Paldea to be frustratingly weak— *cough* Geeta *cough cough*. However, she does meet her match in Blueberry academy.
A large amount of the DLCs plot was altered because she was extremely forward with Kieran, insisting he date her immediately if she won against him in battle. (Which she did.)
If I end up writing her, she might critique in-game problems like the inability of most Pokémon to keep up with Koraidon/Miraidon, and otherwise break the fourth wall.

Animorphs play??
3 acts?
- fill in this part later I guess.
the whole time the ellimist is there on the side. Sometimes he’s reading a book, sometimes he’s moving pieces on a board game, etc etc. He pays attention at specific points.
Tobias gets his morphing power back. Hork-bajir valley is started. End of act 1.
Last scene before epilogue:
Rachel, switching between narrating and speaking to the ellimist:
There is a spotlight on her. The rest of the stage is dark, except for a soft light on the ellimist.
[you know the quote.]
I wondered if-
The spotlight goes out, cutting her off. Silence. Darkness. The light on the ellimist dims but doesn’t go out.
Epilogue.
idk what to do about the weird thing with “the One” at the end
