The fact that there are no recordings on the internet of Ray Toro performing with the muppets at the 2016 fundraiser for puppets and puppetry is a crime and a tragedy on par with the burning of the Library of Alexandria
#the fact that he and gerard were two of a pretty limited lineup of acts is pretty hilarious to me#the guy in charge of booking guests went: one broadway actor. several famous puppeteers. and 1/2 of american rock band my chemical romance.#end of list.#mcr#my chemical romance#ray toro#the muppets

Ariana and Cynthia were fantastic in their roles, but I do hate Jon M. Chu going everywhere talking about how he wanted to cast unknowns and then didn't. Like, idk man, again the casting in all of Wicked was phenomenal but how heartbreaking to the "unknowns" who auditioned to be told they had a chance and then passed over for a worldwide global superstar.
#idk man it's so hard to become a famous actor#so when a show advertises that they are looking for unknowns#it has to be a gut punch to see the final result#i mean#ethan slater was unknown relatively speaking for sure#but like how great would other broadway performers have been in those roles too#but also guess being an actor is having to deal with rejections like that#wicked

wow. making adam driver chuckle. that’s actually so cool he’s literally the Guy. you are so super awesome and cool for realsies (i am being serious i feel like this message comes off as sarcastic but it is not)
context for how i met him: it was at the stage door for the play he's in. so there were a LOT of people there waiting for autographs/pictures, it wasn't a spontaneous run-in on the street (i, personally, would never approach a celebrity if i saw them out and about).
i literally think i made him chuckle for two reasons: i was much younger than a lot of the women there, as a large majority of them were middle aged. which obviously isn't a problem, i just very much aware that i was outside of the target demographic lol! and also i very VERY nervously asked for a picture despite the fact that it was kinda a given that you would take one with him. it was stage door, of course people are going to be asking for pictures!
it was a very.... nervous introvert meets nervous introvert interaction. we barely looked at each other (that's perfectly okay with me). i didn't monopolize his time or try to have an in depth conversation with him because other people were waiting and i have no aspirations of making an impact on his life. (unlike some people... there was a lady there wearing this ugly ass shirt covered with adam's face and i, personally, could not imagine doing that and MEETING HIM WITH IT ON. like... have some decorum, please. it's doubly insane because the play was literally about celebrity culture and the way that people don't treat them as human... hm. )
we also spoke to his bodyguard before the show without realizing it was his bodyguard lol. just a nice conversation while waiting for the doors to open.
#also: i really *don't* like meeting people esp if they are 'famous' in one way or the other#that includes and is mainly limited to broadway actors#i also get overwhelmed very easily#especially in an environment like that#but adam driver was nice to me and that's all that matters#ask#anon

actually i do gotta say. that article i was interviewed for last summer. it was pretty surreal to be one of three people interviewed in an article and like to have one of the other ones be an original broadway cast member of wicked
#and the third was our artistic director who ALSO like has many many accomplishments. however. wicked.#just anyone clicking tht article would be like 'Oh [artistic director]! Oh [famous broadway actor]! who the fuck is this other person—'#grandpa max is god? i go to church now

Do you have an epub for A Parade of Paper Faces by LilahTeminaEast? The AO3 link (at least for me) is missing chunks of paragraphs. TIA!
We have the files for this story - it says completed and looks complete although tbh, I can't be sure since the author's note says they were going to edit it? Please let us know if these files are complete. Thank you! ~Lynne
A Parade of Paper Faces by LilahTeminaEast [PDF] [EPUB]
There are so many ways it could have happened differently, or not at all. Maybe Kurt got held up in traffic and wasn’t on that particular staircase at that particular time. Maybe he got caught before he made it that far into the school. Maybe he tapped on somebody else’s shoulder. Maybe Blaine was out with flu that day. Maybe Kurt never went to Dalton in the first place. Fast forward a few years. Kurt made it through McKinley, barely, and got the hell out of Ohio. Now he’s a Broadway actor just starting to make a name for himself. In fact, he’s recently landed a supporting role in his first movie, an action drama starring none other than uber-famous pop singer turned TV actor turned movie star Blaine Anderson…

It seems like you're a big fan of Warwick Davis, I was wondering if there are any other little people actors you really like, especially women and trans/nb actors?
Hello! Yes I do enjoy Warwick Davis! Willow (1988) remains one of my favourite LP films, and I've really enjoyed his career of fantastical characters.
Like a lot of industries, white men make up a lot of the most famous Little actors (Warwick Davis, Peter Dinklage, Danny Woodburn, Martin Klebba, Verne Troyer), so I'm happy to mention some of my favourites outside that group!
Linda Hunt is a favourite of mine - she's a Hollywood veteran best known for her role in The Year of Living Dangerously (1982) where she was the first actor to win an academy award for playing someone of the opposite sex!! She's been on Broadway, done tv, film, and voice acting! You may know her as Lady Proxima in Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018).
If you think you don't know Deep Roy, chances are you do! He's been a scale actor in countless award winning films including Star Wars (1980), Star Trek (2009-2016), The Never Ending Story (1984), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) and so many more! We owe so many beloved characters to scale actors and people hardly know it - Deep Roy has been responsible for dozens of them, I adore him.
Despite Patty Maloney's vast career in acting, I know her as Lois Addams from The Addams Family (1991)! Before my time she was in a variety of tv shows and films including Star Trek Voyager (1996), Little House on the Prairie (1982), and The Lord of the Rings (1978).
Cara Mailey is a young actress, author, presenter and activist! She's known for her role in Derry Girls (2018) and Read all About It! (2021), as well as her ebook "I Got This" - which speaks on her experience living with Achondroplasia. I wanted to be sure to give her an honourable mention because at only fifteen she's already become an activist for the LP community! I'm excited to see how her career evolves!
Thank you for the ask! Be sure to check these folks out!

Miguel As A "Boy Dad" !
boydad!miguel o'hara who isn't afraid to shower his son with love ♥︎
Miguel And Your Baby Bump ! ← previous part ♥︎
boydad!miguel o'hara who would come home from work late to find his baby boy surprising him by walking up to him for the first time. He felt a little sting in his heart because he couldn’t be there to watch his first steps but seeing Gabriel smiling ear to ear and greeting him made him feel much better. “Come here my love,” Miguel would say he crouched down with his arms spread out he would scoop up Gabriel, and smother him in kisses.
boydad!miguel o'hara who will always be the one to get up whenever Gabriel has a nightmare. “Daddy?… I had a bad dream,” you hear your son’s quiet teary voice call out with your door cracked open a smidge letting in the light from the hallway. Miguel slowly gets up as you sit up as well. “Go back to sleep Cariño[honey] I got it,” Miguel would whisper softly giving your head a soft pat.
boydad!miguel o'hara who would hold his little boy’s hand while walking him back to his room. The next morning you would wake up seeing that Miguel hadn’t come back to your room. You would peep into Gabriel’s room to see him and Miguel cuddled up on his Lightning McQueen bed. Miguel's body being far too big for the bed making you laugh to yourself hearing his soft snores.
boydad!miguel o'hara who would always take note of the things that Gabriel liked. Gabriel liked Hot Wheels? Miguel would come with a whole race track. Gabriel liked Star Wars? He would plan a family costume for Halloween. Gabriel liked Legos? Miguel would randomly come home with a Lego Death Star for them to build.
boydad!miguel o'hara who was always so protective of Gabriel when the two of you found out he was allergic to peanuts. He always checked everything before he ate them. The two of you also wiped all peanut products out of the house. Miguel always has his Epi pen wherever they go.
boydad!miguel o'hara who helped Gabriel make his first crush a Valentine. He went out late at night and got candy and arts and crafts supplies so they could make a handmade card for his crush. “What if she doesn’t like me back?" Gabriel asked worriedly. "How could she not like you back? You’re a nice boy and you look just like your mother, which makes you the most handsome boy in the world because your mom is the most beautiful woman in the world, he explained giving Gabriel a pat on the back as he left for school.
boydad!miguel o'hara who always went to his son's events and supported him whether it be his baseball games or the musicals that he was in. Miguel took time to practice with him in your front yard and took you Gabriel to see your favorite productions on Broadway. Miguel was convinced Gabriel would be a famous musical theater actor.
boydad!miguel o'hara who would document Gabriel's life from his first "Dada" to his first baseball game, all the way to his first musical, the time he came out to his family, and his wedding where he married his awesome husband.
boydad!miguel o'hara who went all out every Pride Month all throughout Gabriel's high school career after he came out to the family. Nothing made Miguel happier than the fact that Gabriel felt comfortable coming out to the two of you as his parents. He felt the most accomplished as a father knowing that his son felt like he could tell him anything.
boydad!miguel o'hara who loves his son unconditionally.

Edward Everett Horton (Holiday, Top Hat, Arsenic and Old Lace)—Edward Everett Horton was a character actor who appeared in over 100 films between 1923 and 1971 who excelled at playing nervous, tightly-wound characters encountering mishaps or otherwise out of the element. You only have to watch his world-famous double take to see why people kept hiring him as the nervous best friend of the main character, a put-upon suitor to a leading lady, or the person in charge of making sure the show was a big success. A 1940 article in Time Magazine stated that “In all his contracts, Horton includes an unwritten clause that he shall not be compelled to play a married man, kiss a woman, have any children.” This does not reflect the roles Horton actually played, either before or after 1940, but it does sum up his vibe pretty well, his vibe being “gay and anxious.” It’s a wonder he’s not already tumblr’s favorite character actor! In another article about a Broadway run of Springtime for Henry (a show that Horton toured around the country, to the tune of more than 3,000 performances in his lifetime) he’s described as having a “persimmon face, crow beak nose and scissor lips” which feels pretty “scrungly” even if, at six foot two inches, Horton doesn’t really fit the definition of “little.” He steals just about every scene he’s in, thanks to his excellent expressions and impeccable comedic timing, managing to be funny and believable. Or as Horton himself said “The reason people think I’m funny is because I remind them of someone they know. Somebody who probably annoys them considerably, but for whom they really have an affection”.
Ed Wynn (Mary Poppins, Babes in Toyland)—you cant have a scrungle if you cant have a dapper silly guy who' s floating on the ceiling ! now can you !
This is round 2 of the contest. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. If you're confused on what a scrungle is, or any of the rules of the contest, click here.
[additional submitted propaganda + scrungly videos under the cut]
Edward Everett Horton:

He was just perpetually anxious, and being around Fred Astaire trying to woo Ginger Rogers, or whatever Cary Grant was doing would make you anxious. I just feel delighted every time he graces my screen
youtube
i know he's already in but he's the funniest character actor who ever existed so have some additional propaganda for the most perpetually startled and put-upon and woe-betide-me crumpled napkin of a man to ever sigh beleagueredly on the silver screen. master of the double take, the triple take, maybe even the quadruple take. he's in SO many movies and he bumbles and scrungles his way exquisitely about all of them with the deft precision of his comic timing and the minute flicker of every facial expression. he's the odd little man i'm always happiest to see pop up anywhere. tends to play a charmingly ineffectual fussy bachelor in need of a tums who things are always happening to.

Hancock fans PLEASE tell me you also fuck with Danny Shorago because that man is INSANE in the best way and belongs on Broadway. It blows my mind that he’s not famous. He’s not even a voice actor. Like HOW did he end up voicing Hancock, HOW is his voice not celebrated?
