You ever think that Monty might not be Esther's first familiar? Oh he's the one she has now. And maybe she's had him for a while, a couple years maybe even a few decades. But he isn't her first.

Because Esther isn't the type to keep her old toys around, she finds them and makes them into what she needs and keeps them for as long as they continue to be useful to her. And eventually there comes a spell or a potion or something of the type that requires a sacrifice of something close to her. And what do you know, she has this quaint little familiar right here. Something that relies on her, and knows only her and is oh so replaceable when you live as long as she does.

Monty isn't her first familiar, and he's probably not the first one she's ripped apart and put back together, but she's all he ever knew.

I’m a sucker for little details and Dead Boy Detectives does that SO WELL SJSJ

So without further ado here’s a not-so-comprehensive-or-complete list of my fave little details from the show (and if you haven’t seen it yet. GO GO GO)

1. Edwin and Charles’s movements. The way they mimic each other, tilt their heads at the same angle at the same time, the silent conversations, UGHHH

2. Charles finding Edwin in Hell EXACTLY MIRRORING Edwin finding Charles when he was dying (ie the dying one turned away, wrapped in a blanket with no hope and the saviour standing above them looking like a goddamn angel, holding a lantern)

3. I didn’t count but I bet if I did I would see exactly 147 cats (King included. When I do my rewatch I’ll count for sure)

4. The music choices!!! I knew this show would steal my heart when they played Hang On To Yourself (one of my favourite Bowie songs OF ALL TIME) in the first episode, and I was EVEN MORE SURE when they played Disorder (also one of my fave Joy Division songs)

5. The cat king wearing a skirt :)

6. Any nod to the Sandman honestly I loved that show too I was so hyped when Death and Despair popped up

People say that dreams are the opposite of reality. The more beautiful a dream is, the sadder you will be after waking up. Because dreaming of someone means you can't be with them or have lost them. Now, I can only see my mother in dreams. So it doesn't matter whether it's a beautiful dream or a nightmare.

btw i love revenge stories i dont think anyone should ever move on peacefully. a bit obsessed with the way weissman went to the synagogue and rabbi and asks, "my choices killed a child. would god take mercy on someone like me?" and the rabbi says "it's not god's mercy you should look for. its the child's" and like you think that would spur this man into charitable activities and to maybe look out for orphans but instead he goes on a 24 hour revenge bender that ultimately ends in two revenge killings and his own death. what's better than righteous anger and wrath and love twisting someone into the worst but also a truer version of themselves <3

this started when starrie and i were talking about our OCs, and i said:

and so we decided to draw our Eclipses and our self-inserts haha 😂

FUN FACT: we didn't know what the other was drawing, we wanted to keep it a surprise. and it just so happened we shared the same braincell when it came to posing Eclipse 😂

Fear Factor belongs to @starriegalaxy!! definitely go check it out and all the drabbles starrie writes (if you're an Eclipse fan, might i suggest Special Attention 👀 because it's a piece of art and also because i want to make sure starrie remembers that she wrote this piece of art)
