Complete set of 6 chrome cantilever MR10 chairs by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, in brown leather. This set of chairs is an early 1960s example of his famous design produced by Knoll International. The MR10 chair was first designed in the 1920s, and this set of six features the chrome springs on the backs and seats. Later the design was improved, with a shortening of the springs and a reversion to an elastic corset cord. The chairs still bear the oval sticker marks on the back of the bottom of the seats.
MR10 chairs are really comfortable, and are a real design classic, as seen in many films and other media. Our MR10 chairs recently have been used to decorate the interior of a restaurant in London, which was featured in Architectural Digest, Dezeen, Elle Decoration, and many other publications (as shown in the images, which are property of Child Studio).
Two of the chairs have the complete set of springs; the remaining four, as you can see from the images, are missing some springs, and the leather punctured holes are ripped off. All of the cantilever frames are in great condition, with the expected 80 years of wear. We sell the chairs in their original vintage condition as seen, and that is reflected in the price of the set. If you wish to restore them with new leather, in any colour, please let us know and we can assist you.
Please note these chairs are available with four options: the complete set of 6, and then three pairs of two.

Mortal (film)

'WCW WORLDWIDE' 01.02.93 - Steamboat & Douglas vs. Windham & Pillman, THREE Dustin Rhodes Appearances
Tumblr media
AIRDATE: January 2, 1993 COMMENTATORS: Tony Schiavone & Jesse “The Body” Ventura
The inaugural Worldwide of 1993 features a Unified Tag Team Championship main event as Ricky Steamboat & Shane Douglas defend against Barry Windham & Brian Pillman. Also on the show Erik Watts takes on Bobby Eaton in a Bounty Match and Dustin Rhodes wrestles not once, not twice, but THREE times.
CHAMPIONS
WCW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: Big Van Vader
WCW UNITED STATES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: “Ravishing” Rick Rude
WCW WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPION: Scott Steiner
WCW/NWA UNIFIED WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat & Shane Douglas
LINEUP
Dan Spivey vs. Scott Allen (SQUASH)
Dustin Rhodes vs. Danny Deese (SQUASH)
2 Cold Scorpio vs. Chris Sullivan (SQUASH)
BOUNTY MATCH: Erik Watts vs. Bobby Eaton (*1/2)
Dustin Rhodes vs. Dan Spivey (*3/4)
Ricky Steamboat & Shane Douglas [c] vs. Barry Windham & Brian Pillman for the WCW/NWA UNIFIED TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP (**1/2)
*****
-LAST WEEK: A brawl breaks out between Ricky Steamboat, Shane Douglas, Barry Windham, & Brian Pillman leading to this week’s main event for the Unified Tag Team Titles.
“Dangerous” Dan Spivey vs. Scott Allen
Spivey dominates right from the bell, clubberin’ and clobberin’ and putting Allen out of his misery in short order with a DDT.
Dan Spivey defeated Scott Allen via pinfall (1:22)
JON’S RATING: SQUASH
-Eric Bischoff hosts this week’s WCW Magazine segment about the booming tag team division in WCW, showcasing a music video for up and coming team Tex Slazenger & Shanghai Pierce. HELL YEAH BABY, IT’S GODWINNS TIME.
-Ventura welcomes Tony Atlas to the interview stage. Atlas asks when Van Hammer is going to accept his arm wrestling challenge (it’s happening January 13th at Clash of the Champions but I guess the Power Hour crew doesn’t talk to the Worldwide crew).
“The Natural” Dustin Rhodes vs. Danny Deese
Ventura mocks Rhodes’ theme song, saying studies have shown cities where “goat-roping” music is popular have higher suicide rates. Made me laugh but also YIKES. Not much to the match, Rhodes wins with a Bulldog.
Dustin Rhodes defeated Danny Deese via pinfall (1:45)
JON’S RATING: SQUASH
Schiavone welcomes the victorious Rhodes to the interview stage. Rhodes tells Barry Windham to watch his back because he’s going to finish what Windham started. Dan Spivey interrupts and challenges Rhodes TONIGHT, Rhodes agrees. Yeah alright, lessgooo.
2 Cold Scorpio vs. Chris Sullivan
Sullivan surprisingly is all offense to start, including a slap that sends Scorpio flying off the apron, but Scorpio quickly regroups and gets the win with a slingshot 450 Splash.
2 Cold Scorpio defeated Chris Sullivan via pinfall (1:19)
JON’S THOUGHTS: Chris Sullivan is billed from Hawaii but looks like a bus driver from Ohio. Go outside once in awhile dude YOU LIVE IN HAWAII. Scorpio switching it up with a slingshot 450, which is somehow even more impressive than his regular one. How did WCW ever get a wrestler so damn cool and innovative as 2 Cold back in the early-90s? You’re right, it was money. (SQUASH)
-Eric Bischoff is here with the second WCW Magazine segment of the night, this time focusing on the feud between Erik Watts and Rick Rude. Rude beat Watts on last week’s Saturday Night but Watts got the shine by beating the count after Rude tried to put him out with a Rude Awakening on the floor. Watts is in action next!
-EARLIER TODAY: Arn Anderson is upset that he has to relinquish his shot at the bounty on Erik Watts’ head due to injury but his partner Bobby Eaton is going to take his place. They’re the dirtiest players in the game and Watts will be the sacrificial lamb.
BOUNTY MATCHErik Watts vs. “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton [w/ “The Enforcer” Arn Anderson]
Eaton attacks Watts in the aisle, Watts sends him flying with a backdrop and enters the ring. Anderson gets in his face, Watts sends him packing with a right and goes back to Eaton, connecting with a monkey flip and series of rights. Watts goes for the STF, Eaton quickly scurries to the ropes to force a break and bails to the ground. Ventura announces that Rhodes/Spivey WILL be happening after this match. Cool. Watts bounces Eaton off the concrete floor and follows up with a 3 Point Stance lariat. Anderson distracts Watts, Eaton wipes him out from behind. Anderson gets a shot in, Ventura applauding him for returning the favor from earlier because he’s the fairest commentator of all-time. Eaton connects with a neckbreaker and comes off the top with the Alabama Jam, Anderson distracting the ref so he doesn’t get DQed (top rope moves are banned in WCW at this point still), and covers for the 1…2…WATTS KICKS OUT. Anderson intervenes, Watts double noggin knocks the dastardly duo and locks in the STF on Eaton for the win!
Erik Watts defeated Bobby Eaton via submission (3:40)
JON’S THOUGHTS: Erik Watts was set up to fail by his father, who ran WCW at the time he made his professional debut. Just cruel to put his son’s feet to the fire in such a high profile way. He ended up being pretty okay in the end but it didn’t end up mattering, sadly. ANYWAY the match itself was alright, Anderson & Eaton did what they could. Not sure why there’s a bounty or what the bounty is, it was only mentioned on commentary and not by the ring announcer. (*1/2)
“The Natural” Dustin Rhodes vs. “Dangerous’ Dan Spivey
Spivey attacks Rhodes right at the bell, leveling him with a clothesline. Rhodes stuns Spivey with a bionic elbow and sends him scurrying with a pair of dropkicks. Rhodes follows him out and gets his head rammed into the apron for his troubles. Rhodes catches Spivey with a kick and rides him to the canvas with a lariat. Rhodes works Spivey’s arm, Spivey backs him into the corner but misses a running elbow and Rhodes takes him back to the canvas with an armdrag. Spivey yanks Rhodes’ bad arm (he’s got a cast on thanks to an attack from Barry Windham last year) and goes on the offensive, slamming Rhodes on it for the 1…2…Rhodes kicks out and Spivey gator rolls the arm over the apron, snapping it on the hardest part of the ring. Rhodes charges, Spivey connects with a Japanese armdrag and covers for the 1…2…Rhodes kicks out. Rhodes counters Spivey with a belly-to-back suplex and catches him with another lariat for the 1…2…Spivey kicks out. Rhodes and Spivey knock the wind out of each other with a double clothesline, Rhodes gets to his feet first and heads to the top. Spivey tries to slam him off, Rhodes hangs on and turns it into a cover for the 1…2…3!
Dustin Rhodes defeated Dan Spivey via pinfall (5:27)
JON’S THOUGHTS: Disappointed, to be honest. I don’t know WHAT I was hoping for necessarily but that wasn’t it. Liked the finish though. (*3/4)
Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat & Shane Douglas [c] vs. Barry Windham & “Flyin” Brian Pillman for the WCW/NWA UNIFIED TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
Both teams continue their brawl from last week, Steamboat putting Windham into the lights with a backdrop followed by a double axhandle and double chop. Douglas tags in and grabs a side headlock. Windham counters out with a drop toehold and makes the tag to Pillman. Pillman & Douglas trade shots, Douglas fights out of the heel corner and grabs a wristlock, Steamboat tags in and slams Pillman on his now bad arm. Pillman begs off, Steamboat gives no f*cks and connects with another hammerlock slam. Douglas tags in and the champs hit a double back elbow. Pillman blinds Douglas and tags Windham, the challengers connecting with a double clothesline. Windham cleans Douglas’ clock with a right hand, Douglas reverses a whip and connects with a powerslam for the 1…2…Windham kicks out. Windham regains momentum with a flying forearm followed by a scoop slam. Douglas tries to make a tag, Pillman keeps the legs tied up and tags Windham who attacks Douglas. Douglas gets tossed over the top rope behind the ref’s back, Pillman rams him into the side of the apron. Windham snaps off a suplex, floating over into a lateral press for the 1…2..Douglas kicks out. Windham covers again, Steamboat stops the count. Pillman tags in and distracts the ref, Windham chokes Douglas and Steamboat runs over to put a stop to it. Douglas has Pillman pinned but the ref is too busy trying to send Steamboat back to his corner. DAMMIT DRAGON. Pillman slows it down with a chinlock, Windham giving his partner extra leverage by grabbing his legs. Windham tags in and bounces Douglas’ head off the top turnbuckle for the 1…2…not yet. Windham follows with a lariat for the 1…2…Douglas kicks out once again! Pillman tags in, Douglas counters a flyin Brian with a kick to the teeth.
Windham tags in but SO DOES STEAMBOAT AND IT’S DRAGON TIME BOYS! Double chops and slams to Windham and Pillman, Steamboat sends Windham to the floor with a chop. Steamboat pummels Pillman, Windham takes Douglas out of the match with a DDT ON THE CONCRETE FLOOR. Hope Douglas took it better than Steamboat did back in ‘86. Windham launches Pillman onto Steamboat for the 1…2…STEAMBOAT KICKS OUT. Windham tags back in and connects with a belly-to-back suplex for the 1…2…not yet. Dustin Rhodes runs out and checks on Douglas but he’s out of it. Steamboat tags Rhodes in, WHICH THE REF ALLOWS FOR SOME REASON, who pummels the hell out of Windham. Pillman attacks Rhodes from behind, Steamboat attacks Pillman but gets sent to the apron. Rhodes fights off Pillman and nails Windham with his cast for the 1…2…3!
Ricky Steamboat & Shane Douglas/Dustin Rhodes [c] defeated Barry Windham & Brian Pillman via pinfall to retain the WCW/NWA UNIFIED TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP (11:52)
JON’S THOUGHTS: I’m with Ventura, Rhodes interjecting himself and taking over as Steamboat’s partner was unfair and should not have happened! MISCARRIAGE OF JUSTICE, A PLAGUE UPON THEIR HOUSES, etc. and so forth. Good match overall, Steamboat being the consummate babyface while acting like a sh*tbag heel is the best. (**1/2)
-It’s Eric Bischoff again with the third and supposedly final WCW Magazine segment of the episode, taking it to Van Hammer who accepts Tony Atlas’ arm wrestling challenge.
-Schiavone and Ventura interview Barry Windham & Brian Pillman, who are still steaming about their loss. Pillman says he’s been participating in organized athletics since he was a child and has never experienced such a despicable display. Windham vows to paint Rhodes’ rear yellow as the odds are never even when they battle.
*****
FINAL THOUGHTS
If you’re into Dustin Rhodes then you’re gonna love this episode of Worldwide. Three matches in the span of an hour? Somebody in the office likes this guy. Good episode, lots happening start to finish and Bobby Eaton being the consummate professional by helping make Erik Watts look pretty damn good out there.

Get Away With It
A/N: Here's my contribution to this week's Weasley Wednesday prompt🧡 It was supposed to have smut, but I'll save that for next time. I wrote half of this on a train, so please don't judge too hard.
Summary: Garreth accidentally spills butterbeer on one poor gal, but it's not the only way he gets her wet.
It was a rowdy night at the Three Broomsticks, and Sirona was up to her neck with work, managing overall operations, ensuring there were enough seats to house the constant trickle of patrons coming in, all while keeping a close eye on the boisterous students of Hogwarts that sat about here and there. There were some troublemakers amongst them, and Sirona knew to keep an even closer watch on a few, specifically, the fifth-year boys roughhousing it up upstairs on the second landing. She'd already given them a scolding a few times to keep their shenanigans to a respectable decibel, but alas, boys will be boys and were apt to forget the scolding as quickly as they received it.
The volume of their voices was beginning to increase again, and Sirona was starting to entertain the thought of kicking them out for the night when she caught sight of you on the far edge of the counter serving a goblin. You were one of the few students she had employed part-time for busy nights like tonight, and Sirona couldn’t help but wonder if your peers would be more inclined to listen to you before she gave them the boot.
“Everything alright, Sirona?” you asked, counting out the change before placing it in Arn’s hand with an affectionate smile.
Sirona sighed and rested her hip against the counter. “Do me a favor, will you, love? Your friends are starting to upset my customers.”
“Starting to upset you, you mean,” you laughed softly. “Why don’t you just ban them until graduation? It would make your life so much easier.”
"And so much duller," said Sirona as she tenderly rubbed her temple. "I'm too fond of you all for my own good. But that won't stop me from sending Professor Weasley an owl if they don't simmer down soon. Be a dear and give them one more warning for me, will you?”
“Yes, ma’am,” you rounded the counter and made your way upstairs, the chorus of their laughter growing louder with each step you took.
Upon reaching the next landing, you were greeted by the sight of Leander and Everett locked in an arm-wrestling match while several fifth-year boys looked on with rapt attention. There were some familiar faces here tonight too. Sebastian was booing Leander from a far corner while Ominis dozed beside him, Arthur, Andrew, and Amit were too busy debating who'd come out the victor, and Garreth was placing bets with Eric and Duncan. Your arrival caught Garreth's attention, and he looked up with a mischievous smirk.
“Here to see the show?” he nodded his head towards the spectacle, eyes roving over your figure as he appreciated the rare sight of you out of uniform.
You shook your head, ignoring the warmth blazing up your cheeks in response to the raw hunger in his eyes. “I’m here to break it up. You lot are causing too much ruckus.”
“After I beat Clopton,” gasped Leander, his face beading with sweat as his hand quivered against Everett’s.
You heaved a sigh as you placed one hand on your hip. “Unless you all want detention, you’re breaking this up now.”
“And who made you prefect?” Eric snickered. As much as you’d like to hex his legs to jelly on the spot, you were on the clock and needed to return downstairs. Wordlessly, you flicked your wand to move Leander and Everett’s chairs apart.
“Final warning,” you threatened darkly before heading back down. The boys knew you weren’t one to be trifled with, but that didn’t stop some of them from jeering at you from the railing as you reached the ground floor.
Peeved, Eric decided to chuck a galleon at you. The glint of gold caught Garreth's eye, and his heart jumped into his throat at the realization that it would hit you square on the forehead. Instinctively, he lunged forward with his hand outreached, tipping over the wooden railing precariously to snatch the galleon. He felt the metal against his tightly clenched fingers and breathed a sigh of relief.
But a dreadful gasp rang across the crowd, and Garreth looked down to find you wholly drenched in butterbeer. In his haste to save you, he failed to notice the massive pitcher on the table next to him, its remaining contents dripping lightly on your head. He must’ve bumped into the table and toppled the pitcher over when he blindly rushed forward.
Garreth reluctantly dropped his gaze down to your face, only to be greeted by your intensely furious glare. He cursed under his breath, his heart dropping from his throat down to the pit of his stomach as you stomped off towards the bar, your face heating up as you felt the entire room's gaze on you. Sirona cleared her throat loudly, and everyone returned to their business, pretending they didn't witness all that.
“You alright?” she asked, voice full of concern. You nodded quietly as you blinked back the tears that threatened to spill. Sirona couldn’t blame you. It was humiliating, and it happened for all to see. You were simply doing as she asked, and it wasn’t nice to be heckled and have butterbeer thrown down your face. Sirona drew her wand with a guilty sigh. “Here, we can dry you off.”
“No,” you shook your head. “It’ll just make it sticky. I’ll have to take a bath to get rid of it.”
"I understand. Have the rest of the evening off," said Sirona kindly. "Best believe Professor Weasley shall hear of this."
You untied your apron and dumped it in the bin in the back before grabbing your cloak and striding out the double doors with a huff. Garreth and the others watched you leave atop the first floor, many of them guilt-stricken with how they had treated you. It was all good fun, and they didn't expect you to take it so harshly.
“Someone better go after her and apologize,” Ominis’ voice cut through the silence, “before this wand grows a mind of its own and starts cursing people.”
“I volunteer Northcott,” Sebastian crossed his arms. “I saw you throw that coin at her. Pretty sizeable one, too.”
Eric clenched his fist, holding his shoulders stiff so they wouldn't cower. “The coin never even hit her! It was Weasley who got her all wet!”
“To catch the bloody galleon you threw!” retorted Garreth. He ran a frustrated hand through his hair. How was any of this his mess to clean up? “I’m going after her. But if my aunt gives us hell, I’m ratting you out.”
He hurriedly raced down the steps before flying out the door after you. Leander returned his chair to the table and cocked his head at Everett. "Oy Clopton, bet you five sickles they'll end up shagging."
“That’s a stupid wager. I’ll bet you five galleons he won’t.”
Leander balked. That was a steeper price, but five galleons were five. "Deal."
Outside, Garreth's feet carried him down the main street of Hogsmeade and out unto the pathway that circled the black lake. You couldn't have gotten very far. But when he turned his head to search for you along the winding path that led back up to Hogwarts, there was no sight of you.
“Revelio,” he whispered with a swish of his wand. From the corner of his eye, he could barely make out your incredibly faint retreating figure headed towards the dock in an isolated corner by the black lake. Garreth chased after you, alerting you to his presence as stones crunched loudly under his footsteps. "Where are you going?" he called after you. "The castle is that way!"
“I’m not going to Hogwarts!” you yelled over your shoulder.
Then where were you going? Garreth sorely wanted to ask but figured he'd get his answer soon. He followed you towards the dock, his confusion becoming befuddlement as he watched you toss your shoes, wand, and, finally, your cloak aside. "Hold on now, what're you-?"
You don’t even consider letting him finish before you dive straight into the lake, disappearing into the murkiness of the dark waters below. Garreth rushed to the dock's edge, searching for any sign of you, but it was far too dark to see anything.
"Have you gone mad?!" he cried out, kneeling to peer through the surface. Maybe you swam back to the castle? No, that wasn't it. Your belongings were still here. It could be you shared Nerida's fascination with Merfolk and wanted to see them for yourself? That didn't make sense, either.
Garreth awaited your return with bated breath, and his insides began to gnaw with restlessness as seconds passed until you broke through the waves with a deep gasp for air. "Shit," he jumps, clutching at his beating heart.
“Scared you, didn’t I?” you grinned deviously, pushing wet tendrils of hair away from your face.
“Worried me is more like it,” he seethed. “What possessed you to jump into the lake at this hour?!”
"I had to wash the butterbeer off," came your reply as you splashed around, rinsing off the last residue.
Garreth raised an eyebrow. “Aguamenti couldn’t have done that for you?”
“Haven’t learned that spell yet," you shrugged, paddling around now for enjoyment. The night was unusually warm for this time of year, and Garreth was sorely tempted to take a dive himself. But that wasn’t what he came here for.
"Here to see the show?" you inquired. "Or did you come here to mock me like the others?"
While your tone may have been friendly, your eyes had an accusatory glint that frightened Garreth just a little. Was it because of the mockery you experienced earlier, or was he ogling too much at your drenched figure? It didn't help that your skirt was billowing around you, giving Garreth a glimpse of long, bare legs leading up to-
He cleared his throat. “Imsorryforspillingbutterbeeronyou.” The words came out in a mad rush in Garreth’s effort to switch his focus back to why he was here in the first place.
“I beg your pardon?”
Garreth took a deep breath and forced himself to look away from you, fixing his gaze on the moon breaking through the clouds overhead. “I’m sorry for spilling butterbeer on you,” he enunciated slowly, “It wasn’t intentional. Northcott threw a coin at you, and I dove forward to catch it. I knocked the pitcher by accident, and it spilled on you. And… I’m sorry the others treated you that way. That wasn’t very kind of them.”
Your shoulders sagged. Your irritation at the others didn't dissipate one bit, but you felt remorse for the way you lost your temper. Despite your better judgment of his character, you quickly assumed Garreth had purposefully poured the beverage on you, which set you off. In all transparency, anyone else could have done it, and you would have knocked them out with a simple jinx before going about your business. But the mere fact it was Garreth bothered you immensely. Why? What was so special about him? What did he possess that could have evoked such a visceral, knee-jerk reaction from you?
Well… it wasn't what he had. It was what you harbored: a growing affection for the boy before you that he never seemed to notice when others already had. You'd been teased high and low by the other girls, goaded by Sebastian, and encouraged by Ominis. You even suspected Leander knew, judging from the several times he'd asked you to study with him and Garreth in the library. Only, he'd bail because he suddenly had somewhere he forgot to be, leaving you alone with Garreth.
Therefore, the notion that sweet, warm, and jolly Garreth would intentionally cause you embarrassment in front of others struck you with a sense of rejection, and the pain erased any capacity for logical reasoning. You had stormed off to the lake to wash away the butterbeer along with your tears and your anger. And now that you were thinking clearly as you looked straight into the sincerity within Garreth's, there was no way he'd do such a petty thing on purpose… at least, not with you.
An idea struck you, and you suppressed the playful grin that threatened to curve the tip of your mouth. "I'll accept your apology," you kept your expression blank, “If you take my hand.”
You reach an arm above the water as though you were asking him to help you up. Garreth smiled, gripping your hand firmly before you snaked your other hand up to his wrist to pull him deep into the watery depths.
Garreth opened his eyes when he felt fully submerged underwater to get his bearings, and the next few seconds seemed to slow into eternity as the sight of you nearly took every ounce of his breath away. You looked positively ethereal with the moon high up in the sky, beaming through the surface in all her soft glory. Your skin glowed in reflection of the heavenly light above, your hair bloomed around you, swaying with the rhythm of the lake’s current, and your dress floated around you, displaying glimpses of your stomach, your thighs, all the way down to your toes.
The soft curves, the delectable dip in your hips, the pink and white undergarments that left very little to the imagination, Garreth hungrily took everything in and wanted to see more. His finger itched to feel every inch of your skin, and his cock- well, it had been standing at attention for a while now. There was no guessing what that one wanted. You swam back up for air, and Garreth followed suit.
“Sorry,” you laughed. “I couldn’t resist pulling you in.” You swam to the dock, grabbing the edge to lift yourself up. But Garreth had other plans. If you wanted to play, he’d play. Before you could perch a knee up on the dock, he grabbed you by the hem of your skirt. “Garreth, what in the- oof!”
He pulled, and you fell right back in. It was Garreth's turn to laugh. "Sorry, couldn't resist,” he echoed.
"Rude," you splashed him in retaliation, and Garreth pretended to take offense, splashing you back until the air rang with the sweet thrill of your laughter.
“Music to my ears,” he finally slowed to catch his breath, grinning ear to ear. “Have you had enough yet?”
"Yes," you shivered slightly. The chill was starting to seep to your bones, and the peculiar way Garreth's eyes pierced you sent a thrill down your back that definitely had nothing to do with the water.
"Come on then, let's get you out of here before you catch a cold." He hoists himself up, and you can't resist watching the water race from his rippling shoulders down to the swell of his bottom.
“Nice,” you thought admiringly.
“What is?” asked Garreth, turning around with an outreached hand to help you up.
Your eyes grew wide as he pulled. “Shit. Did I just say that out loud!?”
"Were… you just checking me out?" A teasing smile lifted the corner of his lips. Flustered, you grabbed your wand and occupied yourself with a drying charm.
“No,” you responded too quickly, doing anything to avoid looking at his face.
“Shame,” Garreth said, mimicking your movements to dry himself. “I’d have let you look to your heart’s content after having seen your pink and white panties.”
You choked back a gasp and tried to push Garreth back over the dock out of embarrassment. He grabbed your hand and swiftly pulled you close, his other arm circling your waist to lock you in place. "You push me down; I'm taking you with me," he breathed into your ear. "I've had enough of the lake tonight. What say we continue this somewhere warmer?”
"Oh, we're continuing this?" the words barely escape your lips without stammering as your breath hitched. Garreth was holding you tight, and you could feel his hips against yours, a rigidness subtly rubbing you from between his legs.
He leaned even closer, his breath hot against your ear. “Surely you don’t expect to tease a man and get away with it, do you?”
You clenched your legs together and cursed at the pulsing ache that spiked through your center. Garreth Weasley seemed hellbent on getting you wet in more ways than one tonight, and you were dying to see exactly how he’d stop you from getting away with it.

What Turned me Gay (Not Really) - Bearhugs
For me, my fascination with gay pro wrestling all started with a single wrestling hold.
What turned me gay (not really) ...
Tumblr media
Alex Wright v Paul Roma (WCW wrestling - Feb'95)
This post, inspired by the sidelineland.com blog, takes a tongue and cheek look into "what made me gay (not really)" and while I've focused on what awakened my inner gay, the bearhug was definitely a prequel to all of that. You see, the bearhug was something that a part of me enjoyed before I even knew what being gay meant.
Tumblr media
Shawn Michaels v Sycho Sid (WWF)
Tumblr media
Chase la Chance v Stud Arrogant (muscledominationwrestling.com)
Tumblr media
Ash Deleon v Richie Douglas (bgeast.com)
Tumblr media
Kal the Wrestler v Champion Cheetah Boy (ucwrestling.com)
Tumblr media
Mitch Colby v Cole Cassidy (bgeast.com)
Whenever I think back to my first memories of pro wrestling, the image of a muscled stud getting bearhugged is cemented in my mind. I don't even know really who the guy is but I do remember the agony, the shared struggle, and yes, the closeness the two wrestlers shared in a bearhug.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kevin & Mike Von Erich vs Rick Rude & Dingo Warrior
This was before I started watching wrestling, but the Von Erics, Rick Rude, and the Ultimate warrior in a single match would've been heaven
From that point on I was completely hooked.  I don't think my feelings were even sexually charged back then, but that image and that moment, was something I just couldn't let go of.  The imagery of a hero fighting to hang on while his opponent presses on with all his might to break him, is forever sealed in my thoughts.
Tumblr media
Mark Jindrak v Spike Dudley
Tumblr media
Arn Anderson v Ronnie Garvin
I don't know why I like wrestling - it is the point of this blog after all, but what I can say is that the sight of a sweaty, beefy wrestler squeezed by another champion awakened it all inside of me and eventually started my addiction to gay pro wrestling.

hi i have a little 18th century german boy oc and u r the only german person ik . i want to strike a deal . if u suggest German names i will give u cat pictures
A lil 18th century German oc? Oh boy oh boy those dudes had terrible names like Gerhard, Eberhard, Reinhard…lots of hard huh…
But here are a few German names (also a bit Nordic, cuz I’m a bitch living in the north and c’mon Hanse <33) which I believe to be rather timeless and free of the grandpa stamp:
-Hans
-Erik (also Eric)
-Anton
-Till
-Emil
-Mats
-Fiete
-Lars / Lasse
-Konrad (also Conrad)
-Fred
-Moritz
-Jannik (also Jannick, Yannic, Yannik, Yannick…)
-Gustaf (also Gustav)
-Arne
-Phillip (also Fillip)
-Finn
-Jakob
-Jan
-Nils
-Julius
(Not me searching through my followers on insta to look up my classmate’s names…👹)
Those would be a few that come to mind when I think of timeless names that guys had in the 18th century and today. When we think about 18th century people specifically, I just think of writers and artists of that time, like:
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (<3) and his boyfriend
Friedrich Schiller,
Gotthold Ephraim Lessing,
Joseph von Eichendorff (<3),
Caspar David Friedrich (<3),
Heinrich Reinhold…etc. etc…
As most last names, Germany’s last names are an indicator for the occupation someone had (unless there’s a von, that means they’re nObLe), here are some examples:
-Schmidt
-Weber (hehe)
-Bauer
-Müller / Möller
-Koch
-Schneider
-Fischer
-Meier/Meyer
-Wagner
-Becker
-Hoffmann
-Schäfer
-Wolf
-Neumann
-Zimmermann
-Krüger
-Köhler
Etc. etc….

I'm gonna do that Wrestling Empire mod, I'm just still in the planning stages so there's not a ton to show. But I have tentative rosters about half done! Also I need to figure out a name for the project, naming is not a strong suit <_<
Anyway the rough draft of what will replace Super Lucha Libre is under the cut! It's WCW with some Lucha Underground and CHIKARA guests. Good time to note that these are based on a mix of notability, personal preferences, face/heel/tag team balance, and yeeting the most problematic of the IRL people.
Faces: Sting, Lex Luger, Goldberg, Booker T, Rey Mysterio, Dusty Rhodes, Diamond Dallas Page, Road Warrior Hawk, Road Warrior Animal, The Giant, Edith Surreal, Jigsaw, Rey Fenix, Drago, Son of Havoc
Heels: Buff Bagwell, Arn Anderson, Meng, Ultimo Dragon, Chris Jericho, Eddie Guerrero, Scott Steiner, Raven, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Delirious, Larry Sweeney, Pentagon Jr., Johnny Empire, Mil Muertes
Non-wrestlers: Dario Cueto, Nick Patrick, Eric Bischoff, Tony Schiavone, UltraMantis Black

Rencontre d'Arles, Septembre 2023
Telerama.

Where The Big Boys Play: The Launch Of WCW Monday Nitro & The Return Of Lex Luger
Professional Wrestling has been on television for years. In the 1990s, the hottest wrestling program on television was WWF Monday Night RAW. However, a new Monday night wrestling program would be aired. This article will be about the launch of WCW Monday Nitro.
World Championship Wrestling was a part of Jim Crockett Promotions in the 1980s. Jim Crockett Promotions is a professional wrestling promotion based out of Charlotte , North Carolina and ran by the Crockett family . JCP is also well known for being associated with the National Wrestling Alliance ( NWA) . In 1988 , Entrepreneur , Ted Turner , acquired most of JCP and made it into a subsidiary company called the Universal Wrestling Corporation. Thus, in 1993, WCW became a solo promotion after a dispute with the NWA over authorization of the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. This happened in the late Summer and going into Fall of 1993. A few months earlier before becoming a solo promotion, WCW was financially struggling until Eric Bischoff , a former WCW commentator, took on the role of Executive Producer. In 1994, Ted Turner appointed Bischoff as the Senior Vice President of WCW. In this role , he had control over the creative direction and finances of WCW.
Eric Bischoff’s goal for WCW was to reform the promotion by taking it from the image of a ‘ Southern ‘ Rasslin Company ’ to a modernized wrestling promotion. He would increase production, avoid house shows that didn’t bring in revenue, increased the amount of Pay-Per-View shows , cut down on the number of commentators with a Southern accent, and scouted out top talent from the WWF in order to get them to join his company. Wrestlers such as ‘ Macho Man ’ Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan , WWF’s most popular wrestlers would accept Bischoff’s offer to join WCW and would leave the WWF. Nevertheless, Bischoff would take WCW to a new level in 1995.
Eric Bischoff’s idea for the company was to create a flagship wrestling program to go up against Vince McMahon’s WWF Monday Night RAW , which aired on rival TV network, USA Network. Bischoff would get the approval for his new idea from Ted Turner. Therefore , WCW Monday Nitro was launched on the TNT Network to go head to head with RAW. Nitro would have the same time a lot as RAW , giving viewers a choice to choose which program to watch.
The inaugural episode of WCW Monday Nitro would air on September 4,1995. The show would take place at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. Eric Bischoff would be joined on commentary by former NFL star , Steve ‘ Mongo ’ McMichael as the Babyface Color Commentator and Bobby ‘ The Brain ’ Heenan as the Heel Color Commentator. David Penzer would be the in-ring announcer ‘ Mean’ Gene Okerlund would be the interviewer. The introduction video would feature wrestlers such as Sting , Big Van Vader, Macho Man Randy Savage, and Hulk Hogan. Savage would be released due to fight with Paul Orndorff in the locker room. Nitro would only be an hour long. The first match to kick off Nitro was Jushin Thunder Liger vs Flyin’ Brian ( Brian Pillman ). Also, fans would see a vignette of Mr. Wall Street ( FKA Mr.IRS ).
There would be a dark match before Nitro would go live on TV. It would be a tag team match consisting of The American Males , Marcus Alexander Bagwell and Scotty Riggs, vs Bunkhouse Buck and Duck Slater w/ Colonel Robert Parker. The American Males would win.
Other matches would include the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship match between Ric Flair and Sting. This match would end in a no contest due to an inference by Arn Anderson. The main event of the evening was for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. Big Bubba Rogers ( FKA The Big Boss Man ) , would challenge Hulk Hogan. Hogan had a manager during this time , ‘ The Mouth of The South ’, Jimmy Hart. During the match , Bischoff would be doing play by play commentary as McMichael and Heenan would be cheering for Hogan and Rogers. Hogan would defeat Rogers and become the new WCW World Heavyweight Champion. Nevertheless, a surprise return would happen as Hogan was being attacked by the Dungeon of Doom.
Lex Luger rushed down the ring to help Hogan against the Dungeon of Doom before getting in his face and confronting him. Hogan would tell Luger to go back to where he came from. During the confrontation, Sting and Randy Savage would rush to the ring to help Jimmy Hart try to break up the confrontation. Gene Okerlund would come to ring to interview both men. Luger would wrestle for the WWF for two years as one of the top stars of the company. However , he had his final match for the company the evening before he came to WCW. He would sign with the company the morning before his surprise appearance. Luger would explain his reason for his return. He wanted to challenge Hogan for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship and that he was tired of playing with ‘ kids’ , referring to his time in the WWF. Hogan granted Luger the match by shaking his hand and the match would be made official on the September 11 episode of Monday Nitro. The camera would cut to Bischoff, McMichael , and Heenan as they were talking about the match before signing off. Lex Luger’s return to the WCW would inspire two other WWF Wrestlers , Razor Ramon ( Scott Hall ) , and Diesel ( Kevin Nash ) to join the company in 1996 as The Outsiders.
Vader would never wrestle on Nitro and decided to sign with the WWF in 1996. Monday Nitro would find success due to the nWo and defeat RAW for 83 weeks. The final episode of Monday Nitro would take place on March 26,2001. Eric Bischoff would go on to be a General Manager of Monday Night RAW and be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2021. He is also the host of the podcast 83 Weeks.
My Final Thoughts:
The launch of WCW Monday Nitro changed the landscape of pro wrestling. If it wasn’t for Eric Bischoff changing WCW and giving viewers Nitro, there wouldn’t be a Monday Night War. The nWo wouldn’t exist if Nitro was never created. WCW Monday Nitro was a show that I would enjoy if I was born earlier. I was born in 1997. Nitro changed how we view wrestling on TV and showed how wrestling promotions fight for supremacy as WWE and AEW , the two most popular promotions on TV today do.
Love You All,
- Kay
