How does Greed feel about Tumbler and How does Envy feel about Rummer and vice versa (i mean by that how do Rum feel Envy and Tum feel about Greed)

I think the feelings between the cupbros and their brother's counterparts are complicated at best.

It's very easy for Greed and Rummer to fight. Rummer resents Greed deeply. Everything bad that happens to him is all Greed's fault. And in a strange roundabout way, he's kind of right? Greed loves to lean on others and get more responsibilities dropped into Rum's lap.

But in the same breath, Greed doesn't really do the same to Tumbler. He picks on him, sure, but he picks on everyone. And Tumbler doesn't hate Greed either! But to be fair, Tumbler doesn't really hate anyone.

Envy has a mean, one-sided anger towards Tumbler. Envy strongly believes that anything Tumbler does, he can do. He can do it better and he can do more. Any attention Tumbler gets is attention Envy should be getting instead. Tumbler, on the other hand, doesn't really get why Envy acts so rudely towards him. He tries to be nice!!

On the other hand though... Envy finds it hard to act that cruelly towards Rummer. Sure, it sucks when Rummer gets doted on by the other workers. But it doesn't hurt as bad? And Rummer doesn't blame Envy as much as he does Greed.

It's hard, especially when they look so much like their brother.

You ever like somebody you start to hate them?

Love and hate are often referred to as two sides of the same coin, but no one ever tells you how someone gets to that point.

You could start by admiring them, maybe liking them, wanting them to be part of your circle, or friend, a mutual. You start to admire this person and you put them on a pedestal, thinking they’re above you. Just look at them! They’re amazing! Yet at the same time, you want them to see you as an equal. But when you get lack of attention, lack of praise from them, maybe all that they give you isn’t enough— you start to question yourself.

“Am I good enough, then? That can’t be it, maybe I’m just overthinking.”

Maybe you watch in silence, at a distance, hoping they approach you instead of the other way around. And you watch. And wait. And nothing. This is getting annoying. When are we gonna become equals?

Then there’s that lackluster attitude towards you that just ticks you off. Or maybe they do something that just makes you think that you could’ve done the same thing but better. You start to envy them. You want to start being above them.

What if they know about your admiration? Are they seeing you in secret? Are they paying attention? See me? Are you seeing me?

You still like them, but, why are they still not seeing you as an equal? It’s annoying. You start to hate it. And you start to hate yourself. And you start hating them. But you love feeling that, and you love them. So why aren’t they your equal? You are good, and they are wrong for not realizing that.
