As a 12 year old with a drawing tablet and a homemade Weebly site about seagulls under my belt, I was already some kind of tech expert in their eyes, and earned a fair amount of pocket money throughout high school offering dirt-cheap website & logo design services. (Child labor or entrepreneurial spirit? Who's to say.) Years later, through the powerful force of word-of-mouth-advertising and the fact that the venn-diagram intersection between "people who know what an SSL certificate is" and "people who know what an oracle card is" is razor-thin, I find myself somehow still in this field, & spending my days composing emails to the tune of "Please, sire - I know your angels guided you to make this massive blurry stolen JPEG of a unicorn your homepage background, but might i suggest... not... that?" Since taking power, Starmer has pursued a policy agenda that’s barely distinguishable from that of his Tory predecessors. He’s scrapped almost every genuinely progressive idea the Labour Party had to offer, hastened the creeping privatization of the National Health Service, waged a campaign of financial austerity against poor and sick people, endorsed anti-trans bigotry, authorized inhumane “raids��� against immigrants, pursued a variety of “tough-on-crime” crackdowns, and cozied up to right-wing media baron Rupert Murdoch, all while purging principled leftists from the Labour bench and installing former Tories. Words are cheap, but actions reveal a politician’s true character. With every passing day, Starmer has proven that the Conservatives’ rule over Britain never really ended at all. Because in every way that matters, Keir Starmer is a Tory himself.

In the European edition of Politico, we can find a comprehensive list of all the Labour policies that Starmer once claimed to support, but later walked back or completely abandoned. Abolishing tuition fees at British universities? Gone. Nationalizing the “Big Six” energy companies? Gone. Offering universal childcare to all British children? Gone. Increasing taxes on the rich? Never heard of it. Abolishing the absurd, archaic institution of the House of Lords? Indefinitely on hold. Rent control? Not a chance. And so on, and so on. In place of these ambitious goals, Starmer started speaking fluent Conservative, saying that his priority was “growth, growth, growth” and citing self-imposed “fiscal rules” for why each new program couldn’t be afforded. At one point, he even cited Margaret Thatcher as a figure he admired, saying she had “dragg[ed] Britain out of its stupor by setting loose our natural entrepreneurialism.”

Christen Press and Tobin Heath are history-making soccer players, World Cup Champions, Olympic Gold Medalists, equal pay trailblazers, and co-founders of RE-INC, a company built to reimagine a more inclusive and equitable future for all. As beneficiaries and champions of Title IX, and two of the most skilled soccer players in the world, Christen and Tobin have used their platform to advocate for equity in sports and are inspiring leaders working to ensure future generations of players benefit from increased support and more opportunity.
CWLC will also be honoring our Angel City Football Club, the women-owned Los Angeles’s National Women’s Soccer League team entering their third full season. Lula Is Losing His Touch With Brazil's Working Class
The Brazilian president is becoming more unpopular, a sign of dissatisfaction with his passé governing style and a serious warning ahead of next year’s election.

The polls are clear: This is the worst moment for Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in his three terms as Brazil’s president.
Just 24% approved of Lula’s job in February compared with 35% in December, his lowest rating in office, according to Datafolha. Worse for Lula, the survey signals he’s losing support with the working class and voters in Brazil’s northeast, two of his main constituencies, and he can’t connect with an emerging entrepreneurial class that’s growing in influence. A separate poll by AtlasIntel published last week also shows a steady deterioration in support for the former union leader, with more than 50% now saying his government is bad or terrible.
This fundamental dissatisfaction among Brazilian voters is unlikely to be reversed with social programs or cheap loans, some of the patented policies of this hero of the Latin American left. And it should be cause for alarm at the Palácio do Planalto: Winning a historic fourth mandate next year will be much tougher for Lula than he envisions, despite his current lead in the polls.
What’s harder to explain are the underlying reasons behind the president’s growing unpopularity. Yes, the trend coincides with worsening expectations in Latin America’s largest economy. Fueled by the government’s reluctance to undertake meaningful fiscal adjustments, inflation has remained stubborn, forcing the central bank to boost interest rates aggressively, an approach that in turn should cool down activity as witnessed in the fourth quarter. After reaching the lowest level on record, unemployment has ticked up for two consecutive months, hitting 6.5% in January.
Yet the data don’t capture the reasons behind Lula’s popularity plunge, which involves something deeper than just a change in expectations. After all, the economy has grown by more than 3% per year during the first half of Lula 3.0, with record real wages and booming social spending. Most Latin Americans would rejoice in that performance, making the president’s abrupt rejection even more intriguing.

By the end of the four-year cycle, the campus hosts 216 residents, creating a diverse and dynamic environment.
Located in the harsh, sun-baked desert, the Androbesity Campus is a self-contained oasis where no one needs to venture outside. The campus is also a hub for research into supporting the complications and modifications required by an obese adult population. AO Corp, the organization behind Androbesity, is developing products designed to promote obesity and make it more socially desirable. Their efforts extend to media development, including informational programming, reality shows, and scripted series, all aimed at making an obese lifestyle more visible and accepted. Some former AO Men have already transitioned into careers as paid actors for AO Media, becoming the faces of this new movement.
The men arrive at Androbesity with varied backgrounds, each bringing their unique perspectives and experiences. They are introduced to a world where their size is not just accepted but celebrated. Here, they live and work remotely, supported by state-of-the-art facilities that cater to their every need. 19 November 2024: Queen Rania visited the King Hussein School of Computing Sciences at the Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT), in conjunction with the university’s participation in Global Entrepreneurship Week.
Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, PSUT Founder and Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees, and PSUT President Wejdan Abu Elhaija, welcomed Queen Rania at the university, and led her on a tour of the King Hussein School of Computing Sciences. Established in 2005, the school offers Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Computer Graphics and Animation.
The school, which boasts a 96% employability rate among its graduates, is internationally recognized for its quality education and research, with accreditations from the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) for its Computer Science program, and a EUR-ACE accreditation for its Software Engineering program.
Her Majesty stopped by an IT lecture before attending another on artificial intelligence, where students were presenting projects on using AI to address societal challenges. The Queen also watched students analyze and respond to a simulated real-time cyber-attack. Her Majesty also met with several other students gathered at the university’s canteen, and talked to them about their learning experiences.
Established in 1991 by Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan under the auspices of the Royal Scientific Society (RSS), the Princess Sumaya University for Technology is home to the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship (QRCE), founded by Princess Sumaya in 2006 to support innovation and entrepreneurship as vital components of sustainable development. Trump made the new pick after withdrawing his initial choice days before she was scheduled to go before the U.S. Senate for a confirmation hearing. In a Truth Social post on Wednesday, Trump said he was choosing Dr. Casey Means, a practitioner of so-called “functional medicine” who is a close ally of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr, citing her “impeccable ‘MAHA’ credentials.” He claimed Means, who completed her initial medical education at Stanford University’s medical school but dropped out of an ear, nose and throat residency program at the University of Oregon and currently has no active medical license, would “work closely” with Kennedy “to ensure a successful implementation of our Agenda in order to reverse the Chronic Disease Epidemic, and ensure Great Health, in the future, for ALL Americans.” Trump’s decision to nominate Means came after he made the decision to withdraw his initial pick, Dr Janette Nesheiwat, marking the second time one of his top health care policy picks has faltered before being considered by the U.S. Senate. Nesheiwat, a former Fox News contributor who is also the sister-in-law of former Trump White House National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, had been selected to be one of the country’s top public health officials largely on the strength of her record as a television personality.
