hello there, angel
[ID: Digital illustration in color of Vash and Wolfwood from Trigun Maximum. Vash is sitting facing the viewer and holds a rose between his clasped together hands, but he’s looking to the left, upwards, at Wolfwood, with an awed expression. Wolfwood hovers over him with wings sprouting from his back. He has a cigarette lit between his lips, his arms and legs are crossed, and he looks back at Vash with a neutral expression. The both of them are covered in a blue shadow, casted by Wolfwood and his hovering form, while warm light hits the back of his wings and over Vash’s legs. Small feathers sits next to Vash. End ID]

My romantic f/o, the love of my life uwu.
Tumblr media
Somehow ALSO my romantic f/o from the same source. How I fell for him I have no clue lol.
But considering I fell hard for cartoon Beetlejuice when I was 17, I'm not totally surprised.

for the scene thing, arthur and that fucking bird that flew off with him.
|| Send me a scene that happened in canon and I’ll write in detail how my muse felt in it! ; accepting!!
Warnings: none, really, aside from arthur being a brat
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
It began as a pleasant day in early summer, the sun warm and bright with a strong breeze out of the west. To make the morning better there were no meetings in the day's plans, no tournaments or events that necessitated the King's presence. Even the Saxons and Romans both had seemingly chosen the day to be at peace, as no word of skirmishes on the borders reached him at all. None to interrupt his quiet breakfast in his quarters as he read through any missives that had arrived before dawn.
So what better way was there to enjoy such a day than to declare an impromptu and unofficial holiday of sorts?
"If anyone needs me, I'll be riding through the hills on Llamrei today," Arthur declared with a smile, ignoring both how Bedivere stiffened behind him and the immediate way his brother's head snapped upwards from his own plate. It almost seemed painful how quickly he moved. Impressive, really.
"What."
It wasn't a question so much as a statement. Kay's voice was flat, eyes narrowed and brow furrowed. An expression that, when paired with his scowl, would surely make children cry should they suffer the sight of it. But for Arthur, who had lived nearly his entire life with Kay as his foster brother, it was simply another glare. Another look that showed both anger and confusion and, of course, annoyance. An eternal mix upon the older man's face, it seemed.
"I don't believe I stuttered, Kay. I plan on taking advantage of this fine day free of any emergencies to spend some time riding on my horse. She's been cooped up long enough, I would say."
"Your Majesty, I..." Bedivere coughed lightly, stepping around to stand beside Kay, laying his remaining hand on the eldest of their trio's shoulder. "I must insist that if you do so then you take one of us or the other Knights with you. The dangers if you were to be ambushed alone are-!"
The King sighed, shaking his hand dismissively.
As much as he deeply and secretly loved Bedivere, which was more than Arthur could ever truly express, there was no denying the older man's tendency to fret. Ordinarily endearing, in this instance it was frustrating more than anything. Rare was the day now that he had any time to himself and the idea of an escort when all he wished was to relax was... Unbearable. Truly. Even if he admittedly did understand his knight's worry, and Kay's annoyance. Arthur hated the idea of admitting that their concerns held weight, however. Especially when the day was so pleasant outside.
How he longed for the days when there was no weight of a crown upon his brow.
"I dislike the idea of an escort, so if you must have eyes on me then at least do so at a distance that is sufficient enough to keep from interrupting my free time. Perhaps a watch on the parapets?" Judging by the twitch of both their brows, neither Kay nor Bedivere appreciated his tone. But there were no further arguments.
A victory, then.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The wind felt even better on his face out here beyond the walls of the castle.
Arthur huffed, smiling brightly, as he closed his eyes, head tilted skywards. Wind combing through his hair, armor discarded in favor of something light and comfortable for riding, and the warmth of the sun on his skin. What could be better than this? Well, there was the lingering guilt from so callously dismissing his brother and dearest friend's concerns but... Ah, well. He would make it up to them later, the King decided.
For now he was content on Llamrei's back, surrounded only by grass and hills and the open sky.
Then, something changed.
Llamrei whickered, shifting her weight nervously as a shadow crossed the sun. Arthur felt his smile drop as he opened his eyes to squint against the bright light. There, a bird of some sort was circling high above. It almost seemed to be a hawk of some sort, flying so high that it was difficult to discern had the wheeling motions not taken it across the sun.
Nothing truly unusual and yet...
Something felt wrong.
"...Let's head back for now, Llamrei," Arthur started, tugging on the mare's reins lightly. "I'm sure you'd like some oat- Good gods!"
The exclamation burst forth without meaning to as the bird suddenly tucked its wings and began a dive directly towards the man. Growing larger and larger, until it was far larger than any normal bird ought to be, talons the size of short swords spreading wide. And then it was all a blur as the air was punched from his lungs. Distantly over the rushing in his ears Arthur could hear Llamrei's whinny, growing further away somehow. Blinking the stars from his eyes, air finally filling his lungs once more, the King froze in terror.
Rushing below him were the familiar green fields.
One of the bird-like monster's taloned feet was wrapped firmly around his middle, pinning his arms to his sides. And all Arthur could do was pray that he wouldn't be dropped as it continued to fly north without hesitation. Each wingbeat was heavy, combating the occasional gust of wind that seemed determined to drag both man and beast to the unforgiving ground far below.
'Ah... I really should have let Bedivere and Kay accompany me...'
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Arthur didn't know how long the bird flew, nor how far, before it landed, still holding him up in one set of talons like a prize. He could at least say he recognized its perch, a rocky outcropping of a cliff just south of one of the borders with Rheged. Tall enough that it could easily be seen through the trees around it. Tall enough that if it were to drop him from this height, he would die regardless of the protections Excalibur's sheathe granted him.
But the bird did not drop him.
Instead it continued to perch there, dangling the King in the air all the while. For what purpose he couldn't figure out at all, but eventually there was a familiar shout from the trees below.
Green eyes opened from a half-doze, staring down to see a half-dozen of his knights down below. And his teacher as well. They were gesturing wildly though the distance only distorted their words to almost incomprehensible echoes. All Arthur could truly make out was a frustrated curse from what sounded like either Gawain or Lancelot about Tristan's absence. The King sighed to himself, eyes drawing inevitably towards a familiar head of silver hair in the mess before a sharp clap drew the knights, and his own, attention to Merlin. Something was being discussed.
An argument broke out, for a moment, the men's voices rising in apparent protest. Before, inexplicably...
They began to strip off their armor. And their clothing.
"...What the actual hell are they doing?!" Arthur half whispered, half shrieked to himself in shock. Even from this height he could see their muscles, though some part of him felt immediate disappointment at Bedivere's lack of undress, and it was enough to make his face burn in embarrassment. Gawain, blessedly, had also chosen to keep his clothes on, removing only his cloak for the...pile.
A pile of clothes.
Did...they intend for him to fall to his likely death with only a pile of clothes to cushion him?!
Idiots.
All who went along with this "plan" of Merlin's were idiots.
And apparently the bird-thing agreed, it's massive head tilting slowly as if it too were wondering what stupidity was happening on the forest floor. Before, slowly, it hopped to the left a few feet. An unpleasant experience, as it made Arthur's stomach churn uncomfortably with each bounce.
Judging by the exclamations down below... No one had accounted for this. And Arthur could only sigh, closing his eyes in exhaustion and despair as the idiocy continued for hours.
Back and forth the bird would hop each time the men below would move the makeshift cushion. A dance that had no end in sight until, finally, it came to an end with the bird dropping the King none-too-gently on the cliff and...changing. Shrinking down into a man who was wheezing with laughter. An enchanter who had sought to simply sow some "harmless" chaos in Camelot on a day when they'd had little else to do.
Arthur could have killed the man, his teacher, and easily half his knights that very instant.
"Your Majesty-?"
"Sir Bedivere, Sir Gawain, could the two of you accompany me back to the castle. Alone. These...gentlemen can finish this discussion without my presence." Arthur paused, turning to glance at Merlin over his shoulder with cool green eyes. "...Merlin, meet me in my quarters later."
