2024 – An incredible year! It’s new for me to have enough for an art recap, let alone an animated one. For years I'd been in “survival mode”, too burnt out to create anything unless it was for work.

Since the latter end of 2023 and all of 2024 I've been kinder to myself. I understand how I work better, figured out what works for me more. Embraced more of what I enjoy and found that spark again. I'd like to build on all I've learned, but if I fall short that’s okay too.

Thank you to everyone who’s found my little corner of the internet and showed immense love and support. I’m glad so many have enjoyed my lil animations and really appreciate everything so far. Unintentionally made this a Sonic-focused account, but I love all the fun and friends that’s brought along. Gives me an immense boost to keep going into next year, so I hope y’all stick around a bit longer!

Parafraseando a mi yo de hace 5 años, "el mundo no se va a tornar mágicamente rosa porque el 4 se vuelve 5, pero pasar página nos va a traer un montón de esperanza". Es curioso como cada año que pasa siento que fue el más desafiante de mi vida, pero irónicamente 2024 no me lo pareció así (aunque sí pudo serlo). Y es que quizás llegar a los 30 fue un balde de realidad que ha servido para darme cuenta que la vida no es tan mala. No hablo desde el privilegio, sino de la madurez cuando digo que pese a las calamidades vividas, se surfeó satisfactoriamente 366 días y los moretones están verdes, los árboles retoñan y el pasto sigue creciendo. Ahora entiendo que los dolores y alegrías son parte de un todo, y está mal pero está bien. Y es súper necesario llorarlo pero también respirar despacio y abrazar la esperanza, como cada año, que se mantiene firme. Ya no se escribe tanto, ya se escucha más. Se va quien se va, llega quien llega, nos mantenemos o nos vamos también. Seguimos cambiando pero ya no tanto; seguimos aprendiendo, que es lo que más nos gusta. Seguimos mirando ojos que no nos miran y esquivando a aquellos que observan de lejos. Es la vida. Se aprende con los errores, se cometen los mismos errores; quizás no quieres aprender. Pero se vive. Muy en el fondo, es la conciencia susurrando que ya vivimos muy rápido e hicimos lo que quisimos, ahora queremos vivir mejor, despacito, viendo las nubes desde el suelo, manteniendo cerquita a quienes nos aman y queremos para toda la vida. Más que decir, sentir los "te quiero". Reaprender que las cosas no son eternas y las personas mucho menos, o se alejan o se van a la nube más alta, aunque permanezcan. El frío tiene remedio, la ausencia no tanto. Ver el mundo con los mismos ojos que tenías a los ocho mientras leías revistas de viajes. Experimentar en la cocina recetas inventadas para tu familia. Ver viejas pelis de toda la vida. Emocionarse de nuevo. Sonreír con extraños que pronto dejarán de serlo. Cantar bien fuerte. Creer en ti. Apapachar mucho al niño interior que ni toparía lo que estás haciendo ahora, pero si tú te acuerdas de él cuando lo vas logrando, imagina lo que siente él. Te vas 2024, y tenemos uno nuevecito, lleno de "áreas de oportunidad" o desastres inmensos, qué más da. Que tengas el mejor año de tu vida...

Even if you feel like you have only survived this year, it’s still a hell of an accomplishment. I’m glad you made it through the end. I hope the next year will be kinder, softer, and that you’ll get to do more than survive. I hope you live the life you wish to live, I hope you thrive, and find some peaceful stability. I’m proud of you for surviving everything you faced this year. It’s not an easy thing to do, sometimes all our energy goes to trying to survive and we might feel like we haven’t had time to do what we actually wanted to, and that’s incredibly unfair. But it doesn’t mean you didn’t do anything important this year, because surviving isn’t a waste of time, it is an achievement to manage so many problems. It’s good that you tried to cope with what life threw at you. These things brought you here, and I’m proud of you. I hope next year will be better for us 🩵

For today's shop update I'm releasing *everything* we currently have on hand (besides sample sale or defect items) in one last huge drop for the year!!

We're gearing up for a move soon, so this will be it for a good while. The only other drops in the near future will be a sample sale & defect set after I can get pictures of everything, and then The Fall Collection extras after we fulfill preorders next month. We'll then be moving at the start of February, so the shop will be closed end of Jan - mid Feb (exact dates TBD).

Beefro's Annual Report 2024

I have been tagged countless times regarding a recap and/or what I was thankful for by so many wonderful friendos - but I'll give credit to @jolapeno for kicking us off.

This time last year, there were only 400 of you following me while I wrote my silly little stories. I had no idea how the year would go, from coming close to deleting everything to finding a community of people and friends who I now count as irl besties. I changed up the content I write and have explored all sorts of new things with the love and support of all you.

One Shots:

Purpose: I know, I know... I have hooted and tooted about this fic before, but I really loved this so much. The fact that @perotovar loved it also makes this extra sweet. I know I am not known for seriousness and such, but I loved the experience.

like a cigar: I love this one for many reasons but chief among them is the brainstorming with @noxturnalnymph and @strang3lov3 that brought it to life. That evening will stay with me from now until the day I yeet from this mortal coil and I love you both so very much.

what the hell is wrong with tim: A vanity project that sat in my wips for 5 months. I started it because I wanted @pedroscouts badges for 'Sex Pollen' and 'Tim Rockford'. Then all hell broke loose and in to the wip bin Tim went. I finally dug him out and plugged away at it and the end result is one I am proud of. I worked hard for Tim... and all he got was pussy-fluid induced conjunctivitis and an eyepatch.

Shorties:

For the Stars: This one was brought about for my beloved Deedle @bitchesuntitled - she has worked hard on her sobriety, then wisely and bravely chose to celebrate it with her community. I was honored to get to take part in this celebration.

Ezra Goes to Church: @toxicanonymity knew what we needed during the summer and brought about the Manspread Olympics. This shortie, sitting at 350 words, has brought me so much joy. A titan's girth in so few words.

Series:

There are Other Fish in the Sea: This one came from a deep place of ouch. I had found a community on here who enjoyed the same things I did and it blew up in my face bc some people cannot play nice in the sand box. I still remember sending this idea to a beloved moot and their response was "I'm sorry, what are you going to do to Frankie & Mouse???" It was cathartic and a blow out way to change direction and I love Ezra.

the BEEF: I know there is only one fic in this anthology series so far, but I love the concept for it so much (thanks to @covetyou). The grumpy old neighbour Joel that kicked it off really allowed me to be as unhinged and horny as I wanted and my love for him is eternal.

Posters:

This year, I took up making posters for my wips and fics to boost my moral in writing. It helped! Below are the ones that have really made me fluff my feather in my cap (some are still wips).

Things:

Monthly Prompt Challenge: In a bid to share my ideas and thots, I started this in September. So far, no one has told me to stop and I very much enjoy do this!

beef Art: This year, I had Canva introduced to me and I have never looked back. You can see some of the horrible things I have created here.

Community: I have been most fortunate to have been welcomed and held by some extremely fabulous folks on here. There are so many of you, from the casual reblogger to the routine ask dropper (@deathsholywaterr, looking at you 💋) to the beta fish (@weregirlbyknight) to the shy nonnies... and to my beloveds who's usernames/pics made my heart warm, all of you keep this beef smiling. i tried writing for the first time this past january and basically didn't breathe or stop until a little over a week ago. i hit my arbitrary and ill-advised goal of 300k; it's been a real lovely, enormously transformative pursuit and i hope to never do it (to this rampant full-throttle extent) again ::)

She is so willing to help anyone and everyone- whether it’s a fic or a moodboard or you’re just feeling down in the dumps about something! Fic: The Outcast

What makes it special to you: It's hard to pick one line from a fanfic I wrote this year, but I do love this line that ends my story "The Outcast". It's the first favorite line I thought of because it's simple and calls back to how it began. The fic is very themed around finding/discovering what you need with the help of another person.

We created the Dieter Bravo Brainrot Club in January 2024 and it has been easily my favourite place to hangout this year. I'm so glad that it exists, and I want to shout out: YOU, Taylor. The Dieter brainrot would not even exist without you. I love how we have spent so much time together this year spiralling over That Man. I love that I got to read so many of your wonderful fics about him, and scream about him with you. I love that we created a space together for others who feel the same way. I love being your friend.

And with that, the 2024 season has come to an end (and I am chronically online)

This year has had some lovely highs from Larry at the Euros, Glastonbury and Louis' festival run, and some horrible lows. We will continue to love and mourn Liam as we move into 2025. As a fandom, we have continued to grow and change as we exist and create. I am thankful I get to experience it with all of you. From being encouraged to learn to gif (Thank you @kieumy, @sunkissedlouis, @louisgayvodka, and so many more of you) and to publishing 3 different fics (something I never expected myself to do) (Thank you, @voulezloux, @thechavier, @allwaswell16, @wishingforloushair and so many more of you) I am in constant awe and amazement of the amazing fandoms around me.

I look forward to seeing the new works we all create, enjoying new albums from the boys, the continuation of Zayn's tour, seeing Louis perform in India, and watching BTS fully return in June. I look forward to creating more memories and fun with you all. Thank you, all of you little larries and armies in my phone.
