Dissociation Station

In the station of detachment, I stand, A passenger lost in the vast expanse of no man's land. The platform echoes with the silence of my mind, As the train of thoughts leaves reality behind.

Faces pass like fleeting shadows in the mist, In this station of dissociation, where time does not exist. The ticket to presence lost, misplaced, In the corridors of numbness, I wander, spaced.

Each platform a realm of fragmented dreams, Reality dissolves in elusive streams. The announcement speakers murmur in disarray, As I navigate the labyrinth where thoughts decay.

Trains of emotion thunder through, unheard, In this station of detachment, where feelings are blurred. The timetable of self, a puzzle unsolved, As the echoes of existence remain unresolved.

No destination, no arrival, only departure, In this dissociation station, a silent departure. A one-way ticket to a realm unknown, Where the self journeys, suspended and alone.

Faces blend into a canvas of anonymity, In this station of dissociation, a surreal symphony. The whistle of the train, a distant cry, As I linger in the echoes, wondering why.

A Journey through Loss and Love

In the vast realm of dreams, there are moments that linger in our minds long after we wake. One such dream took me to a place unknown, where I encountered a lost girl in a world that transcended reality. Her tears spoke volumes, and as I delved into her story, I discovered a tapestry of memories that held the essence of her being.

The Enigmatic Encounter:

It began with a mysterious setting — neither familiar nor foreign. I found myself standing before a girl, her eyes reflecting an ocean of sorrow. She was crying, and my instinct was to comfort her. "What happened?" I asked, seeking to understand the source of her anguish. Her reply echoed in the space around us, "I lost everybody."

Navigating the Landscape of the Mind:

As I probed further, questioning our whereabouts, she uttered words that sent shivers down my spine: "We are in my mind." The scenery around us morphed into an enchanting panorama, bursting with colors and emotions. It was a place where reality blended seamlessly with the surreal, like a painting brought to life. I couldn't help but marvel at the beauty that surrounded us.

A Puzzling Paradox:

Confounded by the paradox of her serene mind despite the profound loss she claimed to have suffered, I couldn't resist asking the question that lingered in my thoughts. "Why is your mind so beautiful and peaceful if you've lost everybody?" She met my gaze, her eyes telling a tale of wisdom beyond her years. "Yes, I lost everybody, but not everything. I don't have tears of sadness; I have tears of love."

Tears of Love: Her words resonated in the air, and the realization struck me like a gentle breeze. In this dreamscape, amidst the fragments of her memories, she found solace in the love she once knew. The tears that adorned her cheeks were not born of sorrow but were rather a manifestation of the profound love etched into the canvas of her mind.

Eydis looked at the Finn with furrowed brows, confused at to what he was saying in his own language. She’d picked up a few useful phrases and words throughout the years of course, but not much more. “Jaakko I appreciate the help but I really do not have any idea what you’re saying.”

“Ah. I thought we had this phrase covered already. I’ll repeat it if you want?” He felt a bit sheepish after her comment but it’s not difficult for him to get carried away when he teaches someone Finnish. It’s always an exciting, pleasant moment for him -- hardly ever does anyone feel brave enough to even try. “Let’s see ... Olen kotoisin Islannista. I’m from Iceland. I thought you might enjoy this one. Dare to repeat that?”
