Paul Guiragossian (1926 –1993) was an Armenian Lebanese painter. "Art is greater than me, greater than any artist. I will remain an apprentice until the end. I painted this abstract painting for my project for my University last year. The theme we were given was "Future" and must relate to our self. I was having a identity crisis at that time, I didnt know who I was, so i decided to paint about that, on how i want to be, how I saw myself in the near future. In the painting my past/current self is reaching out to my future self (inspired by the painting Creation of Adam by Michelangelo). And the background colour get brighter on the top (future). I was still confused about myself. Who I am and all.

But now past all that, I look at this painting I feel I have reached "my future self". I figured out I'm bi. I figured out I love myself. I'm happy I made that painting. I'm content on what that painting reflects.

Also, the colours I used, very subtly indicate bisexual flag. I didnt noticed that until now. So kudos to my past self painting it.

Late night tonight at the wharf! I'm so thrilled - at the last Paint Out two years ago, I had started a nocturne from this spot, but the colors muddied as the weather worsened halfway through the painting.
