Crossover: a discussion of age

A Totally Not Dangerous little lady
Coming newyears will be the 5th year anniversary of my first ever dnd session, so the same group is getting together for a little oneshot, so I decided to take my darling baby sorceress on a testrun!

So I've been working on a new character.
#my characters#dnd#doodles#For context; the characters pictured are a sorcerer and a human fighter#The first few years of me playing dnd I had nothing with sorcerers. I'd made or at least had ideas for characters of every other class#i'd read the PHB chapter on them for inspiration and got nothing it just wasn't for me#and then I had the idea for Emilia and the further along i got in making her the more i was like#“well dang she can only be a sorcerer”#Same with this new character#Nothing wrong with human fighters but they have a reputation for being bland#so i wasn't expecting to make one just straight up#figured that if i made a fighter id use some kind of weird race for it#anyway#Emilia Farbronk#the fighter girl doesn't have a defined name yet but I'll make a tag anyway I can always change it later#Andromeda

4 years of art improvement! (2020-2024)
I make a lot of D&D characters (most of them just for fun) but they are not all created equally and I do have my favorites. These three are my most beloved fictional children, and I've drawn and worked on them for many years. Had a good art day today and drew the trio, and figured I'd put them side by side with the very first drawings I've made of them.
#myart#my characters#dnd#art#Runar Yorick Nemuskog#Nadia Blodau#Emilia Farbronk#Runar's design has definitely changed the least#But that has to do with the campaigns too#His campaign has gone on infrequently but consistently over the years#while Nadia's campaign basically ended and we rebooted it#with the option to change things about your character#so i changed some of her stats and skills and redesigned her from the ground up#Emilia I've only played in a oneshot so far; but she's a special case#I have a certain method for character creation and Emilia is the first character I used it on#Which also means I wasn't as good at using that method yet#so a year or two ago i went back and rebuilt her from the ground up too#Including redesigning her (again)#I love them so much#None of my other characters are on their level#(yet: if i play more of them that might change)#(also filan is an honorary member of the My Darling Baby group)

An evening of respite
a kind of spiritual successor/redo/sequel/whatever to this piece.
I can’t say much about these characters because I’m still working on what’s going on with them, and also because I really want to keep this character mostly a secret until I start playing them.
That being said,
The sorcerer class in D&D 5e never really interested me much. The concept was alright and there were some fun class and subclass features but it never really tickled my imagination.
Then a good few months ago I had this idea for this interesting character concept (that I won’t disclose for now), and I spent ages slowly working out the concept into something I really liked. It wasn’t until several months of working on it before I actually got to classes and subclasses, and I realized they could only really be a sorcerer.
Idk what subclass yet (I’m between clockwork soul and runechild) but they’re gonna be a fighter-sorcerer multiclass, and they have a really neat way of looking at things!

Impossible crossover time! :D
Two of the characters I look forward to playing one day, hence why they could never interact in-game.
They are (quite visibly) from two very different corners of my brain. The little lady started out as a character concept that I converted into D&D terms, while the beefy bombshell came from my desire to finally have a character that would allow me to flirt with every cool NPC.

next up in my revised and redesigned characters, we have Emilia! It’s been a hot sec since I’ve drawn her, and while I’ve wanted to I couldn’t find anything interesting to draw, so since I’d been revising characters anyway I figured I could update her to be up to standard with how I make characters now.
included above are a revision/spiritual successor to this piece from two years ago, Emilia using her awesome Runechild magic, and face sketches for her and her gf Malon.
