Never getting over Fulcrum being a project manager...
Idk why, but something about that is so funny to me. Not just because the title of "project manager" is inherently kinda funny for a Decepticon, but also because-
1. It's vague sounding and hard to explain irl because it technically exists in multiple fields, like healthcare or manufacturing, which surely translates into canon in some way.
2. In canon, it's simultaneously a really mundane, innocuous sounding job, yet it's also a super morally awful position to reside over depending on the context. (*cough* forced colonization and cyberforming *cough*)
And 3. It solidifies the fact that behind all the surface level militaristic work we get with both the Decepticons and Autobots, there's also Cons and Bots with "normal" jobs in both factions.
Like, sure yeah we get scientists and doctors, engineers and programmers, but usually in big important or warfront positions. (For plot reasons, understandably.) But it's also really funny and interesting to think of those that worked background positions, or minor jobs.
Like an Autobot working in their equivalent of an HR department, or a Decepticon who runs one of their outpost's or starship's kitchens.
Just all the pre-war jobs that didn't just disappear with the war, but instead evolved to exist within the factions.
It's particularly funny with the Decepticons though, because it could be a super mundane job or situation, but because it's them, it has to have an air of ~e v i l~ to it, either legitimately and/or merely for the vibes, like Tarn's "performance reviews".

CO???#for irl comparison. NCO/Warrant = worked towards over time from low ranks. just got a thank-you card specifically for a christmas card. like, this woman (my dad's best friend) sent me a christmas card, then i sent her a christmas card, then she sent me a card thanking me for the christmas card. here is what she wrote:

a really interesting customer service philosophy that my boss explained is that we should, essentially, act out the client's anticipated feelings so that they don't take it out on us.
so, if i need to share bad news that something's delayed, i should express frustration and even indignation if it seems like that would be the client's response.
people generally don't want to escalate when another person is already emotional, and it also makes the client feel like you "care" about the situation and understand their feelings. they don't feel the need to rush you because you make it clear that you're already rushing.
it's really fascinating since i feel like most customer service philosophies are very much about minimizing oneself and coming across endlessly polite and patient... i think it's a little specific to this more b2b line of work where we do a lot of liaising with larger systems, but it does see applications in other fields.

Instead of work simply giving me the folder access I need to manage what they want me to manage they have instead decided itâs better for me to jump through 12 different hoops to acquire what is placed in said folder via other people and pass it back to the folder through yet another set of people. Anna was the best from the very beginning ^_^. The clasp was originally intended to be Wolffort's hawk motif, but for narrative reasons, I decided to change it to "a memento from my parents." The silver hair was used to depict the parent-child relationship between her and Benedict. (To eliminate exposition as much as possible . . . ) (Yasuaki Arai)
I initially received the prompt from Mr. Arai, referring to the set of Anna and Milo (from page 50), "Let's have an intense female spy showdown!" So I thought, "In that case, I'll make them opposites, each with their own type of charm to show off!" I aimed for "super stoic vs. super glamorous" and got the OK on my first try. During the design phase, I thought, "I haven't had a chance to draw her, so I'd like to do the drawing when we get to that point!" But my coworker Urushihara liked Anna's design so much that I asked him to finish it. He really put a lot of care into getting the atmosphere of the art just right; when I saw it, I thought, "I'm so glad I asked!" Stoic women who fight are so cool! (Naoki Ikushima)
I finished this based on Mr. Ikushima's rough sketch. At first glance the gender of the character seems ambiguous, but I felt that this gave depth to Anna, who lives in a harsh world where gender isn't a priority. (Tatsuaki Urushihara)Â
Translation notes:
âAgentâ is a word thatâs literally translated as something like âsubordinate handâ. In most dictionaries the direct word association is âminion,â âhenchman,â or âunderling,â but the connotations seemed a little too cartoonishly evil for the general tone thatâs usually used in these titles, so âagentâ felt like a better fit. It was probably meant to sound more sinister than just âagent,â though, so it was a tradeoff.
The word for âintenseâ in âLetâs have an intense female showdownâ was this one, which can also be translated as âhot,â âardent,â or âpassionate.â The sentence as a whole likely meant to read more like âIt would be hot to have a female spy showdown!â but since I wasnât certain which they meant, I erred on the side of the more mild term.
