Branding Identity Guide!
May 10th, 2023
Kapferer's Brand Identity Prism
Today's theme was all about branding! I learned about Kapferer's Brand Identity Prism.
This has been super helpful in deciding what I want my personal brand to be about.
Kapferer's Prism, sections brand image into 6 characteristics that are separated into 2 sections.
The Externalization component of a brand image are the exterior, outside that are perceived qualities of the brand:
Physical - the actual visual qualities that define a brand. (are their products minimal? bright? sleek? edgy? do they sell clothing? technology?) This quality is determined by the brand itself.
2. Relationship - How does the brand connect with their consumers and vice versa?
3. Reflection - How others perceive the consumers of that brand. Are they seen as smart? daring? rugged? youthful? This quality is determined by the consumer.
The Internalization component are the interior qualities within the brand:
4. Personality - The human characteristics that are given to a brand. If you were to imagine the brand as a person this is the type of person they would be. What would be their behaviors? What would be the way they view the world? This quality is determined by the brand itself.
5. Culture - the set of values and perspectives that are deemed important by the brand and by their customers. How does the brand and it's consumers view the world around them?
6. Self-Image - How do consumers feel when they use the brand? How do they view themselves when they are using the brand? This quality is up to the consumer.

I'm always seeing this sentiment of "I have got to make my art weirder" or people begging for weirder art but here's the thing, Weird is not a brand. You cannot rack your brains trying to figure out the "Weird" formula. You don't get weird art by artificially forcing whatever you think is "weird." You get weird art (and I think "weird" is sometimes people groping for a way of saying non-corporatized) by figuring out what you like, deep down, even (especially) if you think it's embarrassing and wallowing in it like a pig

cub calls himself "a champion of the people" in his twitter bio and i've always thought it's pretty funny bc like. what does that mean. but recently i've noticed i don't think he's like ever taken a sponsorship (not that i've seen at least and i've watched probably like 700 cub videos). he doesn't even have a business email anywhere. no patreon or anything. he does have a discord for twitch subs but you only need to subscribe once and you won't be kicked out when the sub expires. bro really is the champion of the people
#he said brands and companies DNI#cubfan135#this only brings back the age old question of is he secretly rich bc id imagine the youtube and twitch payout isnt huge with his views#golf is such a rich person hobby

How do you become an it-girl in an online community?
Be authentic – share about your genuine interests, perspectives, skillsets, inspirations, etc.
Understand your "why" and "what" – the purpose and "brand personality"/personal brand of your content
Thoughtfully communicate and curate your image/profile via images/text/video
Post regularly. Respond to community engagement
Follow and engage with creators you love/others in these communities
Be consistent. Allow the authentic progression of your life to reflect in your content while remaining mindful of/adjusting to cater to your audience's needs (Why do they come to your page/follow + interact with you?)
Hope this helps xx

Attagirl is a brand of ready-to-cook, homemade South Indian foods started by a passionate stay-at-home mom, Sangita Garg. She makes products that are both healthy and delicious, which has won the hearts of people all over Mumbai.
As Attagirl was getting ready to become a full-scale retail brand, it needed packaging that could stand out in the crowded breakfast foods section of a supermarket. "Atta girl" need to ensure that its brand identity would be unique and distinctive.
The brand has a unique personality: it is young and bold. This was extended into the logo and packaging. It has a sense of freshness that makes you think of a bright, sunny day and a new beginning. Modern lettering gives the look of a modern kitchen while retaining the feeling of being natural and hand made. Cracker and Rush were crucial in propelling the Atta girl brand into the contemporary digital realm. They provided invaluable assistance in crafting the brand's identity through their top-notch design services. Additionally, they brought forth innovative concepts to enhance the brand's identity design services.

Get Designs That Speak Your Brand's Language
Your brand's visual identity plays a pivotal role in effectively conveying your message. Design elements such as logos, graphics, and marketing materials are the visual language of your brand. They communicate your values, personality, and mission to your target audience. To stand out in a competitive market, it's essential to invest in designs that truly speak your brand's language.
When your designs align seamlessly with your brand's essence, they create a memorable and authentic connection with your customers. Consistency in design reinforces your brand's recognition, making it easier for people to remember and choose you over competitors. Moreover, impactful designs have the power to evoke emotions and influence buying decisions, leading to long-term customer loyalty.
To achieve designs that resonate with your brand's language, collaborate with experienced designers who understand your vision and values. Communicate your brand story clearly to them, enabling them to create designs that encapsulate the essence of your business. Remember, a picture is worth a thousand words, and with the right designs, your brand's language will be spoken loud and clear in the minds of your audience.
