Anyways, what gets to me the most about the current discourse (and its dismissal as just "online discourse") is knowing it won't ultimately amount to anything more than just that...

...Yeah, I know this will all be over soon, I know in just a couple years everyone will act like none of this happened and go right back to pretending trans men, transmascs, nonbinary people and intersex people are all "totally doing just fine, actually!". I know the very real, genuine hate and harassment that got flinged at people in these groups and anyone who defended them will be remembered as nothing but "Tumblr being Tumblr".

Just like what happened with transmed discourse and bi discourse and ace discourse and so and so off; which is kind of exactly my problem.

I just think it's indicative of bigger issues that this community constantly finds itself justifying bigotry and violence towards its own members but never takes any action to avoid it in the future, instead brushing it all off like it was petty fandom drama.

But apparently that makes me a chronically online weirdo. Apparently I'm the one being unreasonable when I say it's sickening how nobody who knowingly and willingly spread lies about trans men and transmascs and encouraged their harassment and exclusion is ever going to be even asked to rethink their actions or confronted about them in any meaningful way.

No, what I know will happen in the end is they'll all half-assedly say they "didn't really mean it", that they were "just venting" and "didn't know any better", before they go right back to spreading the same vile shit they are right now.

And everyone will believe them, and try to "both sides"-ism at you if you ever bring up all the fucked up shit that happened.

And I know when that happens I'll still be here to see it all, and I'll still have nowhere else to go. I know it because I've seen it all before.

So yeah TL;DR I think it's kinda ghoulish and abhorrent how this website's broader community is constantly painting its own blatant disregard for the inherent worth of others' lives as just a funny silly little quirk, all while painting themselves as champions of Empathy™ and Equality™ and shit.

I think it's reminded me why I've been such a misanthrope for most of my life.

theres plenty of fandoms or ships or characters I don’t like or don’t give a fuck about, and you know what I do? I just block the tags and let people vibe with whatever the fuck they want to. Even in the ST fandom there’s characters and ships I don’t care for, but do I give a single fuck if people post about them? Hell no!! I just block the tags or filter posts that are focused on things I don’t care for.

honestly I don't find ebay to be shifty for buying stuff! people are scared about using it sometimes and I think it's a little funny lol I guess the tip would be that if you search for an item with vague enough terms, you'll get some SHEIN-esque mass produced clothes muddying the results. and you know it when you see it, because those listings look like shit btw. this type of thing:

like, these are real listings and everything, and you'd get the product, but they are obviously not what you're looking for. you can ignore these, but if you want to filter them out, you can just narrow the search to SPECIFICALLY pre-owned items.

There isn't really any wording to look out for-- the only other thing would just be to make sure the stuff you get can be returned, bc sellers can specify whether or not they'll take the items back!
