I am disgusted at the fact that we have a Nazi in office
Did the United States forget the collective trauma of WWII and what generations had died for, only for Elon Musk to do a Nazi salute and be supported by Trumpers.
Imagine a President or anyone they pick pulling a Nazi salute in the 1940’s and so on?
We live in the timeline where we have Nazis in office.
When I tried to force myself to be conservative in 2016, I didn’t fully understand why my disabled classmate said Trump was the next Hitler (I was disabled too).
I understand that she’s right, and I should’ve seen it coming much sooner rather than have it slowly dawn on me through Trump’s bigoted and harmful acts.
Of course, the United States was never great. The moment the white colonizers decided to oppress Indigenous people and enslave Africans, and oppress Latin and Asian people, to oppress women, to oppress disabled people, to oppress queer/trans people, to oppress anyone, this country was fucked. It’s built off a graveyard with blood. The oppressed people saw it coming, and the privileged should’ve seen it coming.
Also what Trumps doing is not subtle in the slightest. It baffles me that there’s people who still love and support this man, and act as if fascism isn’t on the rise. I shouldn’t be shocked with the long racist history of this country. I hate that the privileged will happily let flames spread rather than accept helpful policies if it helps another oppressed person they hate with a passion.
The right wingers are fascist cowards.

"NO, you can't be mad at Elon Musk! He didn't know any better! Those poor autistic people are too stupid to understand right from wrong! 🥺🥺🥺"
Guess what, asshole? I'm autistic and I'm perfectly capable of understanding morality and basic empathy. Go fuck yourself.

"Mspec gays and weirdos with neopronouns are the reason why no one's taking us seriously and they're erasing real queer identities."
Trump and Musk are some of the most powerful white supremacist on the planet that want to get rid of anyone who isn't an abled bodied cishet white person but go off about how that chronically online stranger is actually making equality harder. I would love to hear more about how the average queerphobic person simply doesn't take us seriously just because of lesboys and nothing else.

You’re starting to act just like your fascist Reggie—censoring others and trying to dictate what can and cannot be discussed in fandom. Telling people they can’t talk about politics because you, living in a first-world country, can’t handle it? You’re the one using real-world politics to justify a fictional ship with a fascist. Have you thought about how people who are genuinely anti-fascist might also dislike it in fiction? You can’t control fandom. If you want to like fascist characters, then just own it. While fiction might not feel like reality to you, for many, it is reality. Have you considered that the characters and headcanons you enjoy might reflect deeply personal experiences for others? Not everyone has the privilege to separate fiction from reality like you do.
hi feed, this message was brought to you by someone who has clearly never interacted with me ever !
WDYMMM "telling people they can't talk about politics" 😭😭 i fear that's my ENTIRE niche across two social media platforms. i fear my entire thing is politics in a fandom space + the real world. i fear that's literally what i'm known for. what 😖
i was gonna ignore this but i have so many receipts that i thought okay ! finna answer ! why not, let's entertain this <3 (below the cut because it's long)
assuming that this is a response to this post where, after watching elon perform two nazi salutes on stage, i said "hey! maybe you should stop calling people in fandom nazis for reading about a fictional character!"
what i alsooo said on that post is that it's important to discuss politics in literature (see here: doing a masters degree in english literature + politics <3). because absolutely! the DEs are crafted in a way that reflects historic events and absolutely, that's something we can discuss!
what we should also discuss is that whilst art imitiates life and life imitates art, the two do not directly reflect one another - if i read about wizards, i am not a wizard. if i read a crime book, i am not a detective. and if i read fanfic about regulus black? i am not a facist.
in regards to the censorship comment: this here is an entireeee video i made about censorship and puritanical views in fandom spaces and why this is a Bad Thing To Do (though i fear you will disagree with it because i am saying that people can read and write whatever but alas, no censorship here x)
using real world politics to justify a ship? no, not at all. i do not think ships in fandom need to be "justified" because, again, they are fiction. can they be discussed? absolutely! my tiktok is @/messrsrobyn and you will find countless videos where i dissect fandom, characters and ships. again, this is kind of my whole thing <33 nice to meet you <33 but rather for me? that post was made as a building up of (1) the mass of people in fandom during the tiktok ban saying that words have meaning when american writers say british words "wrong", but throw buzzwords around like it's nothing and (2) this is a place for escapism and safety, which is needed now more than ever and whilst discussions about politics are important, this? this ask? this is not a discussion. this is hostility, much like people just commenting "nazi" with nothing else on a jegulus post.
discussions can be had! absolutely! my entire thing is discussions in fandom. but right now i'm trying to discuss this when you have given me nothing to work with but false claims and hostility - see how this doesn't work? but alas, i'll try :)
do people read jegulus and think "wow i love voldemort and the death eaters!!! i agree with what the did here :D" or do they read jegulus and enjoy the complexity that comes with a character like him? do they enjoy how, with a character with such little canon lore, people explore things? or yk what, do they sometimes read him as a muggle where none of this matter because there's do DEs? yeah, because it's fiction. and liking a fictional character does not have repercussions on the real world.
calling someone a facist/nazi only for teading about fictional characters does - it is so incredibly important that we read immoral literature. i'm rambling now but i'm not even talking just about fandom. we NEED books that discuss these topics and we need to explore the characters within them. we NEED politics and immorality and everything like that in books because that is how we learn, understand, and prevent. reading them does make you immoral - see here: queer books being banned in the us for containing "immoral themes" and main characters doing things they deem had and awful alongside INCREDIBLYYYY important books like the handmaids tale, to kill a mockingbird, 1984, fahrenheit 451 etc etc.
we need to read these. we need to engage with them.
but in a fandom space, we also need to acknowledge that these are not real people. these are fictional characters and there's a big difference between engaging with a character because you are justifying their actions, and engaging with a character because you enjoy Exploring their character and Understanding them in as many ways as possible 🙂↕️
but we agree!! whilst fiction may not feel like reality to some people, to many it is! so have we considered that when people come to escape from the real world for a bit, or people have family members lost to past regimes; are about to enter 4 years of another regime or are holding their breath waiting for european elections to see if another far-right populist party gets in, it might sucklk to have this thrown around?
imagine dealing with alllll of that in reality, not knowing what on earth is going to happen tomorrow or what the future holds for you and the people you love, and then being called a facist online because you read about Fictional Character Regulus Black. whilst your life literally crumbles apart because of it. you are now being called the same thing that the man oppressing you and everyone you love is, because you read FanFiction.
and then finally ahem:
"not everyone has the privilege to separate fiction from reality like you do"
if you click here, you will find a tumblr post i made about this exact thing :D about how we can't separate fiction from reality
see here also: a post about the books jkr publishes under the robert galbraith pseudonym and about how we, again, cannot separate fiction from reality.
if you click here you will find my jkr playlist on tiktok which has videos in about how, again, we cannot separate fiction from reality.
what we also can't do, mind you is call someone a facist for reading a fictional character.
there is big difference between "hey! this character has facist undertones if applied irl, we could discuss this!" and "You Are A Facist For Reading It"
instead of coming and ranting to someone who has spoken extensivelyyyy about politics in this fandom space - both with fandom material and with elections, gaza, the uk riots etc etc - and is a huge advocate of dicussions and debates, put this energy into something productive.
like actual facists. real world politics and what you could be doing at a local level to help reduce the harm of Actual Facists that are in power right now. not people taking a break from Actual Facism to read fanfiction.
ta x
(p.s i'm a homeless, chronically-ill, gay, trans man. what privilege do i have in THISSS fandom space of JK ROWLINGSSSSS worlds, to separate reality from fiction? 😭)

Trump literally admitted he rigged the election out loud in his speech yesterday and Elon Musk did the Nazi salute twice in his speech today.
It’s day one and I’m exhausted already.

I don’t want to be mean at all in saying this, but what Elon did was a Roman salute. The Roman salute, used during the Roman Empire, was stolen and used by Hitler for the nazis. Roman salute is more of a way to avoid censorship or worse
Elon literally censored the word cis.
If it’s really not that bad, then get off anon.
Get off anon, record yourself doing the same exact salute and post it on tumblr, TikTok, instagram, etc.

So something came up on Bluesky, a question:
legitimately why are you here (on social media)? i am asking myself the same (other than because of addiction).
And it’s kind of wild, because when I did the math, it is literally 30 years since a very cold night in January of ‘95 when I figured out how to venture from the safe and tame world of AOL out into the wilds of USENET. I spent several hours on a newsgroup dedicated to the works of one of my favorite fantasy authors from my teen years, having a discussion about magic and Christianity with a software engineer in Rotterdam and it was like, oh this is a new thing. I was seriously struggling in those days, figuring out my identity and also the mental illness was coming to the surface more and more, but I knew I’d found a new and important place.
In the last 30 years, I’ve experienced the best and worst of the Internet. I’ve started two relationships online that led to marriage—one disastrous and one happy—and I’ve been through countless flame wars and endless wanks. I have met some amazing people and, to paraphrase, some insufferable people who also met me. And I’ve written. 3m+ words of fiction and who knows how many words of just me talking to people and, sometimes, just yelling into the void. Before February of ‘95 I had never finished a story, because why bother? Writing on paper is hard for me and I only got my PC that Christmas and anyway, I’d told myself stories my whole life. But now…now, I had someone to share them with.
The Internet is younger than I am, but it fits into a long line of brilliant human inventions, from the spoken word, to writing, to printing, to instant communications like telegraphs and telephones, each one seemingly requiring faster and faster adoption. We’re still dealing with the ramifications of instantaneous communication and that was over 100 years ago. No one reading this will be alive when we are able to look back and see how the Internet and social media shaped us as a species.
It’s so easy to look at Elon throwing a Nazi salute and think, “the Internet was a mistake” but tbh, it’s too late for that. I’m sure at least one person looked at the violence and chaos of the Reformation and thought, goddam Gutenberg, this is all your fault. And idk, man, maybe I’m just a naive optimist, but right now, on a cold January night, when the world feels dark, Mongolian horse ranchers are bonding with USAmerican horse girls, and people are watching videos of snowball fights in New Orleans, and someone somewhere is coming out to their online friends using words they might not have had when I was born, and all around the world conversations are happening between people who would never meet face to face—so many flickers of light. Maybe, just maybe, the real Internet is the friends we made along the way.
Happy Internet Anniversary to me.

I never thought i'd ever have to make a post like this. But it's way too important to ignore. So yes, I do have to be political here. Why? Because things are happening in the US right now that are just impossible to ignore. I am wishing for all my US followers safety.
That being said: This blog is AGAINST Nazi and other subgroups of Neo-Nazi, White Supremacists, and Trump Supporters (re: "MAGA")
Yes. Elon Musk DID in fact do the salute. No, I do not care if it was a "Roman Salute" which is also literally called the 'Fascist Salute'. There are more proper hand gestures for throwing love to the people. Do NOT use the fact he's autistic - being autistic does NOT and will NEVER excuse shit like this and as an autistic person myself I am beyond disgusted.
Billionaire CEOs are NOT your friends. They are all in on this - delete meta owned apps, avoid platforms like facebook, instagram, Twitter/X, threads, WhatsApp, etc. if you can.
Punch your local Nazi. Be prepared to shout "La Migra" if you see a certain van that only causes harm. They are banning books that educated the people. Fight for your rights to exists. Fight for your siblings, fight for your friends if you're truly an ally.
This will affect us all globally.
Be prepared. Stay safe, and fight. Don't let fascist pigs win. Censoring the people is Evil. Book burning is evil.
To quote someone: We HAVE to fight. We cannot be silent and take this with our heads down and tails between our legs. What is happening in America is not okay by any way shape or form. Our social media is being heavily censored. They want us silenced and to not be able to band together. They want us to rip each other apart. This isn't a red versus blue issue, this is the 1% elite versus the rest of us. We need to organize. We need to fight.

like yall still don't get it. do you not remember the lead up to 2020 and all the presidential Dem candidates that were VERY MUCH way more liked than biden? do you not remember the jokes about "being forced to vote for biden"? do you not recall how it was really really strange that they all dropped out and endorsed biden WHILE calling him out for being a less than stellar candidate? how it was very obvious the DNC/establishment chose him for us?
the democrats accomplished their goal of shutting down the growing progressive/leftist movement in their own party and across the country (in official orgs and stuff, we're not talking grassroots). the truth of the matter that NO ONE wants to address is that everything post-2020 was a backlash to the political awakening and demands for a more progressive society from 2012-2016. MeToo, BLM, Occupy Wall street, and the general growing awareness of systemic violence and demands for systemic change. and the democrats SUCCEEDED. nothing else about their actions makes sense other than the realization that they lost on PURPOSE. that they are IN ON IT.
oh my god, people! neoliberalism ALWAYS leads to fascism. of COURSE we have to blame the democrats. they are the ONLY OTHER POLITICAL PARTY in this country with power. it is quite literally THEIR JOB to uphold people's human rights and hold the president accountable when he commits FEDERAL CRIMES. THEY DIDN'T DO THAT. the SECOND biden got into office he said something like ~"lets put all that behind us and work on bipartisanship".
so yes, elon did a nazi salute. the republicans are outright fascists. this country is literally over. and all that could have and should have been stopped on day fucking 1 of biden's term back in 2021. he didn't do that. the democrats sold us out. you should be mad as FUCK at them.

I would usually never make this argument because the last two years online have proven to me that being German or raised in Germany is in no way a guarantee that someone is skilled or aware enough to immediately and accurately detect antisemitism, but I'm gonna say this:
I am German
I know what a fucking Hitler salute looks like. And that's 100% what Elon was doing. I am so so so tired of being gaslit. He was straight up raising his right hand with the palm down AND his thumb tucked in EXACTLY how Hitler or Mussolini did. I will yell about this forever. I was told year and year again that my opinions about Trump and Elon are exaggerated and unwarranted.
"Everyone's a Nazi to you 😂😂😂you see Nazis everywhere😂😂😂you're an alarmist"
Now that dipshit is literally sieg heiling on stage and people still wanna act like I'm crazy.
Or they say that he's stimming??? Bro tf kinda stim is that?? I'm waiting for all the Neo-Nazis to come out and say that Hitler used to raise his arm as a stim and sending minorities to death camps was just his hyperfixation, so saying he's bad is actually ableist or some shit. I'm tired, I'm truly tired. I have seen it with my own god damn eyes. Stop making excuses for a man like this.
I keep saying the same thing about Alice Weidel. She didn't say that Hitler was a communist because she's stupid and actually believes it. She was dog whistling. Stop giving people with bad intentions the benefit of the doubt. They've already gotten this far, if there's a time to be alarmist, it's now.
