I absolutely hate all three versions of Juvia and her counterparts in Edolas and Fairy Nail.

Edolas Fairy tail regression scenario

Edolas Caregiver! Juvia with stubborn Little! Gray Surge of when Little! Gray Surge refused to take off his never ending layers of clothes despite the fact that his clothes were absolutely filthy and he needed a bath pronto (Little! Gray Surge absolutely stinks of mud and other things) after he went missing for hours because he wanted to play in the mud after it rained for a certain amount of time. Caregiver! Edolas Juvia had an endless amount of patience despite how annoying it may seem..she knew better than to yell at her Little for not cooperating..but Edolas Juvia did teach her little a good lesson about staying clean and how others would feel if he was still covered in mud or if he got dirty in other ways..(Basically it was Juvia's talk of how would Gray feel if a friend refused to show good hygiene around him kind of talk)..

That finally got Little! Gray Surge to cooperate with the bathing and all..Little! Gray Surge finally listened to his Caregiver. *cue the gratefulness from the other members of the Edolas Fairy tail guild*

“Gray, darling,” Juvia said, looking down at her Little. “You know you can’t wear all those layers for bathtime.”

“N-no..” Gray shook his head. He wanted to keep them on! He got cold easily and Mama knew that!

Juvia sighed, gently rubbing her forehead. Her precious little Snowdrop liked to run off and play for hours, even if he knew he shouldn’t. Juvia refused to let him play outside recently because it rained heavily and she didn’t want him getting sick, but he ran off anyway and it took the Guild hours to find him.

And when they did, he was all sorts of muddy and dirty. It seeped through the many layers of clothes, was in his hair, and made him look like an overall mess. It didn’t help that he was sweaty and smelled like the dirty water he played in.

Which led to the current predicament, getting him into the bath.

Her Little, as much as she loved him, was one of those Littles. The ones where you’d have an easier time wrestling with the Royal Army’s Legions than trying to convince him to do something he didn’t want to do.

"Snowdrop, don't those icky clothes feel uncomfy? I'm sure you'll feel so much better in the bath."

Gray let out an uncomfortable noise at the thought.

Juvia sighed. She had tried just about everything she could think of, but nothing seemed to get him to move. But then, one last idea went into her head.

"Darling, would you like it if Natsu kicked up a fuss about this? Or came to the playdate covered in mud and smelling like dirty water?"

"No…"

"So do you think everyone else likes it that you are?"

"No…" his shoulders slumped.

"And do you think it's okay to be all dirty? What if you get sick and can't play anymore until you get better?"

"But.. cold.."

"Aww, darling, I'll make the bath nice and warm for you," Juvia assured him.

"Promise..?"

"Always. And you'll have all your fun bath toys."

Gray lit up.

"You just have to promise not to run off anymore," she said.

He nodded again, "I promise."

"Good, now let's get you all cleaned up, and we can cuddle later," she booped his nose, then took his hand.

She could already imagine how thankful the others will be after this.

Fairy Tail legit gonna make me crash out 😭 can Natsu and Gray please just lock in and make it official with Lucy and Juvia!? Cause at this point Hiro Mashima is just fuckin with us for the fun of it. And this shit isn’t funny anymore💀

Like these two dorks are in absolute love with their Edolas children. They’ve known them all for 5 minutes and are so overprotective. Natsu hates the way Gray looks at Nasha and Gray is concerned about Natsu scaring Greige. These aren’t even their actual children and they’ve decided already “yup if anything happens to these two I’ll kill everyone in this room.” 😭 (also it is confirmed edo-Natsu came on to Lucy first 👀)

They even go as far as saying they’re going to take them back to fuckin earth land with them as if they don’t already have parents 💀

Side note though these two would make absolutely amazing fathers 🤧

As a long-time nalu fan, I can't help but compare how Mashima wrote Rave Master to how he's writing Fairy Tail, especially with regards to the relationships between the two leads in both manga.

The finale of Rave Master was so climatic! Heartrenching! Haru and Elie were separated for a year! She forgot who he was but everything fell into place once they saw each other again. Then they got married!

Then...I look at Natsu and Lucy.

Those two have one of the best male-female relationships in anime, but we can't deny we've sort of reached a plateau with them. Every new development never seems to go anywhere. I just can't help but feel frustrated cus looking at Rave Master, Mashima knows how to write romance! I guess he wants something different with them, but if that's the case, WHY does he keep teasing them but NEVER lets them develop into their potential? My guy, we've been suffering for yearssssssss.

Tartaros Arc had it. FT reached its emotional and narrative peak in that arc. No other arc compares. Then everything went downhill but that's a whole different conversation.

Edit: I can't believe I forgot to mention the other freaking FT ships! They're canon! They got development! Gray learned to be more open with his feelings for Juvia! Jellal finally learned to let go of his guilt and live for Erza! GAJEEL AND LEVY ARE PARENTS. WHY IS NATSU STILL AN IDIOT AND LUCY GETTING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AND CONSTANTLY MADE INTO A JOKE (EDOLAS DOESN'T FREAKING COUNT).

How do you feel about Hiro M. continuing the story after 100YQ?

Murdery horribly and terribly.

No, that’s a lie, because it isn’t all that bad, but it’s my initial reaction.

Like in my opinion it’s a sign that he doesn’t like, or knows the public won’t like how the hyq is going or how it will end. Which worries me, yk?

When the hyq was the only thing that was left of the Fairy Tail franchise, I could lay my trust in Mashima making nalu canon: it’s the only missing cornerstone for a great story. But now? For all we know Mashima might scrap that.

I’m not saying that there’s only bad things to come out of a situation like this: I LOVE fairy tail, and continuing the story makes the fandom stay alive as well. But my problem is how Mashima’s gonna treat nalu again. Because, though I’m aware of the amazing writing we could be subjected for, I’m also painfully aware that Mashima won’t write it.

I love the hyq, but it’s kinda mid. Mashima doesn’t realise that he focuses too much on developing new characters and complicated plot elements for no reason — the characters he already has are plenty to work from (I’m talking about how he could write stuff for the FT guild, not just team Natsu, for sabertooth, for oracion seis, crime sorcerière, literally you name it). And I’m saying this out of love, because the original series shows us how great he can write — his character developments CAN be out of this world!!

Look at Erza when she goes from scary-evil-cruel-strict-boring to a loving, emotional, quirky friend who spreads more love than fear. Or look at Gray (and here I gotta give cred to Mashima for his writing in the hyq) bc he goes from angry, emo, snarky, nonchalant, rejects all signs of happiness to someone who can finally stand beside his friends and allow them to love him.

I could go on about character developments (like Laxus, Jellal, there’s so many) but this post is getting so long already so I’ll keep my point clear:

Mashima could focus on characters and write the best spin-off ever. But he won’t. And that’s the problem.

Mashima can’t write characters in a relationship to save his own life: look at how gajevy and elfever is treated (though these are kinda mild examples imo — a better example would be Shiki and Rebecca, how their relationship both developed and ended up: Shiki gave us like one (1) moment where he showed the readers his feelings, while Rebecca had to take the many many many other hints of them being a thing… not unlike how Lucy’s the one who has to set the status on her and Natsu’s relationship, and never Natsu.)

So since there’s a 0.001% chance that Mashima can write nalu in an active relationship (in EZ he solves that conundrum by killing the pair/avoid writing scenes with the pair/end the whole story, same with FT: keeping the love interest away most of the time to avoid having to write emotional scenes — jellal, juvia. Oh and he kills Mavis and Zeref. And he keeps away from writing elfever, well, ever, and he only writes what he deems absolutely necessary for gajevy. Even the whole Edolas thing was easy for him, bc he only had to write silly aftermath instead of actual emotional connection between two characters.)

This became SO long I’m so sorry. But my main worry really lies with the fact that nalu might be even further postponed, and I’m not really sure I can take another 20 years of this, yk?

Yes, Gajeel did hurt her and chain her to a tree when they first met, but he's shown and proven to her how much he's changed. Their love is beautiful and I love them.
