Unpopular opinion maybe, but I think the FT ships don't need to have the same children as their Edolas counterparts? We already saw it with Edo!Jerza having Irene, while official art shows Earthland!Jerza with a son.

Nothing wrong with the Edolas kids ofc, I just think it would be cute if the Earthland pairings had the opposite set of genders (e.g., Nalu with a son, Gruvia with a daughter) and the kids in both dimensions even got to meet or interact somehow? Their parents proudly showing them off to their counterparts, like they did themselves back in the day.

Day 2 - perseverance

Usually, romantic relationships went through stages. In that order, the couple got to know each other, one of them took the first step and asked the other out. Then, a milestone: first date. After that, it took some weeks, months even to go from seeing each other to dating . During the dating stage, some milestones occurred: meeting the parents, first fight, first reconciliation, first time, first ‘I love you’. Then, after a couple of years, moving together and marriage. After some time, boom! Children. Then taking care of the kids, watching them grow, getting old together, grandchildren and then-

Gosh, that was a lot.

There were exceptions to this scheme, though. A lot of couples stayed as friends for a long time before dating. Others broke up, went separate ways, then got back together. Some had children before marrying, some wanted pets instead of kids. Some wanted both, some wanted none. Sometimes, first I love you went after first fight and and first time before getting to know.

Now that Gray started thinking about it, there were a lot of relationships that didn’t follow the pattern everyone talked about. That made him feel better, after all, his relationship with Juvia was very different from any pattern, as he started to recollect.

The getting to know stage came right with a milestone: first fight. Enemies at first, but after a short time he showed her something she had never seen before from another person: empathy. Mercy. And then, she saw the sun for the first time (that counted as first reconciliation, right?)

For years, they stayed in the friends stage, but they had reached the milestone of first ‘I love you’ (from Juvia, not reciprocated).

After seven years stuck in Tenrou and the Grand Magic Games, they got a milestone he saw few couples achieve: first sacrifice. Even if he didn’t actually die in the end, it still counted (he stayed dead for one second, come on). And after that…

First rejection.

However, even when Gray didn’t have the courage to start exploring the feelings he was developing for Juvia and blatantly denied her advances, she persevered. 

Damn, if there was one quality that Juvia had it definitely was perseverance.

After that bitter milestone, a lot of time passed before they got to the next step: meeting the parents. This one was not only crooked in order, but also in significance. Knowing the father of your loved one as a spirit and having to set it free, ending once and for all that existence… that wasn’t exactly a romantic scenario. It meant a lot for him in other ways, though.

Moving together came shortly after. For months, they had a domestic peaceful and endearing life, even if they were just friends.

Then, he abandoned her and had her trust in him tested for the first time. She persevered, though, and they overcame it. During the battle of Alvarez, they reached once again a rare milestone: double sacrifice.

The longer he thought about it, the more he was certain their path was unique (not necessarily in a good way).

It was only after the first time he really thought he lost her that their story got into the rails. After the one hundred years quest (in which he saw that his edolas self had gone on a straighter line than him and already had a son with edo-Juvia) he finally gathered courage to do the hardest thing:

Step one, ask out.

And now, looking at his bride, walking to him as beautiful as ever, he couldn’t be more grateful for everything they went through if it meant having her in his arms for all his life.

They had persevered.

My opinion of the Gold Owl and Viernes arc, so far, is that, I think what FT 100YQ needs right now is an undemanding arc that emphasizes more on developing the characters and their dynamics instead of having the team brawling and folding one dragon god after another.

FT had balanced the action with emotion rather beautifully, in my opinion, and so did 100YQ up until the Moon Dragon God arc. We got to witness poignant moments like Jellal making peace with his past and Natsu obtaining closure with Zeref.

As much as I enjoy watching these characters put up proper fights, this is not what they *need* right now. It's pretty much all they have been doing since they fought Dogramag.

The main series had them go up against their greatest foes; the sequel should focus on tying up the loose ends in their relationships. Whenever romance was concerned, I felt FT had handled it better than many other manga considering how Mashima had planted the seeds for not one but several pairings throughout the story and, while it didn't end with a flash forward to them in the future with their kids - though it would have seemed believable - it pretty much confirmed that they were the endgame. That sooner or later, they are eventually meant to be together.

FT 100YQ has the opportunity to fill in the blank pages that happen after the story has ended, to have us witness *how* these characters realise their feelings for each other and work on it. So far, it's only Gruvia who have undergone some progress on that front. The rest of the characters need room to breathe and get their shit together. Especially Jellal who overthinks everything and Natsu who doesn't pause to think in the first place. For instance, he found out that his Edo counterpart has a kid. With Lucy's counterpart. And we are yet to get a moment where Natsu and Lucy address the elephant in the room and confront their feelings.

Now, it's not like we haven't gotten some heartwarming moments of respite after every major arc ended, moments that I enjoyed to the fullest. But there should be a phase of prolonged calm before the storm that heralds Ignia's arrival and they get entangled in fighting all over again.

Gruvia Fan Content Prompt Idea List

well, some people seemed interested when i said i'd make a post with a list of Gruvia fan content prompts, so I'm making it! I'll warn you, though: I don't really like the way ideas are shared on typical prompt lists so mine might not be to you guys' tastes:

AU where Juvia joined Fairy Tail first and was the one to inspire Gray to join the guild. Some of you might recognize this as a previous post of mine, where the idea is more fleshed out, but I don't mind at all if anyone else takes it as a prompt and uses the idea to write their own story.

Gruvia-centric Stone Age Omake fic. There's tons for Nalu but only one I found that's Gruvia, Learning to Love by starryfairyjedi, which is excellent but the author hasn't finished it quite yet.

Pregnancy fic. ik ik, another unoriginal idea. There are tons of these, but I think that's true for a reason. A scenario where Juvia accidentally gets pregnant forces Gray to commit in a way he avoids throughout the series. Plus also that guy just has a ton of untapped worry-wort dad potential. It's tragic, really.

Forced to live together. Who doesn't love these kinds of fics? As for why Gray and Juvia have to live together...maybe Fairy Hills got destroyed during Alvarez or by another Dark Guild, and when Gajeel offered to let Juvia stay with him, Gray stepped in to offer up his own place in a moment of irrational jealousy. There's a lot of potential for humor with Juvia's various Gray paraphernalia, plus it would be a chance for them to address feelings about their previous cohabitation.

Playing off the last one: AU where Juvia's an informant targeted by the mafia and Gray is the FBI agent tasked with protecting her. Therefore, they are forced to live together in a safe house.

Grease-esque AU. Juvia could be one of those rollerskating waitresses and Gray and Natsu could be race car drivers/rivals. Sides of other pairings would work well with this one, like if Lucy and Erza were also waitresses.

Juvia meets Edo-Greige somehow. This would be so cute! How would she wind up meeting him? Well...i don't know, lol. It'd be interesting if she wound up in Edolas accidentally and Gray had to go rescue her. In the meantime, she could interact with Edo Gray and Juvia, also...that's a moment we never really got to see in the series.

Juvia and Lyon wind up paired for a mission and Gray follows them out of jealousy.

Assassin AU where Gray's the assassin and Juvia's the target. Good potential for a steamy fight scene and ultimate cuteness when Gray refuses to kill her.

Pirate and Mermaid AU. a lot of fics have elements of this dynamic but i don't think i've seen one that's really Gruvia-centric and about the love story. would make a great oneshot or short multichapter fic imo.

Juvia's a nymph who cares all alone for her forest since the other nymphs died, until one day, an Ice Demon Slayer, injured in battle, drifts into her forest via river on a slab of wood. The forest urges her to kill him, but Juvia is unable to kill the first man she's ever seen. While she nurses him back to health, they fall in love. Lots of potential for romance/humor with the whole "Juvia's never been around people, especially men, and doesn't get personal space" thing, a bit like the Stone Age Omake idea.

MHA/BNHA AU where they meet as heroes-in-training or young pro heroes in the field.

Fake Dating. Kind of a sucker for these, ngl. Would be even better (in my personal opinion) if it was an AU so this was how they met.

UFC/MMA AU. Few different potential ideas with this one. Could be Juvia falling in love with Gray from the audience while he fights Natsu, a mixed-gender version of the UFC where Gray and Juvia fight each other, or Gray gets a crush from the audience watching Juvia fight someone (I'd personally love to read this one).

Gray and Juvia meet as kids. Would be really cute if little Gray comforted Juvia about her rain.

Robin Hood AU. The Fairy Tail ethos goes well with Robin Hood's. You could have it where Juvia serves as a knight for King John (/Jose?) but abandons the kingdom for Robin Hood's cause when she meets Gray.

If I think of more, I'll add to this list or maybe make another one! Feel free to use any of these/apply them to any ship. I'd love if you lmk you used one of them or tagged me or whatever, but if you're not comfortable with that you don't have to. I may use my own prompts one day, too, especially the Stone Age Omake ones, the nymph one, and the Edo Greige one. I'm totally fine with us having written the same idea if you are.

Ummm yeah we had MULTIPLE sketches of Grau and Juvia's kid throughout the years with the recent addition of their DAUGHTER in Mashima's sketches not without counting of course the TON of gruvia official art the man has made showing them in various embraces .

So yeah Greige might not be canon, in Earthland because in Edolas he is really edo gray and juvia's kid but I am perfectly content with the cute family sketches that Mashima Sensei gives us will you antis can just chew on dust and ai generated art of your ships lmao .

I've been kinda frustrated too, but at this point I'm just sad, so I get the anger.

I get that they aren't as popular as the other three, since they're both supporting characters, but it made me sad when all the other ships got streams AND a picture for their days, but when asked about a stream for Gajevy day Mashima said that they're not main characters. And I get that, what I don't agree with is him saying a stream for their day wouldn't attract fans, when whenever he posts a gajevy pic, it gets about as many likes as other ships.

Also I don't get how he drew next gen kids for all the other ships but not for one that's about to actually have a kid 😆

About Edo Gajevy, I didn't expect anything to be honest. Edo Gajeel is an anime only character, so he probably never even met Edo Levy. Sigh.
