I can't stop thinking about the scene in HP where Draco just made a PERFECTLY folded paper crane(?) and sent it to Harry, like we get it, Romeo, you're gay for the scar head.

just finished watching star vs the forces of evil all the way through and realized something and suddenly i have a lot to say about it
i am aware that it is a kids show and they might not have intended for this but hear me out!!
there are obviously a ton of inconsistencies and unanswered questions posed by the ending and the sudden merging of worlds but we're not supposed to know!! the show spends four seasons spelling out many many things, one of them being how the presence of magic in any world is a double-edged sword: what happens when people reserve the use of that magic for, say, a monarchy; what can come from this structure governing a diverse population (ie mewmans and monsters) where the monarchy is entirely comprised of one faction of the population; the discomfort, growth, and radical change that it takes to get people to confront their own biases and accept a new reality. which is why the show ends with the "no magic" angle.
but another one of those pillars of central themes (or, i argue, THE central theme) is the crazy, wonderful, amazing, terrifying, uncomfortable and supernatural things that can happen when we connect with each other and relate to each other deeply. we see this in terms of the previous theme of magic, and in terms of mewmans and monsters, mainly through eclipsa: her struggle with being accepted by the public in season 4; her turbulent relationship with meteora in season 3 turning to her genuine deep love and admiration for her baby daughter; her attachment to and borderline obsession with freeing globgor and how, at the start, it governs nearly all of her decisions and actions as queen. we see it through moon literally building a community out of nothing in the middle of the forest because she simply can't help but care about people. (and river's subsequent complete adoration of her.)
but we also see it very often through the lens of star and marco. at first (and the vast majority of the time) it isn't even in a romantic manner--literally the day they meet, they are already fighting in sync, a pattern that continues throughout the first season--they finish each other's sentences, etc etc etc. and it could be argued that a lot of that is a direct result of the blood moon ball, where their souls are (theoretically) bound together at the ripe age of fourteen. but whether or not it was a magical curse (again, the role of magic and its positive and negative effects in life) doesn't matter in the end. to me, it is simply a story of two people who have something real and beautiful and powerful, and how the presence of magic first hinders but then helps them uphold that.
we're not supposed to know what happens after the worlds merge because we're supposed to believe that by the power of friendship or love or any combination of the two they will figure it out. it's because of that very power that they've always figured it out in the past!! the ending raises a ton of good and important questions about worldbuilding, society, etc but we're not supposed to care about those questions; at the very least, we're supposed to accept that they themselves don't care about those questions. there's a reason the last scene is the two reconnecting: it is clearly ALL that they care about. and that's beautiful!!!
literally everywhere you turn in this show, basically every single plotline or arc you can think of, boils down to people (or not-people) loving, wanting to love, wanting to be loved, wanting to be accepted, wanting to feel connection. ex: ludo didn't get love as a child and so resorts to commanding respect to cope, and the only way he's able to snap out of this cycle is when dennis finds him and they both experience the first real loving connection either of them have ever had. meteora knew nothing of her family history growing up and was taught that everything natural about her should be shunned and suppressed, and the only times we see her drop or even soften her guard before the end of season 3 are when she is trying to foster a connection with rasticore (which doesn't go well) or when she finally finds eclipsa and is overjoyed at the prospect of true, unflinching motherly love. tom starts the show obsessed with star, driven solely by the idea that someone who once loved him might be able to do so again, and as the show progresses he not only learns to control his anger issues but learns how to respect both her and himself in doing so, leading to a relationship that is visibly much more healthy the second time around.
star and marco are another example of how this concept is done so beautifully, and an example of the fundamental idea that fierce and true love shouldn't break a world, it should make it. and i think the ending aims to show that. we know that there is a story after the one we stop seeing, and we know it's one that's going to be driven by empathy and connection and hope, and to a certain extent (especially in a kids show) isn't that all you ever need??
tldr: at its core svtfoe is yet another piece of media about the otherworldly power of human connection which is why the ending is Like That
(i'm aware this is a contrarian take and i'm sorry in advance i just like to be positive)

Missed drawing them ❤
Tumblr media
I've been in a slump for... a while. I have no clue why but getting myself to draw the comic has been a challenge. I've had all the pages for chapter one sketched for over a year but I've been unable to complete them. I think it's mostly been a combination of University stress, a lot of bad stuff happening in my personal life and the inefficient way I went about doing the Prologue chapter had put me off. However, in the time since the last chapter, I've developed my art a bit and figured out ways to lessen my stress.
So, from now on, Meteora The Opposed will not have a schedule. Instead, pages will be posted when they are completed but only one page a week. Hopefully this means I can get pages out quicker than they would've if I went about doing this chapter the same way I did it for Prologue.
I'm so sorry it's took this long for an update, but Meteora will debut soon.

I could finally breathe.
I opened my eyes quickly and sat up.
I was still in the room, looking around I could see that it was almost morning.
"2:59 AM." - I whispered to myself. "Was it all a dream?"
I felt tears falling.
I was crying...
I got up from the bed, my body moving on its own, receiving no command from me no matter how hard I tried.
I was in front of his door, I could tell after giving up trying to get my body back into my own bed.
I knocked softly on his door, it was silent, he probably won't open it.
"Sweetheart? What are you doing here at 3:00 in the morning?" - He said with a yawn, his eyes wide open, and hair messy, but he soon woke up after seeing that I was crying. - What happened, Sweetheart? Why are you crying?.
I just looked at him, I couldn't speak, he just pulled me into his arms, he mumbled something that I couldn't understand because my sobs were too loud to hear anything else.
He closed the door behind him, still with me in his arms and laid me down on his bed, whispering sweet, soft words in my ear, gently stroking my hair and hugging me in the most loving way possible.
You're right Salem, maybe I want to stay here, but it's wrong, I can't take him away from her, I had a family in another universe, I loved them, and I know they love me too, even though one of them doesn't, and I know they're looking for a way to get me out of here.
I couldn't be selfish like that...
...
I had finally fallen asleep after a few minutes, but I had woken up, it was 5:21 in the morning, I was curled up with Jensen, his warmth against mine made me want to stay here forever. Always in this world.
I'm going to enjoy it a little...
...
I could feel him playing with my hair, trying his best not to wake me up, but he failed.
"Morning." - I murmured against his chest.
"Hey, morning sweetheart." - He said in his highly attractive husky voice. "Do you feel better?" - He asked.
I mumbled in response, still not wanting to leave his embrace, but I needed to, shit why couldn't I be selfish for once in my life?
I moved away from him and sat on the bed, he did the same, gently placing his hand on my back, caressing.
"You want to talk?" - He asked softly.
"It was a nightmare, that's all." - I looked him in the eyes, trying not to show that I was lying.
He just nodded and kissed my temple before getting up from the bed, he said something like go to the kitchen and prepare breakfast and left.
Eclipsa entered Jensen's room, trying to get my attention, I smiled and caught her hugging her as if it were the last time I would see her.
She meowed in response, as if she was saying everything was okay and that she was here.
...
Jensen and I thought it was better to enjoy the day at home, he wouldn't leave me alone for a second, not that I was complaining... he was worried, I know.
"Here it is." - He said, entering the room with a huge bucket of popcorn and beers.
I looked at him tenderly as a way of thanking him, and he gave me a charming smile.
He sat next to me and covered himself with the blanket we were sharing.
My heart raced with his presence so close to me, his cologne drove me crazy. What is happening?
"What it was?" - He said with a mouth full of popcorn, still looking at the film in front of us.
It was like it was Dean here.
Wait... who is Dean?
"Nothing... just thinking about how grateful I am to have you here with me." -I rested my head on his shoulder, and he put his left arm around my shoulder.
"All for you, Sweetheart." - He whispered and kissed the top of my head.
I just stayed there in his arms, until I fell asleep, I could feel him carrying me to his room.
He laid me down and lay down hugging me.
"Night, Sweetheart." - He whispered, I just snuggled up to him in response.
...
It's 5 am, Jensen was still sleeping and Eclipsa was on top of me staring at me, I could feel her calling me. I whispered to Jensen that I would go to the bathroom and come back soon, since he is a light sleeper, he mumbled something I didn't understand and turned away.
When I got up from the bed Eclipsa came out of the room, I was right behind her, she took me to the room where there was a black cat, its eyes were red and its tail was pointy. I felt like I knew this cat from somewhere, but where?
The cat just stared at me and somehow I realized he looked scared.
"You're forgetting... just like I said..." - The cat said.
The cat spoke.
The...
Cat...
Spoke...
I panicked and was going to scream but he was faster and mumbled unknown words that kept me silent.
:Stay calm, silly girl." - He said getting closer, but I backed away. - "Just follow me."
I followed him and stopped in the kitchen, I saw him mumbling some things and I could feel something in me.
"You can talk now, but without scandals I just want to help." - He said calmly.
"Help with what?" - I asked
"To remember, silly girl. " - He said. - "I thought I had more time..." - He muttered to himself, but I had heard.
Remember? Remember what?
Next thing I know, I was cooking with an old book, the cat said just follow the instructions.
The recipe is called Memory Enhancing Macaroons, it's also a riddle that I have no idea how to solve.
When all your memories are blank, it'll come back and macarons are to thank.
That's what the book says.
I just shrug and get all the necessary ingredients.
"1 ¾ cups powdered sugar, 1 cup almond flour, finely ground, 1 teaspoon Livonian salt, divided (which the cat gave me to make this recipe) ,3 egg whites, at room temperature, ¼ cup granulated sugar, ½ teaspoon vanilla extract, 2 drops pink gel food coloring, 1 cup unsalted butter, 2 sticks, at room temperature, 3 tablespoons heavy cream." - I mutter to myself to check if everything was ok. - "Okay, now it's time to do it."
I take a deep breath and place the powdered sugar, almond flour and ½ teaspoon of Livonian salt in the bowl of a food processor and process on low speed until extra fine.
I sifted the almond flour mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large bowl.
Beat 3 egg whites and remaining ½ teaspoon salt in an electric mixer until soft peaks form. I gradually added the granulated sugar until it is fully incorporated. I continued beating until firm peaks formed, I turned the bowl upside down and it didn't fall, so it's good.
I added the vanilla and beat until combined, I also added the food coloring and beat until well combined. I added about ⅓ of the sifted almond flour mixture at a time to the beaten egg whites and used a spatula gently until combined.
After the last addition of almond flour, I continued to mix slowly until the dough came together in ribbons and I can make a figure 8 while holding the spatula up.
Transfer the macaron dough to a pastry bag with a round tip.
I placed 4 dots of dough in each corner of a rimmed baking sheet and placed a piece of parchment paper on top, using the dough to help adhere the parchment paper to the pan.
I placed the macarons on the baking paper in 3 cm circles, with a space of at least 2 cm between them.
I tapped the pan on a flat kitchen surface 5 times to release any air bubbles.
I let the macarons sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to 1 hour, until they are dry to the touch. I preheated the oven to 150˚C (300˚F).
I set a timer to let me know when it was time to bake, and while I waited, I went back to the room where Jensen was sitting on the bed with his laptop on his lap, he was wearing glasses and still looked sleepy.
"Hey, where were you?" - He saw me standing in the doorway.
"Cooking." - I shrugged.
I spent those 1h30min talking to him, when it was time to bake the macarons, I asked for permission and he asked me to keep it for him, I laughed and said I couldn't promise anything, he laughed in response.
I Baked the macarons for 17 minutes, until the feet are well risen and the macarons no longer stick to the baking paper.
Transfer the macarons to a wire rack to cool completely before filling.
I made the butter cream which just beats the butter with a mixer for 1 minute until it's light and fluffy. I sifted the icing sugar and beat until completely incorporated. I added the vanilla and beat to combine.
I added the cream, 1 tablespoon at a time, and beat to combine, until it reached the consistency I want. Transfer the buttercream to a piping bag fitted with a round tip.
I added a dollop of buttercream to a macaron shell. I topped it with another macaron shell to create a sandwich. Repeat with remaining macaron shells and buttercream.
I placed it in an airtight container for 24 hours to “bloom”.
Now is just wait...
"I'll be back in 24 hours and you'll eat the macaron, I need you to remember." - He said heading towards the living room, he turned to me before saying something. - "When you remember, you will decide what you want, but remember there will be consequences." - He said before disappearing into thin air.
What the fuck?
I sighed and saw Eclipsa on the sofa sleeping peacefully, I smiled and went back to Jensen's room where he was still in the same position, but when he saw me he smiled and silently asked me to go back there.
I was falling in love with my best friend...
I went towards him and sat down on the bed with him. He came closer and said he was going to show a movie and that we were just going to stay there. I still didn't feel better about the nightmare I had, I didn't remember what happened, but I knew that every time I thought about it my heart hurt and my mind asked to remember.
Remember what?
I don't know...
...
It was already early in the morning, Jensen and I were still in the room, but we went out every now and then to take a shower or get takeout food.
We were marathoning some random series he had put on, I wasn't paying attention because my mind was still wandering to those macarons and what that talking cat was saying.
"I think it's time for bed..." Jensen said, and I just looked at him as if he said no. - "Don't look at me like that, you weren't even watching and I'm sleepy."
I looked at him in understanding and he turned off the laptop and we lay down, I was still sleeping in his room, and I didn't want to go back to my room, I feel something pulling me towards him. He put his arm around me and pulled me in, kissed the top of my head and we fell asleep.
To mean...
He slept.
I was still lost in thought.
...
5am.
The perfect time.
Jensen luckily was facing the other side, in an almost deep sleep because he was snoring lightly.
I got out of bed and quickly went towards the kitchen where the pot of Macarons that I had made the previous morning was in the middle of the counter, the cat was sitting next to it.
We didn't say a word, I just went there, opened the jar and ate a piece of the Macarons.
Memoirs.
Memories I had forgotten.
That I said I couldn't forget.
They came back.
I looked at the cat who was looking at me with hope in his eyes.
"I remember." - I whispered. - "What's going on, Salem?"

You were still banned from training until further notice, at least that's what Glossaryck said to you as you almost set him on fire again.
You're still unfocused on a lot of things after what happened a few days ago, especially the announcement of Eclipsa's pregnancy.
You were currently having tea with your sister, you stared at her trying to figure out something and Eclipsa noticed this.
"okay n/n,you know is rude to stare..."she said and she drank her tea.
"I've been trying to figure out how'd you became pregnant?"
"i beg your pardon?!?"
"like how did you and Shastacan have a baby?"Eclipsa almost gagged at your question, just like you she didn't like Shastacan...
"that's not something to say in public dear n/n"she doesn't really want to talk about it...
"what's wrong with?all I'm saying how can you have a baby when you don't love him?and how can you be pregnant when i have never seen you kiss him before?"you asked more questions and Eclipsa realize something but she doesn't wanna assume.
"love?kiss? Please elaborate n/n..."
"how can you make a baby with someone you don't even show your and affection too?or wait maybe you kiss Shastacan in private?"just the thought of that makes your skin crawl.
"wait...n/n how do you think babies are made?"
"... they're made from two people inlove, right?"
"such as?"
"like how Mother and Father show affection by kissing?"
"oh my stars"with what you said Eclipsa confirmed that you know nothing...her innocent little sister.
"what?"you asked confused.
"it's more than Kissing n/n..."Eclipsa blush as she remembered something.
"what is it?"you innocent question made her blushed even more.
"Eclipse are you okay?!?"you asked genuinely concerned as she turned redder by the minute.
"yeah im fine... let's not talk about that n/n..."Eclipsa doesn't really wanna have the talk with you...
"let's not talk about that.... let's change the subject, how's your magic lessons been doing?"
"let's sayyyyyyy, it's been a disaster..."you slumped on the chair and your sister hummed.
"how come?" She placed her tea down and looked at you.
"i almost set Glossaryck on fire..."
"oh dear"
"he said I'm unfocused lately and i should be given a break..."
"hmm,i did noticed...you change lately...wanna talk about it?"She asked genuinely concerned, a few weeks ago you were really down about something, you don't come out of your unless you were going to eat.
She only got you out of your because she begged you to her for some tea time...
Eclipsa knows you,you were an adventurer. You like going to different dimensions but she doesn't tell you she knows. however she doesn't spy on you,she respects privacy, she only found out when you thought you were sneaky...
So what changed?
"is it about someone?"as Eclipsa asked ,you flinched.
Ah,so it's about someone....
"i don't wanna talk about it..."you didn't want to about it to Eclipsa, it's gonna be a secret until you die. You didn't know how Eclipsa will react if she finds out accidentally befriended one of the creatures your mother warned you about.
"if it's about love i can help-"you cut her off
"it's not about love and he just a friend"Eclipsa is now confused
"then why are you upset?"
"I just found out something about him that isn't good..."
"like what?"
"umm, it's nothing to worry about Eclipse..."you had to lie you didn't really want to reveal the real reason.
Eclipsa didn't buy it , she knows your lying. It can't be a valid reason for you be holed up in room for this, but she didn't push it. You'll tell her when your ready.
"so i heard there's gonna be a banquet for the little fella in there"it was your turn to change the subject, you pointed at Eclipsa's stomach.
"yeah Shastacan and The Magic High Commission thought it would be great to announce it to the public that the heir will arrive in a few months" Eclipsa explained and rubbed her still flat stomach.
"I can't believe I'm gonna be an aunt..."you said with a weak smile.
"yeah..."
"hey n/n ,i have an Idea what if we go somewhere else just you and me? Sister bonding time?"Eclipsa asked, she wanted to spend time with you before the preparation of the Banquet. Also maybe to make you happy.
You thought for a moment...
"tell me where you get your own supply of snookers and maybe we have a deal"
"come on pleaseeee"Eclipsa gave you the saddest eyes of all of Mewni, you can't say no but...
It's Eclipsa's request...
"deal"
"okay where are we heading?"you asked you smiling sister.
"oh i always wanted to go to the Earth Dimension!"
...great...
You were on guard to Protect your sister and your unborn niece or nephew, you didn't want them to get hurt . You also had earthly disguises to look more human and have Keekee on guard.
Especially when you found that some of them can go to the human realm.
"it's quite like Mewni, don't you think n/n?" Eclipsa pointed out and you hummed in response.
You two roam the whole village and bought some food....
You were getting deja vu...
"why do you have an obsession with every duck theme products?"you questioned Lucifer as he was carrying two bags filled with Duck themed merchandise.
"you don't understand happiness"he pouted
You smiled at the Memory...
No!
You shook your head , trying to remove him from your mind.
He's a Demon n/n...
"oooh!n/n look they have Lanterns for sale!"Eclipsa tugged your arm to the stall.
You were with Lucifer watching the Lanterns float away
What's is up with me?
You gradually bought two as for Eclipsa's request.
You tried to take take the Lanterns but Eclipsa insisted on carrying them , there's no point in arguing with when we made her mind."it's just like old times ?" She asked you with a huge smile.
You nodded and gave a weak smile, you miss just having you and your bond together. No guards no Shastacan...
You enjoyed the rest of the day Bonding with your sister. But eventually it's time to go back...
"it's time to go home, I wished we could've stayed a little longer"she pouted.
"yeah..."you were about to open a portal but you noticed something...
"where's Keekee?"you suddenly said in a panic and Eclipsa noticed....
"yeah...wait where is she ?"
"she wandered off again!that cat is gonna give me a he-" you were out off by some meowing.
"Keekee!"you suddenly went to noise, you saw her coming out for a bush.
"guess she went to go potty"Eclipsa shrugged.
You hugged you Feline companion"why do you always wandered off when we are in a different dimensions?"you whispered for only you and Keekee can hear.
Keekee just rubbed her head on you and you couldn't stay mad...
You, Eclipsa and Keekee walked in the portal and got home .
Oddly enough, Keekee has a familiar scent lingering in her fur?

One issue that's seldom talked about is the distain that Star Vs. seems to hold for monster leadership, even though the Butterfly family has been oppressing monsters for countless centuries, the morality of monster leaders depicted throughout both the series proper and the Magic Book of Spells seems to mainly depend on how close their ties are to the Butterfly family and how well they treat them. Cooperation and love for the Butterflies equates to a morally good leader, and open defiance equates to an evil one. And this isn't just during the reign of the likes of Comet, it even applies, disturbingly, to leaders who were active during the reign of the explicitly genocidal Solaria.
Batwin- Batwin exists exclusively to be the person Comet is negotiating a treaty with, but the book reveals that he inherited his position from an Avarius. Who were put in power by Cresenta Butterfly. Batwin, the only monster leader that's never been evil or cruel, is also a pathetic Butterfly stooge, outright described as "soft" by Comet herself. While he certainly seems to be meant as a good person, he also isn't afforded much respect as a leader.
Globgor- In his past, Globgor was a cannibal warlord that needed to be redeemed by the love of Eclipsa Butterfly, not only a mewmen, not only a member of the Butterfly family, but the damn daughter of the most evil character in the Star Vs. universe, we are very much supposed to consider him as having been a bad guy before he was redeemed by Eclipsa, aka, the period in his life where he was a monster leader that wasn't aligned with the Butterfly family.
Ludo- Ludo, during the time when he was a leader, was a cruel and petty one that mistreated his underlings, his redemption is tied to giving up both his position as a leader, and his pursuit of the wand and, by extension, his defiance towards the Butterfly family.
Toffee- Toffee is the first on this list with that never shows sympathy too nor receives it from the Butterfly family. His goals are vague, but seem to primarily be revenge, and the possibility that he is anything other than a cruel and vindictive man is never explored, although looking at his actions in the show, nothing implied about him is any worse than what is said outright about Globgor*, and in all scenes where he's leading as himself, and not through Ludo, he seems to be a far kinder and more respectful leader than the Avarius.
Seth- oh, poor neglected Seth, unlike all the leaders mentioned previously, we never even get to see Seth in the flesh to judge him for ourselves, everything we hear about him is second hand, and none of it is good. We can safely assume that he fought against Solaria, and, given that no other monster faction is referenced, there's a solid chance it was his septarians that killed her, and yet all we know of him is that he supposedly believed that mewmens were inferior to monsters and wished to subjugate them. As we hear this from Globgor, it is clear we are supposed to believe it.
*Hell, if you consider cannibalism as particularly evil, Globgor might even be worse

Hello, everyone. It's so strange to be saying this, but the last part of SAMATFOE is imminent, and we're getting closer and closer to the End. It's been a really fun five years. (Four to ya'll, but I've been working on this for longer than I've been talking about it publicly!) The cast of characters has expanded dramatically, I've gotten much better as a writer and artist, and I feel I've grown as a person too. I won't stop stalking the svtfoe tag or talking about svtfoe after this is done, don't worry, but I have a lot of non-svtfoe related plans in the future, so if you like Sílthéy and her weird siblings, don't stop following when SAMATFOE is over.
But as for the actual contents of s5, well, I've got lots of plans. We've got a dark magic plague that's an incredibly transparent metaphor for climate change. We've got Mina playing the oil barons and trying to stop everyone from saving the world for her own personal gain. We've got Glossaryck (capitalism). We've even got the answers to a lot of mysteries and character arcs. Like, so many character arcs. It has been incredibly difficult to stuff all these character arcs into this far-too-short piece of fanfiction. But I hope I did that adequately.
On a personal note, while hiring a beta/sensitivity reader for a piece as massive as SAMATFOE proved impossible for someone who does not own their own money, I have done a lot more research than I had at seventeen. I wanted the monsters to be more than just badly-done allegories for Native Americans – I wanted them to be people with their own culture, history, and ideas. People who are inspired by real-world Indigenous cultures, but, because they're literally nonhuman, are distinct from them. Whether or not they could count as Indigenous is discussed in-text, but I do not come to an actual conclusion because I want my readers to draw their own. It's not my place to say whether colonized space aliens could be Indigenous. And their connection to the land and to magic is drawn from their shared knowledge, not mysticism, and their culture is idealized because a caring godlike entity helped them to that, not because they're better than anyone. I hope to demonstrate that they are all people, first and foremost. Because we're going to be spending time in Septarsis! So much time! And Toffee has officially been promoted to main character status! It's Star and Marcie AND the Forces of Evil, babey!
But there's a lot of characters here. So, for the second and final time,
Dramatis Personae:
Star - Star doesn't know what to do. She has everything she ever wanted, even if she doesn't realize it. She has no future responsibilities, having passed that to Eclipsa, but she is still special and important, being the most powerful magic-user ever to exist and the only one who can fix the dark magic, and Toffee doesn't even seem to hate her. Sílthéy does, though, and that is a sticking point. Star is much less oblivious now, though even her oblivious former self would probably pick up on the bad vibes Sílthéy is actively sending her way. She wants everyone to see how hard she's working to make everything better, but Sílthéy doesn't, and that is unbearable. Add that to Shinjai avoiding her and Marcie growing distant, and she has very little time for introspection, even if that would help fix things.
Marcie - Marcie is done with Mewni. She can't believe she believed the Butterflys' lies for so long. She's going to devote herself to Septarsis as fervently as she did Mewni. She just... she doesn't want to bother anyone, or take anyone's time. Why should she get attention paid to her, when there are stronger and smarter magic users out there who could do so much to actually help the world? Marcie is small and useless, and clearly so easily tricked. Better to work on herself before she brings anyone else into her orbit. Also, Star keeps making bad decisions, and Marcie's boundaries are pushing her away too... maybe it's better to do everything alone.
Ludo - Ludo is having a great time! He's earned the trust of some of the monsters in the Avarius village, his plumbing has been fixed, and Pemma is teaching him how to use the Avarius Beacon! Certainly nothing bad is going to happen to him or anyone he cares about! :D
Buff Frog - I'll confess here: Buff Frog is not a huge part of s5. He'll appear in the finale, but he's not a fighter anymore, and lives a peaceful life in Septarsis. He still has fond feelings for Star, but he's not too worried about her. She's strong, and he has twelve young froglets to take care of. She'll be fine on her own... right?
Toffee - Una'met Co'tzin-Nekohtzaca, Last Child of Old Septarsis, The Forces of Evil, Kéta'cha For the Dragon of Space, is doing FINE. They're definitely not five bad seconds away from a total mental breakdown, definitely not, that would be bad for everyone involved, and they are a calm, peaceful, certified not-doing-bad-things-er. The fact that everyone is almost certainly going to die a horrible death from dark magic is fine. They just have to cram thirty-plus years of training into the rapidly-dwindling time before the entire multiverse is dead. They barely know Star Butterfly, except that she's too good for things like "basic training" and "reading." How are they going to do this? And why won't Sílthéy tell them why she caused this in the first place? Well, they do know one thing, which is they can't tell Star about that.
Jackie - Jackie is done with Star Butterfly. She's talked to... someone, and done some digging, and that only served to verify the book she was given in s4. She doesn't know anything about Mewni save for what the book told her, but she can't believe that she trusted the family that doomed her dimension.
Janna - Janna doesn't like this apocalypse. No chance of survival is boring. So she's going to do what she can to help out. Also, she's been keeping her own secrets, secrets that might hold the key to survival.
Tom - Tom isn't angry anymore. He's not angry at Eclipsa for keeping Miquiz locked up, he's not angry for the Butterflys for spreading the dark magic that's thrown the Underworld into chaos, he's not angry that he keeps being left out of things. He's. Not. Angry. Anymore!
Moon - Moon didn't kill her mother. She didn't. It was Toffee, Toffee who couldn't come up with some loophole, Toffee who couldn't forget a conversation that happened when they were a child, Toffee who aimed the arrow at Comet's chest. And her holding onto anger isn't what's driving Star away from her, it's Toffee. They're the one driving her daughter away from her! But as cold reality and remaining dark secrets loom behind her, her brittle facade is beginning to crumble.
Glossaryck - Glossaryck misses when he and Star got along. Yeah, he's destroying her dimension, and everyone in it, and her, all to win kudos from his family, but it really sucks that Star won't give him the time of day anymore. He used to be her wise old mentor! Geez, she was going to die anyways, that's what mortals do! Might as well get along before it happens!
River - River is tired of being left out of the loop. He doesn't know what's going on. He doesn't know what to do. Moon barely speaks to him, she's always busy with Eclipsa, or whatever. But he might be the thing Moon needs, if she would only let him in.
Angie - Angie doesn't know if she should have had Mariposa. Sure, Mari is wonderful, and she loves her, and she DID NOT have a baby to replace Marcie dear god why were the svtfoe writers like that – *ahem* but the multiverse is ending, and Mariposa is just a baby... she didn't want to bring a baby into this world just to have them all die.
Rafael - Rafael is worried about Star. He's worried there's nothing he and Angie can do to help her. He's worried about Marcie. She seems really stressed about the dark magic. But he's the calm, goofy dad, so he's going to keep being that, and praying it'll help somehow.
Mariposa - Mariposa is fresh to the world, and doesn't understand much of anything yet. But everyone is worried she won't survive long enough to understand the world at all.
Kelly - Kelly is chilling. Apparently Star and Marcie are off on a trip to Septarsis, but that's none of her business as long as art classes and hangouts with Nova and Jorby go well. She might drop by to visit, though.
Miss Heinous - Saint Olga is dead. Miss Heinous's one reason for existing, her greatest love and greatest enemy, the robot who raised her, is dead. What does Miss Heinous do now?
Meteora - Meteora's doing great. She's won popular opinion, she's training to be a true Crown Princess, or at least a high-ranking official, if Sílthéy's democracy takes off. She's stepped into her role as a leader, far more than her mother could claim. But that's fine. Not everyone is suited for leadership.
Eclipsa - Eclipsa has an albatross around her neck. She is doing her best to ignore it, to be a good queen, to love her people, but... she cannot get away from the child she killed. Would it be easier if she was just always evil, not done one evil act out of rage and grief? Well, she knows what happened to her mother. What does she do now?
Globgor - Globgor is doing his best. He's a little miffed by Sílthéy mistrusting him, as her first big act of s5 will be to demonstrate how little he's valued as a Legitimate Voice of the Monsters, but really, who can complain. There's so much else going on, who cares if he fades into the background?
Shinjai - Shinjai gets the wand. Shinjai does not want the wand, and the circumstances surrounding her getting the wand are ridiculous, but she gets it, and she hates it, and she can't control it. Unlike Star, her inability to control the wand makes her not want to use the wand at all lest she hurt someone with it. Oh, and Star keeps wanting to teach her fun spells now that she's been handed this nuclear bomb of a magic wand, and Shinjai does not want to deal with Star. She hasn't forgiven Star. She doesn't want to forgive Star. She'll ignore Star as much as she can, and focus instead on Alice and the teen militia, which is much more fun. She loves Alice. She loves learning to fight, learning to battle the most dangerous people in the multiverse and win WITHOUT the help of a wand. She'd be doing great, if her past would stop knocking at her door.
Rasticore - Rasticore's worried about his partner. Una is fraying at the seams trying to fix everything, and he has the feeling they're not telling him something. But what else is new? He'll wait. He has friends to make, a new teenage militia to help train, and a Miss Heinous to keep from destroying Septarsis stone by stone. He's endlessly patient. When Una wants to talk to him, he'll be there for them. He just... has... to... wait...
Mina - Mina is trying to destroy the world. She doesn't tell her followers that, no, they don't even know the dark magic is a thing, but she wants Glossaryck to win and the Solarian Age, of which she is the last remnant, to end everything with it. So she'll destroy the world, and fulfill Solaria's dream of taking the Forces of Evil with her.
Lilacia - Lilacia is, somehow, a spoiler. Like, legitimately, the Princess Formerly Known as Ponyhead's role in s5 is a spoiler, and not for magic power-up speech cliché reasons. But she's still her dumb, ditzy self, of course.
Still Unnamed Mystery Character - "Stella" is still mysterious, but I promise you we'll get who she is and her backstory in this part ;)
Alice - Alice is wary of the new Mewman presence on the outskirts of Septarsis. She knows why they're there, but she's still extremely suspicious. She does not want them to hurt Septarsis. But she doesn't know that the true danger comes a little closer to home.
Teyauh - Teyauh is also a spoiler, but she'll be there!
Linda - Linda loves her wife, and will follow her anywhere, but Teyauh will have to accept that her knees don't work how they used to, so Linda will have to follow in a suit of POWER ARMOR, BABY!
Nova - Nova is part of the Nuxalkmc, an Indigenous tribe native to the Northwestern Turtle Island, and she loves that about herself. Now that Kelly and her dimensional scissors are here, she can finally explore the multiverse to find new places and see if they're anything like home. Septarsis is one of those places, and she loves it at first sight.
Dr. Edevane - Dr. Edevane is a doctor. He and Toffee have a lot to nerd out talk about together. He will be useful, too.
Dennis - Dennis is busy reigning in dozens of siblings, including Ludo. It's a busy life, but a happy one. Nothing bad whatsoever will happen to him! (I'm lying)
Chloe - Chloe doesn't know this "Star Butterfly" person, but she's very suspicious. But man, Mewni would be such a cool place to visit... so much magic! ...No, she needs to concentrate on being mad. And she is mad. She wants Earth to be like Mewni, like it deserves to be.
Hekapoo - Hekapoo doesn't like her dad's plan. He says it'll work out, it's fine, but the plan is... questionable. She doesn't like it. And she definitely isn't getting conflicting feelings about puppeteering her brother around, either...
Rhombulus - Ṯ̶̡̧̧̡̧̠͉̻̦̜̭͚̰̪̣̬̠̦̲̹̯̯̮̹̰̺̣̳̬̳̬͙̙̞̹͚͖̼̲̰̼̻̭͇̘̻̹͔̝͌͐̀̇̓̀́̄̇̓̊̚ͅH̶̛̠̽̎̇̽̉̃̔͒̽̈́͌͝Ȩ̸̢̧̛̛͔̭͍̪͈͚̮̘͙̭̳͍̺͖̗͇͍̘̱̉̽͑̆̌̓̆͛̓̌̈́̐̾͑̅͂͗̔̽̌̋̈́̎̈́́̓̓͌̆̄͐̀̋̅͂̒̓̔͗̈͊̊͆̄̒͘͘̚͘͝͝͠͠͠͠ͅ ̷̧̪̰͈̺̯̳̙̳̹̙̣͔̗̜̫̗̲̠̙̝̠̯̻̯̩͈͇͉̞̙͙͈̲̻̹̰̳̣̤̣̀́̐͆͜͜͜ͅͅK̵̨͎̙̩͓̘͇̳̩̲̝̳̼̖̯̘͖̹͙̪̰͙͔̤̭̘͖̖̪̬͓͚̫̦̝̠͍̙̊͛̏̈́͛́̒̈́͂͜͜͜͝ͅÍ̸̡̧̨̨̥͍̮̮͇̟͈͙̩̥͙̥͖͚͉̬̟̻̹̰̟̘͓̪̦̹͈̺̤̜̣̺͉̘͕̮̲͓̳͍͈͍̜̯̯̘̪͙̩͛́̐̆̈́͗͋̔̐̒̌̚͜ͅT̵̨̟̲̑̅̑̕̚T̶̨̨̨̛̞͖̻̖̞̹̜͉̦͓̣̠̗̘̣̺̲̹̘̻͎̤̝̤̜̞̜̳̭͎̲͙̮͓͕̼͇̘̃̈́̑̅͐̆͛͊̎̀̈́̔̐̂͛͒̎̕͜͜Ę̴̟̻͍͓̲̙͙̬̺̖̘͎̺̯͐̍̀͊̊̃̃̐̒̊̽̅̉̒̇̎̒͗͆̓͋͂̍̎̈̓́́͌̈͌̕͘̕̕͜͝͝͠͝͝Ņ̷̡̥͕̞̘͙͇̪̺̯͕̪͖̗̙͖̭̻̳͙͖̯̺̟̳̟̪̼̤̞̘̯̘̥̏́̊̾̓̀͐̑̈́͛͊͜͝͝͝S̸̨̨̨̡̤͕͚͈̻̯̫̯̦̖̣͈͔͉͚̠̪̮͚̳͈͇̯̱̯̙̙̬͎̝̪̬̦̙͇̝̲̤̰̃͒̓͒̾̀̋̎̊̈̀́̐̎̇͜͝ͅ ̵̧̧̛̣͉͕̤̻͔̰̜̺̮̘̞̠͓͚̹̗͒͐̽́̆̈́́̏̀̎̋͌̔́̌͗̎̍̉̀̃͌͂̎̽̿̃͂̎̽̌̈́̄́̀́̓̿̅́̎͆̾̆͑͌̔̿̑́́̕̕̕͝͝͝M̸̢̡̨̭͓̘͙̟̩̦͎̤̟̮̤͍͔̝̑̀̅̊̑̊́̂̈͑̽͋̃̑͋͐̆͆͊̈́́̋͑̋͜͝I̸̡̛̖̺͇͎͕̗̹̦̦̻̻̙͈͔̮̭̤̺͚͙͙͖̱̙͚̣̼̠̺̘̐̄͋͒̒͗̎̓͐͗͛̊̀̓̄̅̆̇̐͒̄̌̔͗̒̎̃̒̊̍̋͐̊͛͘͠͝͝͠S̴̨̡̡̨̲̖̺̭̺̱̰͎͓͇̰̙͙̩̯̺̖̲̥̜͖̦̙̹̜̻͙̠͉͇̲̲͍̞͚̭̯͕͋͐̌̾̈́̄͐̇̔͜͝͝Ş̴̢̨̢̝̬̤̯̗̞̳̟̞̲̠̮͇̻͙͖̻̜̺̘̑̑̆̈́̇͋͗͒͒́̅́́̚̕͝ ̷̨̡̡̛̛͚̩̣̠̠̹̘̟̼̘̤͇͖͓̙̺̙̮͚̫̺͖̠͇͙̏̆̋̆̀̅̓̔͋̐̐͛̃̾̃̿̓́̑̇̏̈̉͊̂̍̾͑̐̈́̀̑͑̈́̏͗̇͋̀̆́̍̊̃̀͐͘̚̚͝͝͠͝ͅͅḨ̶̨̧̻̺̟͚̠͍̗͙̗̹͇̗̦͔͕̮̦͖͔̝͚̟̖̖͉̾̔͒̓̋̀̔̅̿̈̑͆̀̇̇̄̈́́͋̿͐͆̔̂̈́͋̈́̊̊̈́̓̈́͋̕͘͝͝͝I̷̡̡̢̨̹͎̼̻̖̗̭̫̩̣̬̻̦̠̗̰̥͕̗̟̯̰͉͙̯͖̦͚̟̖̞͍̦̙̯̲̲̖̲̲̜͚̓̍͜ͅM̶̧̡̢̧̧̙̥̭̲̖̦͙̘̙͈͓͖̩̜̦͍̦̘͍̘͕̳̜̱͚̥̹͓͕͉͔͕̫̺̮͕̳͖͉̭̺͙̠͖̥͕͖͙̜̉͑͛̎̓̈́͐͋̐̀̏̊̀̽͋̈́͊̄͌̋̌̐̓̄̉̓͒̕̕͝͠͠͝ͅͅͅ
Reynaldo - Reynaldo looks and looks and he does and does, but he does not win this bet. It is the thing he wants most, that he will do all sorts of terrible, horrible-things-that-make-him-want-to-throw-up to get. What is it?
Omnitraxus Prime - Omni will do anything to protect the multiverse. Including trusting zir dad, who is looking more untrustworthy by the day, and trusting Mina, who was never trustworthy in the first place. Mina has much more training than Star, and strong magical ability from spending three hundred years close to the wand, and it's the best option... right?
Necahua - Necahua is a mess currently, and being a mess leaves you more open to mistakes. Uh oh! Una still loves them, though.
In fact, I made a short story in my creative writing class about the relationships between Una'met, Necahua, and Cayeto, since I feel they got overlooked in the main story. Yes, no one in my class had any idea what was going on. I'll post it next, before chapters 1 and 2 of s5.
Cayeto - Cayeto is also in the short story. He doesn't play a huge role in the main plot, but he is just another reason Toffee does the things they do. He died hoping that Una and Necahua, specifically, survived, and Necahua died, so he does not have the best grip on reality.
Xocochiapal - Xoco is the de-facto ghost leader of the ghosts now. No legislation without representation, right? Toffee does most of the work, but she's in charge when they can't address a thing right away. She was right despite everyone else blindly going to their deaths, and now everyone knows it. She also was the highest-ranked Septarian to become a ghost, and her hatred of the Mewman occupation is a clear and strong motivation.
Tecoloa - Tecoloa is the voice of reason. The good one. She died protecting her elementary school class from the worst of the heat, and that caring nature has translated into protecting everyone she can.
Sílthéy - Sílthéy is a character now, and OH BOY is she happy about it. She hates Star and will never get over it, and she loves to remind Star of that fact. She feels immense guilt for what happened with Septarsis, and will never get over that, either. She is a mess, but she's been hiding her messiness for 0/0 years, so she's a pro. And it's not like anyone here can stop her from being a mess, can they? So she'll go on being a mess in her corner, and she'll be fine. Her hobbies include storytelling, dissing Star, and doing the most bizarre stuff in the background of any given scene. She owns her weirdness. She's annoying, but that just makes her more fun to write.
Mocel - Mocel is mad at Eclipsa. She's mad at all Mewmans, really. She cares a lot about Miquiz, and she hates that he's locked up while she, with her lightweight ash body, can sneak out whenever she likes. The world isn't fair, and she knows it.
Miquiz - Miquiz is dying a second time. The dark magic wound on his chest is expanding. He doesn't want to leave, not without seeing the sun again, but he may not have a choice. He doesn't want to leave without saying something to Eclipsa, but again, no choice. He doesn't know what to do.
Tecolo - Tecolo is just vibin. He wants to see Ludo again, and he will, but he's mostly busy having fun with his dead and living relatives after centuries floating in the void.

Eclipsa and Eda BFF Headcanons ♥️ 🍫 ♥️ 🍫
Tumblr media Tumblr media
♥️ Original headcanons 🍫
♥️ Ao3 version 🍫
(This is Season 1 Eda btw.)
• They are now magical witch lady buds for life! They just are.
• Eclipsa was fond of Eda’s rebelliousness! The owl lady outlaw reminded the queen so much of herself! Plus, she absolutely adores her outfit, hair, and ears, often complimenting her on them.
• Eda was a tiny bit hesitant of Eclipsa at first, mostly because she was a “mewman”, a species she had never heard of before. However, once she saw that not only was the Queen of Darkness a magic user as well, but overall a fun person to be around, she decided to open up more to her and befriend her.
• Eclipsa shows Eda a spell that keeps both Warden Wrath and the Coven Guards away.
• She also introduces Eda to Snooker bars. 🍫
• The most powerful witch on the Boiling Isles now has a chocolate addiction. 🍫
• Eda takes Eclipsa on crazy, wild, rides with her staff.
• The two have a girls night out where they go shopping, cause mischief, dress King up in ridiculously cute outfits that he describes as hideous, but loves them, and drink tea while talking crap about their exes.

I just noticed. Sorry for saying this but, Toffee looks upseted at the meat's "sorry" letter, then looked a bit sad?
Some monsters worship Toffee, but some monsters are bitter towards him. I wonder if that might depend on what he wants to do about Butterfly Family.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He might be reluctant to kill Comet/Moon. If so, he'd couldn't stop the monsters, who had grudges against Butterfly Family. Probably he wasn't one of the young Septarians affected by Seth, but it seemed Rasticore most trusted him.
btw I think I was wrong, everyone would know the letters of meat. As Moon served meat, more monsters had stand front of her.
Tumblr media
Although it's strange, Toffee may had watching monsters to let them not do terrible to Moon/Star. He also looks to be making a threat rather than proactive attack, except for most of S2 screen times. but he might a bit aggressive with Marco.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Toffee might have hatred of Glossaryck more than Butterfly Family. He was a historian and magic researcher, apparently. dunno how much he knows about Mewni's history and magic, but Glossaryck created Mewman and Butterfly Family then let them steal the monster's land. Although that doesn't seem to be what Glossaryck wanted.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He tried to do something to Moon, but what if that was for stop Moon from being eroded by dark magic? (That magic seems to make angst grow)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, Why doesn't he make any excuses?
I wonder if his crazyness when manipulating Ludo in S2 is caused by being in Realm of Magic, where filled with dark magic. His facial expression was very different between when he was inside and after he left. Still he was able to move things rationally. You know, does he was be like "OK I'm a bad guy If you guys want to make me bad I could be"? Hmm.
He doesn't usually seem to mind about his finger. so, I wonder he had lost something important because of magic (sorry). Probably the reason he was so obsessed with get his finger back was because it reminded him things.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Moon made a deal with Eclipsa to beat Toffee by dark magic, because Glossaryck showed her that page of magic spell book. Eclipsa's dark magic had the effect of giving the monsters the fear that they would never win against Butterfly Family. Toffee's death leads to Eclipsa's awakening. Dark magic was ingrained in Moon for over 14 years, I think that would made grown her vengefulness. That may have made her life to hard, and may lead to her anger for Eclipsa.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Toffee revealed that he had something planned for unknown future vision before his death, but never said his plan wasn't wrong. I feel like some invisible force was at work for their choices. I think Glossaryck was talking about an invisible goat that can help something.
Besides, Being the only one who knows everything also means that no one can understand him. Then, I wonder if he had an unknown reason to for being sympathetic to Butterfly Family but also angly with them. I got feeling he was in dilemma between the two sides, may had gave up on being understood, then hostile to magic for the unknown reason, I wonder. So maybe it was best for him that Star said "Toffee was right".
Tumblr media
However, this all may be too delusional.

Wait, if belos is looking for boys to infect and become a vessel for his big brother, was there a time he tried to infect Molly’s little brother with a cadou because his sister’s compatable with it?
Was Mariposa kidnapped alongside Marco Diaz because she’s collateral for belos wanting Marco as a vessel?
-Belos didn't bother with Darryl. Molly was compatible, but her power was too weak, so Belos figured it'd be the same with her brother. (Not to mention there was too much of a gamble in that scenario. One sibling was enough, but a second one would raise suspicion).
Marco is the more ideal candidate because he survived a LOT and has a bit of the cadou inside him thanks to Bill (which was done as a sort of backup 'screw you' to him and Star.)
-I think Mariposa was a sort of 'at the wrong place at the wrong time,' and the girl was none too happy to be seperated from her brother when he was crystalized (and... ah... put in four flasks, just like in the game.)
Eclipsa called dibs on Mariposa really fast, and Belos allowed it since it wouldn't have made much of a difference and had a plan for getting rid of the lords since he didn't need them anymore...
Mariposa was safe at Eclipsa's at first, and even befriended Meteora. But shit went down, Eclipsa got crystalized by Belos for failing to stop Star, as did Globgor as part of the punishment, and Star was disturbed by those events. Meteora was spared (since she didn't have a cadou inside her to activate the specific crystalization process), and both she and Mariposa were entrusted to Papa Titan (along with the crystalized Eclipsa and Globgor) for safe keeping.
....Oh yeah... the crystalization thing from the game. I'll talk about that in a separate post. You don't even have to ask about that one because I finally figured out how to bring that into the AU. And... let's just say I know some people are not going to be happy with me.

SvtFoE Rhombulus Rewrite (Pt. 6)
Tumblr media
Hey, it’s been a while since you saw my face-
All jokes aside, sorry for being gone for so long. In my defense, I was in college, then I had seasonal depression which made it hard to do much of anything creative-wise. This is admittedly one of my favorite fan projects, so I always feel bad about not updating it. But I have managed to get back into it again (finally) and wanted to release one of the easier parts to do. (@bawfulio @sagesilentfire tagging you since you guys have been following this AU since the beginning and have been waiting the longest for an update)
Anyways, Monsters and Mewmans, Crystals and Chimeras, welcome back to my Rhombulus Rewrite! Check out this post if you have no clue what the heck I’m talking about or you want to read the previous parts. As I said in Part 4, this part will be one of the two possible ends I have to this AU. Ya’ll can choose which one you prefer. This one is called the “Closest to Canon Ending” and is also sad. It will not focus on the problems with the ending as a whole and shall instead be more about fixing Rhombulus’ part. I’ll admit, though I prefer the second ending as a finale, I’m pretty proud of this one as well, as it has some stuff I’m pretty proud of writing wise. I did make myself sad though, so there’s that.
Closest to Canon Ending (AKA Ending 1):
- This ending is kinda if I switched Rhombulus and Hekapoo’s parts, but Rhombulus had a more proper and fitting redemption. Also, it might make some character choices make more sense.
- So, the first big changes happen in “Ready, Aim, Fire”. We overhear Rhombulus arguing with Hekapoo and Omni about how to handle the Mina situation, saying that even though they may not like it, they need to protect Eclipsa and her family since it’s the right thing to do and they can’t let Mina take over.
- This is when Hekapoo reveals that they have been backing Mina the whole time, which horrifies Rhombulus. He says that he is disappointed in them, and will go out to support Eclipsa and co, even if he has to fight Hekapoo and Omni. He then runs outside.
- We don’t see what happened to Rhombulus until “The Right Way,” where he jumps into the battle as things are looking dire. We get some pretty cool action stuff from him, which should be fun.
- He even helps out various monsters, using his crystals to protect them. It brings his arc full circle, showing him go from someone who fights monsters to someone who protects them like he would protect any other innocent civilian. It’s a good moment for him.
- But unfortunately, Rhombulus gets seriously hurt by the Solarian Blade multiple times, and since he and the rest of the MHC are basically monsters, the blades actually work on them. I think it’ll be the most shocking (and plot convenient) if Rhombulus loses his tails, as they are his main weapons and method of self defense.
- He’ll manage to play it off like he is fine, but will need help soon. Maybe he’ll convince them that he probably won’t die. He might not even realize the blades work so well on him, especially since his magic is making him more asymptomatic. He’s good at hiding how bad he is doing, mainly because he is still able to walk and run and other stuff. But he can’t fight and needs to sit down a lot, so he won’t be able to do much during the Moon reveal.
- Instead of that horrible first kiss scene between Star and Marco, I have decided to give them a platonic love scene in a way, since I want the ending to not seem too random but still keep things platonic.
- Star is clearly upset and overwhelmed by everything, even though she might not be able to express it properly. She eventually tensely says that she’s going to do [insert helpful yet distracting task], and Marco offers to help her. She agrees, and while they’re working, Marco says that he knows something is bothering her, and she can talk about it if she wants.
- Star confesses that she’s been feeling extremely alone and scared lately. Multiple of her friends are severely hurt and could easily die, and she can’t do anything about it. She fought so hard and is trying to stay strong, and even despite all that, she feels like she’s failed at keeping people safe.
- Marco says that she is the reason less people have been hurt, and that everyone chose to fight and stand up against Mina, knowing the risk they would be in. It’s not her fault this happened. He then assures her that no matter what, they will always be best friends, and he’ll be there for her no matter what.
- Pretend we’ve also had a lot more great friendship moments between them this season, so that the show clearly shows their dynamic as important to the plot.
- Anyways, back to everything else. This rewrite is called the Rhombulus Rewrite after all.
- “Pizza Party” will be renamed “Where the Blame Lies,” and instead of the MHC having a pizza party, we will see Hekapoo and Omni arguing over whether or not they made the right choice, and if they should go after Rhombulus. It’s a very short, tense scene, where Hekapoo believes that Rhombulus is wrong, but they should still go look for him to talk, and Omni believes that Rhombulus is “too far gone.”
- They decide to split up, with Hekapoo choosing to go after Rhombulus, and Omni choosing to do his own thing.
- Meanwhile, Rhombulus ends up fleeing with Star and co, pretending that he is fine, until he ends up collapsing while they are running. Mina declares Rhombulus a traitor, and attacks him, causing yet another major blow to his body, where many of the other scars have already spread far.
- As Eclipsa and Marco help him up and try to support him, Mina declares her plan to wipe out all monsters and monster-supporters. The group tries to escape, but are soon surrounded. Mina goes in for the kill, but a portal opens up under Star, Marco, Eclipsa, Moon, and Rhombulus, whisking them away. They find themselves in the middle of a forest, saved by Hekapoo.
- This is where “Tavern at the End of the Multiverse” starts. Hekapoo is horrified at Rhombulus’ condition, and after picking him up, she says that she knows a place where all of them can hide. And so she takes them to the Tavern at the End of the Multiverse. This space is also a bit of a safe zone for all different types of people, and has some private rooms if needed.
- Hekapoo takes Rhombulus into one of them to see if she can help him somehow. Star argues with Moon, but they are interrupted by Hekapoo, who says that she needs them to come over to where Rhombulus is. He’s in terrible condition, with the wounds having fully spread all over him.
- It’s a really sad scene, especially when he begins telling Hekapoo that he can see Lekmet, and they are going to be reunited soon. Hekapoo is extremely distraught and basically in denial, while Rhombulus is basically accepting what is happening.
- He tells Hekapoo not to worry too much about it, and that their time is close to ending anyways, he just wishes he could have seen everyone win. He tells Star to do better than those who came before her, and that she will be able to fix the world. Then, my boy dies.
- While I still don’t like the whole “destroy all magic” plotline, I thought that something like this would be cool in helping explain the rationale for a few characters. In Star’s case, this is a bit of a breaking point for her. This is where she begins to have her “I hate magic” moment, because she just lost a close friend due to the damage magic can cause when in the wrong hands.
- And Hekapoo being chill with Star destroying magic makes a lot more sense. She too just lost someone important to her, basically her favorite sibling, and is in a more apathetic state. Hekapoo is mad and sees that the MHC has fallen down a bad path that has slowly destroyed them. Her attitude is less chill and carefree and more angry and resentful.
For Ending 1, I don’t really have any other changes, because all I really wanted to do for this ending is the scene where Rhombulus dies, so that’s the end of that. I think Ending 2 will be a much better ending as a whole, but I thought of Ending 1 first, and kind of liked aspects of it. It’s very bittersweet, and I wanted to make a version that stays faithful to the OG.
However, the OG is also terrible, so I decided to make another version anyways, especially since I wanted a version where Rhombulus can live. Stay tuned for Ending 2, which will hopefully be coming soon! Or at least, a special post before that giving extra context for Ending 2 (spoilers, I reworked Mina a bit).
Thanks for all your support, and I hope you like what I have in store, since I’ve been working on Ending 2 for a while now. Hopefully this will keep you company in the meantime.

Oh God, can you share Eclipsa's reaction to Toffee's "death"?
Like… as in… when Star melted him? And Ludo crushed him with a pillar? And Star put his eye in her secrets closet? That “death”?
Honestly? She didn’t even know he was dead or “was killed” in the first place. She didn’t know anything about where he was or what he was doing, and was way too focused on other things (the trial, her daughter and husband, ruling Mewni, and adjusting to the world she was dropped into, etc.) to put any thought towards him. Not to mention they didn’t exactly end on good terms (putting it lightly). She wouldn’t go out looking for him that’s for certain… she’s too torn up about what happened. She pushed all her feelings down about it. He crosses her mind sometimes, but she brushes it off.
It’s hard to say, but no, throughout the course of the show she really isn’t thinking about him too much, or at least doesn’t outwardly show that she’s thinking about him.
Like her older cousin, she just kind of acknowledges that he’s not part of her life now. (Her cousin because she’s long dead and Toffee because he’s long gone). They’re important to her past, but now she’s been dropped into the future and has to press forward and focus on her family and who is important for her future.
This kind of goes along with my post about Star mentioning his name in Stranger Danger. That’s really the only notable time she thought about him, before quickly just “ok but that’s not my Toffee they’re talking about. My Toffee is this shy, smiley sweetheart who couldn’t hurt a fly” and forgetting about it.
She hopes deep inside that he’s still alive and happy, but doesn’t believe he’ll come back into her life. Wherever he is, she wishes him nothing but the best.
So, no, Moon and Star didn’t give her any real explanation on what happened that led to her freedom. She fully believes Seth’s dead and his death is what freed her :). Moon doesn’t want to talk about it and it’s just never been prominent enough to bring up.
Eclipsa doesn’t find out anything until Toffee has already come back. And that’s saved for a comic of its own.
