Kinda pissed Oliver didn’t even put at least Leo Snart and Ray Terrill on earth prime, like- there isn’t even a doppelgänger issue cause Leonard DIED, and Ray Terrill is literally from earth one. the fact that they fit almost all the qualifications for an earth prime crossover, I mean Leo is close with the legends and The flash, and Ray Terrill knows almost everyone including Vixen.

Please note that I am writing this at 2:30 am, but like- Christ Oliver, I know we can’t merge earth-x with earth prime, but why can’t I just have this one thing.

Summary: What if superheroes had to pay a property damage tax every time they had a fight in the city?

As Kara flew, she replayed over and over again what Clark had just said to her.

I just received a distress signal on my device from my mom. It looks like it is coming from the farm. I am still far out in space and won’t make it in time. Please hurry and help her!

Martha Kent was the first one who welcomed Kara to Earth. She was actually the one who found her when she crash-landed on the planet. She was so kind and loving which was something Kara so desperately needed after seeing her own world shatter before her very eyes. Once Kara got settled at the farm, Martha immediately told Clark about her. 

It wasn’t that Clark wasn’t welcoming. He was more cautious. Kara was initially understanding at first. Unfortunately, Zod had come before her and caused havoc on Earth. After Clark sent him to the phantom zone, it took him over a year to rebuild people’s trust in him. Now, he had Kara, a new Kryptonian popping into his life, and he wasn’t sure what her intentions were. Every time he looked at Kara, he seemed conflicted about how to respond. So she gave him space. She stayed at the farm while Clark continued his life in Metropolis. It wasn’t bad. Martha was a second mother to her. She would offer her advice and help her acclimate to society. Kara knows that part of the reason that they bonded was through their tragic losses. Kara had lost everything she knew, and Martha had just lost the love of her life. They leaned on each other to try to continue living. They talked about everything, but the thing that made her the most happy was Martha’s willingness to listen to her tales of Krypton. Clark avoided the subject like the plague, but Martha fully immersed herself. She listened eagerly through all her stories and a lot of the literature that the Fortress of Solitude had. She had also started to learn Kryptonian. She was at a beginner level still, but it made Kara’s heart swell that there was someone else with whom she could converse in her mother language. She couldn’t imagine another person in her life being taken again after everything she went through. 

Kara went as fast as she could. She thinks that she broke Mach 5 which she knows will put her in the DEO and possibly the IRS radar again especially if there was property damage. However, Kara didn’t give a damn. She needed to make sure Martha was safe. When she saw the farm in her field of vision, she had to fight her instinct to burst through the door. She remembered how being rash just weeks before nearly led to her almost losing her and Barry’s life, and she didn’t want the same thing to happen to Martha. She flew around the farm while using her X-ray vision. She didn’t see anything unusual until she saw the house. What she saw caused her to go from being frighten to more confused than anything else. She landed as gently as she could on the ground (due to Martha going off on both Clark and Kara for leaving craters across her lawn) and quickly walked to the house. She looked under the mat on the porch to get the spare key and entered the house. She heard noises coming from the kitchen and followed them. Once she got there, she saw Clark in his Superman costume sitting next to an embarrassed Martha in a robe at the kitchen table. 

She scanned the room and noticed that there were two long-stemmed candles in the middle of the table and two plates that had little bits of half-eaten food on them. Next to the plates were two wine glasses. One was empty and the other was a quarter of the way full. There were rose petals on the floor that led out of the kitchen into the hallway. If she had to guess, Kara thinks they probably lead to Martha’s bedroom. She then looked back and forth between Clark and Martha once more. Martha still looked like she wanted to crawl into a hole and die somewhere. Clark had an unnerving look about him. She had seen that look before when he was about to go into a rage. She can tell that he is holding back by the way he is gripping the table. Considering that it is made from nth metal (the strongest in the galaxy) and was starting to bend slightly tells her that something happened. She had a pretty good idea of what happened but didn’t want to assume. 

Please let this idiot not have called me because his mother actually decided to have a love life. 

She looked back and forth between them hesitantly and said, “Clark, you told me to come here because there was an emergency, but it doesn’t seem like there is one taking place. Was the emergency device activated in error or did something else happen?”

Clark stared at her coldly for a moment and said, “Since I brought you in, I didn’t expect much, but I damn well-expected loyalty.”

Kara looked back at him shocked, and said, “I have no idea what you are talking about.”

Clark sneered at her and said, “Don’t feign innocence with me. You know what you did, and I need you to terminate the contract you have with them right now.”

Kara looked at him surprised for a minute and then it dawned on her. 

Don’t tell me this whiny bitch went to tattle on me to mommy.

Kara clenched her fist. She knew that Clark would get irritated. That was her goal, but she hated that Martha got dragged into this mess and ruined her evening. She took a deep breath to try to keep calm. 

Kara forced a smile and said, “I am taking a guess you heard about my partnership with the hospital.”

Clark slammed his hand on the table and yelled, “You’re damn right! You took a job with the enemy!”

Martha looked confused between Kara and Clark and said, “I don’t understand. How is working at the hospital some type of betrayal?”

Clark turned to Martha with a disgusted look while pointing his finger directly at Kara.

“You always defended her saying that she came to Earth to do no harm and that we should trust her. But she has been working with the enemy this whole time.”

“And who exactly is the enemy?” asked Martha hesitantly.

Clark turned towards Kara and spat, “Lena Luthor.”

“Lena is a civilian who runs the local hospital for children in my area. There are no records of her doing anything nefarious or the hospital for that matter. She is not only smart but very kind-hearted,” said Kara lofty. 

Clark smirked and said, “Oh, I thought that you were smart enough not to get sucked into the Luthor’s charm. They appear nice, but they are nothing but a bunch of vipers.”

Kara smirked and said, “I didn’t realize that you have a grudge against anyone last named Luthor. Doesn’t this go against the Almighty Superman’s policy about tolerance and acceptance?”

“They deserve nothing from us!” exclaimed Clark. 

Kara raised an eyebrow and asked, “Are you really going to let your hatred for one person spread to everyone else?”

Clark shook his head, scoffed, and said, “I knew that you would be unreasonable which is why I thought mom could talk some sense into you.”

He turned to his mom expecting some backup. However, when he looked at his mom, she stared at with with a rage in her eyes that caused his face to go pale. 

“Mom, why….”

Martha held up her hand to silence him. He gulped and sat silent.

Kara had to stop herself from bursting out laughing. 

Can’t believe he is such a mama’s boy.

Martha rubbed the back of her head for a moment and turned to look back at Clark with an angry glare in her eyes which caused him to back up a little. 

“Let me see if I understand this. You forced me to hurry out of bed and didn’t give me a chance to put on any clothes because of some big emergency….”

“But mom…”

“Excuse me, did I say that I was finished speaking?”

Clark looked down and said, “No ma’am.”

“I thought so. You bring me out here half dress because you said that Kara was in some type of crisis and all of this is because she is working with Lena Luthor? You have known Lena all of her life. Where the hell is all of this aggression coming from?”

That last statement piqued Kara’s interest. 

Kara frowned and asked, “Wait. Martha is making it sound like that not only have you known each other for a while, but you have at least been friendly towards one another in the past.”

Where He Belongs [Prt.1 of Earth-X AU’]

My version of what happened to Earth X’s Barry Allen and how the SS came about thanks to Kara and Oliver.

Part One | Part Two

Kara leaned against her husband and gently traced the outline of the brunet who was frozen on the screen in front of them.

“He’s just as beautiful as I remember him being.” Oliver said in a somber tone that had Kara swallowing hard.

“He looks so happy there, with that woman.” Kara hissed as she swiped her fingers so Iris West was cropped from the photo and all that remained was Barry Allen with a beautiful laugh on his smiling face.

“He’s happy with his versions of us as well, but none of them can make him as happy as we can, as we did.” Oliver wrapped his arm around her waist holding his wife close him as the images of Barry Allen and their counterparts showing up on the screen next.

“He’ll be happy here, away from all his battles and enemies. We can keep him happy like before.” Kara longed for their third to rejoin them; she never forgot the day he had been taken from them. The day they knew that this world would be theirs and that the people running it were not worth saving. After everything they did for the Earth and it’s people, they turned their backs on them when they needed to save their Speedster.

“He’ll try to change us, appeal to what goodness is left in us.” Oliver warned as they watched him talk down a gunman and held the crying man close before letting the cops take him away.

“We’ll pretend to let him, let him think he is changing us but in reality will we will be changing him.” Kara promised as she trailed her fingers up and down Oliver’s neck as they watched the Speedster on the security feeds they had tapped into.

“I do love your mind.” Oliver purred as he kissed Kara’s head before he backed off when her eyes glowed red as her anger increased.

“He and that West girl will be married in a few days, we can not let that happen. If he is married to her then he will fight against us stronger than before.” Kara hissed at the sight of the two inside a church helping with planning the decorations.

“Then we will take him before his wedding, imagine the outrage that will happen when the groom doesn’t show up to his own wedding.” Oliver smirked.

“I do love your mind darling.” Kara grinned and with one last look at Barry smiling innocently on the screen the two got to work and sent out the orders to prepare the portal.

“Hey Oliver, I got your message.” Barry skid to a halt in front of Oliver who was leaning against the alley wall.  

“Thanks for coming Barry.” Oliver pushed himself off the wall, heart beating faster at seeing this Barry in person, he was almost the exact same as their Barry had been.

“Of course, so are you going to come to my wedding?” Barry bounced on his feet looking excited.

“Wouldn’t miss it for the world, I just wanted to see how you’re doing.” Oliver stepped closer to Barry, glad when the Speedster doesn’t notice in fact he leaned a bit closer with a happy smile on his face.

“I just can’t believe it’s finally happening, after everything we’ve been through…” Barry’s smile faltered for a moment and it took everything Oliver had not to wrap the brunet up into a tight hug, to kill those who had hurt the Speedster like this.

“Hey, it’s going to be fine. You’ll be with the people you love soon enough.” Oliver promised as he cupped the back of Barry’s neck, not being able to help the grin that appeared when the small needle sunk into Barry’s skin. The Speedster winced at the sudden sting and looked up at Oliver with a confused look on his face before his eyes started to glaze over. His knees gave out but Oliver caught him and held him close to his body, fingers carding through Barry’s hair in a gentle, intimate gesture.

“Ollie?” Barry’s voice gave out as his eyes rolled up into his head as the drug took hold and he went limp against Oliver’s body.

“When you wake up, you will be where you belong Barry I promise you.” Oliver pressed a kiss to Barry’s forehead before lifting the unconscious man up into his arms before he stepped into a swirling red portal that disappeared behind him.

“Where is Barry?” Oliver entered STAR labs, the Speedster was supposed to meet him at the shop to get their suits ready. Barry didn’t show and he wasn’t answering his phone.

“He was supposed to be with you?” Cisco looked up from where he was fiddling with his bowtie.

“Well he didn’t show and he’s not answering his phone, I can’t even track it.” Oliver explained and Cisco frowned.

“That’s not good, oi Harry!” Cisco cried out as he moved towards the computer bank.

“What? Can’t you tie a bowtie on this Earth?” Harry strode into the cortex with a smirk on his face.

“Help me track Barry.” Cisco shouted over his shoulder, as Oliver was proven right when Barry’s cell didn’t show up anywhere on Earth.

“I’m hacking into his phone records.” Harry said as he tapped at the screen with Oliver looking over their shoulders trying to tone down his worry. He had hoped that Barry was just fighting some criminal and his phone was smashed in the fight, but his Flash suit was still in the cortex and it was worrying when Cisco had no idea where Barry was either.

“It seems he got a message from… You?” Harry pushed his glasses up as he looked over at Oliver.

“I didn’t text him anything.” Oliver’s worry just spiked up as he looked at the text message Barry had gotten from him, telling him a location to meet.

“The feeds to that alley way were knocked out during that time, I hate to say it but it looks like Barry got taken by someone. We have to call the others in.” Cisco ran a hand through his hair, swearing under his breath as he sent out an SOS to the others.

It didn’t take them all long to gather in the cortex, Iris showed up with the ladies, Alex and Kara included while Wally flashed in followed by Sara, Mick, Jax and Stein.

“What’s going on?” Iris demanded, not liking the way Oliver, Cisco and Harry where looking at each other.

“Barry’s been taken, they pretended to be me and lured him out. We can’t find him anywhere.” Oliver gritted out, his fingers lacing with Felicity even as she gasped at the news.

“What do you mean you can’t find him?” Kara asked worry shining in her eyes.

“I mean he is literally no where on this Earth!” Cisco exclaimed gesturing to the tracking system he had going even as Caitlin looked at the computer.

“There has to be something we can do.” Wally had his arm over his sister’s shoulder as she looked pale and in shock.

“That something is going to have to wait looks like we got company!” Cisco’s eyes widened as the security feed showed a small army of soldiers wearing red and back marching through the halls of STAR labs. A blonde in a black and red skintight outfit with a matching cape and a mask covering her face hovered in front of the group, leading the way.

“Who the hell are these guys?” Sara asked as she and the others geared up or activated their powers, all aimed towards the entrance that the invaders were heading towards.

“No idea, but I have a feeling they are the ones who took Barry.” Oliver aimed an arrow at the door, letting his anger at them taking Barry fuel his strength.

“You’re not wrong about that Green Arrow, Barry Allen is where he belongs now.” A distorted female voice came from the floating blonde as the invaders entered the cortex, taking aim at the gathered hero’s.

“He belongs here with us!” Iris snapped, protective of her fiancée.

“That’s where you’re wrong little girl, he only knows pain here but with us he will know peace in the world we created in his name.” The woman sneered as the red lens of her mask glowed brighter and beams of blue light flew towards Iris, Kara jumped in the way and met the blue beams with her own heat vision.

That’s when the invader’s opened fire, Wally sped Felicity and Iris out of the way as Caitlin let Killer Frost take over and the fight broke out as everyone dodged bullets and took on the invaders. Kara cried out as the masked woman threw her against a wall while the woman floated above the floor. Kara coughed as staggered to his feet, using the broken wall to help her stand up.

“Just stay down, you will never get him back.” The woman breathed frozen air towards Kara who jumped up into the air to avoid being frozen and frowned at the other woman’s words.

“We will get him back, he’s our friend!” Kara insisted not caring as the woman threw her head back laughing loudly.

“Your friend, that means nothing compared to what he will be to my husband and I!” The woman sneered making Kara jerk back in surprise at her words.

“We’re done here, our message has been delivered! Besides I have a Speedster to go see.” The woman called out and smoke covered the room, when it cleared the invaders and the woman was gone.

“What the hell just happened?” Jax questioned as he and Stein de merged.

“I have an idea, I know those logo’s and trust me. It’s nothing good and if they have Barry, things could get a lot worse.” Harry ran his hands through his hair as he rested his gun on the nearby table.

“How much worse are we talking?” Oliver asked, the blonde woman’s words ringing in his mind still and hating that he wasn’t out there tracking Barry down.

“They are from Earth 53 also known as X, it’s closed off from the other earth’s because well… It’s basically a world under the rule of an iron fist of Meta powered people known as the Supreme Syndicate. If they… Convince Barry to use his Speedster powers, let them figure out how he and the Speed Force work together… They will invade and conquer all of the Earth’s one by one.” Harry explained as he crossed his arms, shuddering as he remembered the images he had seen from the rare photos of Earth X.

“And they have Barry.” Iris sank down into a chair looking pale and her hands shaking as Felicity and Caitlin hurried to her side.

“Not for long they won’t.” Oliver promised and it seemed to spur everyone in action. They would find Barry and bring him home.

Barry moaned softly as he slowly opened his eyes, his head fuzzy and his limbs heavy. Barry’s head was lifted up thanks to a strong hand on his neck and then a cup rim touched his lips making them part.

“There we go, slow sips.” A familiar voice rumbled and Barry gratefully drank the water, it helped clear his head and he found he could focus easier now.

“Oliver?” Barry asked confused at the sight of the red and black decorated room, it was unfamiliar but the sight of Oliver smiling down at him was something slightly more familiar.

“Where are we? What are you wearing? You’re not going back to the League of Assassins are you? It was not a good look for you.” Barry rambled as he took in the black and red outlined leather outfit Oliver was wearing.

“I’m not in the League of Assassins Barry.” Oliver sounded amused and fond. Barry squinted at Oliver, something was wrong here but Barry couldn’t seem to put his finger on it well until he literally put a finger on it. A weight was around his neck and his hands flew up to touch a metal collar before Oliver could stop him.

“What is this, Oliver why do I have a collar on?” Barry asked fear flashing in his eyes as he tried to run over to a mirror but he couldn’t and his fear turned into panic as he realized that it was a power damper collar.

“Oliver what on earth is happening?” Barry exclaimed as he bolted to his feet, well he tried but it appeared he had a cuff around his right ankle keeping him chained to the bed he had woke up on.

“…I’m not on my earth anymore am I?” Barry whispered as realization sunk in.

“You’re on Earth 53 or Earth X to be precise.” Kara’s voice rang out as she sauntered into the room; her outfit black and red just like Oliver’s.  

“Earth X? Why would you take me?” Barry asked trying to contain his panic and his worry about his family and Iris, oh god they were suppose to be getting married!

“We watched the other Barry’s on the other Earth’s but you, you Barry are the one who is the closest to our Barry, to what our Barry was. We needed that light back in our lives, we need you by our side like you once were.” Kara sat by Barry’s side, hand cupping his cheek and Barry swallowed hard conflicted at flinching back from her touch but this was Kara and the way she was looking at him made him feel wanted and happy.

“What happened to your Barry?” Barry whispered getting a bad feeling in his stomach.

“Our world started off the same way yours did, but we were all together on this Earth. We teamed up as Superhero’s to save the world, protected the weak and the innocent. We were an amazing team and then we were an amazing triad when we married each other.” Kara ran her fingers through Barry’s hair watching as Barry’s eyes widened and his cheeks turned pink at the news of the three of them having been married.

“We were happy, so happy.” Oliver whispered as he clenched his fists and turned his eyes downwards.

“What happened?” Barry whispered fighting back the urge to tug the two versions of his best friends in close for a comforting hug.

“The world we protected for so many years turned on us. When Barry needed their help they turned their back on him and let him die, they didn’t deserve to be protected after they let our husband die.” Kara hissed, her red painted lips turning into a sneer and Barry winced at hearing about his counterpart’s death and how easily it could happen to him on his Earth.

“So instead of helping them we decided on a different path. Together we created the SS, the Supreme Syndicate and we took the choice away from the people who turned their backs on our Barry. The weak don’t need protecting here because they are eliminated before they can cause us to lose anyone else we care about.” Oliver was up on his feet now and the curtains on the large window were drawn back and Barry’s breath caught in his throat.  

“Oh my god.” Barry whispered when he spotted the red skies and the giant banners that had giant ‘SS’ printed on them, showing that they had conquered their Earth, all because their Barry had been taken from them by the people they had been protecting.

“So you see Barry, we have taken over this world but that didn’t bring our Barry back so instead we decided to bring one here. You are so much like him, you both are a ray of sunshine and have so much faith and goodness in you.” Oliver settled on Barry’s other side, hand resting on the Speedster’s knee.

“So you kidnap me? I’m not your Barry and my friends, family and fiancé will find me.” Barry said confidently, he was at odds with himself he wanted to help heal this Kara and Oliver but he also really wanted to get home.

“Those weaklings? Doubtful, don’t worry Barry we’ll take good care of you.” Kara pressed a kiss to Barry’s cheek as Oliver injected him with the same drug as before. Barry made a strangled choking noise as the drugs pumped through his veins leaving him to slump against Kara. Kara stroked the brunet’s hair, cooing softly as Barry succumbed to the drugs and fell unconscious between the two superheroes turned super villain’s.

“We’ll take care of you Barry, better than anyone on your Earth ever could.” Kara promised as Oliver pressed his own kiss to Barry’s other cheek as the two curled around the unconscious Speedster on their bed.

Felicity deadpanned with Harry beside her on one of the Cortex monitors. She had glanced to all her friends. “The bottom line is that we have to catch these parallel-earth goose-steppers.” Everyone was well aware of her dislike towards Nazi’s. The things they had done on this earth to her ancestors and to people like her. Utterly Disgusting.  

“This might help,” Barry stepped in, holding up a blood-stained arrow.

“Is that a kryptonite arrow?” Kara’s sister, Alex, unfurled her arms as she gently took the lethal arrow away from him.

“Yup,” Barry responded with a sigh, hands at his hips while the others rounded together. He felt exhausted from chasing around Eobard while Kara and Oliver dealt with their doppelgangers. Years later and he still wasn’t fast enough to stop the yellow speedster.

“I know I shouldn't have to ask this question, but I have to ask this question.” Felicity interjected with quick words; worry seeded in her chest. “Oliver didn't shoot Kara, did he?”

“Sort of,” Barry replied, further clarifying with a face. The days just keep getting worse and worse with these parallel-dimension-hoppers. “The other Archer and flying woman are Oliver and Kara of Earth-X.”

“When you said that Earth-X was horrible,” Caitlin glanced back at Harry, who had raised a hand in mock defeat, “you might have undersold it.”

“Wait a minute. How- how could there be another Kara?” Alex was thoroughly confused; she was still new to the concept of parallel earths doppelgangers.

“Well, there are 53 Karas, just like there's 53 Kryptons and 53 Earths.” Harry explained simply.

“And the Thawne from our earth is working with them.” Barry gave a look, clearly annoyed at the fact that Thawne was back. Again. Thawne coming back due to time travel and the Speedforce were already giving him a headache just thinking about it all over again.

Caitlin just gave Barry an incredulous look. “He's an idiot.” Harry plainly stated.

Felicity already was thinking up of ways to track them down. “Ok, if that arrow has not-so-Supergirl's blood on it, we c—"

“We could track it using quantum analysis.” Harry cut her off, but she just nodded at his words.

“We could.”

“Harry, Cait, Iris,” Barry unfurled his arms and gestured to them with his head for a sidebar. The others were busy with Alex in isolating the city for Kara-X’s radioactive blood signatures. Felicity’s specialty. After all, she was able to track a deranged killer with just his face cream. “Whatever happens, (Y/N) can’t know Thawne’s here.” Both scientists gave odd looks to each other at the speedster’s words.

“Barry she’s going to find out one way or another, she’s part of this team too,” Iris voiced, side-glancing the door as if you’d step in at any moment.

“If he’s working with them, she has the right to know.” Caitlin added. “She should know what to expect.”

“Allen, unless you decide to lock her up in the pipeline until this is all over, she’ll find out.” Harry said. “You can’t possibly hide this from her forever.” The genius scientist hinted at the fact that when Barry had run back in time last year, Thawne had been the one to ‘fix’ things when really, he had altered the timeline. A timeline created to suits him and his plans. Even going as far to tell Barry that this was how the timeline was supposed to be before Thawne had caused the alteration when he had time-traveled back to kill Nora and escalated into what is now Team Flash. Three different timelines had been created, but this one, according to Thawne, is how the original one should have been. Just with a few… absences… Like Eddie and Ronnie. Barry had never mentioned any of this to you or the fact that Thawne had ended up escaping him that night. The scarlet speedster did not want you looking for the man in the yellow suit. But it seems that fate’s not on Barry’s side this time.

“Harry, I can’t have her chasing after him. Not with all this going on,” Barry protested. “One maniacal problem at a time.”

“Whether she does or doesn’t is up to her, Allen. You’re not a god.” Harry pursed his lips before heading to the side lab.

Barry ran his tongue over his lips tightly, frowning deeply at the echoed words. He didn’t need this right now. Those words stung the speedster, mainly with the aftermath of his time remnant – Savitar - claiming god-hood, wanting to alter everything and anything in his way to stay alive. Even to kill the love of his life. Jay Garrick told him that when he ran back to this timeline a year ago. ‘We’re not gods, Barry.’

How did Wells know about that? Maybe he didn’t. But it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that time-traveling powers shouldn’t be abused like that. Yet… Thawne always gets away with it. He gets away with barely a scratch. I can be one step ahead, but he’ll be 15 steps further.

Caitlin gave her friend a sympathetic look, exchanging one with Iris. Alex and Felicity were still present in the room, but too preocuppied with their blood sample. Barry’s intentions made sense, but it was your decision whether to chase after Thawne or not. It’s your choice on whether you’d even side with him for this battle.

You had stood right outside the Cortex in the corridor, your feet stopped when you heard Barry announce that “Thawne is working with them”. Your heart got caught in your chest. Eobard was here. He was back. But why in the hell would he ever work with Nazis? Nazis? Seriously Eo??? What the absolute fuck? You knew Eobard never had a tolerance for people like that. People like Eiling or Stagg, who would “poke fun” at those with disabilities, even if he had feigned his inability to walk in the end. People who would intentionally use their status to torture others. It just goes to show how people with that kind of caliber would think. So why this sudden change? Not ‘why now’. No, why at all?? How could he have stooped so low? That idiot. Unacceptable.

But what ached the most was Barry’s words. He doesn’t trust me… Even after all these years. Your heart shook and eyes narrowed as your eyes peered at the light being cast from the Cortex. You took in a breath. Taking a quiet step back, your feet carried you to one of the higher levels of STAR Labs- one of the tower levels. Your quiet place of refuge when this had gotten too much, whether it was because the shadows kept you safe from judgment or not, you didn’t know. If he wants to act like that, then two can play this game, Bartholomew Henry Allen. You looked out onto the city, subconscious scanning every light – every street. Lights winked in and out, the night progressing as the city remained unaware of the new monsters it currently hid. But what am I going to do?

Iris rubbed her eyes before taking a step closer to her almost-husband. “What’s going on in that head of yours?”

“I can’t have (Y/N) fighting with us. Not now. Not in this battle.” Not when he’s lurking around.

“Why?”

“You know why? Thawne’s out there. Running, scheming.”

“So, you don’t trust her.” It was more of a statement rather than a question.

“Iris, she knew what he did to my mom. Lied to us about it for months back then and still chose Thawne when we locked him up. What makes this time different?”

“Barry, while all those sound like good points, first and foremost she’s our friend.” The speedster just shook his head, Iris huffed, “Look, it’s been -what?- 3? 4 years? Since she’d last been with him? Things have changed. You think after everything we’ve been through; she’ll throw that all away?”

“Yes! Old feelings come back; they always do and she’s going to get her revenge.”

“How do you know that? How do you know that she wants revenge?”

“Thawne will coax it out of her. He’s good at manipulating a person’s feelings.”

“And what would she get in the end?”

Barry didn’t answer her, instead he wrung his hands together.

“Barr, if she had wanted revenge, she would have done so already after the incident. But she didn’t. (Y/N) was depressed after Thawne was erased. Vulnerable. The love of her life was gone, just like that. Don’t you remember? How she wanted to end it all, but we stopped her.” Barry’s eyes flickered to the ground, remember the sight he had seen. Drowning. You were purposefully drowning yourself in your tub. The way your looked back at him- lifeless- when he had gotten you back to your senses. The blood the dripped, your cold skin. The monitor beeping every so often in the Cortex. Iris’ own mind shifted to when she had seen the scars littered on your arms when Caitlin had fully examined you. Your dull hair and gaunt face, nothing like the brilliant fire that rang through you months prior to Eobard’s erasure. “We helped her work through it when we found out. Caitlin and I looked after (Y/N) every second of the day until she was ready to get back on her two feet. And then Zoom happened and he was breaking you. Breaking your bones and your spirit- when you broke your back, she was all-hands-on-deck to step in and help in your place while still dealing with her own issues.”

“I know, it’s just- something just tells me otherwise with Thawne here.”

“Barry-”

“-She’s going to choose him, Iris. Nothing will change that. To her, everything we’ve been through until this point won’t mean anything. Not when Thawne’s at the end of the tunnel waiting for her. She’s going to choose him and help him.”

“But what if she doesn’t? What then, Barr?”

Barry just shrugged. “I-I don’t know, but I can’t take any chances. Not this time.” I can’t hesitate with Thawne here. One misstep and that’ll be all he needs to make his move.

Iris reached out to her fiancé, gently caressing his cheek. She knew that he won’t change his mind, no matter the reasons she could come up with. Barry thought in absolutes when it comes to Thawne. And your past emotional ties with the evil speedster only further drove his current mistrust. “Come on, we have to help the others.”

You threw the ball against the concrete wall opposite to you, all your strength forced into it. The stress ball ricocheted back to where you sat. You caught it with ease, giving it a firm squeeze as your eyes shut.

“How could you betray us? We were your friends, your family!-”

“You are-”

“We stood by you!”

“I just-”

“-Just what!? He took everything from me!”

You cringed at the voice from years past. Breathe in, breathe out.

“You’re just as guilty as him. No wonder, like calls to like.”

“I-”

“I don’t want your excuses.”

Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in, breathe out. Swallowing harshly, you did your breathing exercises to push Barry’s cold voice away. You had stolen the malleable ball from Harry- or rather, he had allowed you to take it from him. It was an unused gift from the others for Harry to deal with his anger issues. Instead of throwing beakers and graduated cylinders off desks, the Earth-2 scientist can simply channel his anger into this stress ball… Which had been a hard pass for him. Rather he preferred his method of anger outbursts, even if he did end up hurting himself in the process. So you put it to use instead; a tool for simple meditation, as well as the redirecting your certain senses. It’s made of rubber polymer so your electrokinesis didn’t harm your new toy in any way.

Your eyes lingered back onto the city, your arm hanging over your bent leg while your other remained outstretched. No good in hiding up here forever, it’ll make things more suspicious. Not like Barry isn’t suspecting anything anyway. But you had needed time to think, to collect your thoughts and assess what actions you would take. You touched the necklace Eobard had made for you in rich gold- a Columba. It’s a constellation signifying the dove in astrology as he always called you his little birdy. But also, because gave him a sense of peace which the dove has generally symbolized fore. A finger ran over the one of the six diamonds that twinkled for the constellation, connected to each by a trail of gold. Eobard. Licking your lips, you got up, you pocketed your ball and brushed any dust particle from your leggings.

Upon entering the Cortex, a group of heroes left: Oliver, Kara, Barry, Sara, and so on. Barry had shoved past you, your eyes meeting briefly as you raised an eyebrow. His expression was guarded, but you said nothing.

“I’m guessing they’re going on a little midnight excursion?” You turned to Felicity and Iris with a thumb pointing in their direction. Mick was nowhere to be found so you can assume he’s already raided the lounge fridge. Caitlin had already prepped the med bay for incoming injuries, which isn’t an uncommon expectation, but wasn’t in the Cortex.

“Ding ding ding, you’re correct,” Felicity piped up, typing away at her computer screen. She was already hacking into cameras around the warehouse as the inside had ones out of commission. “The remaining Legends are to be on standby, should something happen during the warehouse fight. Per Sara’s orders.” At least Felicity isn’t treating you any differently, especially with how close she is to Barry. He probably told her to.

“And we’re going to be…?” You raised an eyebrow, a bit offended no one decided to volunteer you for the fight. You wanted to kick some Nazi ass too. Fry those fuckers. Guess Barry told them all to not trust me. Great, thanks Barr. Bitterness welled up inside but didn’t show it. Felicity and Iris aren’t the ones to be at odds with. Maybe it’s a good thing if Eo’s there. Barry would have his eyes all over your interaction with him.

“Just doing some monitoring and staying on comms. The usual Overwatch stuff,” Felicity smiled up at you then quickly turned to her tech. You could tell that her mind was wondering. About what? You had no clue and decided it’d be best to not involve yourself should things go sour if you did and Barry would find a reason to blame you.

No, this reunion needed to be on the downlow. One away from prying eyes. Your eyes drifted to Iris’ back in a subtle manner before pulling out your phone to check the time.

“Where’s Harry?” You asked, if anything he was one of the people who hadn’t seen you for just your past. Didn’t care for it as Zoom terror and Jesse’s rescue were more pressing matters. And you had seen him for more than a doppelganger to Eobard, even if their tendencies and bristliness seemed similar. Harry was Harry and Eobard was Eobard. Both were their own men, it wasn’t that hard to see and understand. He had done his own share of horrors and dark deeds for Jesse that Harry was dealing with his own darkness, while your demons haunted you. In an odd way, you both understood one another. Begrudgingly at first, though. Plus, you needed to return the stress ball back to him, thinking he’d need it now with Thawne around. If anything, you found it funny how Harry got mad when people would call Thawne a Wells. The Wells doppelganger would spectacularly blow up, which was always a site to see. Though you were hoping the two would never meet. You chewed on the inside of your cheek on how that interaction could possibly go. Would you-

“He’s probably back in his lab,” Iris spoke up from the other side of the Cortex, padding up to you. You nodded at her, mind drifting once more as you strolling to the Cortex exit. Harry could hold his own, but up against Eo, with all his speed… You’d choose-

“Hey,” Iris stopped you, snapping you out of your thoughts and placing a hand on your arm. You blinked. A small smile was woven on her face, one of those comforting smiles that said that you can come to her for anything… But could you?

“Hey,” you returned it, feigning any indication that you had overheard what Barry had said earlier. Schooling your features, you calmed your nerves. I’ve done this before. Pretended not to know. I can do it again. I can’t trust no one, and it seems like no one can trust me. I’ll be the actress again in this drama, spun by Barry this time.

“Can I talk to you for a moment?”

“Sure”

Iris was perceptive, she didn’t miss the slight strain in your voice. The guarded look that the young journalist had become accustomed to receiving when approaching you. There were times where she’d realize you were walking on eggshells with her. Because of Barry. Because of the serrated words he had thrown at you like knives all those times ago. But there were times where all was well with the world, the past forgotten and the strength of your friendship with the team more prominent than ever.  Then again, having Nazi’s return and who are hell bent on ruling this Earth by eradicating its heroes then move on to the next Earth in the multiverse does tend to throw tension into the air. Iris bit her lip. Especially if she doesn’t know about Thawne.

“(Y/N), look there’s… there’s something I need to tell you.”

“Sure, what’s up?”

“…”

“Iris, is something wrong? Are you ok?”

She noted sincerity on your face. “Thawne’s here.”

You pursed your lips, internally confused. “Iris-”

“And he’s fighting with the Earth-Xers.”

“I… what?!” Your rage was not false. Sure you knew about it earlier, but now it was necessary to unleash it. It’d make your surprise all the more legit.

“I needed you to know,” Iris swallowed.

“How?”

“When Barry, Oliver, and Kara intercepted their heist.”

“…” It was your turn to be silent. You knew, but you had to play a little longer until you could leave.

“I trust you, ok?”

“But” You knew there was a ‘but’. There always is one. Iris blinked, opening her mouth a few times then looking away before meeting your gaze once more.

“But I need to know you’re with us on this.”

Your eyes never left hers, your hand was held in both of hers. Before you could even respond an alarm had gone off. Both your necks snapped to Felicity, who snapped up from her sitting position.

“That was the corridor alarm.” Fear crippled its way in the air. “This is a setup.”

Kara was a little paranoid about where they were going which is why they decided against normal travel options. They didn’t know what they were getting into or if they would have to eventually forgo their vehicles to get to where they needed to go. Kara flew Lena and the device to the location while Barry carried Felicity while using his super speed. All four got to the location at the same time and were startled by what they saw. It was a dilapidated 10-story apartment building. The majority of the windows were either busted out or boarded up, weeds and ivy growing everywhere, paint was chipping everywhere and was discolored, and the stairs leading up alongside the building was hanging off the hinges. 

Kara frowned while shaking her head, “This can’t be right.”

Felicity shrugged her shoulders and said, “Maybe it looks this way to steer people away.”

“Maybe,” mused Kara. She used her X-ray vision to see what was inside. What she saw left her even more complex. “That’s strange,” muttered Kara.

Lena frowned and asked, “What is it?”

Kara shook her head and said, “I used my X-ray vision to see what was inside, and there is nothing. The entire apartment has been gutted out. There are only the four walls, a roof, and the front and back door. That’s it.”

Barry looked quizzically at Kara and said, “Wait. You mean there isn’t any rooms or floor levels at all?”

Kara shook her head and said, “No. It is just an empty shell.”

Barry said, “I can do a quick run inside to make sure there is really nothing in there.”

Kara nodded. Barry looked forward and speed through the building. He was gone several seconds before returning. He shook his head and was perplex. 

He turned to the others and said, “Kara’s right. There is nothing inside.”

Felicity turned to Kara and asked, “Is there anything about this building that that seemed significant to you? Maybe something that you parents thought that only you would notice?”

Kara shook her head and said, “There is nothing ringing a bell about this place.”

“I think I may have something,” mused Lena. 

The others turned around to see her rapidly scrolling on her phone. 

“Did you find something?” asked Kara hopefully. 

Lena looked up hesitantly and said, “I think so. I did a quick search on who the owners of the building are: Roz Le and Laura Zine.”

Kara chuckled softly. 

Lena looked up at her quizzically and asked, “What?”

Kara shook her head while chuckling softly. 

“If you rearrange the letters of those names, it would be Zor El and Alura In Ze. My parents’ names. My dad was very fond of anagrams.”

Felicity raised an eyebrow and asked, “So your parents have been to Earth before?”

Kara looked back at the apartment confused and said, “They must have. I am not sure why they wouldn’t have told me this before.”

Barry said, “Maybe they didn’t want to. I get the feeling that this was sort of a last resort option for them.”

Kara nodded while looking back down at the device. The green crystal was still glowing with the coordinates on it. She looked back up at the building with a look of determination. 

“I am going to go inside with the device to see if it does anything while in there.”

Kara took a couple of steps forward until the entire device started glowing soft yellow. The device then forced itself out of her hands and zoomed towards the front door of the apartment. She thought that the device would break through the door, but was surprised that it phased through. 

Felicity chuckled nervously and said, “Well, I didn’t see that coming.” 

“Neither did I,” murmured Lena. 

Barry rubbed the back of his neck and said, “Well, at least we definitely know that we are in the right place.”

Kara looked at the others hesitantly and said, “I know that things just got a little weird just now. I would understand if you wanted to wait here while I check it out.”

Lena rushed towards her, grabbed her hand and shouted, “No!”

Kara looked at her startled which caused Lena to look down blushing. 

“I didn’t mean to scream like that. I just wanted to say that this was a team effort and we wouldn’t abandon you in your hour of need.”

Barry nodded and said, “Lena’s right. We are with you until the end.”

Felicity fist pump her hand in the air and said, “Here, Here.”

Kara smiled and said, “Thanks, guys!”

She looked back at the apartment with more confidence and said, “Here’s to the unknown.”

They walked up to the apartment and walked through the door. All around them was darkness. 

Lena frowned and asked, “Barry, how were you able to run around and see anything in here earlier?”

“This is strange,” said Barry. 

“Please don’t say that,” muttered Felicity. 

“Well, it is. When I was in here, it wasn’t pitch black. Kara, can you see anything?” asked Barry.

“No, not even with my X-ray vision,” said Kara nervously. 

Suddenly a bright white light appeared which blinded them. As it gradually went down, the four began blinking rapidly to adjust their eyesight. Once they were able to see again, they were all shocked by what they saw. It looked like they were in a lobby for a fancy apartment building. On one side was a fancy staircase that led upstairs. On the other side was two elevators. In the center of the room seemed to be a service desk with what looks like a woman behind it. Kara felt tears streaming down her face. 

“Mom!” she screamed as she ran forward.

She wrapped her arms around the woman and squeezed really tight. 

“You don’t know how much I missed you,” sobbed Kara. 

The woman patted her on the head and said, “I am sorry to disappoint you Kara, but I am not your mother.”

Kara gradually took a step back and looked at the woman hesitantly. She looked exactly like her mother down to the clothing she would wear. 

Kara looked at her hesitantly and said, “I don’t understand.”
