Your Beauty Based On Your Nakshatras 🍒
*DISCLAIMER- This is my first observations post about the nakshatras so please bear with me! i know there is some discourse about these types of posts in the astrology community but oh well lol i just wanted to do something fun for my first time. i will make more in depth posts once i deepen my knowledge on it.
Tumblr media
Note: This is how I see the Nakshatras other people will see differently and that’s ok!
🥀 Venus Nakshatras (Purva Phalguni, Bharani, Purva Ashadha)
-They seem to have an air of mystery in my opinion. They have the girl next door kind of beauty, think of movies where the guy sees a girl at the airport or on a train and he doesn’t see her ever again but he keeps fantasizing about her. Venusians are the type to captivate someone within one glance. They are also sensual but in a subtle way, they don’t have to do too much to show that side of them because it’s not only based on how they look but the way they talk, walk, and their personality.
Ex. Jasmine Tookes (Purva Phalguni Moon), Adele (Bharani Sun), Alina Baraz (Purva Ashadha Moon)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
❤️‍🔥 Mars Nakshatras (Dhanishta, Chitra, Mrigashira)
-These people are just…SEXY! But honestly what can you expect when it comes to mars. In my opinion it seems like they can’t hide their sexiness it doesn’t matter what they wear or if they wear a lot of makeup or not they will always ooze sex appeal. They are the type to turn heads no matter what room they walk in because that’s how good they look, not only that they seem to have this confidence about them whether you see yourself that way or not others may definitely do! They are always topic of conversation.
Ex. Ana De Armas (Chitra Moon), Megan thee stallion (Dhanishta Sun), Jennifer Lawrence (Mrigashira Moon)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
🌙 Moon Nakshatras (Rohini, Hasta, Shravana)
- These women have the popular girl in movies type of beauty, they are usually peoples girl crush. I notice that their physical appearance is often talked about. They appear younger than what they actually are not just physically but their demeanor, personality, and spirit. They may get stared at a lot. I will also like to add that pictures does not do these nakshatras justice at all, they are so beautiful in person similar to the moon!
Ex. Ariana Grande (Hasta Moon), Normani (Rohini Sun), Nina Dobrev (Shravana Moon)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
✨Mercury Nakshatras (Ashlesha, Jyeshtha, Revati)
-They are so sultry in a dark feminine type of way. They also have RBF and can appear very intimidating. Many people might assume that mercurials are mean due to the way they look (imo they are pretty nice). They are the kind of girls that you want to talk to but they come off unapproachable so you just admire them from a far lol. I also notice they love playing with makeup looks especially their eye makeup!
Ex. Ryan Destiny (Revati Moon), Alexa Demie (Jyeshtha Sun), Megan Fox (Ashlesha Moon)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
🫀Ketu Nakshatras (Magha, Ashwini, Mula)
-Ketu Nakshatras have the dark feminine vibe but more in a melancholic kind of way. Their femininity is more darker than mercurials and often dress in black or darker colors in general. they also have a very unbothered look to them. I notice that these ketuvians can be complex and very misunderstood, you think that you have them figured out but there is WAY more to them than beyond surface level. They have a haunting type of beauty! The kind of women you never forget.
Ex. Kat Dennings (Magha Moon), India Eisley (Ashwini Moon), Amy Winehouse (Mula Moon)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
🌞 Sun Nakshatras (Uttara Ashada, Krittika, Uttara Phalguni)
-These hotties are bombshells. They have the ability to light up any room. They also have such a radiant aura as well. They are the "hard to get" hot girl that everyone pines over! They are usually center of attention no matter where they go. I notice that they are charismatic as well and that’s what honestly reels people in the most! In my opinion, they remind me so much of a trophy wife. Their partners love being able to tell people that you guys are married/dating.
Ex. Madelyn Cline (Uttara Phalguni ASC & Moon), Eliza Dushku (Krittika ASC), Naomi Campbell (Uttara Ashada ASC)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
⚡️Rahu Nakshatras (Ardra, Swati, Shatabhisha)
-Have you heard of the quote from Scarface “The eyes, Chico. They never lie.”? Well that’s basically these nakshatras. Their eyes can tell stories and they can communicate to others very well with them. Often times they can look pretty sad even when they aren’t. Rahuvians look so dreamy, I can’t explain it, they look so soft but intense at the same time! Honestly, they are the type of girls people write about. Absolutely captivating!
Ex. Brittany Murphy (Swati Moon), Kaya Scodelario (Ardra Moon), Audrey Hepburn (Shatabhisha Moon)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
🛸 Saturn Nakshatras (Pushya, Anuradha, Uttara Bhadrapada)
-Otherworldly beauty! If you go outside you won’t see many people that look like them, their beauty cannot be replicated ever and trust me they will try to! These nakshatras were blessed with alluring and unique features. Saturnians look like they came right out of a fantasy film with different beautiful creations that are not of this world. They will also kill it in modeling especially editorial/high fashion they have the type of beauty that the modeling industry goes for.
Ex. Yara Shahidi (Anuradha ASC), Angelina Jolie (Pushya ASC), Halle Bailey (Uttara Bhadrapada Sun)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
💋 Jupiter Nakshatras (Punarvasu, Vishakha, Purva Bhadrapada)
-These Nakshatras are MANEATERS! no but seriously they are so seductive! They can give office siren as well. I truly believe they can make anyone get down on their knees for them. Their aura to me is pretty powerful they know exactly how to act to get people (men especially) at their beck and call. I also notice that people lust after them quite often, they could easily use that for their personal gain if they wanted to.
Ex. Penelope Cruz (Punarvasu Moon), Lily Rose Depp (Vishakha ASC), Madison Beer (Purva Bhadrapada Sun)

Earlier this month, Fabian Schmidt, a German national and a US permanent resident, was released after two months in ICE detention.
Schmidt, who has lived in the US since 2007, was detained by ICE at Boston’s Logan Airport, apparently because of a dismissed misdemeanor marijuana offense. Schmidt’s family says he was “violently interrogated” at Logan. He was reportedly forced to remove his clothes, given a cold shower, denied access to anxiety medication, and kept awake until he collapsed and had to be taken to the hospital.
ICE overreach, violence, and lawlessness is not surprising. But the target of that violence and lawlessness in this case, and in other similar ones, may be a little unexpected. Schmidt is white. So are many others who have run afoul of Trump’s new immigration regime. As Ryan Cooper, the managing of the American Prospect, pointed out, “I did not anticipate ICE goons going after the whitest possible immigrants with American families, jobs, and in good standing legally.”
Cooper’s confusion is understandable. During his latest campaign, President Donald Trump made a point of signaling out non-white immigrants for demonization. He especially targeted Haitian immigrants in Ohio for vile racist slurs. He’s used racist smears against Mexican immigrants since his first campaign in 2016. And of course, Trump this month welcomed white South African immigrants who he falsely claims are refugees from anti-white violence. In a televised meeting with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Trump trumpeted disgusting racist conspiracy theories to justify his policies.
Trump’s anti-immigrant stance is clearly tied to his white supremacy. And yet, ICE is seizing and according to many reports torturing and mistreating numerous white immigrants — including Jasmine Mooney, a Canadian woman stopped at a border crossing in Canada, chained, and held in detention for 12 days, and Kasper Eriksen, a Danish permanent resident with no criminal record seized on April 15 and held in a Louisiana detention facility ever since.
This is not a mistake or a confusion on Trump’s part. Rather, Trump’s project, in part, is to redefine and narrow the boundaries of whiteness. Recognizing that can help us to understand Trump’s tactics and exploit his weaknesses.

!!FASTPASS SPOILER CHAPTER 85!!
So we're learning quite a lot about the cranes in these last few chapters. @hozaloza is probably overjoyed lol, especially with that post about Ryan and Jasmine being exes. This chapter really gave the crazy ex vibes, she knows him wayyy too well and she looks like she would lick the blood off knives if she could lol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She was so sinister in like half her appearances, though she always seemed so happy-go-lucky around Maverick. The chibi panel of her and Ryan was cute though.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And Ryan lmaoo, he spent half this chapter being dissed and an anxious mess it was so funny. Alex did him so dirty with that description. I love that he's sticking his neck out to help the kids despite everything. He and Charlie are like different brands of pathetic wet cats lol. I love them
Tumblr media
Charlie's confirmed to be part of the cult and apparently he was imprisoned as punishment? Which is so weird tbh but does that mean the information he gave the parents is fake? Is he pretending to betray the Cranes to spy on the kids and their parents? I'm so curious about this man ugh.
Anyways, can't wait for next week!

School Bus Graveyard Fanfiction Recommendations!!!
Okay so there are SO MANY good fanfics within this fandom we have truly been BLESSED by some talented writers! So, if I miss any out that you feel deserve a mention/want to self promote, feel free to add a comment/repost to add to my list!!! The more the merrier! Also, fellow authors who I have recommended, let me know if you see this and have a tumblr you would like me to @! (I will probably do a part 2 of this because there is just THAT MUCH good out there)
First I'm going to do some self promotion myself...
https://archiveofourown.org/works/62451622/chapters/159821806
Banana Split, 60K+ words, incomplete.
This is set post season 2 and focuses primarily the duos we left of with (...and includes some of them interacting with the other pairs I wont say how tho...) with some side focus on characters like Ryan, Jasmine and, as of recent, the parents/Lily. I have a few OCs added in there however they are minor characters. I have my own lore regarding the "clones" we see in the season finale, Logans family and so much more!!!
(It has been so fun to write this fanfiction and I can't express how happy I am with the supply I have gained so THANKYOU!!!)
https://archiveofourown.org/works/64489975/chapters/165603121
Twists And Turns, 12K+ words, incomplete.
This is basically a "what if" fic I wrote about an AU where Charlie (and Ryan) got out with the kids. I have tried to stick to Charlie's POV however I've ended up delving off into others POVs (Aiden, Ashlyn etc).
https://archiveofourown.org/works/64776157/chapters/166451539
Vera Stone, 3K+ words, incomplete.
Another "what if" fanfic which focuses on Vera Stone, an OC of mine, and delves into her relationship with group, how she affects her dynamic etc. She had her own lore, however I also have taken this chance to expand upon side characters lore, open new storylines and write scenes that Red didn't include in the webtoon. It's a rewrite of this fanfic:
https://archiveofourown.org/works/60070603/chapters/154633063 (13K+ words, abandoned)
Okay now onto some fanfictions I have read and have REALLY enjoyed! (In no particular order)
https://archiveofourown.org/works/62718334/chapters/160560073
Underneath the Scarlet Skies, 103K+ words, unfinished.
Another "what if" fanfic based on the zombie apocalypse like scenario of everyone (like EVERYONE) getting shifted to the Phantom Realm. It's based off The Walking Dead and includes some vague references. Brilliant writing, especially when it comes to Aidens relationship with his parents (his mother in particular) and the gangs dynamic. It had a series of side stories that you can also read, which is just as good:
https://archiveofourown.org/works/63332935/chapters/162248446 (2 chapters, unfinished)
https://archiveofourown.org/works/61754659/chapters/157873156
Not All Change is Bad, 9K+ words, unfinished. @pinkbirddiaries
Admittedly I haven't read this one in full yet however from what I have seen it's AMAZING! It's a mermaid/summer camp AU (with Mr Thomas and Jasmine acting as a camp councillor, which is amazing).
https://archiveofourown.org/works/64884724/chapters/166771669
What it takes to fight fate, 2K+ words, unfinished.
The same author as above also has this SBG OC fanfic which is HELLA interesting! It's on their profile if you wanna read it, I definitely recommend it. It plays around with time travel and memories!
https://archiveofourown.org/works/64766245/chapters/166424209
The Phantom Games, 16K+ words, unfinished. @astro-can
Amazing Hunger Games AU! Based of Catching Fire. Victor Ashlyn Banner is sent into the games for a second time... includes our main gang as Victor's, alongside OCs (mine included, thanks again!!!) , Maverick as this AUs Plutarch and a brewing rebellion.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/63697894/chapters/163294051
Adrenaline Junkie, 16K words, finished.
Aiden centric! Focuses on Aidens life on the lead up to the jeep mission. Includes conflict with the group and some BRILLIANT Clark cousin content. Truly amazing stuff (...and there may be a part 2/prequal coming.)
https://archiveofourown.org/works/62434777/chapters/159774217
If We Remained United: The Long Road to New York, 35K+ words, unfinished @carnivalconflict
This is set after season 2 in an AU where the gang remains united. Includes a military base, planes, a training arc and a brilliant execution of the groups dynamic with some equally good characterisation and minor OCs!

Note
this is random sorry but i saw your username earlier and immediately giggled at the reference (i love mother mother!)
what do you think of the new album?? i’ve been listening to it practically nonstop since it came out
hi!! my user is my fav lyric from my fav song from my fav album by my fav music artist! Eureka is so peak i adore calm me down so much. I LOVEEEE mother mother and I'm so glad you asked because I have been dying ever since listening to this album for the first time. Be warned. I'm going to YAP. This is over 3000 words long I think I have too much freetime
First of all love to death?? GOD IT WAS SO GOOD. Mollys voice with jasmine vocals in the background are fucking ethereal. Also Ryan absolutely cooked with the lyrics on this entire album but "you love enough and you love to death it is a razor blade... it is a real like taker" SHIT DUDE I CRIED. Circling back to mollys voice the "love enough and you start to bleed LOVE STAINS AND IT DONT COME CLEAN" I'm dead
Make believe was sooooo good omg omg. I had a phase for YEARS where I was obsessed with unicorns so seeing the album cover and so many references to the myths about them was incredible. And the Angel line??? "I believe in the angels above because they haven't let me down yet" OH MY GOD. Don't even get me started on the Greek gods reference I am insane. The change between the chorus and other lyrics is so daunting. The chorus is fast paced and rushed and almost crazed and the other lyrics are similar but Ryan sounds out of breath and honestly I just get the visual of some rocking back and forth in a padded room with this song it's GREATTT
Station wagons instrumentals were sick. I love the hints to the station wagon being a safe haven of sorts?? Or like the running away either your lover, riding off into the sunset type of thing. Talking about dying early or going missing. Never being found. "Dark is the road that only goes so far from home, and cruel is the car that just stays parked" WHAT IF I SCREAMED
ON AND ON is my favorite!! Mother mother is sooo good at making love songs and putting the whole devotion and unhealthy attachment thing into romance that I so dearly love. "You're my best friend. I'd have your kid. I'd kill for you" STOP "I love your teeth. I love your laugh. It could cure disease" and then them begging someone to stop them from talking ?? Because they have so much to say about how they love you??? I'm literally on the floor. "The world is sick, how did you get in? You are not like it. You're like the opposite of sin" slowly adds to my "best songs ever" playlist. "You show your heart to any and everyone" OH MY GOD YES YESBUES "it's made of pure love" WHEN I TELL YOU MY JAW DROPPED. Pure love?? Like from the inside album??? That's one of my fav songs it's so fucking good. The amount of references to past songs in the album kill me istg. "I wanna play guitar for this girl" grusjsjfuwhw "we fell in deep. I fell from grace. You forgave me" mother mother religious subtext is one of my favorite things about the band. I adore using religion as a metaphor for love and Ryan's lyrics capture it perfectly. I love every single song with these type of lines in them especially if it's a Molly song because her voice is just a biblically accurate angel to me. It's a drug. It's tunnel vision. I love her. "And helped me find my new apartment" THE YEARNING
Better of me is my 2nd favorite. it's like having a twin, someone identical to you, a best friend who's so similar, family in every way but blood, the love of your life in even more ways. But they're so much better than you. ripping my hair out. "I'm sorry I pushed you away. I guess I just wanted to play. I miss you, the better of me" or it's like knowing you love someone but not knowing how to show it not knowing what to do with the love and then you fuck it all up because of that. And then you miss them. Fuck. "I'm sorry I smoked you out. In vodka you almost drowned. I'd kill you, the better of  me" love the drinking/addiction references we get in albums. it's such a fun way to explore romance dynamics and how love can be almost addicting. And the "id kill you"?? The hate, the envy, the fear. You love them more than anything, but second place is only so fun for long. "No wonder you skipped out of town, for I was just burning shit down. Oh how I love to burn shit down" wondering why someone left and then coming to the realization that you caused the downfall, that you were the problem???? Knowing you won't stop because you're too selfish and destructive??? "I'm sorry I ate all the cake, the followed by starving for days. I'll feed you, the better of–" first of all the change in note when Jasmin sings "starving" is divine. Again it talks about being selfish and keeping things from a lover, but then it changes to manipulation and lying. And THEN it's trying frantically to fix what you destroyed. "I'm sorry I spit in your face, but you could get used to the taste. Come kiss me, the better of me" BEST LINE IN THIS SONG. the anger, the frustration. The fighting and banter. Telling someone it's not that bad, that they're overreacting, it's a misunderstanding. To get over it. And then making up and pretending to love for the pure fact that you will fight and fight and fight and fight and. "I see that you've told all your friends. Their (the? The lyrics are hard to hear here)  virtues won't give me an inch" just start digging my grave I'm literally dying. "They know I'd take a mile of sin. I'm a sinner, sinner, sinner" the self awareness at this part is so important. Because yes YOU ARE A SINNER. And it's repeated over and over again because who's gonna forget now? Show your true colors and it's the color you're stuck with forever. No more hiding. No more lies. "But I'm in a better place, except for a thousand mistakes" never mind we're back to lying. changing even after promising not to be like that ever again?? promising you're fine, that you're healing, but even those are lies too?? "I need you, the better of–" wanting, yearning, waiting, wishing, praying. Doing all these things because you NEED them you need to breathe them in like air, need to taste them like food, need to drink in their presence like water. "I love you, the better of–" DOING ALL THESE THINGS BECAUSE YOU LOVE THEM MORE THAN THE WORLD RJAHJDW "I hate you, the better of me" but it was all worth nothing in the end? Because you two are so similar, it causes any and all romance to bleed out and pool around you by like wildfire?? Fucking adore this song. Also, the little circus (?) kind of instrumentals at the beginning and end of this song are so brain numbing I love it
Namaste is as comforting as it is devastating. Mother mother has a countless number of songs about grief, sadness, and mental health and I love that they never stop with them. This song is people trying to help. Being given therapy and pills and sleep and comfort and still not getting better. "I've tried to reach that place, but I just stay" trying to heal but never getting there. And people saying "you've got to break yourself away" and the response being "which I can't do. Instead I suffer through. Oh yeah I suffer through the day" because it's not getting better?? Why isn't it getting better?? You're doing everything right and nothing helps????
Mother mother has many weird and disturbing lyrics and honestly I love that about them but I was a little iffy about FINGER when I first listened to it. Now I love my fair share of freaky songs buttttt. Over time, over a thousands listens, I've really come to like the song. It's a great message; not caring about what others think and not feeling ashamed for being human. I watched the music video yesterday and it was great. I love mother mother keeping the eerie and disgusting vibe after all these years. It reminded me a lot of the body of years music video. The part where they start singing "roo-coo-coo-coo-coo" scratches an itch on my brain. I love the noises. "It's funny how a man can just fuck fuck fuck but if a woman gets fuck you wind up calling her a slut?" OH SPEAK YOUR TRUTH 🗣️🗣️ "you gotta laugh because it hurts to much to cry" coming back with the mental health stuff and faking being healed
Me & You is probably my 3rd favorite. "How bout you wanna be my baby... I'll take care of you, you take of me too" making a deal just so you can love and be loved. Then calling the world crazy and playing it off and "maybe one against the world just ain't as fun as if it's two" that was smooth ngl. Pick up lines. "And we could make an army of babies" was I the only one reminded of babies from the mother ep?? "They could run around like little monkeys in a zoo" that reminded me of lets fall in the love the "the funny little monkeys in the zoo did it" line from that song?? I love the references!!! "And when we get so old and gray and lazy," again, making a deal basically just so you can die with the "husband, wife, mother, father, daughter, son" on your headstone. "Our little babies, they could come around and take care of me and you" a wish that will never come true. It's like waiting for hand to hold yours so you don't have to cross the street by yourself but the cars won't ever stop anyways so why even try.
little mistake was such a good song.  "Down in a deep sleep, this is where you'll find me. Hiding from everything" depression in a song. I love the depiction of it. It's accurate and ruthless and cold hearted but so emotional and loving but in the worst way. "All of the mistakes, every little big thing. They can take a small sin and making a whole lot of pain" guilt eating at you. Staying up at night overthinking. Knowing, knowing, knowing that you can't change what you did but wishing over and over that you could. "I could be a nova, you could aurora. We could be a cluster, a little pocket of art in the night sky" HELLO?? Seriously Ryan guldemond is one of the best lyricist of all time I need more people to understand this. "Without all the life-like dislike" because people are the worst guilt ever. What you said, what you did, it only hurts because it was to another human. Straying away from the public, from a community of people is the only way to reach a life with no guilt. "Happy little baby making all the ladies squeal. But even little toddlers they be the cause of real, real pain" the pause after real pain is so sad. It's full of my sobs. Taking something that should be happy and healthy and rotting it down to pure agony. "Silly little monster come in here to scare our love again, but I won't let him harm you. I won't let him cause you're real" REAL PAIN. Because even love, even the light of your life causes pain?? "It was a little mistake, and now you're slipping away" I don't even have words to describe how agonizing this line is. and the "I'm sorry" at the end???
Mano a Mano is so funny and i am so excited to play this album for my mom soon (at least SOME of the songs.. not sure I can play FINGER) because I know she's gonna love this one. I love songs that call men out on their stupidly. This whole song is about masculinity and how it was carved to be bloody fists and loud booming voices and how the singe is just floating, an edge of the world, not even caring about these men and then it changed to being full of violence and not doing anything else. "Help me help you understand; I am not a real man" the transmascs (me) are gonna go wild for this song. Added to my trans pride playlist instantly. "I am the mistress of a gun" CAN WE TALK ABOUT THIS LINE??? HELLOOO?? That's so sick. "I get it in bed before it kills someone" HAVING YO TAME VIOLENCE WITH LOVE BECAUSE THERE IS NO OTHER OPTION. "But if you fuck with my family, you'll see the lover inside me leave" it's giving Family from no culture and I LOVEEEE itttt "I've got a bull ballistic baby. he get a little sadistic, a little crazy" a warning "help me help you understand; he is not a real man. He is a delinquent in the street running his mouth off unable to speak of a simple feeling" because that's what masculinity has been molded to be. As I said before, bloody knuckles and knocked out teeth and yelling louder and louder until somebodies voice it so hoarse it's a banshee. And the reference to the way men don't speak about feelings. It's a tiresome chore to get men to open up, and we have modern culture to thank for that. "We live in a jungle, a bloody jungle" all I'm thinking about right now is lord of the flies and how realistic it is to the world nowadays "you're not the violent type, well, to you Godspeed" oh. My. God. "Somebody help me to understand just what is a real man??" FUCK "is it an infant with a stick out picking a fight with the quieter kids?" BECAUSE THE WORLD IS VIOLENCE AND SILENCE IS WEAKNESS "I have come to understand just what is a real man. He is the mama of war, he sing it to sleep before it can deploy. He's pinching the cheek of a little destroyer. He's rocking grenades in a cradle. A sedater" I love love love these lines because war really is just the fussy child of humans. We have to cradle and rock it before it takes over or explodes or brings death
When the song is the title of the album you know it's gonna be good. "Why can't I put in a bottle with the summer and a little bit of trouble?" I love the input of summer because the summer season really is such a great few months to make memories and most people connect summers to better memories than others. It's a Polaroid that's faded but you have it memorized down to every scratch and line so it makes no difference. "Why can't I crawl into that photo and that body? I was skinny, almost sickly" YESSSS. I live when Ryan puts in lines about body image and being underweight. The line from head shrink form grief chapter "its in the food I eat to puke" was one of my favs from the last album and I love to see more of it in this album. The chorus is amazing "I could fly down the highway of the past. I wanna crash back... into you" memories being one of the main points of this album is so satisfying. It's really a close to the end and it's the feeling of sinking into a mattress and closing your eyes and drifting off to sleep. The want to go back, go back to times and places and people. "Nostalgia, how I love you, how I hate you." Because memories suck but they're the only thing to cling onto "nostalgia, you're a traitor" did you hear that loud crash? Yeah. That was me "it was perfect then, but now it's heartbreaking" circling back to the depression point earlier. It's so good. "Why can't I put in a vial in a needle? I would shoot it in my eye so I could see" I'm interpreting this as using drugs to stay in memories to keep certain things locked up. Using unhealthy coping mechanisms and whatnot "nostalgia, you're a scoundrel you even stole the scent of a candle" because memories come and go and you can't cling onto them forever like you thought you could. And that smell, that scent that used to remind you to home will never remind you of anything again. "Nostalgia, you're a hoarder. You even stole the chord, the minor four" because music is memory. "Nostalgia, what would we do without you?" incoherent sobbing
And last but definitely not least, To Regret. I joke a lot about songs and stuff making me cry but this song actually had me tearing up. Mollys voice is so young and eerie at times. I love that she sings the really aware songs, like the ones that you know what you've done you know what's wrong but you refuse to fix it type of songs. When the piano starts playing and she starts singing, I KNOW it's about to be the saddest song I've ever listened to. "So I go back, back in time" bringing back the thing of memories from this album and the song Nostalgia. "And I lose my shine to regret" losing the sparkle in your eyes, the happiness in your lungs to regret. "So, I go back to what I said. And I lose my pride to regret" GUILT 🗣️🗣️🗣️ WE HAVE THE GUILT 🗣️ "I lose so much time to regret" oh god. Realest song ever "everyone says "no regrets" but who would I be with no regrets?" Having your identity surrounding the past and the guilt and the wrongs you made is so heartbreaking "I wouldn't be me without regrets" it's so difficult to determine whether it's a bad thing or not. You should always be careful about what you do and what you say. Don't be unkind. Don't be demeaning. But don't make so many rules for yourself that everything you say is bad everything you do is bad you can't do any good with all this regret. "So, I give my thanks to regret" What a way to end a song.
My ranking of the songs:
ON AND ON
Better of Me
Me & You
To Regret
Make Believe
Station Wagon
Nostalgia
Love to Death
little mistake
Mano a Mano
FINGER
Namaste
I haven't watched the ON AND ON music video or the trailer yet but the FINGER music video was delightful. It wasn't a good choice to watch it in public though I will say that.
I think the order of pre-released songs as teasers was great. Make believe was a wonderful introduction to the album. Love to Death really caught your eyes (and ears) and sank into your heart. FINGER was the layout and the one to drive away people and then capture them even more.
This was such a great album. I want the vinyl so bad but I am getting a t-shirt with the album covers unicorn on it so I grateful for that. I apologize for the literal essay I just typed. In my defense mother mother is like the main thing that my brain is occupied on at all times.

Noah Berlatsky at Public Notice:
Whiteness is a social construct
Most progressives and Democrats understand that race is not a biological reality. It’s a way to categorize and arrange people to the benefit of some and the detriment of others, generally in the name of and to increase the power of established hierarchies. Since there’s no biological, genetic, or scientific basis for “race,” racial categories and classifications are by necessity arbitrary. There are some Black people who have lighter skin than some white people. Researchers just discovered that Pope Leo XIV had Black ancestors. Does that mean he’s Black? There’s no one right answer, because whiteness and race are determined by social norms and contexts. In some places and some times, Leo might be Black; in others he’d be white, in others he might be considered Creole or mixed. Right now, it’s probably closest to the truth to just say it’s ambiguous. In short, racial identities can, and do, change over time. Light-skinned Jewish people in Nazi Germany were considered non-white racial others who were banned from marrying “Aryans,” among many other discriminatory policies, ultimately culminating in genocide. In the US, by contrast, light-skinned Jewish people have generally been viewed as white, especially in the last 50 years. Similarly, the Irish in Britain and 19th century America were often depicted in illustrations and cartoons as bestial and ape-like — caricatures also used to target Black people and present them as subhuman. Over time (in part by aligning themselves with the white majority against Black people) the Irish ceased to be seen as racial others by white people. Which is to say, they became white.
[...] Just as certain groups can become white over time, it is possible for certain groups to lose their purchase on whiteness. Arab Americans were largely viewed as white ethnics for much of the 20th century. But as the US became more deeply involved in Middle East and Israeli politics, and especially following 9/11, anti-Muslim sentiment spiked, and Arab Americans — especially Palestinian Americans — increasingly became viewed as racial others. These examples help to underline what a heterogenous, confused concept whiteness is. Being white is about skin color but also about ancestry but also about religion but also about national background. Whiteness is incoherent, ad hoc, and messy. [...] It's no accident that Trump’s assault on birthright citizenship is both an attack on Black rights and on immigrants. Birthright citizenship was passed in 1868 as part of the 14th Amendment to establish all people born in the United States as citizens — effectively and deliberately granting citizenship to Black people. The amendment has since become a bedrock of immigration policy — no matter who you are or where you come from, no matter whether your parents are documented or legal residents or citizens, if you are born in the US you are a citizen. This is anathema to Trump, who believes America is only for citizens who are white people and white people who are citizens. He deliberately and obsessively conflates those categories. That is, in part, because he sees non-white people as non-citizens. (For instance, he told a group of non-white members of Congress to “go back where you came from.”) It’s also why he sees non-citizens as not really white. When Trump targets people like Fabian Schmidt and Kasper Eriksen, you could say that he is embracing bigotry against white people. But you could also say that for Trump, even light skinned European immigrants aren’t really white — or at least, they’re not as white as (racist) white people from South Africa.
Even whiteness won’t save you from the ICE Gestapo under the Trump Regime.

Books by Black Authors for Black History Month!
I wanted to share a list of books I love and books that I'm looking forward to reading that are by Black authors in acknowledgement of Black History Month. I feel like a lot of my fellow readers (especially my fellow white readers) always go into a, kind of, reading slump in February and I don't know if that's because the month of January is just ten years long that February feels like a hangover or if it's because they feel the desire to read books by Black authors but then the majority of what is marketed is usually books that are steeped in trauma or nonfiction books. And, like, yeah, nonfiction books are so important but when they're the only kind of book marketed it can make finding the other kinds of books that much harder but I believe that if you read the fun books and the happy books and the fantasy books it will make you want to seek out the nonfiction resources. I'm blabbering so long story short, I thought I would make a little list to do some of the legwork for my fellow readers to find stories that they can check out.
I used GoodReads links (and one StoryGraph) link, you can choose who to purchase from yourself (although I will suggest BookShop.org as your purchase does go towards indie bookstores, I also really like the Libby App which is just your library and it works with your Kindle/Nook/Kobo/iPad). All authors that I have included in this are American or have strong ties to the USA which is why I did not include authors such as Bolu Babalola, Talia Hibbert, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie but I do highly recommend checking them out if you haven't because they do write gorgeously.
Kennedy Ryan has an extensive backlog and beautiful writing, beautiful prose. She had a book called Before I Let Go (Skyland #1) come out in November 2022, it is a second chance romance between a married couple. It has been on my shelf forever, the cover is beautiful and I've heard nothing but truthfully incredible things. I have listened to snippets of the audiobook but keep putting off getting the actual audiobook because Kennedy is the kind of author I want to read the grammar, syntax, wording of everything from. This book actually got optioned to be adapted into a television show and there's a second Skyland book coming out in March called This Could Be Us that has the ARC readers going wild.
Jasmine Guillory is one of my favorite authors. She is a Bay Area native and has a law degree from Stanford. Not only do I think that she writes beautifully but I cannot even describe to you the way that I kick my little feet and twirl my hair. I feel like my favorite of hers changes. Up until a few weeks ago, I would've told you that Olivia Monroe in Party of Two was my favorite Jasmine girly but I listened to Royal Holiday to kick off my reading for January and Vivian Forest is such a beautiful character. She's a 56 year old Black woman who is a veteran social worker who thinks it's too late for her on several fronts and then she gets swept off her feet while on a vacation with her daughter AND THE ROYAL FAMILY. What?! I also think that Jasmine writes, like.... character appropriate sex scenes if that makes sense. Like, Vivian's scenes are more reserved than Olivia's were, Vivian's more closed door than Olivia's were. She also has a Beauty and the Beast inspired book called By The Book and I kept texting my friend the entire way through and then made her buy a copy so she could text me right back with all her thoughts. Amazing. I love her.
You want cozy fantasy romance with monsters and happy Black women being loved by their hot monster lovers? Kimberly Lemming has GOT YOU COVERED.
Plugging my new author friend P.J. Leigh and her book Olawu. She actually responded to my request for some indie author recs on Threads and sent me a copy of Olawu that will be here on Friday and I'm so excited. She describes it as: "Set in precolonial East Africa with romance, action, sisterhood, found family, and a feisty but flawed female lead." I cannot wait to dig into this one.
Another author who messaged me is indie author Quiana Glide. Her bio is that she is an unabashed fangirl and her books feature pregnancy trope, cosplay, professional wrestlers and cafe owners solving murders. Her books sound fucking great and they are available on Kindle Unlimited for my KU girlies (gender neutral).
Celestine Martin messaged me as well and she writes paranormal romance with Black witches, emo mermen and fae princes. I tripped over myself running to my Libby app to place a hold on the audiobook.
25 to Love! by Joye Johnson is another one available on Kindle Unlimited for my KU girlies (gender neutral). The synopsis is: "TV's hottest dating show is '25 to Love!'. To nab a guy from her past, Lola signs on as the token girl of color. All's fair in love and ratings--can a week on TV get Lola closer to the one that got away?" You know what I love? Second chance romances, besties, that's right.
Splinter by Jasper Hyde was another I was recommended. Jasper writes paranormal, LGBTQ+ books. Jasper Hyde is a pen name for Georgina Kiersten who also goes by Rian Fox. The pen name denotes the subgenre that they write. Georgina does go by they/them pronouns and writes plus sized rep and neurodivergent rep too.
Kelly Cain. That's it. That's the tweet. THE EVERHEART BROTHERS SERIES????? If you know anything about me, you know that I have a hearing issue and so I've used audiobooks before but I never really clicked with them or got the hype. Turns out I had boring ass narrators (look I did the audio version of a lot of nonfiction books I had to read about old dead white guys in college so of course I had that feeling). THE EVERHEART BROTHERS AUDIOBOOKS ARE WHAT CHANGED ME. Deanna Anthony, the narrator, is so engaging and I didn't feel like I was listening to an audiobook, I felt like I was sitting across the table at brunch having a gossip session with my bestie. If you read it and you didn't like it, that's fine, but I didn't lie to you and enjoyment of art is subjective but also you're wrong and argue with a wall.
I've been seeing a lot of talk lately about Pride & Protest by Nikki Payne. This is a Pride & Prejudice and one of the reviews says, "If you ever wanted P&P to feel more like watching a swoony, steamy episode of Insecure, this is the book for you."
Currently, I am reading You Made a Fool of Death With Your Beauty by Akwaeke Emezi. It deals with themes of grief and romance and also bisexual representation. Absolutely beautiful prose. Akwaeke is Nigerian and has been in the USA since college. They are non-binary and go by they/them pronouns.
I also cannot end this list without mentioning Memphis by Tara M. Stringfellow. This follows three generations of a southern Black family in the neighborhood of Douglass in Memphis, TN (I was born a couple miles away in Raleigh) . Now, this book does have quite a few trigger warnings that I won't put here but I do encourage you to READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS before you purchase this book as it does deal with some pretty heavy subject matter.
I'm also going to end this by saying to keep an eye out for anything done by my best friend, the person who I have shared so many amazing, beautiful, life changing experiences with ALL OVER THE WORLD for the last fourteen years: Isana Skeete (Isana does not use pronouns). If you look at the GoodReads account for Isana that I linked, you'll see lists made with recommendations of books with queer POC rep and asexuality representation.

Opinions on the cranes? And opinion on RosePunch (Ryan x Alex)
i find the cranes interesting. i like how mysterious they’re portrayed in the webtoon but i really hope we get more explanations and closure on who’s the real villain. it’s more obviously the cranes but their manipulation tactics towards the kids really make you question. it’s interesting to watch and i can’t wait to see how everything unfolds afterwards. i hope this makes sense if you want more specifics on each member we know so far…
jasmine - i like her design. she’s pretty and her personality gives like “idc what you guys do as long as i’m getting paid for it” type of vibes. i don’t think she really cares about the children or what’s really the “good” decision. i think she’s just there to see things play out.
ryan - i trust him i think. the way he warned alex to tell ashlyn something was off about maverick.. he definitely has more compassion compared to the rest of them. hopefully that doesn’t lead to his death or anything..!!
maverick - i don’t think he has good intentions at all, especially with that interaction with ben and how ryan literally warned others not to trust him. he gives me bad vibes.
mr thomas - i knew something was off about him since he saw ashlyn’s shadow. i just didn’t think he’d turn out THAT twisted. and that panel where he sticks the needle in ashlyn’s arm actually sent chills through me when i first read it, it was so well done. we haven’t seen him in a while in the webtoon so i wonder what’s happening there…
as for rosepunch, i don’t have any strong opinions towards the ship. i don’t hate it i think its cute and i can see why people ship it (i also like the ship name), but id need to see more content of them before i decide fully.

There are more meanings of Barbie characters' names?
I'll go through the whole list of Barbie's family and friends from Wikipedia for all the characters I didn't list before.
Barbie's family members
George (her father): "Farmer."
Margaret (her mother): "Pearl."
Tutti (her discontinued sister): An Italian word that means "all" – best known in the US from "tutti frutti" ("all fruits"), a term for mixture of chopped candied fruits or for sweets with a mixed fruit flavor. For Barbie's sister, it must be a nickname.
Francie (her cousin): Short for Frances, meaning "Frenchwoman."
Jazzie (another cousin): Jazz is a style of music; the slang term "jazzy" means bright, colorful, and showy, like the music. It could also be a nickname for Jasmine. It's obviously a nickname, at any rate.
Kirsten (another cousin): "Christian."
Lulu (another cousin): Probably short for Louise or Louisa, meaning "famous in battle," or for Lucinda or Lucia, meaning "light," or for Lucille, meaning "little light."
Millicent (her aunt): "Strong in work" or "unceasing strength."
Adele (another aunt): "Noble."
Female friends (she's had so many!)
Raquelle: "Ewe."
Grace: Self-evident.
Stacey: Derived from Anastasia, meaning "resurrection," or from Eustacia, meaning "fruitful."
P.J.: Unknown; we'd need to know what her initials stand for.
Steffie: Short for Stephanie, meaning "crown" or "wreath."
Cara: "Beloved."
Whitney: "White island."
Miko: "Delicious" or "entertaining."
Kira: "Young" or "black."
Becky: Short for Rebecca, meaning "tie" or "snare."

Lara: "Citadel."
Drew: Originally a male name derived from Andrew, meaning "manly."
Melody: Self-evident.
Simone: "Listening."
Shannen: A variant of Shannon, the name of a river in Ireland, which probably comes from a root word meaning "old" or "ancient."
Maiko: "Child in a linen robe" or "dancing child."
Harper: "Harp maker."
Renee: "Reborn."
Daisy: "Daisy flower," of course.
Tia: "Aunt."
Courtney: "Short nose."
Desiree: "Desired."
Ling: "Spirit" or "bell."
Dee Dee: Unknown; originally a nickname for anyone whose name started with D.
Dana: "God is my judge" or "wise."
Diva: A term for a singing star (especially an arrogant one), from the Italian word for "goddess." Obviously a nickname.
Tori: Short for Victoria, meaning "victory."

Chelsie: "Chalk wharf."

Barbie's younger siblings have lots of friends too, but I'd be here all day if I tried to look up their names' meanings too.

Manila, Philippines — VoicePlay & Rachel Potter live performances
Tumblr media
When VoicePlay and their buddy Rachel Potter released their "Moana medley" video in the summer of 2017, it went a bit viral and brought them a number of new fans, especially among young kids and their parents. A year later, one of those families invited the six singers to perform at their daughter's birthday party in Manila, with the added incentive of a public show for more of their Filipino fans. A trip to the other side of the world was an opportunity they weren't about to pass up. Even if it did require a full day of travel each way, everyone agreed that the experience was well worth it.

I would like to see some kind of interaction between Jasmine and the boss (is it just me or does he look a little like Aiden's father? just a little)
He does! I was kind of thinking of that on one of my rereads. I think in the current art style they look a little more different, but there are similarities.
Anyways, here you go!
Words: 220
“You need me for somethin’?” Jasmine’s voice, while low, carried a bit of a casual sing-song to it as she closed the door behind her. “Ryan said that you wanted to see me next, so. I kind of of figured it would be important.”
“Oh, I only wanted to ask if you’ve noticed anything different with any of the kids. I know you’re not the one watching them, but between you and Ryan, you did have the closest contact with them in Savannah.”
“M-hm, sure did. Got to talk directly to them, too.” Jasmine tilted her head a bit, the smallest of smiles tugging at her lips as she leaned her shoulder back against the cool wall behind her. “Based on what Ryan’s told me, it’s just that they’re causing energy spikes—oh, they started learning self-defense, too. The girl’s mom is teaching them? Pretty sure it’s not because of Ryan, though. Seems like one of them was having a preeetty good amount of trouble before, anyway. Plus, depending on what’s happening to them…”
“They probably assumed that it would help them survive.”
Jasmine’s voice perked up slightly, her smile growing ever-so-slightly as she nodded at the other. “Yup! Exactly. Definitely something we should factor in, though. Especially since we’re moving forward with the whole plan.”
"You know we will."

I was interested in Tay's Headcanon, now I'm interested in one of Jasmine's xd
any headcanon list about her?
I don't have the widest range of headcanons for her (especially not if I'm going off of the top of my head)! But let's go! :D
Grew up without financial stability. I don't really have any basis for this headcanon, it's just kind of a vibe that I've gotten from her. If it gets revealed that she grew up rich or something, I'm going to think it's the funniest thing.
One of the first things she did when she turned 18 and got a decent amount of money was get her first tattoo. I think she would have gotten the one in the middle of her chest over with first, honestly. I hope lilredbeany posts the full concept for her tattoo at some point. I wanna know what the full thing looks like...
One of her favorite songs is Venom (Icon For Hire). This is on the SBG playlist that lilredbeany has, and I almost always attribute to Jasmine for some reason.
Thanks to her eye color, I associate her with a lot of forest-y colors; dark greens, browns, etc.; I think that she tends to stick to a lot of darker and more muted colors, sometimes in those shades.
Her first hair cut was when she was 14, and it was done in the middle of the night in her bathroom. It looked rough, but it was a lot better/more comfortable/she felt more like herself. She's been keeping it short ever since. Doesn't do anything special with it, just wakes up, ruffles it out/combs through it with her fingers, and is done. If she's gotta lead some kids to a rift, though, she'll clean up a little bit better.
Had to look at makeup tutorials on YouTube to cover up and hide her tattoos/piercing holes. Not that her tattoos needed a lot of effort to hide, but. She wasn't used to using concealer or anything.
Can sleep almost anywhere, so long as she has something to cover up with--it doesn't have to be a blanket, it can be just a jacket.
She acts a lot more friendly with the boss than she does with Ryan. It's not that she's more comfortable with the boss--it's actually that she's more comfortable letting herself relax/letting her guard down around Ryan. She can argue with him, talk back, joke around, elbow and nudge him, etc.

They tried to do the same with Iris from Terms and Conditions, it literally mentioned that she’s DARKSKIN but they kept casting her a lightskin, (Specifically I pictured her as Ryan Destiny) but y’know the ✋🏻 can’t stand a POC specifically a black women the main character of their favorite books
finally met a person who visualized ryan destiny as iris. i also visualized jasmine tookes also considering the amount of times people use sis wedding photos for aesthetic photos for terms & conditions. i have noticed people do that a lot with creating aesthetic edits for novels. it ain’t that hard to find some dark skinned or brown skinned ladies for characters. especially when the author specifically state that they’re dark skinned! that’s one thing about my novels i plan on publishing…readers will know that the female leads are dark skinned. i will literally imprint it on the back of their eyelids cause if i open social media and you using damn zendaya photos as aesthetic for my novel, imma scream 😭

A television star in hiding rediscovers his heart when he meets a neurodivergent woman in this heartfelt romance.
Cruel Summer Vows (Summers in Seaside) A Friends to Lovers, Hollywood Romance by Rachel Radner is Live
Reluctantly escaping LA after a scandal--hey, never sleep with the married ones--Ryan Lane needs something to keep his mind occupied. He shouldn't spend his time thinking about Jasmine, the (very married) woman of his dreams who has remained in Hollywood, trying to save her relationship with her hubby.
Enter the mysterious woman in the cafe up north in Seaside where Ryan's been staying. She's a little on the awkward side the first time they meet. Hell, she's a little on the awkward side the third time they meet. Yet there's something about her that keeps drawing him closer, even though she won't seem to let him in.
Nora's an emotional mess, a bundle of nerves--at any hour of any day. But especially when she meets the mysterious guy in the mask and bucket hat. She thinks he might be Ryan Lane, the celeb who got booed for wearing the other team's jersey at a game she once attended. Except, she can't bring herself to find out. Instead, they share a series of deep conversations, and then a slew of kisses in dark rooms, all without ever exchanging names.
It's the cruelest vow of all--that there will be nothing at the end of the summer, and they will each go their separate way. Except the summer nights grow shorter, and the kisses grow deeper. Eventually, neither one of them wants to let go.
When the masks are ripped off completely, Ryan and Nora will need to learn to let their guards down. Or everything that could have been will wind up on the cutting room floor.
