Edit: look I didn't do a good job explaining what these were for the first time so I've got a second edit at the bottom of the page that explains things better.
-----------------
I made my own pain and fatigue scale charts. Because I'm so adept at overcoming my symptoms the normal pain scale doesn't really work for me. I adjusted my numbers so that I could change the number into something I could tell a doctor when they inevitably ask me to rate my pain.
[Image Description: Pain Scale Chart with rainbow gradient background for each row, starting at red and ending at blue.
Row 1: Mine Drs Pain Scale Description
Row 2: 10 X I am not leaving my bedroom or bathroom, someone needs to bring me food and I need something to dull the pain or the pain will cause tears.
Row 3: 9 X I am not leaving my bedroom and bathroom for anything other than food.
Row 4: 8 10 Speaking is difficult. It is no longer practical to do activities outside of the bathroom or bedroom, but they can be done with assistance.
Row 5: 7 9 Necessary care activities are sacrificed. Academic activities and social activities can no longer be tolerated.
Row 6: 6 8 My pain is tiring. Paying attention is difficult. All activities require pacing and extra effort.
Row 7: 5 7 My pain is so distracting it is making me tired. It is hard to think. Necessary care activities are no longer all doable.
Row 8: 4 6 My pain is so distracting it is making me tired. It is harder to think. Necessary care activities are starting to be limited.
Row 9: 3 5 I can continue to do most activities
Row 10: 2 4 My pain bothers me but I can ignore it most of the time
Row 11: 1 3 My pain bothers me, but I can ignore it most of the time.
Row 12: 0 2 I am aware of my pain only when I pay attention to it
Row 13: X 1 My pain is hardly noticeable
Row 14: X 0 I have no pain. END Image Description]

Feel free to use them yourself if you like them!
---------------
Edit p2:
So these charts I made them for showing people and using them to talk about my pain. The numbers are just sort of a reference point . The words are what's important. The fact that it is a relationship is what's significant.
I've got chronic pain and chronic fatigue. I'm never not in pain and I'm never not tired. These are based on the main pain and fatigue scales that I usually get shown at places that aren't specialized in treating pain or fatigue.
I use these when talking to my family, using the number that relates to the mine side. I use these with my non pain doctors who don't treat my pain or fatigue. I use the Drs number when talking to Drs. Anything that in those X spots is also 10. Drs don't like pain larger than 10 because they think you're faking it.
I made these after getting covid. It was about a year later and I still couldn't describe my pain in terms of the standard scale because I couldn't conceptualize pain properly because covid had completely broken my internal perception of pain intensity. Because I went from never having gone to 10/10 or ever being there for very long to about 2 weeks of what I could only describe as 13/10 pain. It was logarithmically higher than anything I my brain could process. And my brain didn't process it. I just sort of cried a lot, slowly.
If you are ever using a personalized pain scale or something you found online with a doctor you should show them what you're talking about. You need to make sure they understand you.
I posted this because I was having a hard time saying that while I was at a 3 in terms of abilities, I was in just as much pain as when I had been previously at a 5. I needed something that showed what I was talking about.
It feels very strange adding all these disclaimers so far after, but I've been thinking "it's too late" every time Ive realized someone might use it in a way that wouldn't help them. And then ignoring the problem for a while.
We've got 3k notes on this. People keep looking at it. The disclaimers are nessesary. I'm sorry they weren't there before.
I just remembered that I specifically made this because I needed to be able to point at a number and have my parents be able to know what that meant. They don't have training in the pain scale. They don't know what it means. But they do know what I mean now when I say I'm at a 6. They understand me.
The point is, this says that it's used for talking to doctors and it's really not. It's for my family mostly. And my PCP who keeps asking what pain I'm at and I just need to say a number that communicates the thing she wants to know (that's why the Drs thing is on there. That's the number she needs. She doesn't care. It's weird. She's weird.)
But it is mostly for my family. It's for describing how I'm doing.
Do not use this in emergencies!!! Do not use this with pain specialists without showing it to them!!!

Review shiny eevee and evolutions?
For sake of ease, we're going to group these by how good their shinies are, starting with:
The "I don't think you tried at all" shame corner (Glaceon, Leafeon, and Flareon): Doing all of these at once because I have the same issue with all of them: they are WAY too similar to the original colors, leading to incredibly boring and underwhelming shinies.
Glaceon: Just ever-so-slightly lighter than the original; the sprites had a tiny bit more contrast but not much. I would recommend making the whole thing white, which is a nice snowy color; sure, it does kind of share shiny Eevee's palette then but Jolteon and Espeon are both green so it probably doesn't matter.
Leafeon: The body is a tad darker, but good luck noticing. You could make the body a light green for something monotone, you could make the leaves brown or red, something autumn-y; literally just anything else would be better.
Flareon: Flareon the least bad of this group and mostly suffers from 3D conversion (its old sprites were more red while the old shiny sprites were more of a brownish gold). Easiest fix would just be to make the shiny a purer yellow like the above edit, or you could swing the opposite and do a deep red instead.
The "fine, but why?" corner (Jolteon and Espeon): Both of these ones are nice and high-contrast, and are very easy to spot compared to the non-shiny versions. The only issue with them is that the greens here feel very... random? They're not bad, but they don't feel natural.
Espeon: I like that it looks a bit like a space alien, but that really has nothing to do with the actual 'mon itself. For a Pokemon associated with the sun, you'd think they'd go for a yellow with a blue gem or something like the above (would tie it into Umbreon's shiny). At the very least, the green they chose feels way too dark for Espeon; a nice light, minty shade would've helped a lot, especially with a yellow gem or something. Also, I dislike that it has three different accent colors (red, purple, and blue).
Jolteon: The shade of green here works a lot better than the one used for Espeon, but it's an odd choice for an electric-type; once again, not bad, just odd. I would've just gone with a cyan-ish blue, which is still high-contrast but much more on theme.
The "actually good shinies" corner (Vaporeon, Eevee, Umbreon, and Sylveon): These ones are all bangers; lots of contrast and with color choices that feel natural for each.
Vaporeon: While this one borders on not having much to do with the theme, purple is at least close to blue hue-wise, so while it's not necessarily very water-y it doesn't feel like it's completely coming out of the left field either.
Eevee: Eevee's whole thing is that it's supposed to be plain and normal, so neutral colors are a must. The very light cream they used here stands out compared to the darker brown originally used but still works with the concept. Using a cream instead of pure white also allows it to keep a tiny bit of color. (I'm not posting an image of the g-max here, but I think it uses the same cream so no issues there.)
Sylveon: Sylveon doesn't actually change its hues; instead, it opts to swap its secondary and tertiary colors. This can be a risky gamble, but it works here because there was so much more pink in the original design compared to blue, so the change still really stands out. Because it uses the original palette in different proportions, it also doesn't run the risk of the colors feeling too random. Also it's trans, so that's a bonus.
Umbreon: Umbreon's shiny is a banger and you don't need me to tell you that. Swapping accent colors can be risky because it's not always that noticeable (see that Lunatone review I did a few days ago), but the yellow was such a prominent and bold part of the design that the blue swap stands out, helped by the fact that it pops really nicely against the black body is a nice "nighttime" color. Swapping the eyes to yellow further helps differentiate it, and it keeps the kind of "eerie" look that the original's red eyes invoked.
Overall: Vaporeon, Eevee, Sylveon, and Umbreon have great shinies. Espeon and Jolteon have okay shinies that are high-contrast but don't feel very natural. Glaceon, Leafeon, and Flareon barely change and are just plain boring.

I couldn't fit the tutorial on a reply lmao, here's a full post explaining my process :]]
STAMP TUTORIAL (TF2 edition, but works for everything)
99% of the process is done on the website ezgif. Ezgif carries the stamp-making process lmao
1. Get your GIF
Tenor: Ok place to grab your GIFs. Average quality of the GIFs is good enough, and looks ok when resized to the size of the stamp. You'll find like 1 normal GIF every 4 buff characters GIF tho.
GIPHY: Average quality of the GIF is better (I don't think the web compresses the GIFs that are uploaded)… If you find what you're looking for. You'll have to SCROLL before finding what you're looking for because there are always non-related GIFs on the top of your searches or the same GIF multiple times, it's crazy.
makeagif: You will find cool GIFs, but the quality is pretty low (I think the web itself compresses the GIFs a lot). It looks bad even when resized down. And it has a watermark, which I recommend cropping because it's not even visible when resized, it just looks like a gray blob on the corner.
Google: Best option by far, quality is pretty good and the ratio of “things I was looking for/things I actually find” is SLIGHTLY in favor of “things I was looking for” (and most of “things I actually find” are just the characters rotating, not NSFW, so that's only a nice change from Tenor). You won't have to scroll much to see different and interesting GIFs. JUST REMEMBER TO FILTER BY GIFS.
You search whatever > Images > Tools > Type > GIF
Make it on your own: Aka, you download your video, go to ezgif's “Video to GIF” (then you can crop it, CUT IT. THIS IS IMPORTANT, YOU DON'T NEED TO GO ANYWHERE ELSE TO CUT YOUR CLIP, YOU CAN DO IT ON EZGIF ITSELF). Ok, I lied, it wasn't Google, this is the best oftion by far. You get exactly what you want, the best quality if you don't compress it much until after the GIF has been resized into the size of a stamp… It's just super time-consuming, and you'll have to spend like an entire hour just watching a video to find the clips.
OK, I HAVE MY GIF NOW
Hehe, his legs go pipupipu
2. Resize
Go to ezgif, this is where the fun begins (if you weren't on ezgif already). You download your GIF, or copy the link and insert it, or you'll have it there if you made it yourself.
A STAMP MAKES 99px × 56px
THE INNER PART OF THE STAMP MAKES 91px × 47px
I RECOMMEND MAKING YOUR GIF 92px × 48px
BTW, THESE MEASURES ARE FOR THE TEMPLATE I'LL GIVE YOU LATER. If you use another template, just go to an image editor and see what the inner size of the stamp is.
So, you set your GIF's width to 92px.
Then crop it, so your height is 48px.
Or you can resize it so it's directly 92px × 48px, but the crop will be in the center, and SOMETIMES YOU DON'T WANT THAT.
For example:
It's a vertical GIF whose area of interest is not in the center, so if we resize it directly-
oops-
ANYWAY
Once you have your GIF resized:
IMPORTANT: BEFORE THE NEXT STEP, REMEMBER TO CONVERT TO GIF IF THE FILE YOU'RE WORKING ON ISN'T A GIF ALREADY
Sometimes you'll be working with a webp without even noticing (EW, I hate webp) and transparencies don't work particularly well with that extension.
3. Overlay
Click on this icon.
Ok, now that that's fixed:
Extend the size of the canvas.
Select your template and Upload image!
This is the template, btw.
Then move the overlay around until it contains the GIF nicely, or just set Left to 43, Top to 20 and Generate image! (I have these numbers memorized, it saves you like 20 seconds lmao)
Also, again, these numbers work on MY template, if you use another one, you'll have to figure it out yourself.
4. Crop
THIS OPTION IS A TIME-SAVER FR
5. Optimize (optional, highly recommend)
I always set my optimization method to Lossy GIF and level 10 because I find that there is no quality loss, and the file size might drop by 30%-70% (actually crazy). These percentages don't change much in higher compressions, even though you'll start seeing a drop in quality around level 35 of compression (the default).
6. Save
YIPPE!!! Your stamp is done :D
You can save it and look at it and place it on your profile or website.
Here it is btw, in case someone wanted it :]] The Sniper GIF but correctly cropped and made into a stamp as well.
Now do that another… eleven times, and you'll have a stamp pack to make into a Tumblr post... Oof TT
There's no website that lets you make stamps faster lmao (I wish)
@sir-broken-bones (I'm @ them so they actually see it, I made this tutorial for them after all lol)

Victoria Secret Perfume
Pairing: Noah Sebastian x musician!Reader
Type: One Shot
Description: The reader becomes friends with Noah and they make the social media world run in circles.
Word Count: 1049
“Ugh, that was amazing!” I gasp out, I’ve been out of breath since playing the seventh song and just now catching my breath. The group and I stood talking for a bit before our manager butts in “My favorite people in the world, sorry for interrupting but there are some people here to meet you”
I look around confused as does the rest of the group “We’re not supposed to do fan meet and greets tonight” our lead singer Tia says to him. He shakes his head smiling “I was told that there was another band in the audience tonight and they wanted to meet you guys” He says smiling too hard, I squint my eyes at him before asking “Who?” his phone beeps and he walks over to one of the doors, before opening he smirks at me “its the band bad omens.”
I can feel my heart starting to pound, I told Carlisle in confidence how much of a crush I had on their singer, and knowing him, this wasn't just a coincidence that they are here after telling him. He opens the door and welcomes the band in before walking them over to us.
I watch as he introduces the girls by name and I make eye contact with Noah as he now stands in front of me, I inhale a subtle deep breath before smiling up at him “Hi I’m Y/n” I introduce myself, sticking my hand out. His hand is so warm as he shakes my hand, holding it a few seconds longer (Or I’m being delulu) He smiles down at me “Yeah, I used to watch your live streams”
my heart stutters as he laughs slightly at my reaction. I close my mouth, not knowing it was open. “Thank you, you guys are amazing” I realize I’m only addressing Noah and I look to the side at the rest of the band “Seriously, You guys killed it” they smile in appreciation. I look back and notice Noah still staring at me.
That is how we became best friends, fast forward to now and a lot has changed, Tia left the group to work solo, I, Isla and Valery decided to stay a throuple and it’s been even more amazing, They deemed me to start singing and the fans have been so supportive and like our new image.
The band and I are very good friends with Noah’s, more so Noah and I have become close, him helping me with my performance anxiety and me helping his. Over the past year, fans have been going crazy over our friendship, now and then we come across a fan edit of us on TikTok, and it's pretty funny reacting to them on live stream.
I sit at home in my gaming room and have been live streaming the past two hours playing a game and talking to some fans when my phone lights up with a message. “Speak of the devil” I laugh and look at Noah's message asking if he can come over, after responding I go back to streaming.
“So I’ll probably see you all at the next show here in Virginia soon, I’m so excited,” I say with excitement not knowing Noah has just walked in the room but considering I can’t hear with these headphones on. I looked at the chat box as it was starting to go crazy “Someone’s behind you?” before I could turn I felt warmth surrounding my back and sighed in relief.
Noah bends behind my chair, hugging me from behind, nestling his head in the side of my hair, I chuckle as the chat starts spamming and I can barely read the messages. He lets go and swings a chair over to sit next to me “I didn't know you were gonna be here that quick, you scared the shit out of me” I lightly slap his stomach. He laughs and catches my hand in his “I was already on my way over when I called you” I start to laugh hysterically.
I look at the chat, “Please tell me what Noah smells like?” I laugh and shake my head, “Are you and Noah together?” I shake my head again “Noah looks like he would smell like cinnamon or mint but in reality, he smells like Victoria's Secret perfume” I smirk at the comments flowing through and look over my shoulder at him.
He wasn't even paying attention to the stream, he was staring and watching his hand rub back and forth on my side and back, I tapped his knee and he looked up “Mhm?” I laugh as he isn't paying attention “They were asking what you smelled like” he furrows his eyebrows and looks to the stream “Some people say I look like I smell like mint or maybe cinnamon but I smell like that perfume you use” he points to me at the end.
I continue to stare at him, I forget how deep his voice can get, I break away from my thoughts when I see his face form into a smug smirk, and he looks me up and down, I take a quick breath and turn my attention back to the stream.
“Why would he smell like you?” I read one of the comments, I glance at him slightly and hover my cursor on the end stream button “Because when he lays on top of me at night my smells linger onto him” I laugh and quickly end the stream before the fans spam and go crazy.
I look at Noah as he starts to laugh “I can’t believe you did that, they're gonna go feral now” He says standing up from the pink furry desk chair, he holds his hand out for me to help me stand up. I stare up at him and hug his waist “I gotta give the fans what they want” I smirk, tap his chest, and walk out of the room.
Noah stands in the middle of the room and glances at me as I walk away, smirking and feeling proud and claimed by the girl who is the love of his life and the girl who makes him willingly spray Victoria's Secret perfume on so he can smell her when she’s not in a room.

Ok, so i haven't seen a comparison for the new vs old poster design, and it is different, so I'm going to go over everything I notice that looks different and say which version I like better
I've broken it down into 3 parts, the skull on top, the bottom image with the lodge, and a specific part for the lineup of characters at the bottom
The skull doesn't look much different, but there are a few things that are definitely changed. Another thing that's different is that the old one has a transparent gradient that makes it so you can see the snow that's pouring down onto the lodge in the bottom half of the skull, almost making the skull look like its made of ice, while you can't see that in the new one. The new skull is slightly thinner and taller. And the new skull has more a pronounced red glow. I prefer the transparent bottom, but I like the shape of the new one, and the red glow being stronger
The bottom scene is a little more different, with the lodge being visually facing a whole other direction. The windows are lit in the new one, and there's now snow and ice around the base of the hourglass. The lodge itself looks more impressive and imposing. I overall prefer the new bottom half
The row of characters at the bottom is super interesting, because it implies a lot. Now right off the bat you can see them better in the new one. As best I can tell, the original goes, from left to right, Chris, Sam, Ashley, Mike, Matt, Emily, Josh, Jess. Sue me if I'm wrong. The new one, much easier to see, goes Matt, Ashley, Chris, Mike, Sam, Josh, Jess, Emily. I this the new order makes more sense, with Mike and Sam, the main character archetypes, in the middle, Josh and Chris, both huge players in the story, next to them, then the characters who have less decisions and large impact, Matt, Ashley, Jess and Emily, on the outside. Prefer the new lineup
Edit: huh, they made Jess's parka thing pink???

masterlist
In the dim glow of the computer screen, you meticulously crafted characters for a new project. As you worked, your eyes flickered between your design and the models on the screen. Each stroke of the digital pen seemed to highlight your own insecurities, magnifying the differences between yourself and the designs you created. No matter how much time you spent creating realistic bodies, perfect faces, and exquisite clothing, you still couldn't not compare them with your body or face.
"Why can't I look like them?" you whispered, her voice barely audible in the quiet room. You compared your curves to the slender figures on the screen, your fingers tracing the outline of your own body almost unconsciously. Doubt crept in like a shadow, casting a pall over your confidence."How could something have such an appealing figure? What is wrong with me?"You sighed heavily, knowing you were being silly.
Meanwhile, Yunho noticed the change in your demeanour. He approached you, his eyes filled with concern. "Hey, what's going on?" he asked gently, his voice like a soothing melody in the midst of your turmoil.
You looked up, your eyes reflecting a storm of emotions. "I just... I feel so inadequate compared to these models I'm editing. They're perfect, and I'm just..." your voice trailed off, the unspoken words hanging heavily in the air.
Yunho knelt beside you, his warm hand cupping your cheek. "You are perfect, just the way you are," he said, his sincerity cutting through your self-doubt. "Your uniqueness, your curves, they make you beautiful. Don't let these digital images distort your perception of yourself."
Tears welled up in your eyes as you stared into Yunho's brown irises, seeing nothing but love and acceptance. "But it's hard, Yunho. Every day, I'm bombarded with these unrealistic standards of beauty. How can I not compare myself?"
He gently wiped away your tears with his thumb, his touch grounding you in the moment. "I understand, Y/N. It's challenging, but you have to remember that real beauty comes from within. Your kindness, your talent, your passion – those are the things that make you truly extraordinary."
You nodded, taking in his words like a lifeline in the storm. "I just wish I could see myself the way you see me."
Yunho smiled, his eyes filled with adoration. "I see a strong, talented, and beautiful person who I love more than words can express. I see someone who inspires others with her creativity and passion. You are more than your insecurities, Y/N. You are enough, just as you are."
Unable to hold back any longer, you leaned forward, brushing your lips against his soft skin. "Thank you, Yuyu," you murmured, hoping the gratitude in your voice would translate.
Yunho's eyes fluttered closed as his head tilted to the side, inviting you to continue. For a few moments, all was quiet except for the faint sounds of the computer humming.
Then, he lifted your chin and kissed you tenderly. His gentle kiss stirred something inside of you, warming you from the inside out. "Mmm," he moaned softly, the sound catching your attention. “Maybe I should show you how I see you and your so called imperfections,” he whispered against your lips, pulling away slightly before kissing you again, this time deeper. He took you in his arms, wrapping you tightly against him, your fingers entwined in his hair as he deepened the kiss, slowly pushing you towards the bed.
When you felt Yunho’s firm hands caress your waist, your breath caught in your throat. Your heart pounded furiously in your chest as your senses heightened to the point where you felt everything around you. He pushed you down slowly, onto the bed, as his lips traveled from your lips to your jaw and neck, leaving little purple marks in their wake.
The taste of your skin intoxicated him, driving him wild as his tongue licked along your collarbone. His hands wandered downwards, moving in slow motion as if to savor each sensation. You squirmed beneath him, arching your back, inviting him to explore your body further.
At last, he reached the hem of the long shirt you wore, lifting it inch by inch until it was lying abandoned at your feet. You watched as he removed his shirt and pants, throwing them aside carelessly, leaving him in his boxers. He gazed down at you, his eyes darkening.
There was no need to ask; he knew exactly what you wanted. His mouth went further south leaving soft kisses and light marks on your torso. Reaching near your chest, he moved away, “ See, this is how much I love the way you look,” he whispered. you felt yourself become even more heated under his touch, a dark blush covering your face and chest.
As his mouth was once again on your skin continuing to move lower, licking and sucking at the sensitive skin of your stomach, you forgot all about your flaws. All you could think about was his soft lips trailing upwards now towards your breasts. You arched your back, allowing him better access to your stiff nipples.
His hands slid underneath the waistband of your panties, making contact with bare skin. He groaned at the feeling, “you’re already so wet for me…”
The gasp escaped your lips when his fingers found their way between your legs, massaging your swollen clit in circular motionswhile he sucked on your nipples. You moaned and arched into his mouth as your body trembled from pleasure.
Slowly he pushed two of his fingers inside your cunt. You had done this before but it still felt like a first. Your mind was reeling from lust and his rough touch. Your brain turned to mush. He kissed you again, nibbling at your neck, shoulders and earlobe, as he continued his ministrations, pumping his fingers faster and faster into you.
You whimpered, trying not to cry out too loud. You had to maintain some self-control or he would have stopped. Instead, you moaned, burying your face against his shoulder as your hole clenched around his fingers. The pressure began building. Your head was spinning and your cunt tingling as heat erupted through your entire body.
He looked at you as you gasped and tried to catch your breath. “You are so beautiful, I can’t have enough,” he said.
He kissed you passionately and sat back up to remove his boxers. “Climb up here, I want to see you…” His voice was full of passion and urgency.
Your fingers fumbled as you climbed onto his lap, sliding down until your soaked cunt was lined up against his cock. Your eyes widened despite knowing that he could easily fit inside like always. With your legs wrapped around his hips, he pulled you tight against his throbbing erection, enjoying the sensation. You slowly lowered yourself onto him and moaned. “That feels good…”. Yunho groaned in response, you slowly started to move.
As if reading your thoughts, he tightened his grip around your waist, holding you tightly in place as he thrust upwards, forcing his cock deeper inside of you, you bounced lightly on his cock trying hard to get a release.
Frustrated with the slow pace, he flipped you around, you shuddered at the new angle as he thrusted in and out of your cunt at an even faster pace, one hand gripping at the plush skin of your stomach . You cried out deep in pleasure, your hands gripping his biceps tighter and tighter and you cunt clenching around him uncontrollably. His other hand cupped your breast, pinching your nipple as he ground into you harder and harder. Sweat coated both of you as the heat built within each of you. Finally you couldn’t take anymore and screamed as you released all over his cock.
Yunho was breathing heavily now, his grip tightening even more as he forced himself as deeply into you as possible, his thrusts becoming erratic, and the pressure of his hand increasing, enough to leave bruises on your waist. It didn’t matter though, because you loved every bit of it. When he came, your cunt tightened and he buried himself as deep as he could go, painting your walls white. He slowly rode out his release, you felt your muscles relax as well, small whimpers escaping your lips.
When he finally collapsed on top of you, you laid there motionless, staring into his face, thinking how lucky you were to be with someone like him. He shifted slightly, bringing his hand down to cup your cheek, kissing you gently on the lips. “I love you, you are absolutely flawless,” he whispered, looking at you with nothing but adoration in his eyes. You giggled at his words, “I love you too Yunho, so so much.”
Kissing him tenderly, you felt him smile beneath your lips. Your heart fluttered and you relaxed, wrapping your arms around his neck and pulling him closer, wanting to stay right where you were forever, as you both drifted off to sleep.

I'm reuploading one guide on making VHS effect more authentic I guess( I'm not gonna pretend I'm a specialist it's just when I was searching and studying it I noticed some people just apply channel effects or noises and overall pictures look like they're too fresh to be old looking) So first we need to understand how VHS works( I found this through videos on vhs and how nintendo 64 ported resident evil 2) VHS holders needed to save and hold a lot of information using metals that can't handle high resolution. In order to compress images VHS divides them into 2 groups: Tone(Black and White relation) and Chroma(color apply without tone channel type). These two channels are compressed to 1:16 of original resolution then changed into same size as original(by crop) but with less resolution. 1) Create new file in photoshop. Call it whatever you want just 'canvas1' can suffies. Sizes are: 640 px width 374(or any you want just in relation to classic 4:3 or 16:9) height AND printing resolution to 72 ppi. Create 3 other files with same application(canvas2 and canvas3 and canvas4) 2) In canvas2 we add screenshot(I used one I made in Hollow knight) now we're going to extract tone by using ctrl+U and change saturation to 0. Now we need to change image size and divide your width into 2 ( if we divide 640 into 2 we get 320 pixels width) height needs to stay the same so turn off button with proportional changes. After we compressed this file we call it 'tone' and save as jpg image. Now we need to add tone to canvas1 and transform it's width according to file size(don't change image size) this is layer1 now. 3) In canvas 3 we have same original screenshot but we need to apply different color profile in edit window(LAB colors) LAB colors consists of channels Light(this is our tone) and a b(these two makes chroma). We now need to open channel window and turn off Light(L) channel and we can see now e have pretty colors. I didn't find how to extract color from this profile so I made new screenshot of this file and add to canvas4(transformed it according to file size). 4)We can close canvas2 and canvas3. In canvas4 we need to change image size. We need to divide 640 into 16 we get = 40 pixels. Width are 40 pixels, height doesn't need to change. We can see now that this image looks squeeshed and that's right. This file we call 'chroma' and save as jpg. Then we need to add this image into canvas1 and transform it according to gile size without changing image size. This is layer2 now. 5)Change layer2 application from normal to color. If you want you can change oppacity to 65-75 %. Now we basically have broken vhs/low fidelity effect.(if you want you can add horro effect by changing layer mode to any instead of color)
BONUS ROUND: You can add some stuff through layer effect by copying finished image and turning off green and blue channel in it. Move this layer slightly to the left. Made another copy of og vhs image we had and turn off red and green move it slightly to the right. If you want to add logo made same thing with channels as we did previously and blur it a little.

Surgeon of Death: Doll Edition III
part 1 // part 2 // part 3 // part 4
trafalgar d. law x f!siren (no established relationships... yet) warnings: language, suggestive themes of self-image/eating issues summary: you have your moments of insecurity, but the captain in his subtle (or not so subtle) ways, reminds you that you were designed perfectly
-----------------
♪ Now Playing: Build a Bitch - Bella Poarch♪ "You don't get to pick and choose..//So if you need perfect, I'm not built for you"
------------------
You were always told your eyes were too blue, your hair was too black, you weren't skinny enough. The Faceless Masters had turned you into the perfect doll, but Trafalgar Law turned you into the perfect imperfection.
He forced you to take out the colored contacts you were wearing after finding out that your true eye color was not showing.
"It's not good to wear those for long," he said watching you remove the uncomfortable lenses. "It'll ruin your eyes." When you turned to look back at him, he felt his breath hitch slightly. Your eyes were a vivid crystal blue staring right at him, and you saw his hesitation and quickly averted your gaze.
".... they said my eyes were too blue," you whispered. The next thing you knew, Law had reached over and grasped your chin with his hand, tiling your head back up.
"No," he murmured. They're perfect. He fought back the words that almost spilled over, and he immediately let go of you and cleared his throat while reminding you not to wear the colored lenses again.
2. From the moment you arrived on the Polar Tang, Law made sure that you were fed properly.
"I need my crew to be ready for battle, and I don't need them collapsing from hunger or in a weakened state, do you understand me?" Law said sternly, and you nodded meekly. Your face and body curves slowly filled out, and the boiler suit started to fit properly instead of it draping over you and needing it rolled up several times. The clothes you came with, were also fitting more snug, but it wasn't uncomfortable. When the Heart Pirates arrived at the next town, you saw yourself in a full length mirror at a local market boutique. It had been awhile, but you almost didn't recognize yourself. That's.... me? You thought.
What you didn't notice was your Captain watching you from a far - you didn't often wear your own clothes, but lately you were feeling more confident to wear them again instead of just the white / orange boiler suit. His eyes were fixed on the curves that outlined your waist, hips and thighs; your legs and arms were more toned, and your cheeks had filled out to bring out the bright blue in your eyes even more.
You were beautiful - everything that had been deemed an imperfection was now perfection to Law.
But you had also garnered the attention of some hungry , lustful gazes, and Law felt his blood boil. The next thing you knew, you were enveloped in that familiar blue glow, and you felt a hand on the small of your back. You were startled to see that the Surgeon of Death had transported himself to your location, but a smile graced your lips as you beamed at him. "Captain, did you find what you were looking for?" You asked - you had been waiting for him to finish restocking his medical exam room.
"Yes, I did."
3. Your attitude was fiery than expected, especially in battle.
But Law would not change a thing, as your Siren voice commanded the enemy to strangulate themselves.
"Y/N." He said softly. "I need them alive." You released the spell and the enemy fell to their knees, gasping for air. Law moved to stand next to you, as you stood over the fallen form. "So you meant to poison me - "
"Fuck you, Law," the assassin spat out, as he immediately pulled out a hidden knife, but you had already pulled out your own sword, knocking the weapon out of the assassin's hands and pressing the blade against his throat.
"You're dead if you touch him," you snapped, your voice dripping with malice.
"Enough." Law's voice stopped you. Reluctantly you stepped away, and Law turned to you with a stern gaze. "Go back to Bepo."
"But - " You started.
"Captain's orders," he said firmly. "I have business with him." You sighed and let your head drop miserably.
".... Yes Captain," you mumbled. Law looked down at you with an amused look in his eyes, as he gently placed a hand on your head.
"Good girl." You looked up at his words of praise which lightened your heart significantly. You headed back to where Bepo was, and the polar bear shook his head. Ikkaku was standing next to him, watching the scene unfold in amusement.
"Y/N's scary when it comes to the Captain," Bepo said. "I didn't know she had it in her."
"Yeah, but I think that's what the Captain likes that about her," Ikkaku chuckled. "Makes things fun and interesting."

Starter GPose: Lighting 101 - GPose controls
It's hard to overstate how important lighting is for photography in general- and the same applies to gpose shots.
This is a huge topic, so let's start with the basics!
GPose Controls
There are 3 different kinds of lighting control available when in gpose: Global, Character, and Points.
Global illumination is controlled by the manual brightness adjustment slider. This is equivalent, in real-life photography, to exposure. Character lightning has no real-life equivalent, but may be thought of as a brightness control that only influences characters and similar entities (minions, NPCs, and enemies, for example.)
GPose also gives you 3 point light sources that can be used to emulate the 3-point lighting traditional method for illuminating a subject.
Positioning a source isn't exactly intuitive: A source is placed exactly where the camera is at the moment it is toggled. So to place it you need to move the camera to the desired position, and then enable it by toggling its button.
Oddly enough, these points do NOT project shadows. (in fact, a great deal of 'glowy' elements don't, like weapons and armor.) But you can use this fact for great effects!
You can, for example, create shots with perfect dark backgrounds by strategically placing gpose light points behind objects that do not block the emitted light. You can learn more about this technique here:
Ok, so where was I? Oh, right- lighting!
Let's play around with what we just learned then. Here's a default setup for a scene: Notice that the ceiling light *do* project shadows, but it's kinda low-res. So let's set ambient light to zero and control the shades ourselves.
Some rotation and gshade filters from Neneko Colors for better luminance, color, and model shades. It's better - but still looks pretty flat.
We want to pop the character out, so let's add some highlights and rim lights. First, the hair: let's give it a lustrous shine. Camera up top and a slightly bluish point.
Now the weapon. Remember that the item itself doesn't emit light? so let's place another point with the same tone as the weapon to illuminate Louise. To her left and behind her, slightly distant so as to project on her legs as well.
And finally, a directional key light to help illuminate her face.
Her model is still too dark, so let's use the character lighting control to help with that.
Now let's make the whole scene a bit brighter. Change the brightness adjustment slider to manual mode, and bring it up as needed.
This should be a good point to compare the initial setup with our results so far, showing how much basic gpose lighting can enhance a shot.
Now that you know how it's done, it's easy to see how some of my poses were set up! Here's one with a yellow source top-right, an orange source bottom-right, and a dim white source to the left of Louise:
Or this one: A very bright white source to the left (and a bit to the front), and a dim bluish/purplish source to the bottom right. Notice how much Louise pops out of the scene.
Next, I'll talk about exterior shots, fixture light sources, and other neat things.
(This guide is part of a series that I'm migrating from Twitter since Tumblr offers much better options for formatting and editing, and taking the opportunity to also update images and references. Let me know if you have any questions!)

Other good posts have gone around about this, but I wanted to give another boost to this survey from a Tumblr staff-affiliated blog @benevolenthellsite (warning: the blog itself has gifs, some of which are potentially slightly flashy).
Please, send them politely but strongly worded feedback about our frustration with accessibility issues. In particular, I recommend telling them you won't be buying anything from Tumblr, let alone turning off your ad blocker, unless they:
add a photosensitivity community label
give users an option to block gif/video audio play on both posts and ads, on both mobile and browser
give users the option to have alt text display automatically, in customizable font size/colors to ensure readability
give users the option to disable small text, colored text, etc
(you'll notice XKit Rewritten does some of the two above points, making me doubt it would be especially hard to code)
stop putting inaccessible art on Tumblr Radar
(seriously, there are so many wonderful artists who describe their work and so many more who will happily edit IDs into their posts once someone provides them in the notes. this would not be hard and would immediately incentivize more people to add descriptions)
fix the zoom-in feature for images on mobile so that it's actually usable again
ensure that any collapsing of reblog chains will be a setting you can permanently opt out of (this is an accessibility issue because it would make it harder to access image descriptions added later in threads)
Oh, and if you want, it wouldn't hurt to politely but firmly complain about the prev tags thing and any other signs of enshittification you can think of, btw.
I don't have high hopes that this will change anything, but I also don't think it can hurt (it takes like 5 minutes), and I would love to see @staff prove me wrong and actually start taking accessibility concerns seriously for once. Don't give them Crab Day money or whatever until they do.

MASTERLIST || Part 2 (coming soon)
Rex always made a point to avoid eavesdropping on Echo’s conversations with Aiko whenever he could. Although he had introduced the two, he respected their privacy. Still, it was difficult not to overhear snippets of their dialogue while they shared the bridge of the small transport ship.
“We're headed back; it shouldn't be more than a few hours before Rex drops me off,” Echo reassured Aiko as a loud swoosh and bang suddenly broke the ambient sounds of the transmission. Rex glanced over, noticing the pale blue image of Aiko’s face turn toward the source of the commotion on her end.
“What’s wrong?” she asked gently, sensing the tension radiating from her roommate.
“Labor. Can’t leave. Medical supplies—” came the fragmented response.
“She sounds flustered,” Echo remarked with a chuckle, prompting Rex to lean in slightly, intrigued by the plight of Aiko’s friend. Although he had met the Empath before Echo, he had yet to formally meet Mae, the resident doctor on Pabu. In fact, he had made it a point to avoid lingering on the island, always ensuring he dropped Echo off quickly before returning to one of the facilities he had helped establish for the clones they had rescued.
Rex watched as Aiko opened her arms, and the outline of a woman suddenly collapsed into her lap over the blurry imagery. “I need to head back; I just ran home to grab some clothes to change into later,” she groaned, her voice muffled as her mouth pressed into Aiko’s neck.
“What if I knew someone off-world who could pick up the supplies for you? Would that ease some of the stress?” Aiko suggested, her doctor nodding as she reached for the large clip securing her hair at the back of her head.
Rex observed, fascinated, as the blurry image of curls sprang free, almost cartoonishly, the moment they were released. “Depends on how trustworthy this person is,” she replied skeptically, her hands combing through her hair as she swiftly twisted it back into a tidy bun. Despite her back being turned to the transmission, he couldn’t help but be amazed at how long her hair was and how much space it seemed to occupy. He had never given hair much thought before; to him, it was just a nuisance, something to keep short and practical from all his years in combat. Yet now, he found himself wondering what color the doctor’s hair might be in real life.
“Echo can handle it. You can take care of it, right, darlin’?” Aiko prompted, shifting her attention back to the holopad as the woman whipped around abruptly.
The transmission distorted her features, making it hard to discern the exact shape of her nose or the nuances of her complexion beyond her pale skin. Details like the length of her eyelashes or the presence of freckles were lost in the blur. What stood out, however, were her large, expressive eyes, partially hidden behind comically oversized frames. Her lips were pulled into a shocked expression, full and plush, lending her a sharp yet fair appearance.
“Oh! Sorry! I didn’t mean to interrupt. I really need to head back anyway—patient in labor!” Mae exclaimed, abruptly standing and moving just out of the recording device's view.
“Mae, slow down—”
“Yes?” She spun around as Aiko pointed at the transmitter, raising an eyebrow.
“Don’t you need to tell Echo—”
“The supplies! Right! I’ll have AZI send the coordinates since he usually goes with me to pick them up. Thank you, Echo! Please tell your Captain I’m so sorry for any inconvenience the extra pitstop might cause!” She smiled brightly and dashed off before either of them could respond.
Rex doubted she even caught a proper glimpse of the image on the transmitter. If she had, she might have noticed him barely visible in the corner alongside Echo, and wouldn’t have felt the need to apologize to him. Hearing that concern sparked a light fluttering sensation in his stomach, creeping up his sternum and settling along his neck. It made Rex wonder how much Mae actually knew about him. After all, she had invited Aiko into her home, and she must be familiar with Echo’s frequent departures to assist him and the other clones. That implied she had some awareness of their situation. Yet here he was, knowing little about her aside from the fact that the empath lived with and befriended this intriguing woman.
Silence settled in the wake of the doctor's hasty departure. Eventually, Rex cleared his throat, the lack of conversation throughout the flight leaving it feeling coarse. He meant to ask Echo something, but instead, he found himself asking, “Is she, uh, always like that?”
In unison, Echo and Rex confirmed that yes, the resident doctor was indeed chaotic most of the time. Rex gave a light nod before turning back to the distance transmitter, knowing information about the drop would come soon. He opted to tune out the rest of their conversation, allowing a moment of privacy for the couple.
He couldn’t quite understand why the sight of the frazzled woman with oversized glasses, rivaling Tech’s goggles in diameter, was so perplexing. Perhaps it was his mental image of a doctor who would open her home to Aiko—a figure he’d expected to be more mature, perhaps even older. Instead, here was someone who looked close to his own age. Was it the loneliness he had tried to bury, but which now resurfaced more frequently since Echo’s transmission?
He couldn’t deny that the longing had always lingered, perhaps embedded in his very DNA from Jango. It was a desire that felt intrinsic, something the longnecks seemed unable to resolve. It might have been ignited by his injury on Saleucami, the encounters with Cut and Suu and their children. Rex often reassured himself that he didn’t need what they had, nor what the 99 boys had discovered on the island. He had his brothers and a mission, and that should have been enough… right? Yet he couldn’t shake the realization that it had been a long time since he’d genuinely spent time with a woman.
Recently, the only women Rex encountered were those already involved with his brothers, contacts for assignments, or friends like the Martell sisters and Senator Chuci. All of them felt unattainable, and none turned his head quite the same way.
“You sure it’s not a bother to make an additional pit stop?” Echo asked, pulling Rex from his thoughts. He turned to see that Aiko had ended the transmission.
“No, not at all?” Rex replied, his tone more of a question than a statement, prompting Echo to raise an eyebrow and hum in response. Rex noticed how Echo subtly observed him, taking in the way he straightened his posture and adjusted his collar, then fixed his gaze on the hyperspace lane ahead as if it had suddenly become the most captivating sight in the galaxy.
“Remind me again, what are your plans while I’m back on Pabu for a few days?” Echo inquired.
“Waiting to hear back from my contact about that prison in the Outer Rim, catching up on manuals, keeping the others in line. The usual,” Rex shrugged. He often felt that spending time on Pabu was an imposition on the relaxed life Clone Force 99 had built for themselves, with each of the boys finding their own personal distractions. Given the nature of his work and the responsibilities he felt toward his brothers still trapped under the Empire’s thumb, those distractions felt like a risk. It was why he had erected a mental barrier around such relationships.
“You know, you’re always welcome to spend your downtime on Pabu—”
“No, no, that’s your home,” Rex interrupted.
“You need to recharge sometime,” Echo insisted.
“I can recharge at our satellite facility,” Rex countered.
“By the time you get there and back, it’ll be a waste of fuel.”
“Still, I don’t want to impose—”
“Rex, we go way back,” Echo said with a sigh, his new hand attachment gripping his brows as he massaged his temples, searching for the right words.
“Pabu is your home, Echo. I don’t mind making an extra pit stop to help someone who does so much for the community where you boys hang up your armor, but that doesn’t mean I need to stay and see it through.” Deep down, Rex understood that lingering and getting close to a pretty doctor wasn’t wise. If she was as busy as Echo often described, she likely felt the same way. As stunning as she was, she probably had her pick of the clones residing there. What if she was already involved with someone?
“Are you even listening to me?” Echo huffed.
Rex knew there was no point in lying, so he simply shook his head.
“One or two days won’t kill you. Besides, we both know the chances of anyone getting us solid information on that prison are slim to none. It’s a waste of fuel. Plus, the others keep pestering me about how you’re doing, especially Aiko. I think she’s worried about you,” Echo said with a playful smirk.
“Why on earth would she be worried about me?” Rex quirked a dark eyebrow, feeling the tension ease as the conversation took on a more lighthearted tone.
“She’s concerned that you’re lonely and overworking yourself. And just in case you’ve forgotten, I can’t lie to her,” Echo reminded him.
“You really had to fall for an empath,” Rex replied, shaking his head. He knew fuel was expensive, and leaving on principle wasn’t exactly a rational decision. Still, he felt himself being swayed; a few days to rest and step away from his worries would be good for his health. He had been waking up exhausted every day, and the moment he slid back onto his bunk, that fatigue wrapped around him like a heavy blanket. Time was wearing him down in ways he didn’t want to acknowledge, from the crick in his back to the persistent tightness in his neck and shoulders.
“Hey now, need I remind you that you’re the one who introduced that empath to me?” Echo interjected, pulling Rex from his thoughts. A slight beep indicated coordinates had been set, and Rex glanced down to see they were already on their way, with minimal delay to their anticipated arrival.
“Fine, it’s my fault. I accept full responsibility. Two days as punishment. That’s all you get.” Rex threw up his palms in mock surrender, while Echo simply rolled his eyes. Sarcasm—something he could definitely blame on the Jedi for teaching him. The thought twisted in his stomach for a moment as he realized that General Skywalker was likely gone, like the others. Just thinking about it made him feel nauseous, but he quickly pushed the thought aside.
“Some sun might do you good, brother. Got the coordinates?”
With a nod, Rex set the navigation system, and they were off for a quick pickup. In his mind, he could justify the stop; after all, it was to help a woman who dedicated herself to serving others—a sentiment he understood all too well.
. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁ ⟡ ݁ . ⊹ ₊ ݁.
In a galaxy rife with war, disease, famine, and every imaginable atrocity, being a doctor meant confronting countless unpleasant sights, sounds, and sometimes even smells. So when the rare opportunity to bring new life into the universe arose, Mae found it to be a beautiful kind of labor—a brief moment of light and hope that reaffirmed her decision to leave home and carve out a path in this challenging role.
Running away from home at such a young and vulnerable age to escape the organized crime that plagued her past was no easy feat. Funding her education amid the rising tensions across the galaxy meant taking a transport ship to the heart of the Republic and joining a civilian-based program dedicated to providing aid relief. Through various deployments dealing with natural disasters and minor conflicts, she gained valuable medical training. However, when war broke out and her deployments shifted to accompany clone troopers into combat, the nature of her work turned grim.
Many of her friends and colleagues, who had enlisted during a time of peace, chose to forgo their duties in the face of an intergalactic civil war. This left Mae as one of the few willing to enter dangerous situations to assist the unfortunate souls whose homeworlds were under attack. It also afforded her a level of seniority, as she became one of the longest-serving members of her organization.
That seniority ultimately led her to Ryloth, a battleground marked by one of the war’s most brutal conflicts and the regrettable reason why the Senate-funded relief organization was disbanded. The staggering civilian casualties in combat did not bode well for the politicians. Nor did it reflect positively on the Jedi, who had sent her off-world following a surprise attack that rattled their camp. After months of deployment in Ryloth's canyons alongside clones and rebels, Mae boarded the last shuttle off-world after things took a turn for the worse—a bullet wound to her chest.
Looking back, Mae carried the weight of guilt for being one of the last to see Master Di and his brave clone commander alive. The news of their tragic fate, yet remarkably valiant stand against the droid army, was what accompanied the discharge notice she received the moment she woke up after surgery aboard the Jedi Cruiser.
With nowhere to go upon her arrival at the Republic Capital—barely recovered from her ordeal—she drifted through the galaxy until fate brought her to the tranquil island of Pabu. As the sole doctor there, she finally found the peaceful life she had longed for since childhood, growing up among violent criminals.
The war had never reached Pabu, not until the deserters from Clone Force 99 arrived, seeking solitude just as she had. Even then, it wasn’t their fault that the newly formed Empire was after their familial unit. Once the situation was resolved—by means she never fully questioned—life returned to normal.
A steady stream of clones came through her clinic, rescued from captivity, seeking her help for their aching bodies and lingering injuries from the war. She aided in their recovery, sending them off to new lives. Yet, throughout it all, she never had the opportunity to meet the clone responsible for their rescue, at least not the one orchestrating it.
Aiko had arrived on the island with Echo after nearly a year of the Bad Batch settling in with the locals. Mae had only spoken to Echo a few times, as he was rarely around, often lost among the stars with his former captain. But as her friendship with the kind empath he called “love” deepened, it was only a matter of time before she got to know him better through her connection to Aiko.
They shared stories of their journeys during the war, Mae offering brief glimpses of her own temporary involvement before finding solace in her role as a caregiver. All of this unfolded over evening drinks, yet still, the elusive Captain did not make an appearance. Not that it truly mattered—he was a busy man, after all. From what Echo had shared, he was one of the kindest and bravest people he knew. Still, it would be nice to meet the man responsible for continually dropping new patients at her door.
After finally delivering a child following a grueling forty-three hours of labor, Mae returned to her office, ready to clean up and seek some much-needed rest. Yet, a gnawing feeling crept in—she hated the thought of inconveniencing Echo and his Captain. She would likely never be able to thank him properly, beyond expressing her gratitude indirectly through Echo. Knowing the importance of the work they did only amplified her guilt.
Fortunately, the clinic was close to the shared home she had with Aiko. If she hadn’t been so utterly exhausted, Mae might have recognized the sound of laughter before even reaching the door. Slipping inside, she tossed her glasses onto the table next to the entrance and quietly removed her shoes. The murmurs from the kitchen faded momentarily at her arrival.
“Mae, when was the last time you slept, hon?” Aiko's soft voice called from the kitchen, her gasp filled with concern. Not glancing in that direction, Mae probed at her temple with clammy fingers, finally releasing the clip from her hair and relishing the sensation of her locks flowing free once more. The tight bun had left her with a tension headache, and Aiko didn’t need to ask who had arrived; she could feel Mae's exhaustion rolling off her in waves.
“Fifty-four hours, I believe. Unless you count a lothcat nap in my office between contractions, then it’s twenty-one,” Mae replied, rounding the wall into the kitchen, her fingers shaking loose the remnants of her bun as she realized she had an audience.
“She’s alive after all... You can cancel the search party,” Crosshair smirked, leaning against the counter as he teasingly nudged Mae into the center of their small circle, a toothpick perched between his lips.
“Crosshair is merely attempting humor; there was no actual search party,” Tech interjected, adjusting his glasses. “However, I would recommend some rest, as staying awake for extended periods is unhealthy—”
Mae shook her head at him. “Thank you for the medical advice, Tech. I plan to do just that. I wasn’t aware we were hosting tonight,” she said quietly to Aiko, who looked up sheepishly.
“Something came up that I hadn’t anticipated, so the others decided to gather here. But we’ll keep the noise down if you need to sleep,” Aiko offered, realizing that disrupting her already overworked housemate might not have been the best idea. She silenced that thought when Mae shook her head again.
“It’s fine, really. What’s a few more hours, anyway?” Mae paused before turning toward Tech, cutting off his impending lecture. “Unhealthy, I know. But I promise I’ll be okay. I just can’t guarantee I’ll be my usual lively self.” She yawned, prompting Crosshair to mutter something along the lines of “thank the maker,” only to be playfully slapped on the shoulder by Kay, Leena’s twin sister. The pair launched into a lighthearted banter as Mae walked over to Aiko and Echo.
Surveying the room, she noted that most of their group was present, with only Hunter and Omega missing. Perhaps it was a bit late for the girl. Wrecker and Chori had left Pabu to visit her family, leaving her pup, Muffin, under Leena’s proud care as she chatted with the others. Tech maintained a safe distance from Muffin, referring to the mischievous creature as “a missing finger waiting to happen,” all while holding onto his wife protectively.
“Do I have time to clean up before this... something that came up, or—” Mae began, only to be interrupted by the door slamming open and Hunter’s shout for Omega to slow down.
“Come on, you have to meet Mae too!” the girl’s voice rang out as everyone turned to see a blur of movement, Omega enthusiastically pulling a man through the living room. At the sound of her name, Mae turned, only to find her cheek pressed against a firm chest—plastoid armor, no less. As one might imagine, that wasn’t the most pleasant contact after hours of delivering a baby.
“Oops—” Omega exclaimed, attempting to back away from the collision she had inadvertently caused by misjudging the distance.
“Oh wow—”
“Are you alright—” Mae and the former Captain spoke in unison. In the background, Hunter's reprimand of Omega faded away as Mae and the stranger locked eyes. She pressed her hand to her cheek, feeling the dull throb beneath it, then slowly lowered it as she craned her neck to take in his features.
He was tall, with a face reminiscent of the other clones, yet distinctly different. Mae was accustomed to the standard clone features, but his eyes seemed somehow brighter. The crow's feet at the corners of his eyes were slightly deeper, and his light blond hair was cut very short, forming a halo that contrasted strikingly with his tanned skin.
If anyone had asked, she would have attributed her lingering gaze to a lack of sleep. Yet, staring at the poor man hadn’t been her intent. Mae was all too familiar with the remarkable genetics of Jango Fett, which were indeed impressive, but she couldn’t quite pinpoint why he seemed so much more handsome than the others.
Rex finally had the chance to see the doctor in person, rather than through the grainy image of their ship's transmitter. Her hair was a striking shade of red—not the unnatural hues he often encountered on women planetside or even among his brothers, but a warm, natural tint. Despite her pale complexion, her cheeks held a lovely pink hue. The details that had been lost in the poor transmission blended seamlessly in real life, and he was hit with the realization that she was even more beautiful than he had imagined.
“That looks like it’s going to leave a mark,” Echo joked, drawing their attention as he stood nearby with Aiko. Rex glanced down, and sure enough, a small bruise was already forming just above her cheekbone. “Kriff, I’m so sorry,” he said, his honey-colored eyes meeting hers, noting the unreadable expression in her pale gaze.
“It’s definitely not the worst blow I’ve ever taken. No need to apologize, soldier,” she replied, trying to laugh it off. She looked at Aiko and Echo, clearly expecting an introduction. Assuming he was just another rescued soldier passing through, she was surprised when Echo placed a hand on Rex’s shoulder and turned to her with an explanation.
“Mae, this is my old captain from my 501st days. Rex, this is Mae—” As Echo introduced them, Mae felt a wave of embarrassment wash over her. Not only had she just collided with a man’s chest, but this man was Echo’s close friend—the one who worked tirelessly to rescue clones, who had saved Echo’s life from the Separatists, and the very person she had inconvenienced earlier that day.
“Pleasure to finally meet you, ma’am,” Rex said, extending his hand. She froze, staring at his outstretched fingers, encased in black gloves. A gentle nudge from Aiko prompted her to respond, and she offered her own hand, which was quickly engulfed in his firm grip.
“You as well. Thank you again for making a pit stop on the way here. I hope it wasn’t too much trouble—” she began, only to have him slip his hand from hers with a chuckle.
“Not at all. Happy to help,” he replied with a polite nod.
“We were thinking of heading to the square for some drinks, if you’re up for it,” Aiko offered. Mae considered it for a moment; as appealing as that sounded, the idea of finally washing up felt even more inviting.
“I might go clean up. I can’t imagine I look fantastic right now. If I’m still standing by some miracle, I can meet you all there,” she suggested, glancing at Rex to gauge his reaction. If she didn’t know any better, he almost seemed disappointed.
“I might do the same back on the ship,” Rex said, only to have Echo shake his head.
“You can use ours. No need to trek all the way down the island for a fresher,” Echo pointed toward Aiko’s room, which had a separate shower stall. He hadn’t had a chance to use it, as Hunter and Omega had dragged him around the island to catch up with everyone else.
“Alright, I guess we’ll both join you in a bit,” Rex said, glancing between Aiko and Echo before turning back to Mae. In the background, the group was gradually settling down, with Omega calling out a cheerful apology after Hunter's grumbled reprimand. Soon, the room filled with laughter and chatter grew silent, leaving Rex and Mae in a quiet, uncertain bubble. The sound of the front door sliding shut prompted them both to speak at once.
“Do you—”
“I am real—”
They both blinked, wide-eyed, momentarily unsure who would continue. Taking a breath, Mae let out a light laugh. “You first.”
Rex shook his head. “No, I insist,” he said, gesturing for her to go ahead, as if his encouragement could coax the words from her.
“I was just going to ask if you needed anything. I was planning to grab some towels from the linen closet, but I wasn’t sure if you needed anything else. We keep quite a bit of spare clothing here since Echo brings troopers through my home,” she explained, stepping toward a slight alcove in the wall. She swung the door open and stepped aside for him to take a look inside.
Rex peered into the small supply closet, surprised by its contents. It wasn’t anything fancy—just spare clothes, toiletries, and assorted items—but the knowledge that these were all set aside for his brothers filled him with warmth. It was comforting to know this kind doctor was caring for them as they transitioned to new lives.
“Oh, that’s uh—” he started, feeling a flush of warmth rise to his cheeks as he took in the sight.
“Take your time. I’ll grab a towel,” Mae said with a slight nod before quietly stepping down the hall. Rex couldn’t help but admire the ease with which she moved through her space. There was a natural grace to her, a combination of swaying hips and light footfalls that lingered in his mind long after she disappeared from view.
Shaking his head, Rex grabbed a bar of soap and a change of clothes while he waited for Mae to return. He figured it was best to leave more supplies for others. When she came back, she wore a warm smile and handed him a simple white towel, pointing him toward Echo and Aiko’s shared room. He hadn’t meant to zone out as she explained how to use the refresher, but the exhaustion in her voice sparked a hint of concern.
“Holler if you need anything, hon,” Mae said, turning to head back to what he assumed was her own space.
Trudging toward the room, he closed the door behind him and began to shed the armor he’d worn for years. With practiced ease, he undid the latches and set the pieces on the floor, then reached for the top of his black body glove, wincing slightly as he pulled it off over his head.
For a moment, panic set in as he tried to remember how to turn on the water. After a few moments of fumbling, he finally figured it out. The cool air brushed against his bare skin, raising goosebumps, but once the warm water cascaded over him, it felt like pure bliss. Rex couldn’t remember the last time he’d had hot water; lukewarm had become his new normal. The soothing stream worked wonders on his aching joints and tense shoulders, washing away the fatigue as he let out a contented sigh.
Still, he felt a twinge of guilt for indulging in such a luxury. The relief quickly turned into a sense of urgency—how fast could he wrap this up? Before long, he was drying off and getting dressed. That’s when he noticed an unfamiliar sensation. It had been ages since he’d worn civilian clothing, especially anything not designed for protection. Sliding a simple cotton shirt over his body felt oddly liberating, yet strangely foreign.
Returning to the living space, Rex felt a sense of relief without the weight of his armor. The room was empty, but he could hear the water running in the other room, accompanied by Mae's occasional hum echoing through the walls. He hesitated, unsure whether to wait for her or assume she had collapsed into bed. Given the exhausting work of delivering a baby, he wouldn’t blame her at all.
As he padded around the space, he took in the various artifacts that filled it. Houseplants thrived in corners, and paintings adorned the walls—likely created by a local artist. He noticed elements of Echo’s minimal presence among the decor: a few meager belongings from his time as an ARC Trooper, alongside mementos from Aiko’s homeworld. But what caught his eye was a worn white and maroon shoulder pad on a small shelf.
Drawing closer, he recognized the markings. It belonged to the 303rd, who had been stationed on Ryloth during the blockade, following the initial forces' tragic fate. Rex recalled Howser’s vague references to the legion that had come before them, and he felt a familiar pang of sorrow for the 303 and their Jedi leader.
Next to the shoulder pad lay a small photo frame. Curiosity piqued, he tapped the on button and was surprised to see Mae's smiling face among a group of troopers, wearing the standard uniform of the Republic Aid Relief. Though she looked a bit worn and underfed, her beauty shone through.
It had been so long since he’d crossed paths with any of them, particularly after the Senate disbanded the organization early in the war. He recalled Wolffe’s complaints about taking over their responsibilities after a natural disaster on a planet occupied by strange alien reptiles. If his memory served him, it was Ryloth’s failed first invasion that had led to the dissolution of the RAR contracts. Realization dawned on him—if the 303 had originally been assigned to Ryloth, that would mean...
“I like to think it’s important to remember those who have fallen, even if the war is over,” came Mae's soft voice from behind him. Startled, Rex dropped the photo display, guilt flooding through him for having been caught snooping.
“I shouldn’t have—” he began to apologize, but paused at the wave of her hand.
“If I wanted it to remain private, I would have kept it in my quarters or tucked it away somewhere. I don’t treat my past like a well-guarded secret,” Mae replied, bending down to retrieve the tablet and placing it back on the shelf, allowing the image of her among the clones and Twi’lek rebels to be visible once more.
“You were in the RAR,” he stated, more as an observation than a question, his gaze drifting back to her features. Her hair was still damp from the shower, and the mark on her cheek had deepened into a bruise. She looked utterly worn out after the exhausting days she’d faced, yet there was a spark in her eyes that seemed almost out of place for someone who had weathered one of the harshest battles of the Clone Wars.
“I was,” she replied simply, finally tearing her gaze from the memorial to meet his. He, too, looked fatigued.
“I had no idea,” he said, his voice quiet. In truth, there was no reason for him to know about her past. They weren’t friends; they had merely crossed paths. Their connection was tenuous, built on mutual acquaintances. He felt no entitlement to the personal history of a doctor he barely knew. Yet the knowledge that she had chosen to be in the thick of it all spoke volumes. It revealed an unexpected courage and strength he wouldn’t have associated with someone so small and seemingly unassuming.
“I would’ve stayed too, but the moment I woke up from surgery, they handed me discharge papers and said we were no longer needed,” she said, her tone laced with a hint of guilt.
“Surgery?” he asked, aware that Ryloth lacked the sterile environments necessary for such intensive care.
“I got the last shuttle off-world before the blockade went up. It was a surprise attack, and I took a shot to the chest,” Mae explained, her fingers gently pulling down the simple shirt she wore to reveal a pale scar at the top of the valley between her breasts. The sudden flash of skin caught him off guard, and he quickly averted his gaze, a blush creeping across his tanned cheeks. He instinctively rubbed the back of his neck, stealing a moment as she adjusted her shirt back into place.
“Want to know the worst part?” she said, her tone tinged with sadness as his golden eyes returned to her face, curiosity evident. “They just threw us into that situation. We made the best of it, but in the early days, we had no choice. When enough people complained about enlisting during peace, they eventually allowed anyone who wanted out to leave. Yet only a handful of us stayed to see it through. When things got bad, they tossed us aside, saying we weren’t needed anymore. I would’ve stayed. I wanted to stay. I—” She paused, noticing the shock in his expression at her sudden outburst. “I’m sorry. It was so long ago; being angry about it now doesn’t help.”
“No, I understand. More than most would, actually,” he reassured her, though he knew doing so would require confronting the memories he kept locked away— the sorrow of lost brothers, the guilt of surviving, the nagging feeling that he wasn’t doing enough.
“Survivor’s guilt is a relentless burden. As a doctor, I see how debilitating it can be. Almost every trooper who comes through my clinic struggles with it, and I feel like a hypocrite telling them to channel that pain into something productive when I carry my own,” she said, turning away to sit on the sofa. Exhaustion washed over her, and she clasped her hands in her lap, avoiding eye contact.
Rex felt a surge of responsibility—not for the root of her pain, but for bringing it back to the surface. He approached her cautiously, lowering himself to one knee in front of the sofa, careful not to startle her or invade her space. He had experience helping soldiers through shell shock, piecing them back together after battles. But he wasn’t sure how to navigate the vulnerabilities of a civilian, especially when he himself kept his walls up, just as she seemed to. So, he chose a different approach.
“Thank you,” he said simply, placing his hand over hers for a reassuring squeeze.
Expecting yet another one of those clichéd phrases—“You did all you could” or “You arent alone”—her eyes widened in surprise. “For what?” she asked, almost timidly.
“For putting up with all of us. I can’t speak for everyone, but to be cared for by someone who doesn’t have to be kind, who doesn’t have to be gentle, and who actually sees us as individuals means a lot. All I ever wanted was for my brothers to find their freedom and live the lives they dreamed of. I didn’t realize how much Echo was allowing our burden to fall on you,” he explained.
“It’s not really a burden, per se,” she replied, and he let out a reassuring chuckle.
“I know my brothers better than anyone. Trust me, it’s a challenge to keep them in line,” Rex said, grinning as he watched her snicker.
“Then might I inquire…” She leaned in conspiratorially, as if about to share a deep secret. Rex tilted his head to the side, inviting her to whisper. “Does that mean the stubbornness is genetically wired into you all, or is it taught?”
As Rex pulled back, he couldn’t help but notice the grin on her lips and the mischief dancing in her wide eyes. Up close, they looked more blue than the grayish hue he’d perceived from a distance. The recognition of her eye color didn’t diminish the warmth spreading in his chest from her joke—or from the way she was looking at him.
He couldn't help but let out a hearty laugh at her jest as he rose from the floor to take a seat on the couch beside her. Though he knew the others were likely waiting for him, he wasn’t quite ready to leave, especially since she seemed to be running out of energy. Leaning back, he rested his head against the sofa and sighed, closing his eyes for a moment.
Silence often made him uneasy; it usually heralded enemy strikes, the calm before the storm. Yet, he found the comfortable stillness in the room surprising but welcome. It was a relief to just exist for a moment, free from the burden of what came next.
He felt a shift beside him and opened his eyes to see Mae had mirrored his position, her head just inches from his. Her eyes were closed, and soft breaths escaped her lips, the tension in her brow finally easing after their earlier conversation. In that moment, he realized that connection didn’t always require words. Sometimes, you met people who simply understood the unexplainable parts of you. It was a beautiful revelation, and with that thought, he closed his eyes once more, surrendering to the tranquil stillness of Pabu.
. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁ ⟡ ݁ . ⊹ ₊ ݁.
“I highly doubt Rex would slip away without saying goodbye, especially since he agreed to stay a few days, Love,” Aiko remarked as she and Echo walked back toward the house. It hadn’t taken long for the others to notice that Rex and Mae were missing, prompting the pair to seek out the absent soldier and doctor.
“I’d like to agree, but Rex can be... quite driven by his sense of duty, often to the point of overlooking simple courtesies,” Echo replied as they stepped onto the front porch. He opened the door to find the lights dimmed but not completely off, just as they had left them. His gaze quickly landed on the illuminated screen of Mae’s Ryloth memorial, and Aiko gasped, pointing toward the sofa. When Echo followed her finger, he couldn't suppress a quiet chuckle.
There, side by side and fast asleep, were Rex and Mae. Rex leaned against the back of the couch, his legs stretched out before him, soft snores escaping his lips—clearly, Echo and Aiko’s entrance hadn’t disturbed him. Mae had slumped over, her head resting on Rex’s shoulder, blissfully unaware of her position or the fact that they now had an audience.
“Well, that’s... unexpected,” Echo murmured, gesturing to the door. Aiko followed him, stealing one last glance at the sleeping pair, her smile conveying everything that needed to be said. If there was one thing the empath understood, it was that finding peace amid chaos was truly a blessing.
To be continued...

this is something that I've been waiting to be able to share for some time! I wanted to post it when I was close to having the guides for dynaswap finished (which I should, very soon <3)
it, quite frankly, changes everything for me.
dynaswap has made jokes about stu and murdoc having sex before [Link], and it's been implied that stu and murdoc were going to start Getting Along phase 4-5 [Link 1, Link 2, Link 3, Link 4], but this is Direct Confirmation that had dynaswap continued stu and murdoc would have been in a romantic relationship phase 5.
I say phase 5 Specifically because of Something Else
this is the full page of a teaser that was released august 7th, 2018 [Link]
this was a few weeks before the official blog came out, so these are Very likely early drafts for what would have been phase 5 (stu's appearance Especially seems to be based more on his appearance in phase 1 than the design they seem to have gone with for phase 4-5.
but this is Also where we finally FINALLY got the uncensored chart for stu's glass eyes [Link]
the red "souk eye" was a gift from murdoc, given to stu in phase 5. both for the obvious reason of It's Name, And because the only images for phase 4 that we have Very Specifically draw stu without any glass eyes at all, going back to having an empty socket [Link 1, Link 2]
it's Also notable because all of those teasers to stu and murdoc's relationship getting Better that the creators posted Show Stu Wearing The Souk Eye. this is clearly Very Significant to them and their relationship, and you notice it Everywhere once you know where to look.
I'll mourn that we'll never know how this happened, how they were supposed to work things out. but I'm so grateful that we Get to know.
these sketches (and several others that I'll be sharing shortly <3) were sourced from a friend who used to be in the dynaswap discord before it was deleted. I trust that they're telling me the truth (I know them personally, and of course we Know the second image is real).
But it's worth noting that we Do have overt proof that the first image was drawn by paleimitatorz.
october 2nd, 2018, they were asked to draw "lovesick murdoc," and in response they posted a colored and slightly edited version of the image in the lower right corner !: [Link]
and something to note here is What makes it edited. All of the images that we have for murdoc phase 4-5 show him with one permanently white eye. which paleimitatorz specifically drew Back In when they colored this sketch.
I don't know if this was done to hide that it was dynaswap or to avoid spoilers, but it Is worth noting that they've posted edited dynaswap images before [Link]
I bring this up for reasons. Firstly that I think this is a slight hint towards what would have happened to murdoc !
his eyes have always gone all white when he's possessed, so there's a lot of Demonic Implications if one of his eyes is now Permanently white. something that I've speculated about Here in regards to a different teaser [Link]
the other reason why I bring it up is because I've taken the liberty of editing it Back to being dynaswap, just for fun.
#gorillaz#dynaswap#dynamic swap au#canon#image#lore#phase 4#phase 5#stu#murdoc#2doc#or as they'd say in dynaswap#studoc

4k video is so unwieldy for porn. If you don't raise the bit rate then it literally ends up being lower quality than 1080p video and if you do raise it then the file sizes get out of hand (sites like ManyVids have file size limits).
And to what end!? Nobody wants to see human skin in that level of detail when they're masturbating! Plus I don't even own a 4k monitor! MPC HC and VLC don't seem to scale videos down very gracefully, so it introduces a ton of aliasing when I watch 4k video on my 1080p monitor (this is obviously not an issue with other video players though and could possibly even be corrected with settings changes)! And people are watching fake 4k Hollywood movies (with 1080p digital intermediates) and thinking they look great! What's the point!?
So even tho I film basically everything in 4k I release most of it in 1080p (which feels like a decision I'll regret in five or ten years when hardware and standards have improved, but oh well). And most recently I've been doing this with an effect applied that does NOTHING just to force Premiere Pro to use software video scaling (because somehow the hardware video scaling introduces a weird image sharpening style of aliasing on certain high contrast edges that nobody else seems to notice or care about).
Only lately (meaning I've rendered out a few videos this way, but haven't released them, so I have time to flip flop on the decision) I've been editing videos in actual 4k and just applying blur to em. Enough blur to make it actually SLIGHTLY perceivable even when played back at half scale on a 1080p monitor.
This has the upsides of the actual resolution being in 4k (so if/when things get uploaded to streaming sites that reencode everything then it'll give people the option of watching in 4k just for the higher bitrate) while cutting down on most of the downsides. Fewer compression artifacts (since there's less detail). Less video player aliasing (since there's less detail). And I think the final image looks pretty much fine (barely any softer than the scaling to 1080p approach).
I feel like this is obviously a weirdo choice to make tho. Just outright blurring everything (which is distinctly different from skin blurring). I feel like I need to talk myself out of it.

Image Source(s): Pexels & DC Comics

Summary: Your actions from last night have endangered you. Will you be able to make it out of the mafia’s grasp?
A/N: Pt. 2 of @maybethatfanfictionwriter's request. I hope you enjoy!
Pt. 1 <- -> Pt. 3 (WIP)
You took a deep breath as you walked back from the bathroom. You looked down at your phone as you took your seat, tilting your head when you noticed that it seemed to slightly change from where you left it. You peeked behind your shoulder to see Sullivan still in a meeting with Montoya. A lump swelled in your throat as you opened a new text from an unknown number.
“This is John, your driver. I’ll be waiting for you out front in a gray SUV”
You liked his message before Montoya suddenly stomped out of Sullivan’s office and slammed the door behind her. Her nostrils flared as she gritted her teeth.
“Are you alright?” you asked. She glanced over at you, her features softening as she sighed.
“Sullivan just re-assigned me. And I was this close in getting a major break on the Marchetti case!” she scoffed as she stared into his office, the police chief busying himself on his computer. You frowned.
“I’m sorry,” you apologized. Montoya sighed.
“Not your fault, (L/N). It just doesn’t make any sense to me…” she shook her head as she walked away. You bit the inside of your cheek as you tapped your pen against the desk. While you were relieved that Sullivan didn’t have Montoya killed, the fact still remained: your boss was working with a major crime syndicate. You looked up at the clock hanging on a nearby wall.
One more hour.
Minutes seemed to crawl by as you filed paperwork and did other various clerical tasks. Your palms were sweaty by the time five o’clock hit, your mind racing as you tried to remain calm. You sighed as you shut down your computer and grabbed your purse.
“(Y/N),” Sullivan called from his office. You tensed, your body shaking a little as you slowly turned around. He motioned towards himself with his index finger. You swallowed thickly as you shuffled inside his office.
“Yes, Chief Sullivan?” you asked as you gripped the strap of your purse. Your boss glanced over at his computer, then back to you, his gaze steely with a hint of suspicion.
“I noticed the date on this form is incorrect. Could you please change it for me?” he asked as he slid a police report over to you. You swallowed the lump in your throat and nodded.
“Yes, sir. I’ll get it taken care of,” you said with a slightly nervous smile.
"Keep it together," you thought. He only grunted in reply as you shuffled out of his room and plopped yourself down at your desk. You quickly made the edit before stepping back inside.
“Thank you,” Sullivan said. You nodded and turned around. “Oh, and one more thing,” he added, his voice calm and slow. You held your breath as you heard him stand up and lumber towards you. You nearly squeaked when he held his hand out. “You forgot your umbrella here last night,” he said with a soft grin. You felt the tension in your chest relax as you took it from him.
“T-Thank you, sir,” you said. “Goodnight,” you added before shuffling your way down the hall. Almost there, just a bit further. Your heart glowed when you saw a gray SUV parked in front of the building. A thick sheet of rain drenched the cracked pavement before a sudden flash of lightning streaked across the sky. You shivered and opened your umbrella before stepping out, your heels clicking against the sidewalk as you made your way to the vehicle.
You opened the door and threw your purse and umbrella over as you grinned at the driver.
“Thanks again for picking me up,” you said as you climbed inside and shut the door behind you. “I’m sorry it took me a bit-” your eyes widened when you felt a cold blade held against your throat. Time seemed to slow down as you faintly heard the sound of the car doors locking while someone pulled a bag over your head.
“Drive!” a gruff voice behind you barked. The car lurched forward as you remained as still as a statue - your eyes wide and heart racing wildly. You hissed as someone roughly grabbed your arms and tightened a zip-tie around your wrists. You gasped when the man behind you dipped the tip of the knife between your clavicle.
"I say we kill the little bitch right now," a low, soft voice behind you lilted. You swallowed thickly as you felt him trace circles over your collarbone.
“You better not. The boss doesn’t want us to get the seats dirty,” the driver said, his voice deep and gravely. You shivered as you felt the knife disappear from your skin.
"Honestly, I wonder how you even made it into Marchetti's," a new voice sighed.
You couldn’t help the tears that fell down your burning cheeks as you desperately tried to think of something...anything to get out of this.
"Knock it off," the driver barked. The two men in the back settled down and shuffled in their seats. Your tears soaked the bottom of the sack as the space around you grew stuffier. You gasped when you heard something loud bang against the roof of the car.
"The hell was that?" one of the mobsters gawked. The sound of hail started to bang on top of the car before a roll of thunder cascaded down the streets of Gotham.
"Just the storm - don't be such a twat" the first voice taunted.
“Shut up, both of you. We’re almost there,” the driver said as the car slowed. The road grew bumpy as you kept your head low. Your heart sank as the car came to a slow stop.
"C'mon, princess," the second voice grunted into your ear as he popped the car seat out and roughly shoved you out of the car. You scowled and tried to flinch away, only to be hit on the back of your head. You yelped as he grabbed your wrists and dragged you through the cold, rainy night.
This was it - your forced footsteps bringing you closer to your demise. You heard the sound of a heavy door creak open before you were hastily shoved inside. The rain drummed on the roof above you as you heard the thud of their shoes surround your drenched form. You blinked as you heard the sound of a boat horn and seagulls squawking.
"The docks?" you murmured to yourself. You hissed in pain as a heavy boot swung into your stomach. You coughed and fell onto your side while the men around you laughed, their dark chuckles sending chills down your spine.
"Can you believe this is the bitch who nearly ratted out Sullivan?” one of the men teased as he kicked you again.
"Stop it!" you wheezed as a sharp pain ran through your side. Your heart stopped when you heard the click of a gun.
“Don’t worry, sweetheart…it’s almost over,” the first voice “comforted” in a venomous voice. You squeezed your eyes shut as you clenched your fists, your heart pounding inside your ears and drowning out any noise surrounding you. You waited for the split second pain that would shoot through your skull…but it never came. Instead, you heard the sound of gasping.
“What the fuck?!” one of the mobsters yelled before the sound of a punch being thrown echoed through the room.
“S-Shit, it’s Red Hood!” one of the other men stammered. Your jaw dropped as you laid on your side.
“What the fuck are you doing?! Shoot him!” the first voice barked. You yelped when the sound of gunshots rang out, followed by the sudden noise of more punches being thrown. You tried to scramble away from the chaos, your bag falling off of your head in the process. You blinked as the fight continued, men grunting and groaning while you squirmed behind a large crate. You panted as you sat yourself up, your head pounding while you snagged the tail of your restraints between your teeth.
The sound of something cracking made you flinch as you tightened the zip tie before holding your hands above your head. You squeezed your eyes shut before bringing your clenched fists into your stomach. You huffed as the tie suddenly snapped, another sharp wave of pain rolling through your abdomen. You gasped when one of the men suddenly flew over the crate and slammed against the wall, his gun sliding across the dirty warehouse floor and next to your feet.
You turned when you heard a new voice suddenly groan in pain.
“Thought you were so tough, huh?” the driver’s voice chuckled. You bit your lip as you gazed down at the gun gleaming beneath the red exit light. You slowly picked up the weapon before peeking around the corner. You gasped when you saw how huge the driver was: a hulking man who lumbered towards the vigilante crumpled on the floor. You furrowed your brows when you watched the driver kick Red Hood in the spine, the masked man grunting and writhing in pain.
“I’m afraid this is your last fight with the Marchetti’s,” the driver sneered as he aimed his gun at the vigilante’s head. You suddenly pulled your gun up and fired without a thought. The gunshot rang out through the large room as the driver yelped, the bullet grazing over his shoulder. You remained glued to the floor as you dropped the gun with a clatter.
The Red Hood quickly rolled over and shot the man in the arm, crimson spraying across the floor in a filthy splatter. You didn’t even hear yourself scream as the driver wailed in pain and clutched his arm. You trembled as you slowly sank to your knees, the masked man groaning as he slowly rolled back up and grabbed the mobster by the collar of his dark coat.
“Go tell Marchetti that I’m coming for him next,” he growled in a low, husky voice. The driver’s eyes grew wide before he quickly nodded. He scrambled out the door, his blood trickling across the pavement before he started the car and drove off.
You felt your heart drop into your stomach when the Red Hood turned his unreadable gaze towards you. Your chest felt unbearably tight as your knees shook.
“P-Please, don’t shoot me,” you sobbed as you shrank beneath his gaze. The muscular man before you rose to his feet as he silently stared you down. You flinched when you felt his shadow loom over you, his breathing ragged as he stood tall before you.
You blinked as he knelt down in front of you, his hands draped over his thighs. You recoiled as he reached his hand out, your breath shaky as he wiped a tear from your cheek.
“Are you alright?” he asked in a hushed voice. You blinked and raised your head ever so slightly. The sound of police sirens rang in the distance before you could reply. The masked man whipped his head around before raising to his feet. He grunted and held his lower back before turning back to you.
"Thank you...” he said in a gruff, albeit hesitant, tone. You nodded and felt your stomach twist into a sickening knot when you saw a body lying against the wall. You blinked and looked around when you noticed that he disappeared from the room. Your heart still pounded as several officers suddenly kicked the door open and filed into the building.
“HANDS UP! GCPD!” an officer barked. You instantly shot your hands in the air as they all pointed their guns at you.
Your eyes widened as Commissioner Gordon stepped through, his thick brows furrowed as he met your gaze. He slowly lowered his gun as all color drained from his face.
“(Y/N)?” he murmured.
