The primary reason I love the Greens is that they are so messed up. They are not perfect, they are not disinfected and favored by the narrative, and they are raw to the bone; they are real.
Aegon is as real as a devastated and soul-crushed father gets whose grief translates to anger and violence. Helaena’s silent inner turmoil and anguish haunt the Red Keep. Alicent has become a wreck as she weighs this tragedy the only way she knows how: against her own failed moral compass, holding herself responsible.
Otto sees his strings of power stretch and snap as he pursues the unattainable dream once more. Criston feels unworthy and consoles himself with the deception that he remains unsullied by still bearing a white cloak to his name, having been absolved of his original oath-breaking years before. And Aemond refuses to acknowledge any weakness or softness in front of his family so he seeks consolation elsewhere.
This green family doesn’t know how to process emotions, doesn’t know how to grieve together, and can’t find solace in each other’s suffering despite yearning for comfort. Otto doesn’t know how to comfort Alicent, Alicent doesn’t know how to comfort Aegon, and Aegon doesn’t know how to comfort Helaena.
Larys exerts his influence and puppeteers Alicent to his own liking by giving her a much-desired grasp of agency over political affairs. Alicent finds escape in undiscovered indulgences that give her the intoxicating illusion of control over a lifetime of servitude. Criston succumbs to the addictive drug of being desired and wanted on equal terms. The Greens live in a vicious circle of unhealed trauma, a bottomless pit of fears and insecurities, and a tangled web of deception and control.
They are wounded, dysfunctional, and forsaken, and that makes them so intriguing.

They mirrored the Job story
I don’t know if this has been said yet, but during the Job episode I was extremely preoccupied with the “sounds lonely” arc, preoccupied with Aziraphale changing, but I noticed something else.
There is something about that scene in the villa, where Aziraphale asks Crowley not to destroy Job’s children. Now, we know Crowley never had any plans to do this, so why would he lie to Aziraphale instead of just admitting it? Does he actually want to seem that demonic to him, does he want him to think he’s evil?
I don’t think so. At least, that isn’t the way I interpreted it.
I think Crowley was testing Aziraphale’s faith in him. He looks him in the eyes, he tells him he’s going to go through with it, and he watches his reaction. Aziraphale is on the verge of tears when he walks away, and when Crowley goes the opposite direction, you can see he looks a little disappointed.
Then Aziraphale finds out he didn’t kill the goats. And like that, his faith in him is restored.
So what does Crowley do? Just like God with Job, he escalates. He raises the stakes.
Next time, it’s the fire. The “are you sure, angel?” gets me every single time. He is looking Aziraphale in the eyes and asking for his faith, and Aziraphale looks back at him and this time, he gives it resolutely, firmly. Quite sure. And after that, Crowley doesn’t test him again.
It’s just so interesting to think about the state of their relationship at this point—the fact that Crowley is, relative to the rest of their existence, newly fallen. They’re treading this new ground, and Crowley doesn’t know where he stands in Aziraphale’s eyes. So in his own weird, definitely-not-trauma-fueled way, he decided to find out.

aabria, having just described that the parasitically-piloted actively-collapsing dead bear body the party is CURRENTLY STANDING INSIDE OF as a "deflated basketball", dismayed her party does not seem thrilled by this analogy: Ball is life!! >:(

I'd like to talk about "A Companion to Owls" aka the Job minisode flashback.
In the episode, we see Crawly repeatedly saying "I'm a Demon, I lied." YET every instance of this utterance is him appearing to do bad but secretly doing good.
Much like his VERY fae/elven-like double speak where he appears to say he wants to destroy Job's children, BUT when he adds that it's like how he destroyed Job's goats it switches the meaning entirely. Because he DIDN’T destroy the goats. So, he wants to APPEAR to do it, but not actually do it.
Back to the Demon lying thing.
We see him start this off with, "I am a Demon, I could be lying." But he hadn't been. He really did have the permit. But he didn't actually destroy the goats.
Next it's the children. He starts the fires and Aziraphale protests, "But you said you wouldn't!" And indeed, he didn't. He wasn't planning on it. But he made it appear that way.
Then we have a moment where Aziraphale says being on his own side sounds lonely and Crawly says it isn't.
Now... at the end when Aziraphale says being an Angel that goes along with heaven as far as he can sounds... and Crawly answers, "Lonely?.... Yeah." And Aziraphale sounds affronted, "But you said it wasn't!". We get one last, "I'm a Demon, I lied."
But did he? He then spent the rest of his time on Earth continuously bumping into Aziraphale. Becoming more and more his friend and companion and partner. He didn't let Aziraphale become lonely.
And in doing so, Crowley made himself not lonely either.
