oo this is tough. he's very much been relegated to a d plot at the moment so a lot of what he's been up to is really anyone's guess. BUT my personal thought is that he's working his ass off refining that data 😭 especially considering that he's the only one doing his job and he wants to keep those benefits.. especially after getting to kiss his wife for the first time?? oh his ass is SATTT. REFINING.

I've thought a couple times about the potential possibility of a betrayal arc for him - that at least seems to be what milchick is playing at by trying to separate him from the rest of MDR. to me, there are two routes that this can go, based on what we know about him. on the one hand: dylan is selfless. his entire motivation for going through with the OTC was because he wanted to see his family, but in the end he stayed behind and let everyone else get their turn. he's loyal, and won't put himself first if it means being unfair to anyone else. he also cares a LOT about irving. he wrote up a eulogy for him!!! he sat in that room with that melon carving of the face of his dead friend and he spoke to it because he misses him. his last words to irving were "I'm sorry, I should have listened."

on the other hand... dylan gets shafted. a lot. if I were him, I would feel like all my hard work was being made meaningless or not taken seriously by the amount of fucking around mark and helly do. he's frequently left alone to deal with the office whenever mark and helly decide to run off, and on top of that he now has HIMSELF to be jealous of, because now he's gotten a taste (quite literally) of his life on the outside. and he still hasn't been back out since!!! unless you count the ORTBO, but that was such a controlled environment divorced from any proximity to society that they might as well have just been at lumon. he has wants and needs that frequently get the backburner, so milchick offering these special privileges to him finally makes him feel like he's as important as the rest of the team.

ultimately, do I personally think dylan is getting a betrayal arc? no, not really. I think he cares far too much about irving (and mark and helly too!!!) and his mission to take another cheap bribe from lumon. when it comes down to it, dylan will always uplift the people around him with a greater goal than him, even if it means getting left in the dust. but it's not because he's stupid or a pushover, I just think that he's very trusting and believes that his friends have everyone's best interests at heart. and I think he's right to trust them.
