So, I really love the selection of Tim Walz for VP and itā€™s taken me a moment to articulate why. I mean, obviously, Dem bonafides, heā€™s sharp, heā€™s funny, etc etc. But everyone in the Veepstakes fits that bill, Harris was spoiled for good choices.
But Walz offers something that the other men in contention donā€™t that I think will be incredibly useful in combating Trumpism.
He offers an example and an off ramp to the section of men who felt like they were Republicans by default, and so support Trump by default. There are a lot of Trump voters who are full on obsessive, but thatā€™s not who weā€™re talking to. Weā€™re talking to folks who grew up in Republican areas, or felt their hobbies didnā€™t line up with who a Democrat was, or didnā€™t feel represented by their image of a Democrat. You want to see it so you can be it, you know? Which is why Harris is so inspirational to a lot of segments of folks, but Walz is too.
He served in the military. He went to a state college. Heā€™s your favorite teacher from your public high school. Heā€™s your football coach who actually cared if you were passing your math class. Heā€™s the guy you looked up to at school when your family sucked but this guy cared, and he helped you get out and make something of yourself.
Heā€™s the neighbor who helps you jump your car. Heā€™s your uncle who takes you hunting. Heā€™s your Dad who loves teasing you at the Stare Fair. Heā€™s you when he makes a mistake like his DUI and takes responsibility for it, and when he has the chance makes sure other can come back from similar mistakes. Heā€™s you when you and your wife want so badly to be parents and IVF gives you the family you wanted. Heā€™s you when he says ā€˜it had to be meā€™ and used his standing and power to protect vulnerable kids sponsoring the GSA at his school.
He gives the real life example to these men that they can be that football, fishing, hunting family man who wants to provide for his family, be that powerful, respected member of the community and use that power to feed kids in school. That itā€™s normal to enthusiastically work for a boss like Harris. That yeah those other guys are fucking weirdos, and youā€™re not a weirdo, are you?
That thereā€™s a place in the Democratic Party for them. That they donā€™t have to default to being fucking weird.
I hope those guys see this example of masculinity and goā€¦ yeah, thatā€™s me. Thatā€™s who Iā€™m gonna be.

Week in Review of 11/20
This week was the Thanksgiving Holiday so I didnā€™t get to the stories that I wanted so here is my week in review. DWTS had itā€™s Taylor Swift night which was awesome. Choreographer Mandy Moore was a guest judge. The celebrities danced pretty good. Jason Mraz got a perfect score with his Argentine Tango. Harry Jowsey and his partner danced a Rhumba to Taylor Swifts ā€œAugustā€. Unfortunately heā€¦

DUI vs DWI In Houston - What's The Difference? Which Is Worse DUI or DWI? - https://www.thehoustondwilawyer.com/dui-vs-dwi
Welcome to our informative video on "DUI vs DWI In Houston: What's The Difference? Which Is Worse DUI or DWI?". We're diving deep into the specifics of DUI and DWI laws in Texas, focusing on the critical differences, penalties, and implications. We'll tackle questions like "What is the difference between DUI and DWI in Texas?" and "Is a DWI in Texas considered a misdemeanor or a felony?"
If you're an underage driver, you might be wondering about the alcohol level in Texas that could result in a DUI. Or perhaps, you're curious about the consequences of a DWI in Texas for first-time offenders. We've got you covered!
We'll also discuss the severity of punishments for repeat offenders and how much bail could potentially cost for a DWI in Texas. Weā€™ll shed light on the Harris County Jail process and the Texas Penal Code's specific provisions relating to driving while intoxicated.
Our goal is to provide clarity on the DUI meaning and DWI implications in Texas. We aim to educate and emphasize the importance of safe driving habits. Remember, whether it's a DUI or a DWI, the penalties are severe in Texas. Don't drink and drive, y'all!
Stay tuned till the end for crucial insights and tips to avoid finding yourself on the wrong side of the law. Don't forget to like, comment, subscribe, and share this video to spread awareness.
In the Lone Star state of Texas, there's a crucial distinction to be made between DUI and DWI offenses - both serious, but different in their implications.
DWI, or "Driving While Impaired", involves driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, with impairment measured through a BAC (Blood Alcohol Concentration) test. The results of this test can dictate the gravity of your offense, the class of crime you're charged with, and the potential outcomes if convicted.
On the flip side, DUI, or "Driving Under the Influence", is specific to underage drivers (those under 21). A DUI charge can be handed down if any alcohol is detected in the driver's system, irrespective of the level of impairment.
In Texas, the legal BAC limit stands at 0.08% for drivers aged 21 or older, and 0.04% for commercial drivers. However, for those under 21, even the tiniest trace of alcohol can land you in trouble.
Penalties for DWI in Texas can be severe, escalating with each subsequent offense. A first-time offender could face a fine of up to $2,000, jail time ranging from three to 180 days, a year-long suspension of their driver's license, and an annual fee of up to $2,000 for three years to retain their license.
Repeat offenders face harsher punishments. A second offense could result in fines of up to $4,000, jail time from one month to a year, a two-year license suspension, and the same annual fee for license retention. The third offense? A whopping $10,000 fine, prison time ranging from two to ten years, a two-year license suspension, and, you guessed it, that pesky annual fee.
So, whether it's a DUI or a DWI, the message is clear: Don't drink and drive in Texas. The consequences are too steep to ignore. Stay safe, y'all!

HARRIS VP TIM WALZ ARRESTED FOR DUI & HAS LIED ABOUT IT!!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tim Walz was arrested for driving 96 mph in a 55-mph zone, then blew a .128. That's really bad, but just as bad is that he's lied about it ever since. He's repeatedly claimed he wasn't even drunk, and has instead blamed it all on him being deaf. But the court transcripts tell a different story.
Tim Walz put lives at risk, took a plea deal based on his supposed "remorse," and has lied about it for years.

Jay Kuo at The Status Kuo:
Thereā€™s a strange phenomenon occurring with the terminally online right. Ever since Vice President Kamala Harris announced that Gov. Tim Walz would be her running mate, many of the right have acted with fury. Theyā€™ve attempted to ā€œSwift Boatā€ his 24-year service record in the Army National Guard. Theyā€™ve called him a racist for talking about ā€œwhite guy tacos.ā€ And theyā€™ve dredged up a nearly 30-year old DUIā€”for which he took accountability and after which he stopped drinking altogetherā€”to prove heā€™s somehow not so perfect a role model.
What they havenā€™t been able to do is make any of this stick. And yet, Walz continues to draw fire, which could otherwise have been directed at Harris. In other words, Walz is turning out to be a shrewd pick. At net 11 points positive favorability in polls, Walz is immensely more popular than his counterpart on the GOP ticket, JD Vance, who is underwater by nine. And as they continue to rail against him, the right keeps making his fundamental point about them: They are just really weird. In todayā€™s piece, I explore some theories about why Walz brings out the worst impulses of the right just by being who he is. Then Iā€™ll lay down some political tarot cards and prognosticate about where I think this leads.
Politico Uno Reverse
By most identity measures, Walz should be one of the MAGA right. Heā€™s a midwestern white dude in his late 50s. He loves to hunt and is a sharpshooter. He served for decades in the military and achieved the highest enlisted rank of Command Sergeant Major. He was a football coach who helped lead his team to the state championship. And yet, despite all these identity markings, Walz in an unabashed progressive. He is for reproductive rights and an ally and protector of gay teens. And there isnā€™t a bigoted bone in his body. Itā€™s as if when Harris picked him, she played, as writer Anna Gifty Opoku-Agyeman succinctlyĀ describedĀ it, a ā€œpolitical uno reverse.ā€ The Walz card threw it right back at them, as if to say, ā€œIā€™m a guy just like you, but without any of the weird baggage.ā€ The MAGA GOPā€™s base is supposed to include white guys like Walz. But here is living evidence that they donā€™t have all of them or the best of them. Thatā€™s why theyā€™re so eager to discredit him, because if theyĀ donā€™t,Ā as psychologist Julie HotardĀ notes, then Walz will stand instead as a model of what is possible. On many levels, an appealing, white, male Democrat is a far bigger threat to their sense of identity than even a biracial woman candidate for president.
[...]
Attacking Mr. Nice Guy
For the past two decades, the GOP has shifted markedly toward being a party of cruelty, of ā€œowningā€ the libs and drinking their tears, and of being as unpleasant and in-your-face as they can be. That kind of behavior has been rewarded with appearances on Fox and other right wing media, fundraising dollars from the MAGA base, and a spot at the side or in the tweets of the ex-president himself. As author Patrick S. TomlinsonĀ observed, Walz represents what shouldnā€™t be an extraordinary notion: that you can be a nice guy, supportive of women, embracing of gay people, and still be all the coded masculine ideals of soldier, football coach, hunter and father that the MAGA right believed it had a lock on. Plus, you can be all those things without ever asking weird questions about menstrual cycles, chromosomes and genitalia. The right evenĀ tried to make a big dealĀ about Walzā€™s efforts as governor to ensure free tampons were available to girls in school. Rumors circulated that schools had been required to also put tampons in boysā€™ bathrooms, but those claims turned out to be untrue, while demonstrating how off kilter the right becomes over sexuality and gender. The ā€œTampon Timā€ moniker didnā€™t stick. On the contrary, there are probably many moms and dads grateful for a governor like Walz who is thinking about their daughtersā€™ needs.
Jay Kuo explains the real reason why the right is being driven crazy by Tim Walz: The fact that he has a profile that would typify a MAGA voter (football coach, military service, loves to hunt) yet is a progressive white dude (solid LGBTQ+ rights ally before it became fashionable among Democrats).

listen obviously Iā€™m sure there are bad people who support Harris too but I donā€™t think itā€™s a coincidence that the only hardcore trump supporters in my family are my uncle who gets arrested like twice a year for DUIs and beating the shit out of his wife and kids or my nana who is in a cult and also abuses her OxyContin prescription

Christian Slater became physically ill several times during filming "Pump Up the Volume" (1990) due to all the cigarette smoking he had to do.
During production, Slater had his driver's license suspended for the second time in two years over DUIs, and writer-director Allan Moyle had to retool the script accordingly. Lead character Mark Hunter doesn't drive, tells his listeners he has "no car, no license," and goes everywhere on foot.
The school in the film, Hubert Humphrey High, was based on a Montreal high school where director Allan Moyle's sister used to teach that, according to Moyle, had a principal 'who had a pact with the staff to enhance the credibility of the school scholastically at the expense of the students who were immigrants or culturally disabled in some way or another.
Moyle wrote the film without a specific actor in mind but his development deal specified that the project would be canceled if a suitable actor could not be found. The director needed an actor who had to have "glee, to be ineffably sweet and at the same time demonic." He initially wanted to cast John Cusack, but Cusack turned down the role, as he didn't want to play another high school student following his role in "Say Anything..." (1989). Slater met with Moyle and producer Sandy Stern and displayed all these qualities. Moyle has described the film's protagonist as an amalgam of Holden Caulfield and Lenny Bruce and the "Hard Harry" persona as a guy who "has to get credibility as an outsider. As the last angry man on the planet, he has to use the foulest language he can think of. He even pretends to masturbate on the air. He's obsessed with sex and death."
"'Pump Up the Volume' was a film and character that I really responded to. That was a movie about a guy trying to take down the establishment using a ham radio." (IMDb/Wikipedia)
Happy Birthday, Christian Slater!

With Holivia, it wouldn't be the circus show it was if we (team PR) didn't give them attention at all. I know there was an end date and it wouldn't have stopped them from behaving like clowns but at least we wouldn't have given them the satisfaction of giving them what they wanted which was attention. You know when I was younger and a child would annoy me, my mum would say "just ignore them. The more attention you give them the more they will annoy you. If you ignore them they will soon get bored and leave you alone." And yes I know us ignoring them wouldn't have worked on Olivia but it could've worked on Harry and his team. Do you guys remember how frustrated she was when every single PR blogs turned off their asks during Coachella night 1 and NONE of us spoke a word about her. I know you guys might disagree with me but for me personally, us (not this blog specifically just everyone in general) giving her attention kind of felt like she won. And I know it's hard and we all needed a place to vent our frustrations. PR bloggers have always given us the space to do it which I will forever be thankful for. Despite the daily abuse they got from shippers (and some even team PR) yet they still never left us. That's why I want to say we shouldn't let another Olivia do the same. Knowing how dumb Harry and his team are, I am very sure they will get into another stupid situation just like the holivia stunt but WE TOGETHER have the power to decide whether we let them manipulate us like they did the last two years or if we ignore them. I am still angry that Harry, Olivia and their teams won because we gave them what they wanted. That's why if another stunt like Holivia happens again, I want them to lose. I have no issues with Harry doing PR. It's just, does it have to be with problematic women? Why are him and his team so attracted to problematic women when it comes to public relationships? And yet we're always the bad guys for calling them out. It's like don't associate / "date" problematic women then if you want me to support you and your partners relationship. Don't expect me to show love and support for your partner who is a racist and a homophobe. Your partner who makes insensitive "jokes" about DUI. Don't "date" someone who supports everything you stand against.
Yeah I mean I agree to an extent but I also think it was going to happen regardless or not. Plus it's impossible to get every single person to stop talking about it. I tried and failed

there's just something about characters who die untimely or unfair deaths, that's just!!!! i can't put it into words what i feel for them like they stick with me for YEARS. rue from hunger games, mariam from thousand splendid suns and harry cameron from evelyn hugo IDK out of all the characters they're ones that really stick with me because I Was Not Prepared For That At All.
with rue it was partly that i first read hunger games at an age where i didn't really process it was going to end in 23 deaths of the tributes but even reading it now her death sticks with me most of all because she really was, in katniss's words too innocent, it was too soon, and so so unfair
with mariam...literally everything surrounding her death. her life being hell what with being poor, a cowardly father and her mother's suicide, child marraige and everything else that followed, it was too much she didn't deserve and that book haunts me even now
harry's came out of NOWHERE. like for celia i was so heartbroken but the thing is i was anticipating it and alright it was also that i'd gotten spoilers and i was aware something terrible would happen to her before evelyn was truly in retirement, but the thing is that I expecting it. harry's was so...like one day he and evelyn are discussing plans to move out of the us and the same night he dui's into his and james's death like?
anyway seven husbands of evelyn hugo just got me thinking and also i'm in an existential crisis help
