I find myself in the position of enjoying Slow Horses season 2, looking forward to season 3 yet being disappointed with it at the same time. I suspect this is partly as season 1 was so good, season 2 struggled to match. Others don’t agree — Rotten Tomatoes prefers season 2, so what does my opinion matter?! Slow Horses Season 02

Follows a team of British intelligence agents who serve as a dumping ground department of MI5 due to their career-ending mistakes.

Another good old-fashioned spy story. Tense, tight, not unnecessarily stretched. The smaller budget works as an advantage over movies, no boring action showdown at the end.

It took me a while to again get used to the way Lamb constantly insults his team, even if we know he deeply cares about them. Though some of the verbal exchanges are quite sharp and funny.

Seeing Oldman eating disgustingly is definitely an improvement over him farting all of the time.

I regret the fact that the ridiculous, arrogant character, who feels more like over-the-top parody than real, apparently survived.

I'm already looking forward to another mini-season.

BBC announces cast for major new drama series Dope Girls

Julianne Nicholson (Mare of Easttown) stars as Kate Galloway, a single mother who establishes a nightclub amidst the hedonistic uproar of post-World War One London, embracing a life of criminal activities with the dedicated aim of providing for her daughter Evie, played by Eilidh Fisher (The Power). This is where we find Billie Cassidy played by Umi Myers (Bob Marley One Love), a bohemian dancer whose life is turned upside down by Kate’s arrival.

Geraldine James (Anne with an E) will also star as Isabella, the leader of the criminal Salucci family that also includes Sebastian Croft (Heartstopper) as Silvio Salucci and Rory Fleck Bryne (This Is Going To Hurt), Dustin Demri-Burns (Slow Horse).

Eliza Scanlen (Little Women) will play Violet Davies, one of the first wave of female officers for the Metropolitan Police, who is assigned to go undercover and investigate the illicit world of underground Soho nightclubs."
