As promised, here they are. The illustrations @agarthanguide created for our collaboration are the main inspiration for the Duck & Cover fic. Now you can see how much I love a good pun hidden in plain sight in a title.

Sooo, the wonderful @abubblingcandle has inspired me to see if there is any interest in a Slow Horses Big Bang?

The aims - to help pass the time until season 5/book 9 and keep stoking the fire of our small but enjoyable fandom

The concept - authors writing fics of over 10k and collaborating with incredible artists to create works that link with each other

The organisers - me and @louisaguy two people who love Slow Horses and spreadsheets and fandom events :)

I will put more information under the cut (and this is just to gauge if there is any interest and is in no way legally binding so please share) but my question to you all is:

Actual Logistical Details

Time Period - the event will span approximately 6 months with sign-ups being sometime in early February and finished products being posted in August (ideally I would love for it to be right before s5 airs but Apple TV has not returned any of my calls)

Authors - You can write about anything you want as long as it fits AO3 restrictions and is about Slow Horses (TV show or books). The minimum word count is 10k (but like if you finish your fic and its 9k, don't stress). It can be something you have started already as long as you haven't posted any chapters on ao3 yet. Everyone will receive a piece of art with their fic. It will not be anonymised, so feel free to talk about your fic, share snippets, etc. There will be regular check-ins, but only for me to be able to help support you.

Artists - Any type of media goes! Video, gifs, edits, playlists, podfics, paintings, drawings, and fic documents. If you are not sure if it goes, then please ask! When you sign up, you will be asked if you are willing to create art for more than one fic. Please don't overexert yourself. You will also be asked if you are willing to be a pinch hitter (to fill in for any artist who has to pull out).

Other Areas - there will be a tumblr and a discord server but updates will primarily be email.

Most importantly I want this to be chill and fun so if you have any worries please send me an ask or a message

When @agarthanguide asked me if I was up for a collab, I immediately said yes. Her sketches are so expressive that this story just blossomed spontaneously in my mind.

Duck & Cover is a Slow Horses fanfiction in two chapters, inspired by two beautiful illustrations by her. My request was to challenge myself by changing the tone and the subject of the sketches, and she delivered.

In order not to spoil the surprise (the second drawing is quite revelatory), I am leaving the link to the fanfiction here.
