I finally got around to playing Boyfriend to Death recently and thought it would be fun to make some pixel art for it (it was, despite also being a lot of work since I haven’t made any pixel art in a while and tried acclimating to a new program). It might be a bit crunched by tumblr, but I hope not. Putting this on the more adult-oriented account for obvious reasons.

One of the few things I knew about the game going in was the infamous “Drill or hammer?” choice (not even specifically what he does with them) and I was dreading that. I guess Strade didn’t disappoint?

I thought it would be fun to make sort of a PC-98 style UI border for this fanart, since it’s pixels regardless. While I did try to keep Strade’s look closer to recent art from @gatobob I didn’t feel confident in trying to imitate some of the newer UI design elements from the remix mockups. Asymmetry to that degree does look cool, but doesn’t tend to translate well to small pixel art. For the decorative elements of the border, I looked to an official keychain design for Strade: chains, stinging nettle, and barbed wire.

I've taken 3 college level intro cs classes in the last 8 years and not completed a one of them. they've also all been for different languages (java, c++, & python). I am now about to embark on my FOURTH intro cs class which just says it's for an unspecified high-level coding language. which probably means python, I'd think.

anyways. all this to say I'm Really Good at leveraging if/for/while & basic array manipulation to do whatever I want but have absolutely no grasp on real programming. perhaps I'll finally remedy that?
