Dried Bread

At the time of Typhoon No. 19, I thought we would need to stockpile food.

I ordered it from a supermarket that had hardtack.

However, "We are not in a disaster situation right now, so we have not left it there."

The answer came back. --Isn't that strange?

We should put hard work aside in times of peace and prepare for disasters.

When a disaster occurs, there is a herd mentality and panic.

Come to think of it, during the Great East Japan Earthquake,

Enelope (a dry cell battery that can be recharged over 1,000 times) from a home electronics retailer

It was completely sold out.

During a disaster, electricity is usually cut off.

Wouldn't a regular battery be more practical than an enelope?

This is likely a panicky herd mentality.

乾パンを置いていたスーパーに注文した。

ところが「今は災害時ではないので置いていない」

との回答が返ってきた。――それ、変じゃない？

平時に��そ乾パンを置いて、災害に備えるべきに。

災害が起きれば群集心理でパニックだ。

そういえば、東日本大震災のとき、

家電量販店のエネロープ（千回以上充電可能な乾電池）が

きれいさっぱり売り切れていた。

災害時には、だいたい電気は停電するのだから

エネロープより普通の電池が実用的ではないか。

これらは、パニック状態の群集心理だろう。

i made the chamomile cake with strawberry icing from this post and y’all……………….it really is tasty

#peach stuff #ever since i saw that recipe three days ago i couldn’t get it out of my mind. i needed to know #and tbh it wasn’t that hard to make ? it was a bit time consuming since you have to steep the tea in the butter and milk for an hour #and crushing the freeze-dried strawberries through the sieve was a bit annoying - would probably work better with a mortar and pestle #but all in all not a difficult process at all! my cake sank a little in the middle and im not really sure why that is but i just flipped it #so it still looked pretty on top. no harm no foul #AND THE WAY IT TASTES……..its not a sweet cake by any means - the chamomile is a gentle flavor so its more like #a mix between a pound cake and a corn bread. and the icing is so sweet sour delicious that it helps bring a bit of sweetness while still #mixing well with the subtlety of the cake. anyway not to be pretentious about it but this shit slaps #i need to write down the recipe to save it - both of my parents really loved it too

#toasted aldi italian white loaf + butter + salt + garlic + thyme + rosemary + sesame seeds + sesame oil drizzle #just a little bit ov salt and all herbs and such dried #also by lightly toasted I mean crisply but not hard or charred #I will b the nobel prize winner in the category ov toast #the bread is weirdly good for $3 aldi bread

Double chocolate and blueberry loaf. Looks and smells super good, just hoping it tastes alright. I tried looking up a recipe for enriched chocolate dough and my eyes glazed over immediately, so I just winged it.

#i have made very few chocolate doughs and always forgot to add extra sugar so they were very bitter #i did add a lot of sugar this time so hopefully ? it wont be bitter ? idk its all looking good.#baking #the blueberries are dried btw bc we have like 10 pounds of dried blueberries #theres an insane and somewhat infuriating food situation going on due to the oregon government being the Worst Ever #esp re: giving people their food stamp benefits on time. i wont go into it bc it would take a while to explain and i am still very mad #but we have a lot of bulk food all bought in a panic which involves 10 pounds of dried blueberries #and im hoping they go well in bread #i do lots of bairin breac anyway which has tons of dried fruit altho that is typically soaked.... maybe shoulda soaked these...

#‘it isnt christmas yet’ ‘it has been christmas for h o u r s ur late’ sshhhh my timezone is law ok~~~#cheers to the last week of the year~~~~~~~~~#sometimes i forget that it’s supposed to be a christian holiday though… i remember going to church for the ‘mas exactly once #it was boring :( i didnt even get the little bread biscuit thing :( i’ve always wanted to try it tbh #only bc it sounds crisp when people bite into it. i wonder if it has the same texture as like potato chips or sth #or like those ‘toasted bread chips’ that occasionally pop up in the stores… i like the cheese bread variations #or maybe it’s crisp at first bite then turns soggy (like those potato wheel crackers) m a n. do i hate those potato crackers.#they’re all salt; no substance. the dried and fried onion crackers are 100000000 times better #ngl i had no idea what those onion crackers were called for. like. 90% of my life so i called them ‘suntanned keropok’#only bc my mother used to dry them out under the sun on bright days (or in the toaster when she got lazy) before frying them #since frying them straight away without drying made them super hard instead of light and crispy..#man i kinda want onion crackers now… the slightly over-browned ones were the best~~~~~#anyways!!!! free holiday!!!!!!! no work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#i’ll try to get ch36 of idol sengen up later~~~~~~~ i was gonna do part of it earlier but then i took 3 hours to finish my dinner sobs #not making any concrete promises though~~~~~~~~ all i want for crisisssss is asunaaaaaaaa #(asuna and… onion crackers… that is… aha~~~~ keropok bawang loml…)
