i don't really have many hills to die on when it comes to 911 but one thing i won't budge on is that buck's story within the show needs to end with him quitting the LAFD and being content with that choice. i just think it would be the perfect way to show how he's no longer tying his self worth to these external things like his job performance. obviously in real life it'd be different bc you can have that internal battle and come out the other side of it without actually showing it through your actions but as far as tv writing goes i think it'd be an excellent character choice to show us that progression in him. plus it'd have his character come full circle from the pilot and conclude his whole search for identity arc
