Hewwo as yall know this is my Rp blog where I do most of my bullshit with my scriblos!
It’s also my first time doing this so umm but a lil nice but aside from that! Here are
THA RULES!!! 💥
1. 18 to 21+ Rps since most of the topics that I’ll do are mixed but most of the time it’s normal. ButI want to be as flexible with the settings with the characters as I can but Mature topics are gonna appear so be careful! (Also I don’t want to interact with minors had very bad experiences with them)
2. NO ROMANCE, NO SHIPPING Unless ur a mutual friend of mine and we are consenting of this.
3. I prefer rping to be a semi literate multiple paragraph style. I'll try to adapt to the best of my ability but 10+ long paragraphs or short ones are a no for me like dawg.
4. I’m open to any type of roleplay! But please be considerate with me, and if there’s any shit ya want to pull in the RP we can discuss it in DMs for further details (so both parties can be on the same page).
5. I’m chill with Rping with Ocs! But I’ll start with a few Au characters and Ocs before I expand on more characters.
6. Please for Fucks sake be nice and non rude for fucks sake, I may take a while due to the bullshit I deal with most of the time.
7. Fandoms that I WILL NOT RP WITH: Anything created by Vivzipop, Celebrities/Real people, country/military shit, DSMP (Or any Minecraft related SMPs). And probably more cause I’m still thinking-
8. Series that I’m familiar : Megaman, Transformers, Pokemon, Steven universe, Digimon, Sonic, Spark the electric jester.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Character/Muses info-

Megaman X (Anchorage) He is a Reploid, a robot who can think feel and act on his own will. A member of the maverick hunters, he fights against mavericks. reploids who are a danger to society. He fights on and dreams of a Utopia of humans and reploids coexisting in peace. However he still despises fighting so at times he finds different ways to solve problems without violence. He currently runs a rehabilitation (a surprisingly successful) program of helping former mavericks (Who aren’t infected with the virus) and criminals to be reacquainted with society. Holding the belief of second chances, he’s currently married to Marty leader of the rose thorn pirate group for almost 50 years.

He is, importantly, the Youngest Son of the ancient legend megaman X.
Tumblr media
Xavier Light: Once upon a lifetime ago he was formally the legendary hero megaman x but now in this flooded world of no war, he is Xavier Light. The assistant of the renowned professor Barrell, aiding his research of Terra’s old civilizations. At the same time the Flutter’s caretaker, performing most domestic duties around the ship. A hardened yet gentle soul that at times provides wisdom and advice to those who need it, especially his youngest son Rock. Despite living a peaceful life Xavier is still a skilled warrior, but he would rather do diplomacy than fighting but when push comes to shove he’ll fight to the bitter end to keep his loved ones safe.
Note: Reborn!X is called Xavier and Anchorage!X is just named X they are are technically the same person but in different Timelines.
OC Verse:

Alice: Alice is a slime based alien being who explores the stars and medical assistance to those who are needed. A carefree mischievous individual who sought the curiosities to different worlds and what she could learn from it. Despite her duty she’s often dropped into the antics of others curious to see how it goes. She enjoys causing a lil bit of mayhem to entertain herself but still committing to her duty of supporting individuals on her travels. Often she enjoys the thrill of adventure and is surprisingly combative despite her status as a medic.

Early MCYTblr Interviews: conarcoin
today's interviewee is conarcoin, runner in the 2020 MCYTblr elections, founder of gay castle, mod on the mcytblr-confessions blog, and MCYTblr veteran! below is a transcript of the questions and answers.
Q: You’ve been in MCYTblr for a long time, and participated in a lot of MCYTblr events, so let’s work our way through them. Can you tell me a bit about what 2020-2021 MCYTblr was like for you, or anything that immediately comes to mind when you think of it?
A: 2020-2021 MCYTblr was a shithole, but it was a shithole I made some really good friends in and I don't regret that period at all. I regret some stupid posts I made, sure, but overall? Nah. 2020 MCYTblr was always filled with drama as it was a transitional period - it was primarily made up of what we now call "truthers" and the scattered remnants of SMPblr, and that sort of caused a culture clash. I'm immediately reminded of the time I got into a huge drama for having the url "transtubbo" in 2020, which one ex-SMPblr user was not fond of. Also a lot of posts made by straight up weirdos like that one infamous "sex god whore" post.
(the url "transtubbo" was not a truthing thing, but a DSMP thing, but this was a time when truthers were still everywhere in MCYTblr and the divide between RP and real life wasn't as clear, which is how I ended up in hot water)
Q: I understand that you started and ran the “gay castle” discord server. Why was it created? What was your experience running it?
A: Gay Castle's still alive and well after 3 years. Me and a friend made the server in September 2020 due to being tired of the drama in another server we were in called Sleepyheads. It's a personal friend server, so we just invited people we thought were chill to hang out and have some laughs. I honestly would call Gay Castle my internet family, they're a wild bunch and we've had so many great times over the past 3 years.
Q: What was it like running the mcytblr-confessions blog? Do any confessions stand out to you from memory?
A: mcytblr-confessions is the child of me and like 10 or so other members of Gay Castle. The experience is mostly mundane, just queueing and deleting asks. We do get a lot of asks that get deleted due to breaking the rules and such, but it hasn't been particularly drama-filled or anything. There's way too many confessions that stand out to me, but personal favorites of mine will always include the Foolish peas anon, the Highcraft church anon, and the one about AustinShow calling anon Greg instead of their actual name.
Q: If my memory serves, you ran in the October 2020 MCYTblr elections. Who did you run as? What was your experience being a part of it?
A: I did, alongside a friend at the time who went by Fakenoblade. I don't remember too many details from that period of time. We ran as "Potato2020" and didn't get very far but we had fun. Cecilia (bless her heart, we're still mutuals even though we don't talk often) can do a really good Technoblade impression, so in call we had her say some funny lines that we edited into a promotional campaign video. Fun stuff.
Q: Are there any other events that stand out to you?
A: The day a bunch of content creators joined in 2021, mostly smaller ones. That was around the same time I became friends with Erin (@itselectralive), who is still one of my closest friends to this day and an absolute sweetheart. She got me onto a SMP she helped run called Balls SMP, which crashed and burned, but I had fun and met some cool people.
Q: Do you remember any of the main discourses/dramas that went through the community?
A: Apologist discourse, obviously. I didn't engage with it - I honestly didn't care for either c!Tommy or c!Dream - but it's hard to avoid it. Shipping discourse and boundary discourse. Honestly, I can't remember anything more specific besides the more general dramas.
Q: What do you remember most fondly from that time?
A: Honestly? Just early Gay Castle and also liveblogging the L'Manberg Election. That night was so much fun, one of the most vivid memories of that time period I have.
Q: Is there anything else you’d like to add?
A: You guys should watch SMPLive. Not really, it's aged like piss and several creators ended up being freaks but it's still got a lot of funny jokes and interesting lore (believe it or not). From what I have seen, its fandom is the root of a lot of MCYT fandom's most obnoxious behaviors, but the people who are left and still care about it are really cool. It turned 5 this month!

Hello :) I'm Dream, the Admin of Dream SMP- which, I'll admit, has fallen into a bit of chaos as of late because I may have been locked in prison for a bit after the entire server decided to turn on me. But it's fine, because now I'm out and I'm able to work on regaining control again and fixing everything :) I've also been busy studying the secrets of life, death, and immortality, so that should be pretty helpful in doing that :)
And of course, you've likely heard some... things about me from certain members of the server, but I can assure you that anything you may have heard has been greatly exaggerated :) Some people just can't stand the idea of having rules to follow, you know? :)
Anyway, welcome, and I'm willing to answer any questions you may have :)
(OOC info under the cut)
This is a c!Dream RP blog, header by SAD-ist and icon made by me, and here is my main: @moondragon618 <3
This is set post prison break and in the same universe as my c!Tommy RP blog @haver-of-wives, and I'll be having them interact a lot so again I'll try to tag for triggering content :)
(also I Do Not support cc!drm in any way and c!Dream apologists you might want to avoid this one)

Blog info under cut ↓↓↓
Okay so what you just saw right there was me typing in character. This is a c!slimecicle rp blog! Uhhh slime’s typing is VERY hard to read so on every post theres gonna be the LEGIBLE version under a cut, so erm :b
This is VERY CLEARLY an au based on my own hcs for slime and q, so just keep that in mind! Slime is canonically using a computer to use tumblr here, so it won’t be formatted very fancily. Lemme explain some stuff about how this will work.
I don’t know much about much of the dsmp lore, so you guys are free to mention things outside of slime’s lore, but I’ll have to search around the internet for info on whatever it is. - He mentioned a voice in his head, that’s me. I’ll pop in from time to time to help him answer asks, so if he ever mentions a voice, that’s me! - This is very early into Slime’s lore, so he won’t know anything about anything after… lets say the slimecicle video titled “slimecicle goops up the dream smp” (go watch it if you don’t know when that is!) - All tags will be in character unless specified otherwise! - named anons can send in an ask including where they want to be referred to as being from, I’ll write it down and delete the ask! So now Slime will call you “____ anon from ____” - if you try hard enough, you can feed slime as much misinformation as you want >:] He’ll believe it! - Rp is sadly discouraged due to the formatting of the blog being an actual blog run by him. - If you wanna send in asks as other smp members, go ahead! There’s also nothing stopping you from being someone pretending to be other members. Slime won’t be able to tell you’re lying about your identity, just do it in anon! He will look at the urls of blogs if asks are sent without anon on. - Slime likes talking about how many bones he has. - slime has 300 bones - slime likes gambling - i like gambling - i like talking about how many bones i have - i have 206 bones - :D - sorry got a little silly there guh - im out of stuff to write about. Never started any rp blog like this so im hoping im doing this right :D

#VIXENSFIRE: An RP hub blog featuring both OCs and canon characters from various fandoms (including fandomless and original stories). Independent, private, selective. 18+ only.
My blogs may contain strong NSFW and/or dark themes, including but not limited to: Sexual content (including BDSM), alcohol/drugs, toxic relationships, abuse, manipulation, and general violence. Proceed at your own risk, I am not responsible for you being unable to curate your own space.
CARRD
Penned by Vixen, 21+, she/her.
Please follow all of the blogs that you are interested in interacting with, I'll softblock you if you just follow the hub blog unless you are obviously a personal blog.
BLOGS:
@luminovas - Singlemuse / OC / Original Fiction
@firefeesh - Singlemuse / Canon (Headcanon Heavy) / Pokemon
@saillfossill - Multimuse / OCs / Pokemon
@lunepus - Singlemuse / OC / Original Fiction
Tumblr media
-My tagging format is #____ cw. I don't do catch-alls or personal trigger tags. My NSFW tag is #( nsft. )
-This blog is anti-censorship and pro-survivor. I have no patience for people who are unable to curate their own RP experience without harassing people about what they write. In other words, if you are pro-censorship / pro-harassment over fiction, then the door is to the right (and hit the block button on your way out)! That being said, I am not a "proshipper," I am not comfortable with that term or the community behind it.
-Be 18+ to interact. No exceptions, I frequently write or post about NSFW content on most of my blogs.
-I hate RP elitists and you'll be blocked on sight. Whether you're a snob about graphics, mobile users, people who don't have English as a first language, or anything else like that. I don't care, you can get the fuck out.
-I don't RP with any blogs that don't have a strong distinction between mun and muse. Kin blogs, alter blogs, etc. I'm picky about self-inserts.
-I don't RP with muses from Harry Potter, Dream SMP, Attack on Titan, Hetalia, Homestuck, or South Park.
-Personal blogs can follow me and my sideblogs, but don't like/reblog my posts.
-Highly NSFW and shipping friendly for most muses (I will directly state if they are not open for NSFW or shipping), though I prefer chemistry and plotting beforehand. No cheating dynamics. I will not write NSFW with underaged characters, and I will not write adult/minor ships.
-RP is a mutual effort, and if you're consistently ghosting/ignoring my attempts to interact, I'm just gonna softblock you. I will not waste my time or energy with people who constantly ghost my attempts to interact.
-I only reblog callouts if the person being called out is exhibiting harmful or dangerous behavior towards real people or animals. In other words, I'm not about those callouts where the premise is "this person writes ____" or "this person ships ____," nor am I about the callouts where it could have just been resolved by communicating properly or blocking eachother. That being said, if I'm following someone who has previously been called out for dangerous behavior, please privately message me with the callout- and make sure it has definitive proof and not just word of mouth.
-I'm fairly vocal about the RPC's many problems. Such as misogyny, racism, queerphobia (especially transphobia), ableism, the mistreatment of OCs, the trigger happy callout culture, the many RPC blogs that solely exist to give the most toxic members of the RPC a place to thrive, and so on. I'll tag these rants with #salt cw.
-I'm picky about fight scenes and plotting is essentially mandatory due to this, unless there's a very clear premise. I'm passionate about stuff like godmodding and metagaming, and I will never have my muses kill, maim, or control your muse in a thread without permission. However, I will also not water down the power level or experience of my muses to accomodate your ego.
-Queerphobes, racists, misogynists, antisemites, ableists, etc. will never be welcome here. I stand with Palestine and other occupied nations, and if you don't then you can go pound sand.

A Letter to AO3, From a MCYT Fan
Around two days ago, the Last Life SMP fandom found the Last Life (Web Series) tag. We thought it was a symbol of change with AO3--did we finally break crack the code when it comes to MCYT? Did AO3 finally recognise MCRP as separate to RPF? Would all RP servers be tagged as (Web Series) now?--but we soon realised that we were wrong. Instead, we found out that it was a dead fandom's tag, and we had flooded it with works. We didn't mind, however--we continued, and there was no harm, no foul, since no Last Life writers told us to stop. Now, however, Last Life (Web Series) redirects to Video Blogging (RPF).
Perhaps we were too gleeful in cheating the system. I can understand the need to separate out two different fandoms (Last Life and Last Life SMP are different), but this entire situation reveals a problem with you: you are not listening. Your categorisation of MCYT as RPF is a pattern.
By changing Last Life to redirect to RPF and all types and servers in Minecraft, you are indirectly saying that you know better than us. You are telling us that you know better—in your mind, you know that what we are writing is RPF, despite our pleading and the constant clarifications made by content creators (Scott Smajor’s statements on stream, GeminiTay’s ‘role play’ label in her Empires SMP series, clarifying YouTube comments made by Last Life SMP members, Dream SMP lore streams being labelled as 'LORE'). In reality, you are not listening. You are being just as unwilling to listen as the fanfiction websites that came before.
It’s the same gripe we, as fans, have with your character tags. Real life names are used instead of character tags. TommyInnit is Tom Simmons, MumboJumbo is Oliver Brotherhood, and Grian is Charles | Grian. Technoblade's real name used to be on AO3, too, before he asked for it to be taken down. Instead of changing all of the character tags when he asked, however, you redirect those that don't include their real names to the overarching tags that do. You go through all of the effort of wrangling all MumboJumbo/Mumbo related tags to Oliver Brotherhood, without giving us what we want: searchable character names, instead of real people's names.
Instead, we come up with haphazard solutions. Fics are sorted underneath 'fandom collections', such as the 3rd Life SMP Fanfic Collection. Fics are circulated on Tumblr, with links to AO3. We retype the tags to use the characters' In-Game Names instead of the Video Blogging one. We type ships over and over again until they don't include the creator's real names; we use the tag 'Not RPF' on almost all of our fics or add disclaimers. Organising this is hell on Earth, but we do it, because that's what we have to to use AO3 for our fics, and use the tagging method.
This is a pattern: we, as fans, ask for change, and you tell us no. With Last Life's tag changed, it created a precedent: you will, under no circumstances, listen to your users. This issue is no longer negligence, and hasn't been for a while; instead, it is deliberate. The 'our' in Archive of Our Own is exclusive to those who aren't MCRP fans and/or don't use Minecraft as a storytelling method.
The solution is simple, really. Listen to us when we tell you to separate Video Blogging (RPF) from MCRP. Listen to us when we tell you to separate SMPs out as their own fandoms, making them all searchable tags. Listen to us when we ask you to not use the real, full names of content creators. Listen to us when we ask you to change and adapt.
Listen to your users. That is all we’re asking.
EDIT: I turned this into AO3, and then posted it onto Tumblr! So, no worries, AO3 has seen this message.

technoblade & friendship with the syndicate
aka 'techno and the syndicate are friends (real) (not clickbait)'
any sort of collaborative story-telling has always been my favorite, holding a deep place in my heart, whether it be through TTRPGs or written role-play or a group of friends making up a story. and i've made it clear on this blog that rp is medium that you can't treat like a traditional story's narrative.
the first thing i want to talk about is perspective. specifically doylist vs watsonian (shout to @mossesandmushrooms for pointing this out). watsonian perspective seeks to explain things from within the text, using in-universe aspects only to explain or analyze the story. a doylist perspective uses real world or out of universe aspects instead.
you can see where i'm going with this, right
because of the nature of the dream smp being role-play, it won't follow a traditional narrative. and because of that, it's hard to analyze by a traditional stand-point. having to rely on other people to be able to move a storyline forward means that somethings have to be explained or shown in an unconventional way.
it requires a doylist perspective.
c!techno has developed a friendship with all the members of the syndicate, leading him to have some fairly impactful character growth/development. there's been a lot of discussion about this, mostly centering around the fact we don't see that friendship grow.
but there's two issues with that.
the first is real life issues have clearly impacted the cc's ability to play out the stories to their fullest. and this has to be taken into account because it's collaborative. it's role-play and that requires all parties to be present. with cc!techno being sick for awhile and the mental strain of all the targeted harassment, they had to cut planned streams to be able to stay on track with everyone else. so a doylist perspective would say 'alright, we know this was the intent, we're aware of the issues in real life, and therefore can understand that inconsistencies will occur but we can fill in those inconsistencies taking creator intent'.
because we do know what cc!techno and all the others intend, we do know that they consider their characters friends.
the second issue is that their friendship has been shown.
looking at the syndicate as a whole in a way is kind of defeating the purpose. as a whole, yes, the syndicate hasn't spent much time together. but the syndicate is about people first and the people have built friendships.
c!techno and c!phil 'go way back' according to both of them. their friendship is clear and firm, built on mutual respect and trust. they have the ability to disagree without breaking their friendship and they each bring something needed to the friendship. when techno was being dragged to his execution, his first concern was what had been done to phil. for his part, phil risked his life leaving house arrest to warn techno. they support each other and both of them have clear affection for the other.
c!techno and c!ranboo also have a firmly established friendship. even when they were on opposite sides, techno and ranboo were on good terms. techno returned the memory book when he found it, him and ranboo spent a good part of the green festival quietly talking, and techno stopped to check on ranboo after doomsday. the two have bonded across the forest mansion trip and the mentoring stream. ranboo gave techno an axe, knowing what the axe of peace meant, and techno was visibly moved.
with c!techno and c!niki, there isn't as much. but there's still moments that are important and build their friendship. niki helped techno at the red festival, trying to goad others into revealing state secrets and helped cover for him when people became suspicious. when niki revealed she burned the l'mantree, techno cheers her on. after, niki was the first person (outside of phil) that techno approached and asked to join the syndicate indicating that his pogtopia era suspicion of her was gone.
and there's all the small indications from techno's character during the birthday stream. he spends time making sure that niki gets to speak, he's comfortable with them, they joke around. cc!techno clearly shows us what his character feels about these people through those interactions and with the way he looks back to them during his conversation with quackity.
so while out of universe factors have hindered the creators in being able to tell the story in the way they wanted, we do see quite a lot of it, especially if we look at the individual friendships, especially if we take into consideration c!techno's extremely consistent behavior and way of expressing himself.
beyond that, this sort of story-telling medium genuinely requires a doylist perspective because of its nature and how deeply outside factors can affect the creators' ability to tell the story in the first place.

Reading through some of your answers as well as some of the anons, its very interesting how a lot of the people on the smp heavily hinted/implied that dnf was SUPPOSED to be canon. Taking away all the shipping goggles and all, with how much it is mentioned and how many off hand comments are made about their relationship during lore streams, if George actually participated in rp I think a LOT of the smp members would be so ready to pretty much JUMP at the chance to create plot around the relationship. Tommy asking Dream about George, who he misses the most, Quackity and Tubbo implying that they have something going on, to name a few moments.
Personally though, I like some of the fanon theories that its actually George who is the God of the server and Dream is really just his vessel. They all pin George to be weak and an easy target, but come to find out his true origins is that of a god that was apaethtic until he found Dream who was the first human who actually caught his attention and overtime got emotionally caught up with him, completely wreck his enemies and really show them who holds power. Idk if any of this makes sense, but I’m just having major brainrot right now for this type of scenario. Love your blog Dreamy! Hope you’re taking care of yourself! Same goes to anyone reading this! Please take a break if y’all need to, drink some water, eat some snacks! Relax! Idk what you have going on, but it’ll work out in the end! Take it one step at a time and eventually you’ll get through it.
-💮
Hi! Yes, it’s all very fun to theorize about. If George was participating in the lore, do you think dnf would be canon? I’m still saying ‘yes’ because of a few occurrences that have happened and with basically just half the server joking about dnf. Either they’re just being friends and poking at Dream/George who have a crush on each other or was dnf actually being talked about behind the scenes among the writers to be canon? Maybe it’s a bit of both.
I like that theory, it’s cool. If only, George would participate </3

so i finally sent in my version of the ao3 support request
it's about the whole rp/rpf conflation thats become so rampant on ao3. under the cut for anyone who wants to read it :)
remember, send in your own support request if you can! and keep posting about this problem!
Dear Ao3 Staff,
I'm sure you've received this e-mail hundreds of times by now. I'd like to preface by acknowledging the mountain of messages you no doubt have to sort through, and by thanking you sincerely for all the work you do. I would also like to emphasize that this message is not malicious, and is not at all sent with ill-intent.
Simply put, the Video Blogging RPF and Minecraft (Video Game) tags on this website have become completely inaccessible, and it is entirely due to the Archive's refusal to PROPERLY tag those works with their actual, intended fandoms.
Right now, most authors use these tags to write works centered around Minecraft roleplay—the most popular roleplays are Dream SMP, Hermitcraft, Origins SMP, Third Life/Last Life, and Empires SMP. All of these roleplays are movie-esque stories that are scripted, written, and acted out by popular creators. Each roleplay series features its own distinct storyline, its own lore, and its own characters, with the parameters and worldbuilding that is set according to the intended story and the limitations of the Minecraft video game.
Allow me to reiterate: these are ROLEPLAYS. They are completely fictional stories. They are comparable to Critical Role, and The Adventure Zone, and Just Roll With It, and THOUSANDS of other popular roleplay stories and campaigns. The events in the stories aren't real. The characters portrayed aren't real. The entire lore that supports the storylines is, you guessed it, not real! The only real thing about Minecraft roleplay is the creators that play those characters, using their Minecraft avatars and worlds as the 'stage' where the story is told. Here are some video links of Dream SMP members confirming that what they do in Minecraft is roleplay and is NOT real:
https://youtu.be/mbCVBnx37A8 — Streamer Wilbur Soot talks about how his process for scripting the Dream SMP.
https://youtu.be/nUp1PqIJ4xY — Streamers Wilbur Soot and Ph1lzA discuss Dream SMP events and lore.
https://youtu.be/9ZnP9ey-8H4?t=273 — Streamer Wilbur Soot reacts to a fan animatic of the Dream SMP, and explicitly refers to youtubers Tommyinnit and Dream as actors ["They're all such good actors, man."] confirming that they are, in fact, playing characters.
https://youtu.be/6aWCgS3zjV8 — Streamers Ranboo and FoolishGamers and youtuber Dream discuss writing "lore" for the Dream SMP. They discuss fellow member Quackity's acting and storytelling, and give insight on their own, distinct storytelling processes.
So, we've established that the Dream SMP storyline (and by proxy, every other roleplay SMP storyline) is not real. We've confirmed that the characters they play are planned, written for, given lines, and do not represent the real streamers and youtubers.
So, why are these SMPs categorised as RPF?
Ao3 authors writing fics about these SMPs are not writing about real people. They are not writing about William Gold or Tom Simons or Toby Smith. They are writing about Wilbur Soot, and Tommyinnit, and Tubbo Underscore—made-up, fictional, CHARACTERS, a similar name being the only thing they share with the actor. Tony Stark fanfiction is not about Robert Downey Jr, and is not categorised as RPF. Harry Potter fanfiction is not about Daniel Radcliffe, and is NOT categorised as RPF. There are thousands of fictional universes where the characters are played by real people, and fanfiction about those characters is definitely not categorised as RPF.
So why does fictional Minecraft roleplay get different treatment? Why does the Archive insist that we are writing about real people, and categorise these works as being about real people? The Minecraft and RPF tags have become completely unsearchable, because of the Archive's refusal to make Dream SMP/Hermitcraft RP/Third Life SMP/Empires SMP their own, distinct, SEPERATE fandom tags. People looking for just one of those fandoms—or even just actual RPF!—are forced to wade through thousands and thousands of improperly tagged works to find what they want. And authors are doing what they can to make it easier for tag wranglers. We type out 'Dream SMP - Fandom'. We tag their works as Not RPF, and complain about the archive's insistence on using creators' real names in the tags. We painstakingly type out character names instead of the actors' real names when tagging.
(here is a google doc link where a Dream SMP fic writer discusses how other fic writers do this: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1OGh9OOI5zyE4DPOMBtXi6XnvzCt1O-lqeImbi_rHZZU/edit)
Authors are trying very hard to work around the problems the Archive's current system is causing them, and their voices are not being heard. Even when they DID mange to obtain their own fandom tag—the Last Life (Web Series) fandom tag, to be specific—the Archive went out of it's way to recategorise this fandom tag as RPF. Not only is the Archive refusing to listen to us, it is actively making things worse.
How can you fix this?
For starters, making seperate fandom tags for Dream SMP, Hermitcraft RP, the Third Life/Last Life series, Origins SMP, Empires SMP, and all the other no-doubt present Minecraft roleplay stories. Second of all, make seperate character tags for the fictional characters and the real people—'Clay' should be different from 'Dream,' 'Charles' should be different from Grian, 'Tom Simons' should be different from 'Tommyinnit', and so on. And finally, please follow the fic writers' lead on this project—I promise you that once this change occurs, writers will be VERY quick to reorganise their own works, without your interfence.
I understand that you, the staff, are very busy, and do an amazing job keeping this website running. Thank you very much for that. Thank you for giving writers a platform, for putting effort into keeping it running, and for maintaining it so well. But please, please listen to your users one more time.
I hope you have a lovely day :)

Early MCYTblr Interviews: mcyt-quotes
today's interviewee is mcyt-quotes, one of the first MCYT quotes blogs, member of MCYTblr since SMPLive, and winner of the first MCYTblr elections! below is a transcript of their questions and answers.
Q: To begin with, what was your overall MCYTblr experience like? Does anything particularly stick out to you?
A: it was fun, by and large. a good outlet for me to talk with likeminded people, and a good distraction to get me through my senior years of high school. i’ve been a public figure in a few online fandom spaces, now, and i think what stood out the most in the mcytblr space is the fact that some of the larger blogs were almost treated like mini-content creators themselves ? i got fanart a few times, especially through the whole election fiasco, and i remember there being incorrect quote blogs etc that i would pop up on now and then. i’ve never seen it happen on that scale before - it was odd, but fun in its own way. defiantly gave early-mid MCYTblr its own personality
Q: Speaking of the elections, do you remember what it was like to run in them? I remember that you won, but I'm interested to hear what it was like from your point of view.
A: ahahaha that was an experience. i fully signed up as a joke - i wasn’t very active on discord or very close with many of the other blogs, and i didn’t realise that my follower count was on the higher end of the spectrum, so i didn’t think i had a chance. just wanted to muck around and procrastinate studying for my final exams. things sorta spiralled though - i got hooked up with two bloody fantastic vice candidates (@the-royal-bat-snake and @sosigshoney) who did literally everything, and i also underestimated MCYTblr’s tendency to do it for the bit. i remember my campaign being something to the effect of promising a militia of arsonists, kitten genocide, cannibalism generally, and a total removal of free speech and thought ? and then i was elected and i was like ah fuck, i don’t have time for this. and then suddenly i was in the middle of some vast RP conspiracy that i was mostly asleep through, being Aussie, and very lost
Q: You mentioned that in the MCYT fandom, blogs were treated like smaller content creators-- how was that different from your other fandom experiences, out of curiosity?
A: so that sort of environment has popped up in other fandom spaces that i’ve been in - most obvious would be (and i want no judgement) the instagram DC and Marvel comics community, where i spent a few years running a large page. there were definitely elements of it - pages would get memes dedicated to them, etc. but lore ? i’ve never seen that before. i think it might be something about the nature of MCYT - aspects of the fandom, especially post Dream SMP (when this behaviour became most common) was built on mythologising people. not in the sense of worshipping them, but more so in the sense of fitting them into fictional narratives, just like the Dream SMP. and the blog owners themselves were primed to happily accept RP scenarios (something which has historically been seen as ‘cringe’), particularly those which blend absurdism and emotion. so the prison blogs, the election and subsequent RP, the penis SMP, the incorrect quotes blogs dedicated to fandom blogs (literally fandom-ception) came pretty naturally
idk, with more and time and reflection there’s probably something interesting there - Dream SMP was pretty unique in it’s time, and tumblr (especially post 2012) is a unique platform, so it makes sense they combined like that
Q: That makes me wonder, too-- it hasn't come up much before this, but I think it's an important aspect to examine: Do you think that large numbers of people (especially younger ones) being quarantined contributed to the intense/fast-paced fandom?
A: oh absolutely. it was pretty crazy to watch as a (semi) outsider. i joined the fandom in 2019, when it was Very small on tumblr - there maybe three other blogs i could follow who were MCYT related ? and then Covid hit and it bloody exploded. as i’ve mentioned, i was in my final year of high school, plus my town was only quarantined for a small period of time, so i didn’t really get that classic quarantine experience of having nothing to do. but christ, you could tell that so many people were spending practically their whole lives living through MCYT. and i don’t think that was a bad thing - it was clearly a great experience for a lot of people. but that’s why you had things popping up like the high school au blog dedicated to other MCYTblr blogs (where i think i was actually used as some evil class president or something ?? idk), which you would Not have seen in any other environment, i reckon
and i cannot stress your fast paced comment enough - every time i woke up it felt like heaps of astronomical events had happened in the few hours of USA timezone that had passed
it was fun - i felt like a long suffering older cousin at some points, but i don’t mind. thats part of why i leaned into the election RP - if i could be as evil as possible, i gave them something to have fun with
Q: Now that you mention it, it's really interesting how that played out almost exactly as it did in the DSMP itself! A less-invested party coming in with a cartoonishly evil plan and winning the election to be played off of in roleplay, it's amazing how it worked out like that.
A: ahaha and it wasn’t lost on people at the time !! i was known for quite a while afterwards as a Schlatt-kinnie, which i was happy to lean into. a lot of the plot after that was lost on me - it was my two vice’s that i mentioned before and the rest of the cabinet which really carried things, and i would just pop in whenever i happened to be awake to endorse kitten genocide or something like that then go back to studying. but i’m pretty sure it did continue to trace the DSMP for a while afterwards - i banned the cult party [silverfish2020], so they were pretty quick to form a rebellion group, while i just continued to make worse and worse decisions. to be honest, though, it eventually spiralled out of control - i was taking it so laissez-faire that i forgot some people were genuinely invested, and while i forget details i definitely genuinely pissed a few people off at some point. i remember pretty vividly at one point someone made a post where they said they were worried i was going to doxx them or something like that (?) and i was like damn, this shits more serious than i thought it was. so i arranged to have my character assassinated and noped out - i couldn’t tell you what happened after that (or, frankly, before it). honestly, if you’re interested in niche fandom history though there’s probably something interesting in what went down - worth looking into if you’re bored
Q: Do you remember any other 'Big MCYTblr events'? It's alright if you don't remember what happened during them-- if you can't recall, I'll use them to ask around for people who participated!
A: i don’t rlly remember any other events…i know they happened, but i really had no interest in getting involved beyond answering whatever asks i would get about them. the election from memory was the first Big one (unless prom was first ? idk they were close together) and after that i was very happy to let Quotes as a character die, and i mostly ignored them
plus, it was about that time i started leaving the fandom - maybe a month or so later. by that point the community was Big, and moving fast, and a lot of drama had begun to leak in. you’ve covered some of the controversial blogs etc, and while i didn’t care about them personally they were indicative that the fandom space was different. combine that with me moving out of home and starting university, and i pretty much shut the blog down
Q: What led you to create the mcyt-quotes blog in the first place?
A: ummm i reckon just to have somewhere to talk about minecraft monday. there wasn’t a very dedicated fan base, and fuck knows i wasn’t gonna be talking about minecraft irl in a public aussie high school (i don’t have a death wish) so it just gave me somewhere to collect my thoughts. nothing interesting 🤷‍♀️
Q: Now that you mention it-- what are some of your most memorable moments from Minecraft Monday, whether from creators or the fandom?
A: ahhhhh there were some good ones. the fandom was deeply toxic during minecraft monday, but in a fun way - it felt sorta like following a sport more than anything. a niche reference here, but it felt the same as being a fan of australia’s soccer leagues - everyone hates each other, the organisers are greedy pricks who have no idea what’s going on, and there’s a new, entirely avoidable catastrophe happening every week. i think top moments include: the /top incident, where the fandom was divided after a scandal where Techno used an exploit to beat Vikkstar in an arena game; the a6d beef, where a6d was banned for not having enough viewers and then snuck back in and got into twitter drama with Keemstar; the week were Carson tried to sabotage Techno, leading to some of the most awkward moments possible and resulting in a lot of hate for the guy when he was otherwise still popular; week 7, where literally everything that could be broken was broken; James Charles getting adopted by the Minecraft community after his first cancelling but before everything that went down afterwards; and week 14, where a hacker griefed the arena, destroyed the event, and then accidentally doxxed himself while streaming it all. a fitting end
the main outlet for MCYT back then was actually reddit - there was a very active MCM subreddit which had a ton of statistics etc. the fandom was very into statistics back then, and actually analysing who would be a threat. that increased even more when serious esports players were added to the mix, like XQC and T1yler. they brought the toxic sweaty gamer energy to the competition, and the MC youtubers generally found them hilarious
it’s actually funny how much the vibe of the fandom changes depending on what’s most popular - MCM felt like sports fans, SMPEarth felt like historians, and DSMP was a giant role play arena
Q: Were you a part of the subreddit? (And, if so-- was it any different from MCYT Tumblr?)
A: yeah, i was crazy active on that subreddit !! i was always rooting for either Techno, Schlatt, or James Charles - Techno because he permanently dominated, Schlatt cause i was a casual SMPLive fan, and JC for the meme - and because at the time he was pretty widely accepted, since people loved that he genuinely seemed to get into the competition. funnily, the only time i’ve seen this competitive energy recreated was in the Techno vs Dream duel (which i also got way too competitive about). MCM was the first serious introduction of old school MC youtubers to the new generation - it was fun seeing all the classics slowly come around to Techno when they realised he wasn’t a sweat he was just good, or seeing them try to navigate conversations with the SMPLive gang when the old guard was still trying to be family friendly. the best week was actually Week 14, when a collection of old MCYTbers and new MCYTbers (and James Charles) decided fuck it and went to play on Hypixel for a few hours. it was great. i was also, later, very active on the SMPEarth wiki (the main hub for the fandom in those days) - that place is a gem to this day, and i’m not just saying that because i wrote far too much of it
Q: As time went on, did you see the culture of the fandom shift? What was it like to watch?
A: it shifted a Lot between different phases. even the demographic changed, at different points. you would be hard pressed to imagine that the fans of SMPLive were the same as DSMP, even though there was overlap in creators. even something more recent, like SMPEarth to DSMP - totally different vibe. you can see aspects that influenced each other, though - for example, the SMPE fandom’s obsession with making flags for different factions and putting factions at war with each other absolutely led into the establishment of L’Manburg. then Eret had his betrayal moment, and it turned from SMPE style war roleplay (which you would have on SMPLive, even, for example with the Stal conflict) to actual personal role play, where there were characters separate from the content creators. that division had never been identified before. that was when u started to see a lot of the mainstay parts of today’s fandom pop up - e.g. the c! vs cc! shorthand, or the constant division of content creators onto duos or other groups, and (of course) the shipping debates started up. they had always been there, especially in the Dream side of the fandom (which evolved spiritually from the Skeppy side, imo, which had similar debates) but they Really blew up with DSMP
that’s sort of when i stepped out - nothing against that style of fandom, it’s just not for me
Q: I've heard a lot of people who were in 2019-2020 MCYTblr say that the fandom was a lot more close-knit during that time-- was that your experience of it, too?
A: very much so. it was inevitable, we were a small bunch. i wouldn’t go so far as to say that everyone knew everyone, but everyone definitely had a mutual friend. i mean, hell, even connections to the creators were common - a lot of people on stuff like love or host were fans themselves. of course, looking back at the way that power was abused by certain creators paints it in a different light, but at the time it was fun
Q: Are there any fandom in-jokes, copypastas, running bits, or anything similar that you can remember from your time in the fandom?
A: too many to name. most of them id get in my inbox and just be confused, tbh, like the Kroger anon or some of the kinnies. i’ll try to go through some pre-DSMP era ones from the top of my head. the Hey Wilbur copypasta was cursed, as was SMPRompa (which i actually read the first couple chapters of, out of morbid curiosity. it was an experience). Stal, of course, was iconic in its time, as was the cuck shed. there was Keemstar being referred to as a gnome, his beef with the Skeppy gang, the ‘I could kiss you’ incident, ‘Hey Technoblade’. Jschlatt’s love or host bit where he was a closeted, deeply christian man made the rounds. Technoplane, of course. the Carson crying meme, and Gumball killing James Charles. Petezahutt dropping MCM to spite Keemstar, and Keemstar lying about it. ‘Preston is rusty’ was a classic MCM era meme, after the two fucking dominated. the sheer amount of times MCM got hacked was a bit of an in-joke, as was who actually won week 7 (to this day we didn’t know)
Q: Alright, and last one! Is there anything else you can remember/want archived, or any comments about MCYTblr as a whole?
A: ummmm i don’t think so ! i’ve said pretty much everything that immediately comes to mind. definitely an interesting fandom - one of the most unique i’ve seen. i appreciate your account a lot ! it’s funny to see old posts pop up again

Note
What fandom are you in exactly, and how does one get into it? Everything you reblog looks really cool and I’d like to understand it-
Okay- so it’s really really complicated but it’s called Minecraft Youtube (MCYT) though most things actually take part on Twitch tbh.
uhhh more info under the cut
DSMP (DreamSMP/DTeamSMP)
A political roleplay SMP (Survival Multiplayer) that mostly focuses on the ongoing of a country called L’manburg/Manburg/Pogtopia. Badlands, The SMP, Manifold Land, and (i think) Mexico are all also countries on the SMP.
We’re currently on Season 2, in which the main focus seems to be on Tommy and Tubbo’s failing friendship and how it’s affecting the country. But idk i haven’t gotten the chance to watch any S2 streams yet qwq.
My favorite CCs (content creators) on the SMP are:
-Fundy -ConnorEatsPants -WilburSoot -TommyInnit -Philza -Ranboo -KarlJacobs
but there’s a lot of members on it to, and I’d reccomend [this] playlist to get you caught up.
You should also choose a CC to stick with throughout most of the notable events (I’m usually in Wilbur’s chat but since he’s dead now I’ll prolly stick with either Tommy or Fundy since Connor isn’t big on RP, though Ranboo might be a good choice, especially for a beginner).
For mostly just good vibes I’d reccomend Eret or Nikki. Connor doesn’t take part in the wars much but his chat has a whole different culture and is (jokingly) hostile to newbies to Twitch and his streams.
here’s some animations incase you wanna support the community [x] [x] [x] [x] [x]
Another benefit is the goldmine of LGBTQ relationships and characters. Fundy, Sapnap, Karl, Quackity and Dream’s characters are all canonically MLM, Fundy and Dream are engaged and Sapnap, Karl, and Quackity are in a polycule :). Eret, Niki, Karl and CaptainPuffy are all queer IRL. Eret is bi, Nikki is bi, I’m not totally sure about Puffy but I know she’s into girls at least, and Karl is somewhere on the aspec. Puffy and Niki’s chara’s are dating :). OH and Fundy’s chara is conontically FTM trans :D
SBI & Affiliates
Wilbur, Techno, Phil, & Tommy are the official members, but Tubbo, Smajor, Nikki, Fundy, and a few others are often shoehorned in with them.
Mostly you’ll find SBI&A members together during MCC and Among Us streams, and those that are on the SMP will interact there. They’re all really fun :)
Dream Team (and the Muffinteers/Munchy)
Dream, Sapnap, GeorgeNotFound are the DTeam, BBH and Antfrost are part of the Muffinteers and Callahan, Ponk, Punz, and VelvetisCake are part of a group I like to call Munchy, despite the fact that only Callahan (from what I remember) is staff on Munchy.MC (Bad’s server). Mostly chill content but the DTeam’s twitch chat (and streams) are absolute garbage. Don’t watch it’s really bad.
iDots
if “YEAHAHEYAYHAHY!!!!!!@@@@!&@*YEAHGGG” made a sound and then you took that sound and you put the essence of that sound into a bunch of 20 yr old MCYTers than you’d have the iDots.
They technically have an official member list but no one gives a fuck. The members are Skeppy, Zelkam, Vurb, Finn, Spifey, BBH, and Harvey/TapL. Chaotic content but we love it <3
Hermitcraft
i haven’t watched it in forever but it’s an SMP w/ redstoners and builders. There’s a little RP but tbh im just there for team ZIT (when im there)
I love it but its hard to keep up with :)
TiredYT
Bedwars yters!! there’s a lot nd I love them all :DDD Purpled, GB80 nd Astelic are my faves tho u should watch them xoxo
And then there’s a lot of misc. yters that you’ll find through your recommended eventually. Don’t be shy or feel silly clicking on a MC video :) we all caved at one point :L
blogs you should totally absolutely follow:
@f4c3 @beacon-lamp @minecrafttubeyou @wooteena @gayminecraftmen @4oh3dotzip @fruitberrys @facadecake @tabzanite @imgns @wormweeb @hahasimp @kermiekermie @heyltsflo :DDD

guys: pearl just said that she doesn’t want her real name out there, and wants to keep it “moderately private.” she also thinks that those ‘real face hermit’ videos break boundaries sometimes (”why do you want to know that? you don’t need to know that.”)
