me, when Jonny Sims appears in any piece of media he's been part of: oh hey. what's Jonny Sims doing in this piece of media I started consuming solely because Jonny Sims was in it.

“Do you believe in destiny? That even the powers of time can be altered for a single purpose? That the luckiest man who walks on this earth is the one who finds… true love?”
― Bram Stoker, Dracula.
I'm very happy with my new copy of Dracula, it's very stunning. 🖤

Casually talking between us this morning, and we’ve decided that the Demeter chapter in Dracula is basically Victorian Among Us.
Just add a heaped serving of visceral dread and paranoia, bad weather, and a huge ship you are increasingly certain is too big, too unwieldy, no longer familiar to you…

I seem to have slipped, and dropped some links to books related to the upcoming canto
[Spain, 1605 & 1615] The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha//Don Quixote; Written by Miguel de Cervantes: I shouldnt need to explain how this one is related. Gutenburg; Wikisource; Wikisource (es.);
[1797] The Bride of Corinth: Written by Geothe Gutenburg; Wikisource; Public Library (UK)
[Ireland, 1872] Carmilla: written by Sheridan Le Fanu The story follows a young woman being preyed upon by a lesbian vampire~ Gutenburg ;Wikisource;
[England, 1897] Dracula: Written by Baum Stoker. This is probably the most famous vampire novel/character aside from maybe twilight Gutenburg ;Wikisource

Every time I see anybody mention Jonathan Harker it fills me with joy. I am a very big Jonathan Harker fan.

I've picked a wild garlic flower and placed it between the pages of Sep 11th (when Van Helsing gives Lucy the wild garlic flowers), so I will find (hopefully) a pressed garlic flower between the pages when we get to that entry. I've never pressed a flower before so I don't know if I'm doing it right or if it will work: wish me luck! I'll update you when we get to that entry

Mina thinks she's in a period drama. Jonathan is slowly but surely coming to terms with the fact that he's in a horror film

Day 20: Three Brides
Not sure if this theme was referring to Dracula, but it reminded me of the vampire "sisters" of the Castle

Jonathan being willing to follow Mina wherever she goes. Even if she becomes a monster completely divorced from her orginal self, he will become a monster to be with her. They make me unwell
