A young boy who is a bomberman.

伝説のボンバーマンと称された兄、マイティに悩れ、ジェッターズの一員となる。

He was troubled by his older brother, Mighty, who was called the legendary Bomberman, and became a member of the Jetters.

明るく朗らかな性格だが、まだまだ頼りない一面も。しかし、心の奥には熱い間志を秘めている。

He has a bright and cheerful personality, but he’s quite unreliable. However, he has a passionate ambition deep in his heart.

Bongo

ドドンバ星人。

An alien from Planet Dodonpa.

普段はボーっとしているように見えるが、キャラボンの匂いを感知する特殊能力がある。

He usually seems to be in a daze, but he has a special ability to sense the smell of Kyarabon.

メカに強く、宇宙船から電子レンジまで何でも直してしまう。カレーが大好きな大食演。

He’s smart with mechanics, and fixes anything from spaceships to microwave ovens. He loves curry.

Unpopular Opinion about: Jetter Mars

Honestly when I saw this I squealed because I didn't expect anyone to send one in for this niche series, and then I felt immediate dread because I do in fact have an unpopular opinion and it's one that the incredibly small fandom likely will not want to hear, at all, ever.

My unpopular opinion is... that Dr. Yamanoue was abusive and Mars being removed from his care (due to his 'death') was the best thing for Mars and his development.

Even though through raising Mars he began to soften around him and did love him at 'the end' he still did multiple things that raise a lot of red flags including; intentionally building him as a weapon for warfare in the first place, isolating him from social interaction, grabbing his manga and shredding it, teaching him toxic masculinity including 'boys don't cry', ERASING parts of Mars's memory instead of dealing with the trauma associated with the dog incident (which is a complete lack of bodily autonomy for Mars and if he did it once who knows how many other times he would have or did), screaming, yelling, insults him etc etc etc.

Yes, he's a walking beanpole of chaos and it's funny to see him dodge death, yes we're not supposed to take this as seriously because this is a child's show from the sprocking 70s with no English adaptation, yes this is typical of anime story-telling etc etc but I feel like the fandom sort of sweeps some of this aside.

However, I feel like if Yamanoue hadn't 'died' we would have seen marked improvement in how he approaches Mars and we could have seen a kick ass story arc. Maybe one where Yamanoue starts to change his mind about what Mars is supposed to be and takes him and just LEAVES the Ministry of Science and has to flee the government because Mars was a robot built to be a weapon. It would have been cool to see maybe both of them on the run and Yamanoue desperately trying to keep Mars from blowing their cover but it happens every other week.

This is just sort of my rambling thoughts for a fandom consisting of maybe 32 people.

Another unpopular opinion is baby robots freak me the fuck out and I never want to see them ever.

Oooh this was HUGE, but I finally got it done. Tumblr’s crappy search and tagging did not make it easy to find the headcanons I made a while ago, so sorry for the long wait!

Also I never finished the Anime (I know how it ends tho) and flipped through the manga. Spoilers ahoy!

Kawashimo

Sexuality Headcanon: Hard to say as he made Miri so you claim gay/bi or he wanted a kid without adoption/marriage, so you can add Ace/Demi to that possibility as well. I'll go with straight.

Gender Headcanon: Cis male

A ship I have with said character: I guess with Yamanore but we don't see them interact that often to really convince that could be a couple.

A BROTP I have with said character: Again, Yamanore.

A NOTP I have with said character: Any villain characters. Also goes without saying but no underage or (pseudo-) incest!

A random headcanon: He's created the Kokoro equivalent in this universe and installed it in Mars, so he mentally grows up and becomes more heroic.

General Opinion over said character: He seems like a Ochanomizu clone and not much of his own character IMO. While I don't hate him, I don't find him interesting.

Yamanoue

Sexuality Headcanon: Unlike Tenma who was married with a kid, there's no mention of his familyHe does have this traditional masculine-like attitude so he can be straight or in the closet. He could also be ace/demi.

Gender Headcanon: Cis male

A ship I have with said character: Kawashimo being the only person he seem to respect.

A BROTP I have with said character: Kawashimo, again. Maybe he'll get along with (better)Miri after the series ends.

A NOTP I have with said character: Any villain characters. Also goes without saying but no underage or (pseudo-) incest!

A random headcanon: Like Tenma, he’s on the Autism scale too.

Bonus: I gave him the first name of ’Okuran’. Okura is the name of an ancient Japanese poet, Yamanoue No Okura, and the Japanese name of the Okra plant that his sideburns resemble.

General Opinion over said character: If Tenma was more of a hot head and an jingoistic then you’ll get this guy. Despite that, he never abandoned Mars purposefully and even tried to hash things out with him before he was supposedly killed off but was actually captured. Him and Mars had great chemistry together and I wish he appeared in a few more episodes with him.

(Jetter) Mars

Sexuality Headcanon: He had a crush on a robot girl and an alien like girl so either straight or Bi. Gender Headcanon: Cis male

A ship I have with said character: The alien girl was cute, basically genderbent version of Bem for Astro Boy. The robot girl was a teenager so that wouldn't work out.

A BROTP I have with said character: Other than Miri and Melchi I can't say.

A NOTP I have with said character: Any villain characters. Also goes without saying but no (pseudo-) incest!

A random headcanon:

General Opinion over said character: He's basically a genderbent Uran with Astro's powers who slowly becomes a caring and more considerate hero like Astro but a bit more playful.

Sexuality Headcanon: She's pretty accepting so really It can be anything.

Gender Headcanon: Cis woman

A ship I have with said character: None, she's pretty much in the background sadly.

A BROTP I have with said character: Mars and Melchi.

A random headcanon:

General Opinion over said character: Like most woman in Astro Boy, she gets pushed to side and never really had her chance to shine. She has the ability to fix machine by simply touching them yet that was only used in the first episode. It’s doubtful but should we ever get a Reboot (After we get an AB one but who knows when that’ll be..) I’ll love to see her a bit more fleshed out rather be the ‘Generic nice girl’.

Okay writing this down in case I forget bc I think I wanna make OCs out of this.

I had a dream that I started getting into this franchise that started with an old anime @artistefish really liked. Yeah Arty my brain made up an anime and made me believe you posted abt it all the time hdhffjc

ANYWAY the main character was this boy with black, kinda spiky hair who happened to be a cyborg. He spent most of his time asleep in a big tank full of some kind of chemical. The evil genius who created him, who was eerily similar to Dr. Eggman, intended to make him into a weapon of mass destruction someday, but kept him in suspended consciousness for the time being. So obv a lot of Astro Boy/Jetter Mars inspo. This guy's lair was also full of creatures like Pokémon, so he essentially had Pokémon minions.

Then some princess, who was similar to BOTW Zelda but also mildly similar to Nikki from Astro Boy, ventured into the castle to stop this mad scientist with her magic, but she lost a fight against him and was captured. Then the boy woke up from his years-long sleep to go rescue her, even though he didn't know her. Ahh, romance.

But for some reason throughout the series, aside from rare occasions that the princess convinced the cyborg to venture out, he would always climb back into his tank and go to sleep after saving her or someone else. There was either some Stockholm syndrome involved or the mad scientist was actually not that evil, bc cyborg boy would always go back to him and considered him a father, and even when the princess and cyborg eventually got married, the princess lovingly referred to her father-in-law??

Overall tho it was very very cute. I want to design these characters from my vague memory now.

[SPOILER] FINALLY I FINISHED BOMBERMAN JETTERS DENSETSU NO BOMBERMAN!!

It was a little difficult to play the game due to the game being in Japanese, but I was patient enough to finally finish the game

When you finish the game, a cutscene appears of Dr. Mechadoc building something, which will definitely be a new event to complete 100%

But yeah, I'm not experienced to beat 100% so that's all.

so, about those fanfictions, anything you want to share?

I mostly write for Bomberman and DDLC.

The DDLC fics are just MC/TransFem!Natsuki smut things because I can't stop enjoying the idea of two manga dorks in a happy relationship just living out their best lives. Naturally, they don't get too much attention compared to the lesbian ships (and the cishet ships), mostly because MC is just a husk of an entity for the player to do things through alongside the fact that unless you have a very specific thing in mind (or you just like dudes), there isn't much to really explore unless you just wanted smut.

The bomberman fics, besides the fact that 2/3 of them are Jetters crossovers with Cruelty Squad that feature Mighty indulging in his worst tendencies in a place that actively rewards them, range from a gen rated fic about Dr. Mitsumori creating a robot for the Japanese government in an effort to save his research bureau from being on a budget chopping block to (MAJOR LEAGUE BMJ SPOILERS) outright exploring (Through a Teen rating initially for the first one shot to a Mature rated continuation that emphasized the violence that's more home to Cruelty Squad) Mighty's existence past his death before returning back to his friends in some capacity or another.

fun fact unrelated to anything but in the Jetter Mars anime since Astro doesn't exist Dr. Tenma attempted to kidnap Mars, wipe/rewrite his memory, and turn HIM into a robot replacement of his dead son. Bro straight up stole someone else's robot kid in this universe not even bothering to make his own! Mars has two dads so this is quite homophobic of him to do /j
