A map of the Katastralgemeinden (KG) of Vienna and the football teams located there. This one probably requires a bit of explaining. Vienna is home to a lot of football clubs, some small, some larger. Most of these correspond in some form to the Viennese KGs, a form of sub-district. This map is an attempt to show the colourful Viennese football scene. The clubs have been included mainly by virtue of having their own grounds, hence some clubs are not included despite having the name of a district or KG in the name. The clubs listed by district and KG here

Map of the county teams of the Gaelic sports.
The colors of the county are the colors of the jerseys and the badges are placed where the representative stadiums of the counties are located. Yes, I’ve been to Ireland recently and I loved it. And no, I haven’t shut up about it eversince.

Timeline GIF of the old Oberliga Nord.
That sure is a lot of Hamburg in there, including a season with six teams (HSV, St. Pauli, Concordia, Altona and Harburger TB). There’s also seasons with two Lübeck teams (VfB as well as Phönix), two Osnabrück teams (VfL and Eintracht) as well as lots of seasons with two Bremen teams (Werder and Bremer SV) and two Hannover teams (96 and Arminia)
Additional shoutout to Hardy Grüne as his favorite club 1. SC Göttingen 05 is in here for ten seasons. Go order a copy of Zeitspiel Magazin, you won’t regret it.

Timeline GIF of the old Vertragsliga Berlin.
The split of Berlin made this one a little lopsided. Sorry.

Timeline GIF of the old Oberliga Südwest
Probably the Oberliga with the most complicated history, it was originally an Oberliga for the entirety of the French zone of Postwar-Germany and therefore included a Southern group compromised of the clubs from Südbaden and Württemberg-Hohenzollern. The Timeline GIF for the Southern part is found here.
Further complicating the league history was the status of the Saarland. The Timeline GIF for the Ehrenliga Saarland can be found here.
Fun things about this Oberliga include the four Ludwigshafen clubs (neither of which ever made it to the Bundesliga), a season with three clubs from Mainz (Mainz 05 as well as Gonsenheim and Weisenau), two seasons with two clubs from Trier (Eintracht and Kürenz) as well as Kaiserslautern having two top-level teams with good ol’ FCK as well as their literal next-door neighbors VfR Kaiserslautern.

Timeline GIF of the Ehrenliga Saarland.
The Saarland was in a state of limbo for a couple of years and since FIFA restrictions didn’t allow them to play in the German league system the Saar clubs played their own league.
Top club 1. FC Saarbrücken was way too strong for the league and played as a guest teams in the French Division 2 for the first year winning the league easily but being blocked for promotion into Division 1. Instead of switching to the comparatively weak Ehrenliga Saarland, 1. FC Saarbrücken played a group of international friendly matches called the Internationaler Saarlandpokal inviting teams such as Stade Rennais, Rapid Wien, Hajduk Split or Standard Liège. For the second season of the Saarlandpokal, VfB Borussia Neunkirchen joined 1. FCS as a second hosting team only sending their B-Squad to the Ehrenliga Saarland, as had FCS the first two seasons.
After three seasons of independent gameplay, the Saarland was reintegrated into Germany along with its football system with 1. FC Saarbrücken and VfB Borussia Neunkirchen rejoining the Oberliga Südwest

Timeline GIF of the Southern Group of Oberliga Südwest before the Südbadner clubs were included into the Oberliga Süd.
Sadly none of them ever really took hold except for SSV Reutlingen. Neither of the two Freiburg clubs (Freiburger FC being the premier club of the city back then) made it and after the first season of inclusion into Oberliga Süd Second-placed Singen was relegated immediately. Even sadder, Second-placed Tübingen and Fourth-placed Konstanz got relegated from the Second Division of Oberliga Süd immediately... Neither of the two cities ever made much of a splash in German football after that.

Timeline GIF of the old Oberliga Süd.
Fun things include the two predecessors of FC Augsburg, three Mannheim clubs (VfR, Waldhof and Neckarau), seasons with three Frankfurt clubs (plus Offenbach) and even a season with three Stuttgart clubs (VfB, Kickers and Sportfreunde).

Just a little thing to let y’all know I’m still here: Little maps of the five biggest German cities and the Ruhrpott of their respective football teams in the top 5 Men’s leagues.
Note for the Hamburg map: Since the fifth league level for Hamburg is a league decidedly only for Hamburg teams I’ve decided to only have the teams from the top 4 leagues on the map.
Note for the Ruhrpott map: With the other five maps I have included the teams that are not in the city proper but geographically close enough to be in the area besides the city on the map (e.g. Leverkusen for Cologne, Potsdam-Babelsberg for Berlin or Offenbach for Frankfurt). As the Ruhrpott is already an agglomeration and not a city proper I have decided against including teams that would still be on the map (e.g. the Düsseldorf teams or Ahlen)
Here’s the imgur links for full-sized maps: Berlin :: Ruhrpott :: Hamburg :: Munich :: Cologne :: Frankfurt/Main

another little map of fusions. this time it’s the complicated history of wuppertaler sv from the west side of german town wuppertal.
wuppertaler sv (borussia) played in the bundesliga from 1972/73 until 1974/75 and in the second bundesliga from 1975/76 to 1979/80. currently they are taking part in the oberliga niederrhein (5th league).

thanks for the input.i disregarded scb preußen and scb viktoria to simplify the map a bit and because they were basically the same club as the refounded fc viktoria köln. i have no idea why i left out junkersdorf though. that will be remedied soon as well as the sc brück logo.
