A glimpse of Roberto's old family home, where he was born and lived until he was 8 years old, before it was destroyed by the mysterious 'Great Storm' that devastated the downtown of Reef City.

The house was a large "Sobrado" designed by Fernando, one of Roberto's two dads and who is an environmental engineer. Fernando was inspired by the ancient architecture of the sharkfolk, called 'atoll style', a ring structure with several rooms surrounding a central lagoon. The family who lived in this type of house usually met to consecrate meals at a gazebo in the center. These houses were always built by the sea.

I was inspired to try to make a 3D model to imagine what the complete house would look like hehe

As the house was built in a rural region of the island, Alejandro, Roberto's second dad, established a seaweed plantation around the house to make 'seaweed wine', which was aged submerged under the sea.

Unfortunately, everything was lost in the great storm. Fernando holds a lot of resentment about this, as the house he designed was literally a dream come true. He had wished on a falling star to have the chance to build this house and honored the star with an ornament on the house's tower.

Roberto's family currently lives in a resort called 'Seven Waves', which has been converted into a residential building to house refugees who lost their homes in the great storm.

The style of the house looked like something from Studio Ghibli hehe

RJ's Platinum Collection #8: SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated!

I was a huge SpongeBob fan when I was a kid, and so naturally I was a big fan of the original Battle for Bikini Bottom. Where a lot of licensed games from my childhood are mediocre to bad looking back on them, BFBB is still a genuinely good platformer and a very fun experience. So when they released the Rehydrated edition in all its updated colors and graphics, you bet your yellow sponge ass I was getting that platinum.

Battle for Bikini Bottom is exactly what it says on the tin: Plankton made evil robots, the robots are out of control and terrorizing the city, it's up to SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy to save the day. You do that by fighting robots while also completing missions and challenges that earn you Golden Spatulas, which you can use to progress to new areas. You need 75 Golden Spatulas in order to enter the Final Boss arena, but there are a total of 100 spatulas in the game, and you need all 100 for the trophy.

Like Jak & Daxter, I knew how to get everything done, so I wanted to try to fully complete each level before moving on to the next one - starting with the tutorial inside of SpongeBob's pineapple.

1/33: Time For Tutorial - Collect everything inside of SpongeBob's house.

Going outside to the first section of Bikini Bottom, you have access to three levels - Jellyfish Fields, Downtown Bikini Bottom, and Goo Lagoon. All three of these levels are fantastic and super fun to play.

I had no choice but to start with Jellyfish Fields since the other two levels are locked until you get a certain number of Spatulas. While playing, I found 15 of Patrick's missing socks, of which you need to collect 80 in order to get 100% of the game.

2/33: Sock Getter - Find 15 of Patrick's socks.

Continuing on I beat the main mission of Jellyfish Fields, then moved on to Downtown Bikini Bottom, and finally Goo Lagoon before defeating the gigantic Robot Sandy in the Poseidom.

3/33: Jellyfish Jam - Defeat King Jellyfish.

4/33: Spatula Seeker - Collect 10 Golden Spatulas.

5/33: Jellyfishing - Complete Squidward's mission in Jellyfish Fields.

6/33: Uptown and Downtown - Complete Mrs. Puff's mission in Downtown Bikini Bottom.

7/33: Sponge Smasher - Defeat 100 robots as SpongeBob.

8/33: Super Spatula Seeker - Collect 25 Golden Spatulas.

9/33: Surf's Up! - Complete all the main missions in Goo Lagoon.

10/33: Sweet Victory - Defeat Robot Sandy in the Poseidom.

The second section of Bikini Bottom gives you access to the Mermalair, Sand Mountain, and Rock Bottom. While I love Sand Mountain and Rock Bottom, I always found the Mermalair to be a weaker level (not as bad as later, but weaker). So I decided to complete the main missions of Rock Bottom first, then Sand Mountain, and finally the Mermalair.

Side note, it took me 32 tries to complete the rolling ball puzzle in the Mermalair. There is a REASON that everyone who plays this game hates that mission.

Anyways, after finishing all three of those levels I fought Robot Patrick in the Industrial Park and got access to the final area of Bikini Bottom.

11/33: Sock Concert - Find 40 of Patrick's socks.

12/33: Squirrel Smasher - Defeat 100 robots as Sandy.

13/33: Hit Rock Bottom - Finish the main missions of Rock Bottom.

Area 3 gives you access to the Kelp Forest, the Flying Dutchman's Graveyard, and SpongeBob's Dream. I really dislike the first two levels so I got them out of the way first, but SpongeBob's Dream is probably the best level in the game - and also the hardest.

20/33: Hello, Bikini Bottom! - Find all of the hidden Golden Spatulas in Bikini Bottom.

21/33: Star Smasher - Defeat 100 robots as Patrick.

22/33: Kelp Forest of Fear - Find all of the lost campers in the Kelp Forest.

23/33: Robot Encyclopedia - Defeat at least one type of every robot in the campaign.

24/33: Mega Spatula Seeker - Collect 75 Golden Spatulas.

25/33: Ship Shape - Reclaim the Flying Dutchman's ship in the Flying Dutchman's Graveyard.

26/33: Shanghaied - Defeat the Flying Dutchman.

27/33: Sock Opera - Find all 80 of Patrick's socks.

28/33: Sleepy Time - Find all the Golden Spatulas in SpongeBob's Dream.

Once I had all nine main levels finished, I actually needed to spend some time collecting shiny objects (the game's version of currency) to give to Mr. Krabs in exchange for Golden Spatulas. After I did that, I had 98/100 spatulas, and it was time to go face the final boss - the giant Robot SpongeBob.

29/33: SpongeBob Vs. SpongeBob! - Defeat SpongeBot SteelPants in the Chum Bucket Lab.

Oh, but that's not actually the final boss. The real final boss is Robot Plankton, and to defeat HIM you need to complete a lot of parkour and puzzle solving while inside of Robot SpongeBob's head. Defeating him will get you all three remaining trophies, and the Battle for Bikini Bottom platinum!

30/33: 100% SpongeBob - Get 100% completion.

31/33: Super Ultra Mega Spatula Seeker - Collect all 100 Golden Spatulas.

32/33: The Small Does Not Rule - Defeat Robo-Plankton.

33/33: Neptune's Spatula - Get all of the other trophies in the game.

I don't have any fancy review words to say. Just play this game and get this platinum. It's easy but a lot of fun!

we personally are a disney world family but i have been to disneyland twice!!

my favorite ride is big thunder mountain railroad but i am ITCHING to go on the new tiana ride!!

top three favorite snacks/foods are :

the lunch buffet at the crystal palace in magic kingdom (winnie the pooh and friends walk around while you eat, it's so cute)

2. smoked chimichurri-braised beef in the avatar section of animal kingdom

3. macaron lime raspery in the french pavilion at epcot!

and lock in bc i'm about to answer the all the park question,

so the entire disneyworld property holds four main THEME parks, not including the two water parks.

these parks are :

magic kingdom (THE disney park, complete with the castle.)

epcot (tbh this is more of an "food and view" kind of park, and i know a lot of kids get bored here but personally growing up autistic it was my favorite. it showcases 11 different countries cultures, foods, etc.)

animal kingdom (disney themed zoo tbh, cool for avatar fans)

hollywood studios (most loved by star wars fans)

disney ALSO has a shopping center that anyone can go to called "Disney Springs" formally known as "Downtown Disney".

the two waterparks i've never personally been too bc i can't swim 😔 but they are called Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach.

ALSO on the disney world property is TONS of resorts with a ton of amazing amenties, as well as an ESPN sports complex (i've never been, but it seems cool) and a stable where all the horses used for the parades are kept and cared for by experts and you can go on horseback rides!

So since we don't have official locations for what part of the area the characters ACTUALLY live in, I have THOUGHTS as someone who actually grew up in SLC. Or at least for these two, can you tell I've thought a lot about this.

Seb: So the only thing we know about his housing situation is that he lives on a farm. Believe it or not, there aren't farms running around in downtown SLC. So my personal belief is they're up further north, likely in Farmington. Which is like a 30 minute commute to East High, but logistically that's the only thing that makes sense to me because you don't really start seeing farmland until you get up to like, Woods Cross. Plus I just think it would be funny if the Matthew-Smiths lived in a city called FARMINGTON. (Bonus: Why has nobody written a fic about Seblos doing a date at Lagoon yet? ITS RIGHT THERE. Do I need to do this myself?)

Carlos: We know he's got CASH, so there's really only one acceptable answer here. He's gotta live in the Broadway District somewhere, because that neighborhood is RITSY as fuck. Like, apartments and condos running $700,000 kind of expensive. The nice thing about this, is it's pretty close to East High, like ten minutes or so. Not a super long drive. I also feel like his family has a ski lodge up in Park City somewhere because come on. Park City is where all the rich people in Utah spend their winter breaks when they aren't flying somewhere tropical.

Danny Fenton is the son of leading marine biologists Jack and Maddie Fenton. Normally, it would be super cool. Too bad his parents are into the pseudoscience of merbiology. And they live in Ohio.

But when Danny and his friends go poking around in the lab built around a lagoon swathed in legends and fables, they find out that some stories simply hold more water.

Danny found himself coming back to stare at the lagoon day after day. He would squint down into the water, trying to see what his parents saw.

“It’s just water,” he would grumble at the end of every day before trudging back to his room. “It’s not magic.”

Sure, Amity Park could be considered magical. The creeks and streams in Ohio all seemed to converge here, defying pretty much every law of reality to do so. Not to mention, there were bodies of water that just shouldn’t exist. The bayou, for example. The mangrove swamps that grew on the edge of the suburbs whose waters were strangely brackish considering there was no natural source of salt water in Ohio. The marshes behind the school. The Everglade-esque swamps that made up a section of downtown Amity Park. The wetlands that connected them to the larger rivers surrounding the town. None of it made sense. The climate or conditions for most of these bodies of water didn’t exist in Ohio, and yet… here they were.

Scientists argued that Amity Park was just sitting on top of a giant spring, and as such was simply below the water table. The water kept creeping into the town, essentially flooding it until the city began to work around it and incorporate it into its development. There was no way a mangrove swamp could grow in Ohio. It simply wasn’t possible. The scientists all agreed it was just water that surrounded Amity Park.

But still, his parents insisted there was something magical about Amity Park in general and about this lagoon specifically. They had built their house here, over the lagoon to study it constantly. When they built the house, they constructed it around a central opening that started at the top of the basement and opened to the sky above. There was a metal cover that could be engaged when it was raining (which was often), but allowed the surface of the lagoon to be visible to the rest of the world when the weather was good. He didn’t understand the whole point, but his parents repeatedly told him that the lagoon was tied to the moon, and they needed to be able to ‘reach’ each other. Whatever that meant.

WELCOME TO CANCUN (JULY 17-31!)

Your home away from home for the next couple of weeks. In reality, it'll be a week vacation for your muses, but two weeks for roleplaying purposes. Seoul is humid during the Summer, and also, dealing with a bunch of rain that we figured your muses would appreciate some sunlight, and beachy weather. All idols/actors will be staying in TURQUOIZE AT HYATT ZIVA which is an adults only resort. There will be other tourists, however, half of the resort is exclusive only to your muses. With us taking full advantage of the BC (British Columbia) SB flowing freely on the Rocky Mountaineer over the last couple of days a certain amount of detox perhaps was called for on this the penultimate day of our travels, but we still have much to see and do in Vancouver. It is important not to panic when there is little time remaining. Plans were made over the yellow label egg and onion filled croissant we purchased for breakfast. We were reminded that 50% of Vancouverites do not boast English as their first language. When I asked the girl in the bakery about buying bus tickets she panicked, clearly did not understand a word and I assumed she was a signed up member to that particular 50%. I asked a girl in a 'Save on Food' supermarket about their opening hours and she managed to splutter out 'I no speak English, I from Ukraine'. Then this evening I was deciding on which Vietnamese dish to buy in a Food Hall and I wanted to establish what time they were open till, clearly she too was in the 50% club. What a cosmopolitan place this is!

We worked out how to use the buses and climbed aboard the 19 to Stanley Park and what a nice day we had there. It is indeed a most agreeable place. Set on the tip of the spit of land that houses Vancouver Downtown, it extends 400 hectares and was created in 1888. It's aims were: Preserve and protect the ecology of Stanley Park, Ensure the sustainability of Stanley Park, Enhance Vancouver's live-ability through the enjoyment of Stanley Park. Well enhance away I say. It would appear this objective is achieved in spades by a good number of Vancouverites who embrace this ethic with enthusiasm and hurtle around the cycle lanes that meander the byways of the park to the degree a collision with one is a distinct probability. Last time we were in the park we were puzzled by the contestants in Race across the World BBC program who couldn't find their way out of the park. Picture if you may a circle with a path around it surrounded by sea. If you are anywhere inside the circle head to the perimeter without falling into the sea and head in either direction along the path. Sooner or later you will find yourself in Vancouver Downtown. It's as simple as that. I think it took them all day!

We perambulated around the perimeter and then were puzzled to read on the map of the Lost Lagoon. Well we found it perfectly well as we also did the Rose Garden, the Lighthouse and a cafe or two. Satisfied with all this achievement we made our way back downtown on the 19 in search of the aforementioned Vietnamese food outlet. Martine had a burger but I splashed my way through a bowl of wonton soup and some form of noodle dish. Not a pretty sight. The grid system of Downtown Vancouver is not a challenge to master; it is very straightforward and all the important components of the city are close at hand. We went on the HOHO (hop on, hop off) when we first got here. Waste of money. Thanks to there not being much to do, hopping off is not really much of a necessity. Just pay a couple of bucks on the regular bus to the park and have done.

To round off a perfect day we went for our last Canadian Brew Beer. We came across an Irish pub. Well that is to say it was Irish until a Tottenham Hotspur supporter from London bought it, but it does still serve draught Guinness. However, the barmaid who had a bit of an Irish accent was from the Ukraine. The bloke on the barstool next to us came from Dublin but moved to Toronto and now lives in Vancouver although he wants to move to the States. Well internationally it's all very complicated but it was a very nice pint and a great atmosphere.

ps. Abbreviations can be addictive. When one of our fellow Rocky-ites said they were off on an Alaskan cruise, they said they were on the Holland something. Oh, I said helpfully, Holland and Barrett? That's it they said, and from then on, that's what they called it too!

pps This has been a great trip. Almost everything has been fantastic and exceeded all expectations. It's a shame it has now come to an end but we have much to do at home.

My storytelling file is anything but perfect when it comes builds. I am notorious at starting them only to leave them incomplete for who knows how long. However, I maintain a very specific idea of how Newcrest’s Llama Lagoon neighborhood should look. I’m from the Midwest (Ohio, specifically) so a lot of my worldbuilding ideas emerge from the city I was born in ‘cause who’s gonna notice that?? Ohio cities aren’t hot points for fiction! 😝

Downtown you see a lot of old, historic buildings that are either housing new businesses or barely standing (or, they’re ‘cute’ buildings created in the throes of gentrification.) 

Accomplishing the atmospheric vibe of old buildings lined up side by side something I felt I wouldn’t actually accomplish until I realized I had some deco buildings. And on top of that, with the TOOL mod I was about to scoot these deco buildings on exposed grass. 👀 I feel like I’m onto the start of something great!
