I only follow you because of your Loki/Doctor Doom fanvids on Youtube from like six years ago. You are on my dash occasionally, we don’t really share any interests anymore but those shipping videos made my summer in 2017. I hold them close to my heart and rewatch them at last three times a year and every time I see your icon while I scroll into oblivion I get reminded of special Moments from that summer in years of depression. I want you to know that you brought me a lot of happiness.

It genuinely warms my heart to know that my videos had that sort of an impact on you, and I'm very humbled to hear that you love rewatching them. They were such a special time for me too since 2017 was really when I got back in Doom/Loki after having gotten distracted by other ships. And they have been such a fun and important ship for me in general.

I still write for Doom/Loki regularly in my Quite a Glittering Assemblage fanfic, but I get that the multicrossover isn't to everyone's tastes. And you made me realize that I haven't made content of just the boys in a hot minute, soooo...

I know it isn't the summer of 2017 anymore, but maybe you can add one new one that I just made today to the next rewatch session.

My understanding is that "Lady Loki" is an amalgation of "Lady Sif" (Sif's title) and "Loki" because Loki was possessing Sif. The whole possession subplot is a transphobic wet dream, and it's why I like to pretend it didn't happen and every day I am glad that the MCU, for all its faults, didn't go through with that specific subplot.

i'm just going to post about this again because i've seen a couple things pop up, and. PLEASE stop referring to "lady loki" as a different character entirely from loki. it's a very strange thing to do, to list her as a different character. you would not go up to a genderfluid person in real life and start calling them Lady [Name]. she was only called lady loki as a fun little joke when she was possessing lady sif. she's a genderfluid character, and as a woman, she carries the same titles that she does as a man. she's the princess of asgard, not a lady. a lady is a different title entirely. she's the queen of jötunheim, not a lady.

how would you describe thor and loki’s dynamic to someone who has never seen the movies?

Narratively co-dependent sibling rivalry that makes Cain and Abel's rivalry pale in comparison. They also say "BROTHA" a lot.

Thor's basically Mufasa/He-Man/SkekUng, and Loki's basically Scar/Skeletor/SkekSil.

I think you'd enjoy this Loki and Hela team-up oneshot.

This one has a happy ending but it's quite angsty on Loki's part (and it doesn't get to bad points; but it could have).

There's this fic, though not my favorite, I found very enjoyable for xenobiology reasons and because the author made Loki act mean and bitchy as a patient, which is accurate. Rather than the little waif he's made out to be in other Loki recovery fics. The alien biology is very detailed and well thought of. If you like speculative xenobiology, you'll enjoy this.

I love Lise's fics. I'm that freak that loves vivisection stuff, so I especially enjoy "The Vivisection Tango." I love shit where one character wants to vivisect the other.

There's a VERY fucked up Doomki fic based on Latverian Prometheus that haunts me, but it is not for the faint of heart, so I'm not posting it xD I feel weird saying I think about it often.

On a softer Valki note, I enjoyed this fic:

what do you think loki’s biggest fear is? (if not *the* biggest, one of the biggest.)

Losing those he loves (e.g. Thor, Frigga) is a far greater fear for Loki than dying, being alone, or abandoned. He couldn't bear to lose Thor, and so handed the Tesseract to Thanos and likely attacked Thanos knowing he'd die (to keep it balanced). He was also willing to die just to avenge Frigga. Loki has a long history of dying for his loved ones to either avenge them or protect them. Loki would do ANYTHING to keep them from harm.

In respect to Frigga, I like thinking about how it's a reversal of the whole "mother willing to die/sacrifice for her children" when it's an adoptive child doing the sacrificing instead. IDK, it fucks me up to think about that. There's something there but I can't put words to it.

I know you are a Pro Thorki Shipper, but what do you think of the Doomki ship?

I think it’s fun! And also painful due to the whole clone situation! When I cosplay Loki, I love finding Dooms to mess with and do photo shoots with :D!

basically I don’t think Loki is going to get incredibly emotionally invested in dalliances with his fellow villains on Midgard, but is he gonna have a good time and maybe enjoy the camaraderie more than he lets on? oh yeah he is. He’s gotta have somebody paying attention to him when Thor is busy, after all. And there is something compelling about him sharing that experience with someone else with similar obsessions.

My one modicum of a silver lining that I'm going to take from this, though, is that I'm pretty sure this technically makes all FrostIron content free real estate to just image as Doomki content from now on XD

sigyn stans are one of the most thin skinned people on the internet and they don't realize no one would mind their bland fave if they weren't the ones shoving her down everyone's throats, putting down other loki love interests to prop her up as the only one who can love him right, throwing fits when she's absent from loki media as if the actual myth sigyn wasn't a very minor character that only appears in one myth, and finding ways to shoehorn her in every loki story ever even when she wouldn't fit. then they have the gal of acting like people being fed with her and her stans is misogyny or feeling threatened by her non existent presence, with a side of projection in accusing those who dislike her of wanting their self insert oc to bang loki instead when sigyn is the ultimate self insert oc. like, cmon, you can't claim that you ship loki and sigyn because you like the way their personalities match when sigyn canonically doesn't have one (unless you consider "misogynistic to other women" a personality)

Exactly, and this is to clarify for those lacking context, I am talking about Marvel's Sigyn. Interpret the myths however you want.

Being misogynistic to other women and ridiculously unintelligent and waifish caricature of women (she was given a way out on a silver platter and everyone was begging her to take it) are her only personality traits. Marvel's Sigyn was written by cishet white men that thought it was "saintly" to stay with abusers. I really hate how it's treated as "saintly" rather than as a neutral trait. By that definition, I am also "a saint" due to past experiences. I will never get over j*nquilcl*gane praising Marvel Sigyn slut-shaming Amora and Lorelei, and Sigyn being glad that Amora is being given off to a giant forcefully in "Ages of Thunder."

Also, if you look that user up on Tumblr (I think her blocking me, allowed this to show up in the top results lol), she harrassed an RP blog for shipping comics-based Doomki in and was very gross about it. The way she constantly accuses everyone that doesn't care for their prop of a character as "lusting over Loki" is nasty and disgusting.

I got accused of "lusting over Loki" for pointing out that Vali being considered Loki's son is a transcription error and thus he's actually Odin's son (so she's not accurate either), and asking why she's losing her shit over people using myth-based names for children OCs for their ships. Also, she just makes shit up such as "Sigyn is associated with foxes."

Like I love Loki, like yes, he's pretty, but I just project traumas onto him and like reading meta and fic about him. And I'd be very disappointed in TH if he dared to think of cheating on ZA with me.

I have no idea why I could see her replies to my submission to an ask blog (seems like they finally posted it lol, took a long time, it was in response to someone complaining about Ikol for "having their friends beat up Sigyn" when Sigyn and the exes tied him up to hang from the ceiling of a warehouse, and attacked Ikol's friends).

Hadeficent: I’ll admit it took me a bit to warm up to this one - I was locked into Hadecilier for so long, and I liked to play Maleficent around the field (remember our Maleficent/Blackheart night, GA? Remember it?). But after reading your sweet writing of it...gah, I am SOLD. It still feels kinda “new” to me for that reason, but I really enjoy indulging in it now.

Doomki: Yes. Good. OTP. 100%. Probably my favorite Loki ship you’ve ever had now that I’ve seen their MUA and comic interactions. It allows them to be portrayed as both fluffy AND bitter in the same ship.

Rulin: I mean this is True Blood canon and my only knowledge of True Blood is the clips you’ve shown me but...this is me talking a big talk for someone who hasn’t seen everything in context, but I’m actually MAD whenever I see Russell/Talbot or that scene where Steve dies proclaiming his love for Jason because YOU TWO...ARE SUPPOSED...TO GO...WITH EACH OTHER. DANG IT.

Fishsula: Not as strong of a love for it, but it’s probably my favorite Ursula ship nonetheless. (Can’t speak as to Fish ships without having experienced her in canon, which I think I’m locking as more of a matter of “when” than “if.” I’M GONNA TRY AND DO IT Y’ALL) It’s good and I like seeing it! And you write it really well. Like, REALLY well. 

CaptainSerpent: HOW? HOW DID YOU TAKE A CRACK CONCEPT LIKE THIS AND MAKE IT SO ADDICTING? When you first put them together, I was SURE they weren’t gonna last. But reading your writing of them I’m suddenly like WHY DO THEY...GO? THIS IS SO CUTE. It’s the same “fluffy but bitter” principle as Doomki, but trending more toward the bitter. A good bitter, though.

EvilPuppies: Admittedly not AS jazzed for this one either - I think it’s just because I haven’t seen them together in your fic or worked with them in mine in a while. But it’s still my favorite ship for either, and I like seeing it. Maybe I just need to schedule them for a mission in TBTC soon.

ArDaken: Okay, so this one’s not QAGA canon yet. But it will be if all goes according to plan. See, the thing is, I know on the surface that all of their similarities make them an ideal match, but I don’t have an ardent (GEDDIT) passion for this one either. I’m more curious than anything to see how it plays out in practice. Reading and/or writing it will probably push me toward being more endeared. I do like it, though! There’s certainly nothing wrong with it!

Pete/Mary: THIS IS THE CUTEST SHIT I HAVE EVER SEEN. MORE PLEASE

Winnie/Davy: Also not canon yet and I’m aware it may change. It’s...it’s such a crackship I have to love it on principle. I never would’ve come up with it on my own, not even if I’d been playing on the same logic line you were to get here. It’s so ridiculously mismatched-looking that my adoration for pairings that don’t look like they go but actually have mad chemistry just goes WILD over this concept.
