All things considered, I think this is the first time Victor is realizing the burden of carrying the mantle. Of course, he will not accept Stephen's words, he's too proud for that, but they'll certainly weigh on him. They always do. That's why they can work together to a certain point until they reach divergent perspectives.

Also, if you've been here for a while, you know that I always emphasize that being the Sorcerer Supreme is a burden, not a place of power.

I need One World Under Doom to end with this notion so bad. Because, while Victor is driven by his need to fix the world in his own image and the mantle gives him that opportunity, he can't outsource the job. He's not willing to pay the price.

I really need him to experience said price, the feeling of loneliness in a world of magic and the altruism that comes with it, the sacrifices and the losses. Not that he doesn't experience that already, but again, he's too proud to admit any of that. That's how we got T&T in the first place: because he couldn't bring himself to ask for help.

I have no idea if this is going to happen, but that would be my perfect ending. We already know that he will need the Avengers according to the next solicitations, but what about the one person whose piece of soul is his possession? Ryan North, I'm legit under your bed rn
