Hi, first things first I *love* the whole Makeoververse premise, I've browsed through the page and many of your ideas seem so fresh for these characters, accompanied by the great art. So it got me wondering, are you mostly done with this AU? Like, don't, get me wrong, I see you've been still posting some stuff lately, like the F4 redesigns or other fun little arts, but you didn't really do much posts about the lore or story of this 'verse like you did in the past. If you feel like you've told in this regard everything you wanted or just don't have that much time to do that anymore, I must respect it. But damn, would love to hear more about the lore of this Spider-Man again someday, especially since you've said you thought of this as a story with an ending planned. Anyway, keep up the great work!
Thank you for the kind words! It is genuinely so heartening to hear that my AU has made an impression on you.
Am I done? That is a good question - sorry it took me a bit to get to it. The short answer is that no, I'm not yet done with this little 'verse - or at least don't want to be. My mind is always orbiting Spidey, and I have sketches to spare of various characters and comic ideas.
The longer answer is that this year has been pretty tough for me so far, in some respects. I had my askbox closed for a bit while I was busy managing other projects and some life stuff, and just when I reopened it with the intent of a nice big return, I got hit with what may have been the most stressful months of my life - which culminated in an unexpected moving of house, and the internet dropping out for nearly a month.
Not to dwell too much on frustrating stuff, but it was pretty upsetting to not be able to come back full force like I'd intended. I still want to get to people's requests, and finish up my set of Sinister Six strips, and also would really like to try streaming as a frequent thing.
So it's been a lot, and there are continuing things I'm managing, but I still enjoy developing this 'verse when I have the time, and to interact with folks here.
Ideally you'll see things pick up more steam in the near future. At the very least you should see more of the occasional design pop up. Glad for folks who continue taking a look :)
Keep climbin', keep swingin' 🕸🤟

Made some tweaks to my old write-up of her:
Sue’s life had been a series of moments. One moment, she was looking after her brother when they had no-one else. The next moment, she was a brilliant but unrecognised biochemistry major. Before long, she was reading wedding vows to the smartest man in the world. It had taken a lot to let her walls down, but she finally felt home - felt seen. And then, the accident - another moment. There were questions. There was conflict, and confusion, and pain. And despite her new powers, she couldn't hide from it. It turns out that once you've been noticed, everyone sees when you try to disappear. She was now able to transfer light waves through her physical form, rendering her invisible. Or concentrate them into protective fields - and, when necessary, into a shockwave of force. But Sue promised herself that she wouldn’t get caught in that moment. When her family was broken, she led them back into the light. The place of their infamous accident became her new home. She mastered her powers. She grew into the scars. And she kept helping, where it was needed. She made the moments count.

The helmless pic is pre-scar - I wouldn't show his face once he dons the helmet.

had to keep the heated-up ear piercings of course.
And here's the old write-up for him:
Johnny often has dreams about the day that changed everything. Before the accident, he had difficulty getting over his problems and traumas. His love for life had been extinguished when he was young and, while gifted in engineering, he chose to attend a regular school; shunning his aspirations and weighing himself down with normalcy. But the day he visited Reed’s lab, ‘normal’ became a thing of the past. Johnny’s molecular instability allows him to combust at will and lets him propel himself through the air with jets of flame. For Johnny, the accident was the finale to a lifelong nightmare - but one that awakened a freedom he'd long needed. He was able to accept his past tragedies and struggles - embrace them, laugh at them, and challenge what may come next. Life had always been a rollercoaster, but now he had handlebars. Don't crash, just burn.

still quite pleased with this old write-up I did for him, so sharing it again here:
The main thing that offsets people about Ben Grimm’s appearance is the sharp indents where his eyes should be. He used to attempt to maintain the shape of eyes, but it proved too difficult, and too painful. He doesn’t need them anyway - he sees with his entire form, now. Ben’s body is a rapidly growing mineral that continues to reseal itself if he doesn’t make the effort to keep his shape. He has a different set of cracks on different days, depending on how much he’s moved around, and on his mood. On good days, the cracks spread across his face in big rocky crow’s feet. On bad days, he’s notably statuesque. On the worst days, you may walk past his room and see a shapeless boulder, sitting motionless and alone. After the accident, he was quick in learning to reshape his hands, so Sue taught him how to sign, which made it easier for him to communicate with the team. But when he’s out in public, he will always make the effort to speak, in his rumbling, grinding voice. And when he speaks, he will always make the effort to say something kind. Life is too short and bizarre for harsh words. However, he is ready and willing to pull his weight in a fight. The longer he fights, the more he breaks apart. But that makes it easier to move, and helps him remember what it was like before. There’s no joy quite like clobberin’ for old Ben Grimm.

that was actually part of my thought process for this design, haha.
I also added the white segments with the hex pattern as a nod to Future Foundation costumes!

Akira Toriyama's work was, for me and many others, a major formative influence on art style, character design, and all around creativity. Some of my earliest passion for drawing came from doodling Dragon Ball OCs at school, and trying to replicate the dynamic poses and fights from the manga and anime. His ability to interchange so well between goofy and serious tones, and introduce endearing and interesting characters, was consistently impressive. His legacy will endure across many mediums, stories, and childhoods.
