I haven't been on Tumblr much recently so today was the first time I saw Don't Let It Reach the Heart and Shep. shep. oh my gosh shep you've made me ill about Destruction all over again. I am operating at 80% on three different status debuffs today and one of them is that I CANNOT stop rotating Xisuma's body language in my mental microwave. Doc's stuttering attempts to grasp at reality and living so (his /who said that) Xisuma won't have to deal with two dead Hermits in his lab. The elephant in the room, stiff and broken and covered in sublimated thirium that's named Etho, that neither of them want to look at anytime soon. Xisuma, creator, yet in a lab with two of his creations laid out before him, an offshoot hallway full of the haunted and holy frames of people he needs to fix, he can only feel like a destroyer. I. I am. in shambles. SHEP do you hear me, i am on the ground in the family guy death pose

Their body language is my absolute favorite thing to write; it just feels like there's always so much to be said about each of their respective histories and experiences and traumas, and finding ways to weave all of that into their POVs without directly stating it was so challenging but also so so so fun!! Xisuma's internal narration and body language especially just makes me so. so insane, i'm so glad it came across well!!! joining you in the microwave and spinning that poor pathetic guy around and around and around and

Kingdom Hearts 3 - Arendelle

#kingdom hearts 3 #kh3 #arendelle #scenery #my gif #it's nighttime when you first arrive in this world and you get to see the auroras shimmering in the sky #it's very beautiful but once you reach a certain point in the game it becomes daytime and you're not able to view this world at night again #that's pretty unique and i can't think of any other worlds that are like that #except maybe the kingdom of corona when you see the lanterns fly at night but that's just for a short segment #at least san fransokyo gives you a choice to view the city during night or day #anyways i'm glad i had an older save file that i was able to return back to so i could get shots of this world at night #i would have included elsa's castle but every angle i tried looked really awkward and bad lol #i don't use mods when collecting footage so some things are out of my hands when trying to get a nice shot #how sad is it that the interior of her castle is fully modeled (you can see right through the front doors) but you can't go inside #all of the characters stand in a line outside the castle and i wonder why they couldn't just hang out indoors #let me in. let me innnnnn

just going about my day idly contemplating how some of the ways hawke can interact with a romanced anders are not at all unlike how they interact with leandra (and a bit of carver too, especially with a purple hawke), and then thought about my hawke in the timeline where he romances anders and was hit straight in the face with 'was he ever actually in love, or was he just desperately trying to renegotiate with his mother's ghost in any way he could' and now i need to lie down. this is the power of dragon age 2

#'you don't know my mother' haunting me through the years #dragon age #dragon age 2 #hawke #On second thought let's not go to Kirkwall; it is a silly place #there are of course as many ways to do/read that relationship as there are players to interact with it haha and all valid!#but my personal version of handers is sooo fucked up and bad times for everyone involved and I love it haha.#this is a relationship neither of them should have been in and that made everything worse and everyone unhappy in the end #locked tomb levels of the horrors of love. i ship it but in the way that I want to make it sadder and more gutwrenching each time #to be clear this is a very mutual two-way kind of fucked up but I think varric in his loyalty and love would downplay hawke's side of it #for huge swathes of their relationship anders is not in a mental place to be a good partner and the emotional blackmail is Not Okay #(but it's just like how mother used to make it! hawke's soul cries sadly as it reaches for it hungrily)#which is in some ways fair enough no one could accuse him of not warning you ahead of time fjskda #but hawke is messy about it in a way only available to a covert people pleaser who has never had a millisecond of therapy #with some added stuff that my hawke is always acespec in some form and when he gets together with anders...#is the sex something he doesn't particularly care to have or not have but it 'makes anders happy'/he longs to feel wanted *and* needed #and also a way he gets out of ever being *actually* vulnerable (which I think he'd had to be with varric for example if he Went There )#'you want the hawke who's in your head so badly and I kind of wish I were that hawke too. so let's be collaborateurs with that fantasy'#(and then maybe if I do it right every time you'll finally be happy hawke says in his heart looking at this leandra-anders phantom form)#(and echoing stuff in varric's relationship to hawke but I think the important distinction there is that varric -- is a craftsman haha #he KNOWS when he's lying/making up a story he KNOWS the difference between what is and what he wishes the world was #(I think there's some deep longing there to not know; for it to blend together or have the power to change things. but he always knows)#which ironically leaves him in a better position to actually see and understand hawke the person #even as he is creating hawke the literary figure. almost to protect him in some ways? god da2 is so full of STUFF!!! I adore it)#and of course anders gets so disillusioned with hawke's inertia and lack of action (you all but married this man anders!#you should know this about him he's already carrying the whole family and city on his shoulders if you add a gram more he'll collapse!)#and hawke feels so desperately hurt that the promise anders seemed to make that he'd be enough -- that he could fix things for him --#('I'm the one bright light in kirkwall and that apparently doesn't count for shit so I'm just slowly turning to ash for you')#turned out to be untrue. anyway. sad now. imagine them meeting like twenty years on what the fuck could you even say to each other then #(I can't imagine Hawke ever physically hurting anyone he loves so he just tells Anders to leave at the end of DA2. they COULD meet again

Grace FUMBLED Ryan! BAD parenting to preach respect and then act contrarily (ie saying she wants him to feel safe, then not allowing him any autonomy). She should've let him leave and come back... or at least explained why she didn't want him to leave before deciding (ex: 'Homelander will kidnap you', etc). She needed to let him make the decision for himself... agh. AAAAA.

And now Butcher's no use because he's committed to being evil and can't offer ANYTHING good to Ryan!!! He was so right, they NEEDED to give Ryan more space... I know the external pressures seemed impossible, but dammit, Grace, this was no way to beat the odds!

That's the answer!!!#And there was a MERE GLIMMER of a chance that Ryan and Homelander could enact that healing #And damn!! After the name of the game being 'kill Homelander' for the other three seasons #seeing the answer be 'violence only exacerbates suffering.. let's make things better instead' .... I went by the dance team's practice today (I was invited by the coach, I'm not THAT weirdo) and when the senior captain saw me she fully burst into tears so I also cried.

I miss these kids a lot.

#personal #i miss coaching so much #the new coach randomly texted me their practice schedule for this week #so i went because i've been getting a lot of texts from the kids #i got texts from three of them about a week and a half ago within 10 minutes begging me to come back and it's breaking my heart #but the senior captain has been MY kid since she was a freshman #there are very few people i would have a two minute hug with lol but she's like my kid #i do appreciate that the new coach let us have our moment though and didn't get upset about it #i think she's trying to use me as an olive branch to the returning kids #especially the captain of the team #i've been trying to make it very clear to the kids that reach out that it's not their job to ask me to be involved #and i love that they want me there #but i know that the coach is not the most thrilled about the fact that they do want me there #if she asks me for help i will be more than happy to give it #i just have more boundaries with her than i did with the previous coach for lots of reasons #the obvious being the prev coach is my best friend #but also i'm not just going to keep offering my help if she doesn't take me up on it #so her reaching out this week was good even if it feels weird #the vibes are OFF i don't know

#kingdom hearts dream drop distance #khddd #the grid #scenery #my gif #the general aesthetic of this world makes most areas feel very samey #i was worried that i wouldn't be able to make this set look varied enough but i think it turned out alright #but i'm glad sora and riku were able to wear unique outfits in this world and that they brought back the lightcycle race #replaying this game made me realize that sora and quorra's friendship is pretty adorable haha #she took one look at that kid and was like our names rhyme we're best friends now let's team up and ditch the other characters #guess i'm a fan of sora befriending computer people because the whole thing with tron/rinzler is really interesting to me #imagine my surprise when i played this game for the first time and saw that sora got through to tron but couldn't save him #and that we don't return back to this world to resolve it #he reached for his hand...

speaking of bsol through speaking of xmas xtrav that like i'm so augh god hand over heart falling over (just like the bloodsong b/c it's the like conclusion of being Overwhelmed By Artistic Effect that then in the ideal version you may as well die) at the thought of the finale where you have the main plot conclude as that Story w/those Themes like ah but even then, the influence, the other the musicians now, that this whole time like yeah you have to do it even if you just keep building or die or were thwarted even prior to that b/c you didn't know you wouldn't be....but that then just like in the opening song Outlaw or sort of distillation of the theme abt being someone making art Last On Land or that at other points other characters have emerged as not really their characters not really a greek chorus but elements of the story helping to Tell It, here's Everyone again for the friendship song altogether & each with an instrument & like not even able to see it but pics & imagining & the enthusiasm & the Thematic Resonance like this is when you are pursuing these pursuits together like _o__ (splayed out facedown emoji) aaauuughhh ;;mm;; bsol finale with everyone showing up playing & singing & dancing the song celebratory finale it's all the Theme when the full cast of Characters had only ever all been together for the one standoff scene at the end & yet obviously We've known them all & everyone is outlaws which is a song like i'm already going sicko mode & this is just the intro, so yknow, The Conclusion, good lord find an iconis musical finale without that place for the celebratory outpouring of enthusiasm right amidst other feelings & situations but Good Lord Here's This in a story that'll always have been all about people's depths & heights & widths & breadths & variations & tumult & all the dimensions, people will have Brought It all over the place & it's like yes leap around together playing & singing this song together which isn't The Story but is such an extension of it b/c bsol has its show within the show quality still infused all in it & if this flurry of Actors Celebrating Outpouring We Put On This Show but still within the show you are seeing as an audience in this venue wouldn't have been part of the original plan with a whole [outside the show within the show] plotline like. embraces bsol holding it so hard my becherished
