Kodansha Announces 13 New Licenses at Sakura-Con

It's a good few, though not too many, licenses that Kodansha's brought out to one-up Yen Press who only revealed theirs a day prior.

More than that though, it's a symbol of the changing tides in business practice for the company as they continue to pivot from digital jail and aim towards new territory that excites a great deal of reader, providing quite a bit of potential for the English manga market.

So I saw this post about Atsushi being a more authentic version of himself when alone with Akutagawa

and I like to imagine that the easiest way to drive Atsushi insane is by forcing him to be around Akutagawa and a member of the ADA that isn’t Dazai at the same time.

He isn’t subtle about it at all and Akutagawa uses it as an opportunity to make a bunch of snide remarks that Atsushi can’t respond to. (He’s also just generally amused by the revelation that the were-tiger isn’t always a dickhead.)

Atsushi at his emotional limit, his need to be an asshole towards Akutagawa warring against his need to be well-loved amongst his co-workers, and Akutagawa won’t stop dog whistling him with references only they know.

Atsushi, throwing himself at Akutagawa the moment his inhibitor has left the vicinity, insults laving off the tongue. It feels so good, like taking off clothes after a long day. No one else can see Atsushi in his true form, no one can see him like this except for Akutagawa.

Mean evil question. We've literally conjured up a million AUs, I can't just choose one.

Well, there is the werewolf au. Always love putting them into a vampire situation, too. We've definitely done a few mermaid ones, as well. There was one au where Beca was a blood witch and tried to hide that because blood witches are vewy scawy uwu but she was literally just protecting herself from her mom.

Childhood besties who get married in the playground, get seperated through their teens and then re-meeting in adult life AU. CHEERLEADER!BECA AU. Retired olympic!ice skater Beca and pop sensation!Emily who both compete in skating with celebrities (featuring Emily as the celeb and Beca as the experienced skater partner of another celeb). Emily's deadbeat dad (canonically super rich) owns a horse ranch and Beca's the stablehand, so when Emily's finally ready to confront his ass she's actually gaystruck by the girl who replaced her AU.

And, of course, one that kind of emotionally tugged on my heartstrings: Beca is a sex worker and Emily's dad hired her to spend some (PLATONIC!) time with his reclused daughter, who's been through some heavy shit

I love LOVE LOVE lovE dazai doing physical combat which he does not do often enough.

my man can send another person flying with a punch, which is why i'm not a fan at all of the popular jokes/headcanon about dazai being physically weak, I mean, I'm sure he doesn't come close to chuuya or atsushi in strength but that doesn't mean he can't defend himself, the only thing here is that dazai prefers to be a strategist and use his brains. or a gun.
