This is for Moth @luciferian-herbivore and all my other chronic-pain-buddies! 💖
After an unfortunate meeting with a certain witcher Sigi Reuven, one of Novigrad’s Big Four, is laid up in bed. He wouldn’t call his visitors friends, but they bring gifts of doubtful comfort, nevertheless.

ADHD is not the “haha quirky” disability that TikTok trends made us out to be, and it’s so so disheartening to realize that some still think about our disability in this light.
Also, ADHD IS a disability. And we are just as disabled as those who have different disabilities. I’ve seen so many people make it like ADHD is like, a “diet” disability or something. To that, there is no such thing.
We struggle SO much. We mask, we develop RSD, our symptoms stress us out SO MUCH, and we’re still seen as “haha look! A squirrel!” Something that’s silly and quirky and glosses over our disability, and make us feel like we’re faking being disabled, that we’re not as disabled as others, or that we’re overreacting,
And idk it’s just kinda sad.

Maysoon Zayid ,Disabled comedian and actress, celebrates her differences
New Jersey — Comedian Maysoon Zayid is many things. Funny is just one of them. “In the oppression Olympics, I would win the gold medal. I’m Palestinian, I’m Muslim, I’m disabled, divorced, a woman of color and I live in New Jersey,” Zayid said. Born with cerebral palsy, Zayid is kicking down barriers in entertainment. The comedian, actress, and disability advocate has taken her career from the…

Stuff I've heard from abled and neurotypical people as a disabled and autistic person
"Are you sure you *really* have that?"
You are just straight up not believing me. Go away.
"We're all a little autistic!"
A strangely common misconception, but y'all gotta stop with it
"But you seem so normal!"
I'm not a freakshow, I'm a human being. I have disabilities that may be invisible to y'all, but they're very much here
"Everyone has some kind of disability."
Not true. Shut up.
"You look fine."
Well, I'm not. Sorry to disappoint. /s
"You need to get over that or you won't make it as you get older."
Really insensitive. I have nothing else to say about that.
"So you're a [r word]?"
Stop calling disabled people this word. It's disgusting. I won't even respond to this if you say it to me.
"I don't think you really need that."
You don't know what accommodations I need.

So I had really hoped things would be a bit better by now, but they aren't (which kinda sucks), so I just wanted to repeat: thank you all for your patience! Especially those waiting on commissions/messages!
I've been really exhausted and pretty depressed for like 6?..8?..weeks now. Other than caring for my nan and the birds, I've spent almost all my time resting/literally asleep, which hasn't left much time/energy for art or even scrolling tumblr. Still, I'm thankful that me and my body have been able to make it through this so far - just gotta keep on keeping on!
#Happy disability pride month to me#I'm sure things will get better soon though#And I am so thankful that my body has allowed me to still care for my nan and the birds#It is doing the best it can right now! And I gotta try to be gentle with it#blog news#disablility#actually disabled

Happy Disability Pride Month!!! Whether it’s chronic, mental, learning, or physical, you and your disability are valid! Celebrate being you, and don’t let the abelists bring you down! You’re awesome, and our disability are our own superpowers. They give us strength, courage, creativity, a different way of thinking, etc! You rock! Celebrate yourself this July, and show those abelists who’s boss! Happy pride!

Happy Disability Pride Month!
Funnily enough it's also the month of my disability benefit review, aka 'we might take away the money you literally need to survive' month! So good vibes/prayers/etc appreciated, as I'm really dreading going through this ordeal again!
And to any disabled person reading this, I'm so sorry we have to go through such difficult, dehumanizing things to 'prove' we deserve the money and accommodations we need to live. It sucks, and I'm sending you all my love and support <3
This is the month for our voices to be heard!

To celebrate Disability Pride Month this year, my chronic pain has decided to be even worse than usual 🎉🎉🎉
But seriously happy disability pride month everyone! As someone with both mental and physical disabilities, I hope this month will help amplify disabled voices, and that on the whole we can work towards getting everyone the support they deserve
#disability pride month#disablility#chronic illness#birblr#shout out to Cambridge uni for being horrifically ableist for the whole 3 years of my degree#shout out to the DWP for making their disability benefits application process 10x harder than it needs to be#and shout out to all my fellow disabled people who are living every day in a world that in so many ways wasn't built for us

I know :/. The world should start accommodating stuff for us, because currently, there’s so much people in our community cant do due to people not thinking of us.
