We Don't Gatekeep Art Resources | A Comprehensive List
Here's a list of some of the tools/sites I currently use or have used previously for works/studies. I'll separate it into Software/Utility, Reference, and 'Other' which will be just general things that could help you map out things for your experience with art. **[Free highlighted in pink, paid highlighted in green. Blue is variable/both. Prices Listed in USD]**
Software/Utility:
2D
Krita Painting app (PC) (my main digital art software on PC for 5+ yrs)
Clip Studio Paint [PC] [CSP 2.0+ allows for 3d modelling within the painting app and a lot of other cool features] [apparently allows up to 6 months free trial]
Procreate (12.99) [iPad/iPad Pro] (the GOAT)
Artstudio Pro [iPad/iPad Pro] (An alternative to Procreate if you enjoy the more traditional art app layout) -- I find this app handy when Procreate is lacking a feature I need, or vice versa. (you can easily transfer files between the two, but keep in mind Procreate's layer limit)
2D "Collaborative Painting/Drawing apps"
Magma Studio
Drawpile
Discord Whiteboard
Gartic Phone (Pretty decent for 2d animation practice, but has a hard limit on frames)
3D
Blender [3D Modelling, Sculpting + Layout] (PC)
Sculptris [PC] (it's an old unsupported version of Zbrush, but can help to get ideas out, and functions better than browser sculpting apps
Nomad Sculpt [iPad/iPad Pro] ($20) Works pretty well if you prefer a mobile setup, but it is a bit intense on the battery life and takes some getting used to
References + Study
Magic Poser [ PC and Mobile ] Has both free and paid versions, I've made do with just the lite version before
Artpose ($9.99) [Iphone + Steam]
Head Model Studio [IPhone] A 3D head, with both a basic blockout version for angles, and a paid version with more detail
Cubebrush [simply search "[keyword] pose reference pack"], they usually have good results + they frequently have sales!
Line of Action [Good for Gesture practice + daily sketching], also has other resources built in.
Quickposes Similar to Line of action, more geared toward anatomy
Drawabox | Perspective Fundamentals Improvement modules (Suggested by @taffingspy )
Sketchfab, this skull in particular is useful, but there is other models that can help you study anatomy as well.
Pinterest can be good, you just have to be careful, usually you're better off just finding reference pack if you have the money, sometimes certain creators have freebies as well
Artstation Marketplace can be decent [make sure to turn on the Aye-Eye filter so it doesn't feed you trash], a colleague of mine recommended this head model for practicing facial blocking, there is also this free version without lighting.
Local Art Museums [Unironically good for studying old "master work" if you're into that, or even just getting some inspiration]
Brushes + Other Useful software:
I personally have used both of these brush packs before making my own
(I actually don't know how to share my daily brush set because I frequently switch between Krita, Procreate, and ASP, but once I figure that out I'll be sure to do that lol)
Marc Brunet's Starter brush pack [Technically free but supporting him for this if you like it is ideal, there's some good brushes]
Dave Greco Brush Pack [$3]
Gumroad in general is a good place to find brushes and art resources. *Note; for Krita specifically, brush packs are a bit weird, so it may require you to find different packs, or import them in a particular way
PureRef [PC] - Reference Compiler/Moodboarding
VizRef ($3.99) [iPad] - Moodboarding/Reference Compiler
Artist Youtubers/Creators that helped me improve/guide me along as a self-taught artist from when I first started digital art to where I am today:
Proko
Marco Bucci
Sinix Design
Sycra
Hardy Fowler
Lighting Mentor
Winged Canvas
Moderndayjames
Swatches
Chommang_drawing
Marc Brunet (YTartschool)
+ Observing a lot of speedpaint art by people whose work I enjoy on social media/youtube, trying to dissect their processes
If you've gotten this far, first of all, congrats, you can read a lot, and second of all, thank you for reading and I hope this helps! I'll continue to come back and update this if I find any new resources in the future, or if my processes change :)
Much Love,
-Remidiy

▶️▶️▶️OPEN LETTER TO THE MILITARY◀️◀️◀️

🔴🔴🔴
We the people are asking you to help us take back our country and our sovereignty from the corporations, the Fed banksters and the corrupt politicians. We are FIRING every single one of them!!! They no longer represent us; that's why they are FIRED!!!! We are tired of being slaves and paying taxes, of our government wasting our money and it is not even backed by gold which is worthless paper of the illegal and corrupt Fed!!! We want the 2020 election to be rigged; we know you all know JB the pedo did NOT win. We have the right to dissolve the government when all other measures have been exhausted. We tried protests on January 6th, convoys, mass protests, went to school board meetings, town hall meetings, attended the Trump rallies, the rightful winner!! Social Media Warriors Voting: Voting machines rigged & EVERYTHING was rigged, watch the movie RIGGED and Mike Lendel's proof. We have lost friends and family members to Covid, to toxic vaccines, and to sharing the terrible truth about everything that has been hidden from us for decades. Kennedy's assassination and 9/11 are just two of the hundreds of examples we could cite. We are tired of fighting wars and paying for wars we DON'T want!!! We do NOT want to support wars unless enemies attack us. We want our land back and demand that you act on our behalf as quickly as possible. We want action, we want our sovereignty. We never agreed to be a mini-corporation when we were born and have all the Capitol letters on our birth certificates!!!! We have never agreed to be traded like cattle while others unknowingly make money off us. We refuse to be slaves to the deep state for even a moment longer. We want NESARA to be implemented as quickly as possible. We will install a different, much smaller government once these horrible, incompetent people are fired and prosecuted for their crimes against us and our CHILDREN. Patriots who agree, please share this. Military personnel reading this please forward this message from “We the People” to their commanders. Please reply to us via the EAS system. Patriots, this needs to go viral on every platform. We the people have spoken. The military must now act on our behalf. Before we run out of land!!!!!
Respectfully,
USA AMERICAN PEOPLE

i had an insane dream last night…
#the whole thing was framed as a movie i was watching#but also i was living out the events of the movie#but anyways the entire human collective consciousness existed as membrane of thin glowing strings#and it was located in a ship#and there were these two guys trying to sever humanities connection to it#anyways i like lept into the membrane to go after them#and it was just like an endless carpeted back rooms filled with giant steps and streams of water that were running through#idk it is very hard to describe what it felt like#other stuff happened after that’s hard to explain or remember#but the meaning i got from it was how access to so much information via phones and the internet#it’s like messing with our ability to synthesize information#and it replacing our way of knowing#idk…. idk it was a lot actually#i remember like crying in the theater in my dream#when the movie reached its climax#and i looked down at my phone screen and there was like pink glowing fractal cracks in the screen#and i asked everyone in the theater to share whatever little experiences or memories they felt like were important with eachother#and each new memory created a new string which helped rebuild the collective knowledge#it was important somehow that the information was coming from sharing stories in person#and not digitally i think#ANYWAYS#i just needed to get that out somewhere

Avalon because I got very distracted.
His armour was cool so for the most part I kept it similar. It is Paladin armour but it’s really old Paladin armour that hasn’t been changed since magic-proof fabric was made easy public access. Also that pendant thing is a Paladin’s seal and it’s required for a Paladin to have it visible at all times when in public (it’s sort of like a police badge that you can’t hide but Paladins are far better than police)
#fun facts about Avalon!#he’s absolutely littered with scars and his left hand was amputated and he uses a Zenethian prosthetic#he uses a glamour spell and gloves to cover it up#but his hand writing and fine motor skills suffer greatly#he also wears a magic corset that functions sort of like a back brace#because this guy has been in so many fights#it’s because of all these injuries that he decided to take a step back and just be a teacher and share his knowledge#winx#winx club#winx avalon#winx redesign#winx rewrite#enjoy :)#art#digital art#my art#I’m not gonna post eldora becagse it’s late and I’m tired

Theyre going to think I like canon and purely canon if I keep going on like this
#i. despite my many complaints. do enjoy comics. and going into the Comic Reading Fandom#there is a shocking amount of people who are purely in the fandom but have never interacted with the source#while i do believe its fine to dabble in something you haven't seen the source for yet but plan to#being a creating active presence in fandom for something youre not a fan of. just doesn't sit with me#its just a bit baffling. to be a fan of the fandom amd never touch the canon#like lifelong christians who attend every service and judge others based on gods word. who have never even read the full bible.#its just all the pastors word and stories n verses they grew up with#thats exactly how i see it I fear#fanon dynamics and tropes heavily overwhelm the canon. and i tend to prefer the canon. so it gets frustrating#not to mention how many popular ones completely flip characters. reinforce stereotypes. have even more confusing timelines. etc#its like the online fan equivalent of years of domestication and breeding that turned wolves to pugs#not that extreme but you get me#i mess with canon. i like to get silly with it. i like to fuck around#plenty of things i dont like i Will ignore or rewrite! or make an au where i can do whatever on earth i want#i dont respect canon or think its the end all be all and if you step one foot out of line of canon ill maul you like an angry dog#its just like! maybe read the one singular comic issue youre about base your entire interpretation on the fanon version of#this is ending in just me complaining about titans tower yeah. sorry. its the prime example i fear#but at least its easy to filter out#man! if i just had a way to filter things out better..#sometimes it reaches the point where i consider just blocking the entire tim tag. sorry tim#i Will uplift the community i desire instead of focusing on my hatred and complaining!!#i just need to get out of art block and find cool blogs to follow that Get Me to help me out first!!#unfortunately i have a really weird complex about following people especially if they followed me first!!!#not sure what thats about!!#but ill get to the other things!!!#i am also just a complainer though !#and i get into arguments alot without realizing it because i love noting every detail and correcting people!!#i tried to put every william mention and appearance from tse in a google doc. and with ralpho. thsoe got much easier when i got#digital copies of the fnaf books. but what im saying is i LOVE having all the facts n details abt my blorbos. esp in over detailed notes.fu#havijg all the references on hand! and sharing my precious beautiful knowledge. carefully noted bc my poor memory. very delightful. fun!

Ahoy!
I'm currently sailing the oh so rough seas that is exam time, so I'm going to be away for a bit longer. I just once again have to express how happy I am every time i see interactions with this blog, even though I've been very inactive recently. It really has helped strengthen and keep up my resolve in wanting to help make digital privacy, piracy and computer knowledge more accessible for as many as I can. So again, a big THANK YOU to you all for being here!
I've been considering if there would be any interest in me trying to create a more in-depth resource for finding ways to improve your quality of live when using computers and the like?
While my first thought was a simple list, I know that those can get overwhelming really quick. So I've been playing around with the idea of a "clippy"-like addon to the blog that can offer you directions to common issues (such as, "How do i remove the 'search on the web' results on Windows 10?", "What browser-addons should I have?" and "How to speed up YouTube on FireFox?"). I think I would also want to have it be accessible through a GitHub-page, so that mobile-users also could easily access it, and so you all have other options than to only have it accessed through a Tumblr blog.
#The sailor's thoughts#Piracy#Privacy#Computer tweaks#tumblr polls#I need some fun and useful coding project to look forward to during these last weeks of exams#I'm gonna claim that this is warming up for the essay writing I've gotta do next#University really has been the best school-experience I've been through so far. Closing in on that Bachelor's degree in Digital Culture#Currently taking three classes in an attempt to catch up to my peers because they've been very sweet to me.#Been learning a lot about both accessibility and dark patterns in web design and I also want to share what I've learnt at some point#Knowledge is for sharing and I want to make it easier and maybe even fun to learn about digital culture#Because that shit is so important in this digital age of ours#And I think a bunch of the stuff that I've learnt should be more common knowledge and to do that the material needs to be more accessible#And with that I attempt to return to writing about self-representation on Tumblr. Because apparently I could write an essay about that???#Also that ADHD-medicine drought going on has been pretty bad. Sending some extra love to any and all affected by it <3

am having the weirdest issue w/ this dvd i bought online, where like, it plays but the video is deeply fucked up and jerky/skipping therefore unsyncing it from the audio (which is fine). BUT. only on the xbox. i found one single solitary review saying it ended up working fine on a regular dvd player and lo and behold, tried it on my dad's laptop and it's true! How? Why? Who Fucking Knows! Now i gotta go dig our fucking oldass dvd player outta basement storage bc lord knows neither my new laptop nor my old laptop has one -_-
it's fuckin weird, tho, right? Like, there were other amazon reviews mentioning the issue but just the one about the xbox vs dvd drive thing, and there were def other ppl positively reviewing the dvd itself and not just the movie (they mentioned the extra features). i also kept finding one-off comments on various reddit threads that mention the issue but never any resolution. i even logged on to facebook (gag) on my computer and scrolled alllllll the way back to 2017/2018 on the movie's official fb page and again. just the occasional comment about the issue and like 1 single reply on 1 comment mentioning the xbox thing ://///
#also its just. not a gr8 quality dvd? its NOT a bootleg but u could be forgiven 4 thinking so based on packaging#and the video is a lot more grainy than when i watched on streaming. AND theres no captions !!!! unforgivable imho#it shouldnt be a region issue bc wouldnt it just. not play then? plus its an american release anyways#im very annoyed tbh and i want a replacement not a refund but it doesnt give me that option on amazon.....#the aforementioned fb comment reply said that updating the xbox's firmware/software might resolve the issue#but we already have ours set to update automatically so it Should be up to date anyways......#ah well. literally only bought it bc of extra scenes/bts stuff but still :( be nice 2 not have 2 find and set up a whole nother device.....#ended up buying a digital copy plus the 2 others in the trilogy since they didnt even get physical releases.....#blegh. hate this digital movie library shit. i dont even know the signin for the microsoft account bc its a shared console!#i DID see some1 online say that they ripped the dvd and could then play THAT on the xbox but that is. beyond my limited knowledge#bro i dont even buy blurays idk wtf im doing here#the fb page does still seem 2 be updating abt recent projects but the website isnt up any longer so. 🤷#its not a Big Name Movie ig they have outright said on the fb page that eg. they couldnt afford 2 also do a bluray release or smth idek#this whole thing is baffling honestly

Story Concept for Wall Art Painting – Bruce Onobrakpeya’s Urban Patterns and Landscapes
Echoes of the Metropolis
In the bustling heart of a mythical city, where past and future coexist in an intricate dance, Bruce Onobrakpeya’s printmaking serves as the inspiration for a vivid wall art painting. This piece weaves together the rhythmic energy of urban life with the quiet whispers of natural landscapes hidden beneath the city’s industrial veneer.
A sprawling metropolis emerges in layers, each one a tapestry of geometric forms, organic textures, and vibrant hues. The foreground features a network of streets and buildings, their sharp angles softened by intricate etchings reminiscent of Onobrakpeya’s signature style. These etchings are alive, filled with symbols of community, heritage, and tradition.
Between the buildings, hidden patterns emerge—triangles morph into mountains, while winding curves transform into rivers. These subtle hints reveal the land’s original topography, a nod to the coexistence of man and nature.
Artistic Features
Urban Patterns:
The cityscape is depicted with vivid, repeating motifs—rows of windows, grids of streets, and dots representing the hum of city lights.
The patterns have a tactile quality, layered with textures resembling hand-carved prints.
Landscapes Within:
Beneath the urban patterns, the faint outlines of a natural landscape emerge.
Fields, hills, and rivers are hidden in plain sight, representing how nature persists amidst urbanization.
Cultural Symbols:
Embedded in the artwork are cultural motifs—indigenous patterns, tribal masks, and symbolic elements like the sun and moon, grounding the piece in Onobrakpeya’s Nigerian heritage.
Colors and Vividness:
Rich earthy tones of ochre, burnt sienna, and deep green contrast with electric blues, yellows, and metallic silvers that echo the vibrancy of city life.
Narrative
The painting tells a story of transformation. It begins with the land untouched, represented by the serene bottom layer of the artwork. As the viewer’s eye moves upward, the patterns of humanity emerge—buildings, roads, and lights symbolizing the rise of the urban sprawl. Amidst the transformation, nature fights to remain visible, represented by trees growing between cracks in the cityscape and rivers snaking through the concrete jungle.
In the center of the painting, a figure stands a storyteller, etched in intricate detail. This figure represents Bruce Onobrakpeya’s legacy, a bridge between the old and the new, the rural and the urban. Surrounding the figure are spirals and waves, suggesting the flow of stories and history.
Emotional Impact
Wonder: The intricate details draw viewers in, making them explore every corner of the painting.
Nostalgia: The hidden natural landscapes evoke memories of a simpler time, contrasting with the urban vibrancy.
Reflection: The artwork inspires contemplation about the relationship between humans, nature, and culture in modern life.
This wall art painting, inspired by Bruce Onobrakpeya’s printmaking, serves as a visual metaphor for the complex harmony between urbanization and the natural world. It is a vivid celebration of patterns, landscapes, and cultural heritage, designed to captivate and provoke thought in any space it inhabits.

Maximizing Retail Profits: Harnessing B2B Price Optimization Software
In the ever-evolving world of retail and e-commerce, businesses are constantly seeking ways to gain a competitive edge. Among the many strategies employed, B2B Price Optimization and Management Software stands out as a game-changer. Price optimisation and management (PO&M) software solutions enable businesses to oversee and optimize the prices of their goods and services. These services also provide a growing range of sales intelligence advice, such as best-next-action suggestions and customer churn warnings. In the industry, vendors either focus on back-office price management and product management roles, or they focus on providing real-time sales intelligence to sales representatives and B2B digital commerce websites, or both. Quadrant Knowledge Solutions, a leading global advisory and consulting firm, has recognized the significance of this technology in their report, “B2B Price Optimization and Management Applications, 2023”. Quadrant Knowledge Solutions focuses on helping clients in achieving business transformation goals with Strategic Business, and Growth Advisory Services.

Understanding the Retail and E-commerce Landscape
The retail and e-commerce industry is a highly dynamic and competitive space. Companies within this domain face the continuous challenge of pricing their products right to maximize profitability while staying attractive to their customers. In this context, pricing becomes a critical element of their strategy. Let's delve into some of these challenges:
Rapidly Changing Market Dynamics: Retail and e-commerce markets are highly volatile, with ever-shifting consumer preferences and market trends. Adapting to these changes in real-time is essential to stay competitive. Without the right tools, businesses risk making pricing decisions that are out of sync with market realities.
Intense Competition: In retail and e-commerce, competition is fierce. With numerous players offering similar products or services, pricing becomes a key differentiator. Setting prices too high can drive customers away, while pricing too low can erode profit margins.
Complex Supply Chain and Cost Structures: The retail and e-commerce sector often deals with complex supply chain operations and cost structures. Understanding the true costs associated with a product or service is essential for setting optimal prices. Traditional methods of cost calculation can be time-consuming and error-prone.
Customer Behaviour and Expectations: Today's consumers are more informed and price-sensitive than ever before. Their buying behaviour can change rapidly in response to various factors, including promotions, discounts, and market trends. Retailers must be agile in responding to these changes.
Competitor Pricing Strategies: Keeping a constant eye on competitor pricing is crucial. Businesses need to respond promptly to pricing moves made by competitors to remain competitive. Manual tracking and analysis of competitor pricing are arduous and inefficient processes.

also in regards to that last article about varied ways of thinking about psychosis/altered states that don't just align with medical model or carceral psychiatry---I always love sharing about Bethel House and their practices of peer support for schizophrenia that are founded on something called tojisha kenkyu, but I don't see it mentioned as often as things like HVN and Soteria House.
ID: [A colorful digital drawing of a group of people having a meeting inside a house while it snows outside.]
"What really set the stage for tōjisha-kenkyū were two social movements started by those with disabilities. In the 1950s, a new disability movement was burgeoning in Japan, but it wasn’t until the 1970s that those with physical disabilities, such as cerebral palsy, began to advocate for themselves more actively as tōjisha. For those in this movement, their disability is visible. They know where their discomfort comes from, why they are discriminated against, and in what ways they need society to change. Their movement had a clear sense of purpose: make society accommodate the needs of people with disabilities. Around the same time, during the 1970s, a second movement was started by those with mental health issues, such as addiction (particularly alcohol misuse) and schizophrenia. Their disabilities are not always visible. People in this second movement may not have always known they had a disability and, even after they identify their problems, they may remain uncertain about the nature of their disability. Unlike those with physical and visible disabilities, this second group of tōjisha were not always sure how to advocate for themselves as members of society. They didn’t know what they wanted and needed from society. This knowing required new kinds of self-knowledge.
As the story goes, tōjisha-kenkyū emerged in the Japanese fishing town of Urakawa in southern Hokkaido in the early 2000s. It began in the 1980s when locals who had been diagnosed with psychiatric disorders created a peer-support group in a run-down church, which was renamed ‘Bethel House’. The establishment of Bethel House (or just Bethel) was also aided by the maverick psychiatrist Toshiaki Kawamura and an innovative social worker named Ikuyoshi Mukaiyachi. From the start, Bethel embodied the experimental spirit that followed the ‘antipsychiatry’ movement in Japan, which proposed ideas for how psychiatry might be done differently, without relying only on diagnostic manuals and experts. But finding new methods was incredibly difficult and, in the early days of Bethel, both staff and members often struggled with a recurring problem: how is it possible to get beyond traditional psychiatric treatments when someone is still being tormented by their disabling symptoms? Tōjisha-kenkyū was born directly out of a desperate search for answers.
In the early 2000s, one of Bethel’s members with schizophrenia was struggling to understand who he was and why he acted the way he did. This struggle had become urgent after he had set his own home on fire in a fit of anger. In the aftermath, he was overwhelmed and desperate. At his wits’ end about how to help, Mukaiyachi asked him if perhaps he wanted to kenkyū (to ‘study’ or ‘research’) himself so he could understand his problems and find a better way to cope with his illness. Apparently, the term ‘kenkyū’ had an immediate appeal, and others at Bethel began to adopt it, too – especially those with serious mental health problems who were constantly urged to think about (and apologise) for who they were and how they behaved. Instead of being passive ‘patients’ who felt they needed to keep their heads down and be ashamed for acting differently, they could now become active ‘researchers’ of their own ailments. Tōjisha-kenkyū allowed these people to deny labels such as ‘victim’, ‘patient’ or ‘minority’, and to reclaim their agency.
Tōjisha-kenkyū is based on a simple idea. Humans have long shared their troubles so that others can empathise and offer wisdom about how to solve problems. Yet the experience of mental illness is often accompanied by an absence of collective sharing and problem-solving. Mental health issues are treated like shameful secrets that must be hidden, remain unspoken, and dealt with in private. This creates confused and lonely people, who can only be ‘saved’ by the top-down knowledge of expert psychiatrists. Tōjisha-kenkyū simply encourages people to ‘study’ their own problems, and to investigate patterns and solutions in the writing and testimonies of fellow tōjisha.
Self-reflection is at the heart of this practice. Tōjisha-kenkyū incorporates various forms of reflection developed in clinical methods, such as social skills training and cognitive behavioural therapy, but the reflections of a tōjisha don’t begin and end at the individual. Instead, self-reflection is always shared, becoming a form of knowledge that can be communally reflected upon and improved. At Bethel House, members found it liberating that they could define themselves as ‘producers’ of a new form of knowledge, just like the doctors and scientists who diagnosed and studied them in hospital wards. The experiential knowledge of Bethel members now forms the basis of an open and shared public domain of collective knowledge about mental health, one distributed through books, newspaper articles, documentaries and social media.
Tōjisha-kenkyū quickly caught on, making Bethel House a site of pilgrimage for those seeking alternatives to traditional psychiatry. Eventually, a café was opened, public lectures and events were held, and even merchandise (including T-shirts depicting members’ hallucinations) was sold to help support the project. Bethel won further fame when their ‘Hallucination and Delusion Grand Prix’ was aired on national television in Japan. At these events, people in Urakawa are invited to listen and laugh alongside Bethel members who share stories of their hallucinations and delusions. Afterwards, the audience votes to decide who should win first prize for the most hilarious or moving account. One previous winner told a story about a failed journey into the mountains to ride a UFO and ‘save the world’ (it failed because other Bethel members convinced him he needed a licence to ride a UFO, which he didn’t have). Another winner told a story about living in a public restroom at a train station for four days to respect the orders of an auditory hallucination. Tōjisha-kenkyū received further interest, in and outside Japan, when the American anthropologist Karen Nakamura wrote A Disability of the Soul: An Ethnography of Schizophrenia and Mental Illness in Contemporary Japan (2013), a detailed and moving account of life at Bethel House.
