Oh this is a fun card to play with and I like it's ability and it's art, like a cool plant ninja. Let's go see if they're in any of the video games.

Mother Blocker (Gaio) is a deck that focuses on evolving the Hybrid Digimon overtop the Digipolice, and breaking the Mind Link to go wide, while also building your Hybrid stack into Gaiomon. The Mind Link can be reestablished once the Digimon has the X-Antibody trait again with MetalGreymon (X-Antibody) or Gaiomon. While Mind Link with Shuu Yulin, Alliance can be used to gain Mother D-Reaper’s massive 15000 DP and at the end of the player’s turn, Shoto Kazama can give a Digimon (usually Mother D) Blocker and Piercing.
Set Requirements: BT18
Color: White, Red, Yellow, Green, Black, Purple
Keywords: Alliance, Blast Digivolve, Blitz, Blocker, De-Digivolve, Jamming, Mind Link, Piercing, Reboot Security A+1

He was a dueling champion and all but I think Keith’s actual favourite part of Duel Monsters was deck-building, on account of like. He’s one of the few (if only) duelists we see in DM that has and uses multiple types of decks to this extent, like completely different cards and playstyles. Throughout the Duelist Kingdom arc alone he’s shown using three separate decks (with the implication of at least two more vicariously through Takaido and Satake). He kept a bunch on hand with the insinuation he knew them all well enough use them interchangeably and knew how to supplement other decks. Machines may be what he’s most associated with but I don’t think that was like, his favourite or most used or anything, just what he thought was most convenient at the time (and then all he was left with for R). R of course having my forever favourite scene where he’s pissy about having to use a card that doesn’t fit his deck build, even when the card in question is a literal God card. It just seems like he hones in on this aspect of the game a lot more than other characters lol.
#ooc ;#this post partially brought to you by my digica friend ranting about ppl who only use one deck/playstyle lol

First impressions after playing the Digimon Card Game a bunch yesterday:
* I definitely picked my colors right, Red and Purple are SO fun to play (I will never beat the Mardu accusations even in other card games)
* security is such a good and interesting mechanic, getting to deal 6 damage to your opponent before they you is a surprisingly hard feat.
* bursts of hitting security with high level digimon are way better than just summoning a weak digimon every turn to chip it away
* yellow is like???? Really good??? Fully the Green of this game's Magic the Gathering, able to control a part of the game itself
* my most interesting turns have been when I have had little memory to work with.
* getting your big digimon out is way better than patiently digivolving through each step, skip levels where you can
* that said, the breeding area is a way more useful area than I thought, if you want to make sure you get a guy as high a level as he can he, keep him in the breeding area for several turns.
* offensive training and its equivalents are like? Really good????! It always feel so satisfying to search up a high level card and on the next turn get a discount to digivolve into it.
* Tamers feel expensive but are super worth it
* 99% of Tamers will not fit into a deck not built around whatever digimon that tamer had in their stor.
* blitz is SO good???!!!
* your digimon will die more than any given leomon hence why it's better to get big digimon out fast rather than super big
* dear God though, hard playing almost any digimon besides rookies and ones you get a major discount on feels BAD. Don't be like me.
*This effect will go off WAY more than you think it will.
* the uniqueness deck building mechanic is still so strange to me. It feels weird to be able to have up to 8 of the same game piece in your deck because they have different art so they aren't seen as the same card.
* this game rules like a lot
* guys there are SO many digimon, I know like upwards of 10 of them
* the color pie is really well thought out in this game. I played against Yellow, Green, Blue, and Black, and Red and all of the games felt distinct with different things I could exploit and different things they could exploit.
* I need to look into option cards more.
* if you are planning on including a card in your deck in the hopes that it will be in the security stack, you are a fool unless you are playing yellow.
* having color coded triggers and abilities is SO good and makes the cards so easy to read.
* there are so many cute digimon. I love them all.
#thank you to the folks who recommended the game and who played with me yesterday!#this game is a lot of fun to play and i can't wait to play it more and learn more about its subsystems and intricacies#digimon#digica#now i gotta get into anything digimon that isn't the card game#I will watch you one day Tamers

Archetype: Royal Base
Debuts: BT-18
Last updated: BT-19
Boss monster: QueenBeemon, TigerVespamon
Main tamer: Winr/Saikiyo
Additional tamers: Kisakata Kousuke, Xu Yulin, Musha Yuuji
Fun thing about the bees: they have like five traits. They're Cyborg, they're X-Antibody, they're Royal Base, half of them are LIBERATOR, and then they're all Rule: Treated as [Insectoid]. What this means is that, even though there's only one in-archetype level 3 right now, you can stock up on searchers. Kokuwamon X-Antibody will hit two out of three on a search. Kokabuterimon will hit one out of four. Never will you hurt for draw power!
The big thing the bees bring to the table as an archetype is the concept of face-up security cards. Previously, your security was always a private area, but the bees can set shields face-up, and many of them have a new type of Security effect that triggers while they're face-up instead of when they're checked.
Tamer Winr/Saikiyo (BT19-084): Gains you a memory at start of main if you have a face-up shield. By suspending him, you can evolve one of your digimon into a face-up shield, then place another bee face-up in security.
Level 2 Puroromon (BT18-004): At the start of your main, you can place a bee face-up to take your top security to the hand (thus gradually accumulating face-up shields while your total security remains the same). Since this triggers no matter what the egg was evolved into, one might consider running Ukkomons to speed up egg usage.
Level 3 FunBeemon (BT18-044): Same effect as Puroromon but as an on-play instead of start of main. Gives a flat +1k on inherited. While it's a face-up shield, all your bees get +1k.
Level 4 Waspmon (BT18-046): None of your opponent's digimon with less DP than the wasp can swing at security. Gives a flat +1k on inherited. While it's a face-up shield, all your bees get +1k.
Level 4 ForgeBeemon (BT19-048): When either player's effect would take one of your bees out of the battle area, prevent it by placing this digimon as a face-up shield (without taking your top security to the hand). Gives a flat +1k on inherited. While it's a face-up shield, all your bees get +1k.
Level 5 CannonBeemon (BT18-052): When evolving or on play, de-evolve one of your opponent's digimon by 1 card for each of your face-up shields. Gives "trash your opponent's top security when you delete an opponent's digimon in battle and survive" on inherited. While it's a face-up shield, all your bees get Blocker.
Level 5 Vespamon (BT19-052): When evolving or on play, delete one of your opponent's digimon with a play cost of 2+2n or less where you have n face-up shields. Gives "trash your opponent's top security when you delete an opponent's digimon in battle and survive" on inherited. While it's a face-up shield, all your bees get Blocker.
Level 6 TigerVespamon (BT18-056): Piercing and Reboot face effects. When evolving, suspend as many opponent digimon as you have face-up shields, then none of their digimon can unsuspend. When another digimon is deleted, unsuspend.
Level 6 QueenBeemon (BT19-053): Alliance face effect. When attacking, play a bee from your face-up shields with its play cost reduced by 8. Whenever one of your bees would leave the battle area outside of battle, place it as a face-up shield instead.
If you have a TigerVespamon with sources, and Yulin mindlinked for the alliance, you can potentially knock out five security at once (alliance check piercing into an enemy digimon, level 5 inherit trashes top security, TigerVespamon unsuspends when a digimon is deleted, do another alliance check) then hybrid for game or something.
Build Advice
As this archetype is literally brand-new, the community is still experimenting with deckbuilding. Here's a basic, no-frills example:
["BT18-004","BT18-004","BT18-004","BT18-004","P-106","P-106","P-106","ST15-16","ST15-16","ST15-16","ST17-12","ST17-12","BT15-087","BT15-087","BT19-084","BT19-084","BT19-084","BT19-084","BT16-082","BT16-082","BT18-044","BT18-044","BT18-044","BT18-044","BT9-046","BT9-046","P-118","P-118","P-118","P-123","ST17-02","ST17-02","BT18-046","BT18-046","BT18-046","BT18-046","BT19-048","BT19-048","BT19-048","BT19-048","BT18-052","BT18-052","BT18-052","BT18-052","BT19-052","BT19-052","BT19-052","BT19-052","BT18-056","BT18-056","BT18-056","BT19-053","BT19-053","BT19-053"]
Notice the lack of a Quartzmon, unusual in green decks. For one thing, Quartzmon isn't an X-Antibody, and for another, I mean, who needs level 7s when your top end and mindlink tamer have Alliance? (also your friends will probably hate you if you quartz for game)
Due to the [Insectoid] trait, many people opt to include one or two of Motimon to get extra swings off. I personally have found that I need to get as much face-up security as possible early on, so I prefer to max out on Puroromon instead. For the same reason, the classic RhinoKabuterimon might find a home here, but I'd personally feel apprehensive about including cards without the X-Antibody trait.
glad to see those spreading the truth
