Dp x dc twin au where Danny and Damian were in fact conjoined/siamese twins, but the most dangerous type - one head, two bodies.
Their early removal from talia being because their shape would not have allowed for natural birth, they were written off but talia begged for the chance to send them off in the lazarus pit.
By some bizarre miracle, before she turned to leave, two small bodies bobbed to the surface - identical in every way, except for the eyes. The previous blue eyes now split in two, one left, one right, and the new eyes, pit created, a bright green.
She took her child, her two children, and together, they survived.
Being removed prematurely, their early years were tough, but soon they blossomed into promising heirs for the league. In sync with every step, the closest of brothers, the league was certain the old fairy tale of twins being telepathic had been granted by the pit that separated them, the remnants of being born as one mind, one brain, one skull.
But then Danny had to flee, and leave his other half behind. Stretched by distance for the first time, the bond grew thin and stretched, and Damian grieved his brother as dead. When he started being sent on public missions, he hid his distinctive heterochromia, choosing the green in memory of the pit that had given him and his brother life.
Danny, hiding his pit aura in the ocean's worth that was Amity park, took to blue, the colour that he and Damian were born with.
Damian moves to Gotham, and continues to mourn his brother as dead, right until one day when he is twelve, when he learns what the death of your other half truly feels like.

Their reunion is a thing of family legend. Violence runs hot in both bloodlines, ghosts are highly emotional and prone to fighting a the drop of a hat for bonding, playing, testing, every reason under the green sun. Their training and play often consisted of friendly spars, competitive spars, furious spars, venting spars. Both have been exposed to unhealthy amounts of ecto since before their birth.
There is a long, long minute of staring, before they rip themselves away and lunge at each other like wolves.
The bat family are horrified by their brutally efficient youngest suddenly barreling towards a clone (?) and trying to claw his throat open with his bare hands while openly sobbing.
It ends with them wrapped around each other crying into the others shoulder as their minds finally meet again and relax from the painful stretch for the first time in years.
Apparently earlier this month somebody figured out how to perform a remote arbitrary code execution attack against your own co-op partner in Portal 2 (it's since been patched), which, don't get me wrong, is a very serious netcode fuckup on Valve's part, especially for having gone unreported for so long, but it's also a very funny problem for Portal 2 in particular to have.
While I personally prefer the industrial aesthetic of Portal 2, it's kinda hard to deny that Portal 1's BTS areas had a sort of vibe to them that is unlike Portal 2's take on it.
The industrial areas from Portal 1 are basically a hell of nonsensical technology. It's hilarious, it seems like GLaDOS rebuilding the place from scratch after her awakening somehow made it arguably LESS of a nightmare.
I mean, just look at this.
That's not so bad? OK. It gets worse.
Why did Aperture have these devices.
What do these pistons even DO they're just here to crush people and smudge up the ceilings with MOLD. Did they put these here so the janitors would always have massive stains on the ceiling they would have to clean (or, more than likely, die trying)?????????
Some of these areas look like they wouldn't even be TRAVERSABLE unless they just handed portal guns out willy nilly.
You know you've fucked up when the homicidal robot is more generous with catwalk placement than whatever termite mound of construction workers that had to pile on top of eachother to build all of this. The only areas I'd argue look even remotely hospitable are the offices, which actually do look kinda cozy, but you'd probably end up getting squashed by a stray piston before you could even GET there.
Y'know Chell is pretty formidable but I think who we really need to fear is whoever the hell worked maintenance before the incident because if you can survive this building-sized tetanus-infested oven I'm pretty sure not even the fuckin Combine would be much of an issue for you.
"Oh yeah I had to dodge like 10 pistons in order to get to Turret Manufacturing" like JESUS CHRIST.
Sometimes I think about the potential possibility of Leo accidentally portaling himself to the Prison Dimension should his powers develop enough. Considering how much he struggled with them at first, if they were to get stronger, and moreso, if it became easier for him to portal to places he’d been before…I can imagine that developing into a constant, looming threat in the back of his mind.
Why exactly does Chell tie the jumpsuit around her waist instead of wearing it? I mean I can pretty much guess why but I think I've seen someone say the devs said the exact reason so it would be nice to know that
In Portal 2’s developer commentary, they talk a lil about the design choices for Chell. A developer commentary node by Realm Lovejoy explains a bit of the process behind redoing Chell, and she shares this tidbit about her jumpsuit:
“…we didn't want players to not recognize her, so we kept a lot of the iconic elements like the color orange. She has folded down her jumpsuit to show she has essentially rolled up her sleeves and shed some of the Aperture label...she is awake again to test, but stronger and more determined than ever.”
In short - it’s just to show her independence, she is no longer just another Test Subject at Aperture Science, she is Chell.
the tf2 fandom on tumblr is in such dire straits, it wraps around from being annoying to being funny
no one knows anything about the time period it's set in. no one knows anything about the time period it was written in. no one knows the media genre it's parodying. no one knows how to write mostly-middleaged, mostly-white men who are intentionally and comedically a product of their time and individual cultures. no one seems to even realize each character is hugely informed by (the stereotyped version of) their culture. no one is comfortable engaging with the old war propaganda it's satirizing. no one knows anything about guns. some people actually think the sniper is 26
it's hard to watch, but then again the official comics post-2015 fall into every single one of these pitfalls too so like. maybe a lack of media literacy isn't just a fandom problem
Her gloves are clearly flat against her hand, no doubt about it.
But look how different her hand gear is in her concept art, the one where her hands are purposely obscured by her weapon- which never happens in concept arts they show us- as if to hide the significance of what she’s wearing on her hands. Summer is VERY CLEARLY wearing some typa metal armor, almost like….
…she was wearing some pieces of red, metallic, sharp-shaped, skeletal armor. Almost like one last gift, one last bit of protection right before a mission gone wrong, one last “I know I left, but I still love you” right before the rose bloomed for the final time.
