Mmmm Dear Evan Hansen AU...

Honestly I love coming up with fandom aus based on the songs from Dead Evan Hansen, I've done it twice now, and I want to make an animatic for this story I've come up with for SaSi...

It's kinda all over the place, but each little thing is a line from some of the songs, this was mostly just for doodle purposes, I hope people get what I'm going for here lol

Connor: Remus (sorry Remus stans! But this story requires ANGST)

Connor's mom: Patton

Dear Evan Hanson Sander Sides AU ideas:

Roman is Evan Hanson

Janus is Conor Murphy

Remus is Jared (but is Roman's brother and they pretend to not know each other until what happens)

Virgil is Zoe Murphy

Emile is Alana

Logan is Connor's dad

The story is almost the same as the musical

After Janus dies from suicide and a letter is found in his pocket that is addressed to Roman, everyone assumes that Janus knew Roman

Roman was the outcasted theater geek that showed up at school one day in a cast and has been crushing hard on Virgil Murphy for as long as he can remember. His therapist assigned him to write letters to himself as a coping mechanism for his depression, but when one is taken by the rumored school psychopath, Janus Murphy, Roman doesn't think much of it until it's found in his pocket after a suicide.

Remus is the most popular guy at school. No one knows he has a brother and no one needs to know. As long as he can get people high, drunk, and horny he isn't worried about what Roman does. At least until his twin comes to him begging for help with writing a lot of fake emails since Remus knew this Janus guy better.

Virgil Murphy was glad when his brother died, but when some random guy shows up claiming to be his friend he starts rethinking things, especially since these emails seem suspiciously positive.

Emile Beck knew Janus from class, when they did a project together. He is always looking for an academic boost so he can afford to go to college to be a therapist, but when Janus dies from suicide Emile finds a new calling. Helping those affected by Janus' death. Through a webpage and Janus' best friend Roman.

Patton Murphy is devastated after his son's death and is ready to believe anything because his son WAS NOT A MONSTER! Meeting Roman, and reading the emails gave Patton hope as he grieves what happened but is ready to help this "Janus Project" thing if it means that fewer people will be hurt in the way his son was.

Logan is there to comfort his family after the death of his son. He himself doesn't grieve long, having not experienced emotions enough to understand. After meeting Roman he sees him as a strong individual if a bit airheaded, and wants to give him tutoring lessons. (How to break in, break in a glove textbook)

Remy is trying his best to rais his sons, but it's almost impossible to be there when there's so much money that is needed (especially since one of them has depression and needs such expensive therapy-). When he finds out what Roman did he doesn't know how to react. Except that Roman is leaving him. After everything, his SON is leaving him because some random family that he lies to is just oh so nice to him!

Janus Murphy wasn't the best person. No one knew but it was only because before being adopted he.... He went through some things and he had to protect himself, not even Roman knew, because Roman, nor Remus made that up. After dying Janus actually does stick around, originally planning to just be a ghost that'll haunt his birth parents until they die! At least until he sees what Roman is doing and how.... It could change things. Janus interferes with the plan to make sure that the "Janus Project" actually helps people.

Imagine: Virgil singing words fail when Thomas found out about him being a dark side and a fight broke out . I feel like the others already knew but if they didn’t he could also sing it to them.

Deceit singing So Big/ So small to some other dark sides when Virgil left or maybe Another dark side who was close to Virgil left and Deceit looked after him.

Like I didn't even have the story down properly but it was basically me reordering the songs from DEH to make a story for Sanders Sides about Virgil and the dark sides and light sides and the whole journey they all went though with prinxiety and angst and fluff and Virgil being amazing and Deceit being a good mum to Virgil and Remus being a great wingman in his own way and jeez I love that au so much but I can't make a whole ass animation of AN HOUR AND 20 MINUTES OF MUSIC -

If anyone would watch it let me know because if even one person wants it I will FUCKIN ATTEMPT-

Favorite thing about them: Despite all the many things to hate about him, you can't deny that the man has charisma. He's seductive, of course, but also exuberant, clever, witty, full of zest for life, resilient and unstoppable until the end, and courageous even in the face of hell. It's no wonder that in the world of the opera he's won over so many women, or that in the real world so many men hero-worship him, despite his appalling actions.

Least favorite thing about them: Just a few minor things. He rapes women, seduces and abandons them, chases after other men's wives and fiancées, bullies and endangers his servant, beats up Masetto, kills the Commendatore... but nothing more than that.

Three things I have in common with them:

*I enjoy good food, drink and parties.

*I crave freedom.

*I don't have much reverence for traditional Christian values. (The actual values Jesus taught, yes, but the church's, no.)

Three things I don’t have in common with them:

*I'm not male.

*I'm nowhere near as... um... amorously experienced as he is.

*I actually respect and empathize with other people.

brOTP: Leporello. Their relationship is a dysfunctional mess, but they'd be incomplete without each other.

OTP: I agree with @ariel-seagull-wings that he loves no one but himself.

Although in Claus Guth's 2008 production that had the Don slowly dying of a gunshot wound and Leporello caring for him throughout, I'll admit I was tempted to ship him with Leporello because of the surprisingly tender moments they shared.

nOTP: Any woman.

Random headcanon: One of his conquests was a Romani woman whom he impregnated, and as a result, he became the great-great-grandfather of Carmen. Both characters live in Seville, after all, and she definitely shares some of his spirit and charisma. (Although she's more honest than he could ever be.)

Unpopular opinion: I don't know if this is opinion is unpopular in general, but it's definitely unpopular with many male stage directors and commentators who have written about the opera. Even with some I respect like the late Sir Peter Hall, who described Don Giovanni as an Enlightenment hero.

He's not a hero. He's not a symbol of the Enlightenment, rebelling against the stodgy, oppressive forces of religion and conventional morality. He's just the opposite of that – he's a member of the ancient regime who uses his power, status and wealth to indulge himself at others' expense. Yes, he proclaims "Long live liberty!" and mingles with nobles and peasants alike, but only so he can exploit and abuse them all equally. And while a part of me does admire his courage as he defies the Stone Guest to the end, just consider what his lack of repentance means! He's not like Carmen asserting her right to love only whom she chooses and not be possessed by any man against her will; he's asserting that he'd rather burn in hell than stop raping and abandoning women! There's no possible way to view him as a good guy.
