In your opinion, what kind of relationship would Davos Seaworth and “The Reader” Rodrik Harlaw have? Would they be buddies or nah?

Despite being decent people involved in the sea and who have lost sons fighting for their king, Rodrik and Davos have some fundamental differences that I think it would be hard for them to be friends. There’s the superficial difference of Davos finding it difficult to read and Rodrik having a whole tower of books and facing some mockery by other ironborn for always reading, which means it would be hard to find common ground at first (Rodrik and Pylos May get along better). But beyond that is their reactions toward losing their sons in the rebellion. Rodrik was against Balon’s rebellion in the first place, lost both his sons in the fighting, advised peace with Asha, is skeptical over Euron’s claims and gains in the reach; meanwhile Davos is Stannis’ #1 fan (affectionate), supports his claim as rightful king fully (if not his supporters or some of his ideas), while mourning his sons believed they died for a good cause, and is still putting his duty to Stannis over his family. Rodrik, if he’d been in Davos’ place, probably would’ve abandoned Stannis’ cause to go home once Salla offered (believing him fully defeated), and Davos probably wouldn’t have been in Rodrik’s place (he believes in Stannis or at least the man he was as the rightful, just king) since the Greyjoys wouldn’t give him a reason for him to owe them undying loyalty. But their differences in philosophy as well as demeanor—sure, Davos is friends with the fair weather Salladhor Saan, but they have a shared history as smugglers—as well as class make me think they wouldn’t be friends.

I have this headcanon for Game of Thrones — canon-compliant and AU/fix-it — that Davos Seaworth basically becomes everyone’s surrogate grandpa.

Need a sympathetic shoulder to cry on? Davos has it.

Someone had a baby? They receive a rattle/teether that he’s carved for them.

There’s always at least one kid at the Red Keep, running around, swinging a toy sword Davos made for them.

Getting married and you need a parental person? He’s already written a lovely, heartfelt toast for the feast.

After a couple of years, no one finds it strange to see a knot of children bellowing sea shanties at the top of their lungs. Davos can usually be found enthusiastically applauding them, while wiping a tear from the corner of his eye.

A/N: This is my first time writing Davos, so I hope it doesn’t feel too OOC.

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Davos is very affectionate but also very respectful, a gentleman through and through. He tends to avoid over-the-top public displays of affection, maybe only giving you quick, shy kisses to the cheek, forehead, or top of your hand, or a warm hug when greeting you or saying goodbye. He might push back a loose strand of your hair or place his hand on top of yours as you sit beside each other.

Publicly, he shows his affection for you primarily through words. An unending stream of compliments and respect for you always comes out of his mouth, never a bad word to say when you become the topic of conversation. He’s very sweet. He teases you a lot, but never anything that could be considered malicious — only good-natured banter. He loves to see you smile and laugh, and it especially warms his heart when he’s the cause for it. Around you, he lights up. His love and affection for you is clear to anyone.

Davos also publicly shows his affection for you through acts of service. He is thoughtful and chivalrous. He will help you on and off your horse or offer you the clack off his back when it’s cold out. He’d personally escort you to ensure your safety, often offering you his arm for you to take. If you were traveling and food rations were a concern, he would always make sure you were fed before him. Everything he would do, he’d do for you. He would work hard to try and secure a better future for you. He thinks you deserve the world and he’s going to try his hardest to give you what he can even though he tells himself it’ll never be as much as you deserve. 

In private, he is just as gentlemanly towards you as he is in public. None of it is for show. He just genuinely respects and loves you. Even alone, however, he is still a little bashful about being more physically affectionate with you. Though he normally is unfazed by the demeaning things highborns say about him concerning his lowborn upbringing, he is more insecure about it around you. He’s afraid that you’re settling for him and that you may be holding yourself back from better prospects with a more respected lord or lady with more money, land, and power by settling for him. Especially towards the beginning of your relationship, he would be unsure if you actually felt the same about him as he did about you, so he would tread carefully, paying close attention to how you react to him and if you seem open to his advances before pushing any further. 

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

World’s most loyal best friend! Davos defends you with his words and even his actions if the need arises. He is very empathetic and compassionate, as well as a wonderful listener. He would always offer you sound advice that was both compassionate and practical. He’d be your right-hand man — both figuratively and literally because he’s always by your side. Whenever you need your spirits bolstered or your confidence boosted, he’s your hype-man. He helps pick you up when you’re feeling down. Davos’s sense of humor also makes him even more of a joy to be around. He’s a fun person to have a drink (or two or three) with, swapping tales and playful bantering.

Your friendship with Davos would start when he noticed what a kind and compassionate person you were when you interacted with others, particularly with people who were normally social outcasts. He’d be drawn to you and know right away that you were someone he wanted to connect with.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

Davos gets so much comfort and relief from feeling you close to him, safe in his arms. His favorite part of the day is always returning back to your shared chambers to unwind, talk, and snuggle. In less intimate moments alone, the two of you will often lay side-by-side in bed, the lengths of your bodies touching as you both tilt your head inwards so they’re resting against each other, usually while holding hands and discussing the day’s events. In more intimate moments, usually when you’re ready to end the day together, your cuddles tend to feature more embracing. He particularly likes to be the big spoon or hold you in his arms. Both of you will also often take turns where one of you lays on their back while the other snuggles into them and rests their head on the first person’s chest as it would rise and fall with their breath, feeling their heart beat.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

Davos is a man of duty and honor, and he goes where duty calls. If he were in a position where he had the opportunity to settle down, he’d love to do so with you. He fantasizes about the two of you together in a cozy little cottage on the outskirts of a quaint village, and maybe even with some children and a dog or two. He would love to start a family with you.

In terms of cooking and cleaning, he’s alright. His meals aren’t gourmet, but he can produce something edible. Growing up in Flea Bottom, he’s had to make do with very little from an early age, so he’s quite resourceful and can make meager food supplies spread further than you may expect. He’s not the neatest but not outlandishly messy either. You’d always scold him for leaving his dirty boots haphazardly kicked off by the door where anyone could trip over them. 

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

If Davos had to break up with you, he’d be quite gentle and sad about it. He’d struggle to get through that conversation because he’d get choked up and would shed some tears. It’d be his absolute last resort. He takes his commitments very seriously, and he’d try everything to repair your relationship before calling it quits.

F = Fiancé(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

He’s a loyal and committed man, and he is willing to commit very quickly to someone he loves and truly believes in. He wouldn’t want to scare you off though or push you into something before you were ready, but the moment you indicated that you were ready for marriage, he would propose if he knew in his heart that you were the one.

The only apprehension that he would have in regards to getting married to you is that he feels you could do better than him and he wouldn’t want to hold you back from a better life with someone who could provide you with more. However, the more you’d reassure him that you love him and want only him, the more his insecurities would melt away.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

In every sense, Davos is a very gentle man. He’s not cruel or harsh with his words or actions. In a world of fakers and schemers, Davos is a genuinely good and kind man. He sees the good in people, even those who may not receive a lot of kindness or respect from society in general, and he treats them with respect. It warms your heart that the more you get to know Davos, you learn that his kindness is not an act that he puts on for political gain. He really is just a compassionate man.

Even if he’s telling you a hard truth or something difficult, Davos does it in a way that doesn’t feel like he’s attacking you. He’s very good with his words and is effective at getting to the heart of a matter while also being mindful of your feelings and how he’s delivering his words.

Physically, Davos is gentle too. He would never want to overstep his boundaries. He’s very respectful of you and your boundaries. His adoration for you can be felt when he touches you. In every touch, there is a lot of gentleness and reverence. It’s almost as if he’s afraid to tarnish you.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

Davos quite likes hugs, and he’ll hug you whenever it feels appropriate or like he could justify it. This usually means whenever he greets you or says goodbye, or during any moments that are happy and lighthearted, or when you need comforting during sad or scary moments. He gives lovely hugs, ones where he draws you in close and you feel secure, his arms holding you tightly yet tenderly. You can really feel the affection in his embrace. During a hug, he’d often kiss you lightly on your cheek, forehead, or the top of your head (depending on your height). Many times, Davos would be reluctant to let go of you completely, so he’d still try to be touching you in some respect after pulling apart, whether that means holding hands, linking arms, or him resting his hand in the middle of your back as you stood by each other’s side.

Under more formal circumstances, he might not feel it appropriate for hugs and would instead greet you, comfort you, or say goodbye to you by grabbing your hand and giving it a tender squeeze.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

Davos tells you that he loves you much later than he begins to feel it. He falls in love with you pretty fast, but he’s afraid of going too fast and scaring you off before you’re ready or in case you don’t feel the same.

Before he leaves for a long and potentially dangerous trip, he would have a tender moment alone with you, reassuring you that he’ll be safe and that he’ll return to you. “I love you” would slip out of his mouth in this moment. He’d instantly go red and couldn’t make eye contact with you, embarrassed with himself for letting it slip. He’d be relieved when you’d take his face in your hands, make him look at you, and tell him you love him too before kissing him.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

He does get a bit jealous, especially seeing younger men flirt with you. He would try to brush it off by making humorous comments about them, but deep down he’d feel insecure and would fear you leaving him for someone younger or more handsome.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

Davos’s kisses are tender and loving. In public, he would occasionally give you a quick and tender peck on the lips, cheek, forehead, or the backs of your hands. In private, he would still generally be gentle with you and take things slow, and so he would be pleasantly surprised whenever you’d instigate something deeper and more demanding, like your lips desperately claiming his or when you would snake your tongue past his lips to explore his mouth. He’d be flattered that you seemed to want him so badly. 

He loved kissing you everywhere, but one of his favorite things would be for him to press his lips against your chest near your heart and before then taking your hand in his and placing it flat against your chest where he just kissed you. The first time he did it, you chuckled and asked him what he was doing. He smiled bashfully and said that he was sealing his kiss so you’d always have it. This became a routine you would do every night before bed.

Davos has lived a hard life and has many scars to prove it. It would always make his heart flutter when you would press your lips gently against the scars that littered his body, almost as if you were recognizing, accepting, and honoring his less-than-glamorous past.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

Davos is wonderful with kids. He treats them with kindness and respect. Instead of brushing them aside and ignoring them, he treats them specially, actually considerate of their feelings and treating their thoughts as important. Davos would be very fun and sweet with kids, and they adore him too. Every time he interacts with children, you can’t help but to think about what a wonderful father he would be.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

He has to wake up early each morning for all of the business he must attend to, and he tries not to wake you up, though you do tend to stir from all of the noise and clattering he accidentally makes as he gets ready in the morning. Before leaving, he kisses you sweetly and whispers, “I’ll see you later, my love,” in your ear.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

His favorite part of the day is being able to relax alone with you in your chambers; however, before that can happen, he must get through the lessons of you teaching him how to read and write. After the lessons are done, the two of you relax, cuddle, and chat, or maybe share a bath together.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

Davos is pretty open. He has a lot of stories to tell. He’s not ashamed of his background and not afraid to tell you about his experiences growing up in Flea Bottom, becoming a sailor and smuggler, etc. 

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

Generally Davos is patient and can tolerate quite a bit, but does have pretty solid morals and he will not stand having them violated. He particularly can’t stand others being harmed needlessly or when people don’t value human life. Even when angered, he’d do a fairly good job at keeping his composure and trying to work through an issue in a measured and constructive way.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

He remembers a lot about you, even seemingly useless things. Because of this, almost everything makes him think about you in some way, particularly when the two of you have been separated because he’s away for business. The waves on the sea make him think about the way your clothes rustle when you walk. When someone hands him a loaf of bread, he thinks about how you prefer your bread to be sliced thickly. Sometimes he’ll meet a person and think of you because they have the same first name as one of your family members. One time he got you a trinket in the shape of a deer that he came across by chance in a market because it reminded him of a story you once told him about the time you came face-to-face with a fawn as a child. It would always surprise you just how much he was actually listening to you. 

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

His favorite moment in your relationship would be your wedding. It would be a very small affair with only a few of the most important people in your lives in attendance, and everything about that day felt perfect. The way you looked into his eyes with pure affection and swore to the old gods and the new that you were committed to him for the rest of your life made him melt. He couldn’t wait to start this new chapter in your lives together.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

Davos would do everything in his power to protect and defend you, verbally or physically. He would stand with you through thick and thin, and he would have harsh words for anyone who had something bad to say about you. Although Davos is not a particularly skilled fighter, he would protect you with his life and would put himself in the middle of anyone or anything threatening you, even if it puts his own safety in jeopardy.

He wouldn’t want you to endanger yourself for him. It would stress him out seeing you putting yourself in danger to protect him because he strives to protect you. Also, he is pretty good at letting highborns’ nasty comments about him roll off his back, but his heart swells whenever you defend him and stress how he’s the most loyal man you have ever met. It fills him with pride knowing that you think so highly of him.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

Davos would put as much effort as possible into your relationship or special events or gifts, even with limited resources. He’d rather make lasting memories or give you something with a lot of sentimental value behind it rather than making it his goal to give you something with the biggest price tag. He particularly likes to give you wooden figures he whittled himself for you, or little trinkets he comes across in markets that remind him of you, or flowers he found in the wild. He would rather take a stroll with you on a beach than have a fancy, extravagant dinner. He’s usually very busy with his duties, but he always tries to make time to unwind with you every day, and he’d make sure to have special date nights alone with you whenever his schedule would allow.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

Davos is very dedicated to his work, so he’s sometimes gone for long periods of time. There could also potentially be conflicts between you and his duties. Although you are absolutely a high priority to him, sometimes he has to choose his work over you, even if he’d rather be with you. He’s sometimes insecure about his background, particularly his illiteracy, his missing fingers, and how he doesn’t have quite as much to offer as lords and ladies of more established houses. He also can be so focused on you, your needs, and his work that he tends to neglect taking care of himself and his own needs.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

Davos is not very vain, though he does sometimes have insecurities about his appearance. He’s afraid that you might think he’s too old, especially compared to some of the much younger folks who flirt with you.

He’d also be afraid that you’d be turned off by his hand missing fingers. Normally he wouldn’t mind too much about his missing finger joints. He doesn’t resent Stannis at all for cutting them off and views it as a just punishment for his crimes. However, he would be a little insecure about them around you at first because he feared that you’d find the missing fingers off-putting. In the early stages of your relationship, he’d often try to avoid having you look at them by covering them with gloves, or he would be extra careful to only offer you the hand with all of his fingers intact. However, as the two of you became more comfortable with one another and you reassured him that you were perfectly fine with his hand the way it was, he would hide it less and stop worrying about it as much.

In terms of his clothes, he’d focus more on practicality than how expensive and fashionable he looked.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

He’d feel like a part of him would be missing without you. Although he is motivated by the idea of serving a just leader and creating a better world, he’s made a vow to himself that he would do everything in his power to forge a better life for the two of you together. The world would still go on without you in his life and he would have to go on with it, but his world would be much more dull and colorless.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

Before the two of you were officially together, he would jump at any opportunity to be around you. If there was news or a scroll that needed to be delivered to you, he would be the one who’d offer to go to your private bedchambers to deliver it to you personally because he would like to see you and then stick around and chat for a bit. He thought he was being crafty and inconspicuous, but Stannis always knew what he was doing. Everyone did. His crush on you was clear to everyone.

Davos’s illiteracy would be a point of embarrassment to him. He would feel honored when you offered to teach him how to read and write, and he would put a lot of effort into your lessons because he wanted you to be proud of his progress. However, he’d often get overwhelmed by you being so close to him during his lessons that sometimes he’d get nervous and goof up.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

Davos can’t stand people who are cruel or lack empathy. He wouldn’t get along well with someone who cares solely about status and power but not about other people.

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)

Davos is a heavy sleeper. He tends to snore loudly and mumble in his sleep. When he’s sleeping, he has a tendency to yank furs over to his side when he rolls over, so it’d probably be a good idea to use separate furs while you slept instead of sharing one large one.

So I like to HC that she's just a few years younger than Stannis, and never married because Stannis and Robert are overprotective the rebellion broke out and then once Robert ascended to the throne, she was too politically important to marry off. It steamed a lot of Houses that Robert refused to give her to anyone.

I'm borrowing a lot from this Baratheon!Reader x Davos fic I wrote, but she's always been closest to Stannis bc he basically raised her. She sided with him during the War of the Five Kings and tried desperately to get him and Renly to work together, but it failed.

But let's rewind a bit! She assisted Stannis during the siege at Storm's End, starving and helping the men alongside him. When Davos first met her, he really thought she was a girl. She was near death but still holding little Renly tight, insisting he be fed first.

The next he sees her, it's two weeks later. His fingers are still bandaged and healing. She still looks terribly weak, but she uses all her strength to walk up to him, give him a huge hug and a kiss on the cheek. "You saved our lives, Ser," She means it, and Davos is so flustered.

He stays close to Storm's End, working as Stannis' right hand man, so he sees a lot of her. He learns she's hard-headed, vivacious and incredibly friendly. It's amusing to see her back and forth with Stannis. They're total opposites but they get along easily and even tease in their own way. It's so different from how Stannis interacts with Robert and Renly.

Davos will absolutely push his crush down as faaaar as possible. There is no way in any circumstance it would work out, he thinks. It would be disrespectful to Stannis, their stations are too different - I mean, she's a princess. He may be a knight, but to all of the Houses and their knights, he's just an upjumped smuggler with a damaged hand.

It doesn't help that she's so kind, though. She genuinely wants to get to know Davos, learn about his adventures and travels. She speaks to him like she would any other good knight, and she openly defends him anytime she hears rude whispers and rumors. Who would speak out of turn against the Princess, and Robert's favorite?

(Generally she has a great amount of power, even compared to Cersei, so she's able to speak with whom she wants).

This leads to her asking Davos to take her out on a ship one day. Just for a small journey! Just to Dorne! She has to visit the Martells for a diplomatic gathering. Stannis hates her going on ships, and it would ease his nerves if his most trusted knight accompanied her... And Davos will accompany his Princess, won't he?

How is he supposed to say no to that? She doesn't play fair at all...

They actually spend quite a bit of time together because Stannis trusts him so implicitly, and that makes Davos feel awful about his feelings. They probably started a secret relationship and it just tears him up, but she doesn't plan to keep it so. At least from Stannis; she doesn't want to lie to him, either.

Honestly, Stannis would be pissed and conflicted at first. He was raised with the idea of dutiful, political matches where feelings have no place. In the books he makes Davos a lord, but even then, he's a minor lord. The ramifications of a minor lord marrying a Baratheon Princess is just too much.

"Then it will be a secret, brother," She states simply. And of course Stannis isn't happy with that. He'll steam and sulk for a while, it'll be rocky, but eventually he'll come around. He's just concerned about her and her reputation, even if she's a grown-ass woman.

"If you displease or dishonor her, Davos, I'll cut your whole hand." "If I did such terrible things, m'lord, I'd ask you to take both my hands."

Davos and Sandor having to interact constantly because their adoptive children have inherited a kingdom would be hilarious. Sandor glaring threateningly at anyone who has a problem with Arya taking over the training of the guards/small folk. Davos trying to drag Gendry out of the forge because he needs to practice his letters and can’t just “let Arya make all the decisions, I don’t care if she has better judgement, Lad, you have to at least pretend like you’re the Lord Paramount of the Stormlands”.

Davos and Sandor become grandparents when Arya and Gendry start adopting orphans left right and center. Davos and Sandor getting drunk together after their idiot children almost cause a political incident. Davos and Sandor being too old for this shit but refusing to retire because parents just don’t do that.

But also:

Sandor threatening to shove his sword up the ass of some stupid lord who talks shit about Gendry being the Lord of Storm’s End. Davos reassuring Arya when she has moments of insecurity about her ability to parent. Sandor and Davos being proud parents when the Stormlands finally begins to flourish and everyone benefits from it, not just the nobles.

Anyways, idk. i’m never going to really flesh this out much but i’d enjoy hearing any headcanons about this verse that you might come up with :) i’m also unsure about Willas and Doran, but idk who else would rule Dorne and Highgarden respectively. Who would I choose?

Gendrya wedding headcanon...

So I’ve been imagining (and spending way too much time thinking about) Arya and Gendry getting married.

They are endgame, we all believe that, and I do see a wedding in their future at some point in their lives.

May come after living together, may come after having children together - let’s face it, these two will do things however they want. And I'll be writing at least one version of it in my series for them before it's done.

But I do think that night will come.

And one thing is definitely my headcanon now...

Based on the rites of the North, where the old gods hold sway and there are no priests, I think the ceremony is usually conducted by the head of the groom’s House.

Gendry is already head of House Baratheon - so for me there’s only one option...

The Onion Knight, Ser Davos Seaworth himself. Who else could they choose!!

He’d be there, at the heart of the ceremony, when his boy marries the woman he’s loved for years. How happy will he be on that night! Maybe a lump in his throat at the crucial moment, a tear in the corner of his eye, so proud of his adopted son...

Davos in Storm's End annoying both Gendry and Arya by calling them "my lord" and "my lady" all the time, even after being told repeatedly to stop.

(he does it on purpose because he's such a dad! He likes to exasperate his son and his daughter in law!)

Would Davos Seaworth and Justin Massey have had much of a relationship and what do you think their interactions at Stannis’ court on Dragonstone would have looked like? Will the two ever interact on page, in your opinion?

Well, Justin Massey was Robert’s squire whose ancestral lands were under his personal demesne (the Crownlands), whereas Davos Seaworth is Stannis’ adviser with a keep on Cape Wrath (the Stormlands), and the enmity between Stannis and Robert was clear, so I don’t know if they’d be close during that time. Davos is also insecure about his common-born status, and there’s only a few of Stannis’ men he singles out as being kinder than most to him (Pylos, Cressen, Andrew Estermont, Rolland Storm, Gerald Gower, Axell Florent until GRRM forgot); and Justin, young, handsome, highborn (until he was deposed of ancestral lands), likes to joke around, looking to marry some heiress, a convert of Rhllor who believes Melisandre brings Stannis luck, is probably not going to give Davos much more than a second glance except in emergency. For instance, he advised the retreat to Dragonstone after the battle seemed lost, and is voicing frustration over a siege in the snow and admits he’d rather live (though his predictions about the Dreadfort and Deepwood were wrong); so maybe it’s possible they’d band together to convince Stannis to exercise some caution and not go full Rhllor burning useful men alive. However, since Davos is sailing to Skagos and collect Osha and Rickon, and Justin is sailing to Braavos to escort Tycho Nestoris, it doesn’t seem likely they’d cross paths anytime soon. It’s possible by the time Justin returns North, Stannis’ cause will be lost, and then what’s going to happen to his ambitions to gain a lordship?

After, Tyrion bangs the bricks a couple more times and cries for a few minutes, Jaime lets out a huge gasp of air. Jaime is alive.

This headcanon gets a bit graphic/dark, just so you're warned.

He's coughing and groaning. Tyrion almost shits himself. Now, the gears in Tyrion's brain finally begin to turn and he tells his brother to remain as quiet and as still as possible. Tyrion runs off to find Davos. While making their way back under the Red Keep, they find a badly burnt body of Lannister soldier which Tyrion requests to take with them.

Once down there, Tyrion pleads with Davos to smuggle Jaime out of KL to Storm's End. Davos agrees knowing what the Dragon Queen would do if she knew Jaime was still alive. Davos is sick of the killing. He also offers to take Tyrion too. Tyrion refuses knowing that Daenerys will be out for blood if he abandons her. Gendry hasn't moved in yet and Davos know the place inside and out. Jaime's passing out from the loss of blood and can only just stand with Davos holding him up but still is breathing shallowly. Before they depart, Tyrion takes that damn gold hand off Jaime and take a dagger from Davos. Davos takes Jaime away. That why we don't see Davos until the dragonpit scene.

Back to Tyrion, he's left with Cersei's body, a body of a Lannister soldier and Jaime's golden hand. He reaches down and pressed his fingers to her neck and there is no pulse and her body is cold. In order to protect Jaime and keep his survival a secret, he cuts of whatever remained of the soldier's right hand and attached the golden hand. Then Tyrion positions the body as though "Jaime" did not reach Cersei in time and died from the burns. He also burns melts the golden hand a little for good measure. Then Tyrion leaves to confront his queen.

dumb modern headcanon: 1) shireen really gets into disney movies 2) shireen watches aladdin 3) stannis has to explain to a six years old how social classes work and why it's bad 4) shireen gets upset (esp bc they are upper class, so the bad guys) 5) stannis makes her watch robin hood so it cheers her up and shows her that we can fight the system 6) shireen announces at dinner that stannis has to marry davos so davos can be a prince like he deserves and fight the system (1/2)

(2/2) BONUS: stannis shows shireen the hunchback of notre dame to show her that you can fight the system anyway. It backfires, because shireen has seen pictures of davos at protests so he's clearly Esmeralda and according to the movie nice people deserve nice things and marriages are nice. Stannis eventually agrees. (Davos spends five minutes contemplating Stannis as Phoebus and dies laughing)

Westeros PTA Head canons:

Olenna Tyrell is president. No one can tell if its because she enjoys the position or because she enjoys making Cersie angry. 

Davos is PTA vice-president

Cersie is treasurer 

The bake sale tends to be hard battles . Olenna will spend a huge amount of money on a gourmet chef from across the narrow sea and Cersie will make it her mission to find the best baker who works for her father. 

Catelyn usually makes lemon cakes though sometimes she’ll do something different, either way hers are always home made. 

Bake sales are battles, but school dances are all out warfare. From what snacks to be served to the DJ everything is a struggle. 

Davos and Catelyn get things done behind Cersie and Olenna’s backs
