55 years ago today Sesame Street premiered on television!!!

Happy anniversary!!! Thank you for giving so many children a headstart in life with so many joyful memories!!! Many thanks to the wonderful cast members who are no longer around with us but are in our hearts & in Sesame Street in the sky!!! I know Sesame Street will keep those old episodes forever, for historical sake & won’t let those treasure memories disappear!!! Single handedly the best television program for kids EVER!!! Generations of families, including my own, learned many perspectives in a gentle & straightforward manner on this program!!! Not just academic, but more important socially!!! I will forever be grateful!!! Happy Sesame Street Day!!!

i see a lot of people praising george and jayden (which, fair, they did amazing) but can we take a minute to praise yuyu kitamura (played niko), kassius nelson (played crystal), ruth connell (played night nurse), jenn lyon (played esther), joshua colley (played monty), lucas gage (played TCK/thomas), briana cuoco (played jenny), david iacono (played david), etc? i especially haven't seen any praise for gabriel drake, who played simon and absolutely nailed it and crushed so many of our hearts with the question simon asks edwin. i see so many people talking about it but not a lot of praise for these tough scenes. so many of these actors haven't had roles up until now and i think the casting is fantastic in that regard, but i'd love to see some praise for the smaller roles as well. get these people some other roles by praising them !!
