Darius, he finds, is a man of perplexing mind, body, and spirit. The same man that coldly executes his traitors is the same man with tears in his eyes when Daniel emerges from the den, that hauls him into an embrace so crushing Daniel thinks he’ll go to God that day anyway.

Darius is not a fool, but he wields honesty and sincerity as sharp as a blade, never steps away from his convictions while also allowing room for redefinition. He tears down all of Daniel’s misgivings and years of disillusionment and pain, to make room for hope in a future.

Darius is not a perfect man. But to Daniel, he is a miracle.

One that gives him many headaches.

“How has no one ever told you how breathtakingly beautiful you are?”

And one that reminds him he is far, far too old for this.

The other facet of Darius that gives Daniel constant pause and constant rumination, is how he uses his emotions. He is neither detached from them nor a slave to them. He carries them openly, not worn as an armor or exposed as a weakness, but instead carried like a tool, honed finely to use for any conquest to the answers he seeks.

So yes, Daniel is aware that while Darius means this compliment, he is goading Daniel for a specific response.

Daniel clears his throat—ignores that Darius poorly hides a smile behind his hand—and fans out a roll of parchment to look over the records with the king.

“I know I say it often.” Darius tilts his head to rest it in his fist. “Yet you always deflect and hide away from it. I cannot tell if this is aversion or if no one has ever paid you due compliment for how radiant you are. If it’s the former, I shall stop. If it’s the latter, then I must continue to rectify this at all opportunities.”

Usually Daniel would deflect, though not when Darius calls him out on it. He’s long grown out of blushing. So he rubs at the tension between his brows with a sigh.

“Don’t make such flagrant assumptions with no evidence to back them, my king,” Daniel replies, with his most level advisory tone he can muster. “I was a young man once. You are not the first.”

He doesn’t know why he entertains this, but he does know it makes his heart race when Darius’s eyes light up with intrigue. Lord help him.

“Oh? Pray tell, who?”

Daniel rolls his eyes up and slowly counts to three. “Just about all the royal courts I’ve served when not trying to kill me.”

Darius’s brows predictably raise. He is quiet for a moment, schooling his reaction that Daniel wishes he would read. “I see.”

His mouth turns, a fine line of contemplation, and then asks, “Were there advances?

Of course there were. He wonders where this will go, if Darius will rear jealousy or pride over just how many have made a point to break Daniel down into his features and not his heart.

“Dare I answer that?”

Darius’s mouth tightens. “Was their reciprocity in those advances?”

No.

Daniel looks away. “I remember being summoned here for taxes, King Darius.”

Darius hums softly.

“I apologize for overstepping. I never intended to open old wounds.”

He is so disarming, his ability to reach past ever defense and seek Daniel exactly for what he is. His sheer strength and respect for another’s state of being will always rattle him to the core. Daniel looks back to him.

“It’s alright.”

Darius studies him, unwilling to break from their eye-contact and Daniel finds himself accidentally caught in the thousands of ruminations flickering in those warm eyes.

Darius sighs and straightens up. He leans across the table, palm fanning out of the parchment so that his fingertips brush the side of Daniel’s palm.

“As it stands,” Darius murmurs. “I did not know you as a young man. Has anyone ever told you how you shine now?”

Daniel’s cheeks heat before he can remind them he is not a teenager anymore.

“I don’t need flattery.”

“I’m not.” Darius leans down closer and Daniel shivers at the suddenness of their shared body heat. “I also have no intention of advances.”

Darius plucks the parchment from the desk, and steps away from his space. Like the pull of gravity Daniel nearly follows the impossible force of him as he retreats.

He peeks over the paperwork with a glint like a sheer devil. Daniel’s mouth twitches. He bites.

“These bones are not made for initiation anymore,” Daniel supplies, and Darius’s eyes squint up from behind the scroll with a clear grin.

“I find your tongue more than persuasive enough.”

Oh, the lions were easier to tame.

Handmaiden - II

The last few weeks have been like a blur for you. All you remembered was being trapped in Roxanna's tent and being filled in day after day by Alexander. They seemed very excited about the prospect that you might get pregnant and that scared you more than anything.

Your body was sore these last few days, you noticed. Your breasts felt heavier and more tender to the touch and you've noticed a significant increase in your appetite recently. You knew what these signs could mean, though you desperately prayed to whatever gods were listening that it wasn't true.

But when you resigned yourself to the fact that you might be pregnant, you tried to think on the bright side. If you really were with a child, it meant that there would no longer be those nights when you would feel Alexander inside you, nor Roxanna's sweet words, words that left you more disgusted than the man inside your body.

You placed your hand on your stomach, rubbing it slowly. Maybe being pregnant isn't all bad and you could finally get rid of it all.

Resigned to this, you sat on the cot and sighed as you waited for your lovers — you weren't sure if you should call them that — to arrive. You could finally break the news and get rid of them once you gave birth, you supposed.

"What do you think, sweet girl?" You were startled when you heard Roxanna's soft voice. You swallowed and looked at her, who was wearing simpler clothes than usual.

You shook your head and muttered weakly, "N-Nothing."

Roxanna narrowed her eyes and approached you, placing her hand on your face and raising your gaze. You can't help but be mesmerized by her dark eyes. Roxanna was a very beautiful woman and there was no denying that.

She was said to be the most beautiful woman in Asia after Darius's wife. But Stateira had died years ago, so that title remained to Roxanna.

"Do not lie to me." She scolded you and lowered your face, bringing it closer to hers. She watched you for a few minutes and closed the distance between you, sealing your lips in a soft kiss that quickly became passionate.

You blushed when you felt her tongue on yours. Roxanna didn't stop kissing you, she made you lie down on the cot and got on top of you, her soft hands grabbing the ornament of your dress, a dress that had been gifted to you by Alexander.

Roxanna deepened the kiss, exploring your mouth with a mixture of tenderness and desire. You tried to relax, but the weight of everything that was happening made your body tense. When she finally pulled away, her dark eyes were filled with an emotion you couldn't completely decipher.

"You look different," She said, studying your face with an expression of concern and curiosity, "There's something you're not telling me."

You took a deep breath, trying to find the right words. "Roxanna, I.. I think I might be pregnant." Your voice came out weaker than you intended, almost a whisper.

Roxanna lit up at the news, her dark eyes shining with joy. She let out a soft laugh and wrapped you in a tight hug, "Oh, that's wonderful!" She exclaimed, kissing your face repeatedly, "You have given us such a precious gift!" She kissed your forehead, an almost maternal gesture.

You closed your eyes, trying to ignore the turmoil of emotions inside you, "Does that mean I won't have to... Go through this every night?" You asked, your voice filled with hope.

Roxanna paused for a moment, her gaze becoming more serious. "Maybe. But for now, we need to confirm. And if it's true, we'll need to take good care of you and the baby."

You nodded, accepting what seemed like your fate. Roxanna stood up from the cot and reached out to you, "Come, let's find Alexander. He needs to know this immediately."

With a resigned sigh, you accepted her hand and stood up, following her out of the tent. The camp was busy, with soldiers and servants passing from one side to the other. Each unfamiliar face seemed like a reminder of your own situation, trapped in a place where your body was not truly hers.

When you arrived at Alexander's tent, Roxanna gestured for you to wait outside while she went inside to talk to him. You could hear their hushed voices arguing, and then the imposing figure of Alexander appeared in the doorway.

He looked at you with a mixture of pride and expectation, "It is true?" He asked, his voice deep and authoritative.

You swallowed and nodded, "I think so."

Alexander smiled and walked over, placing a hand on your shoulder. "This is wonderful news," He said, "We will need a strong heir to continue our legacy."

You forced a smile, trying not to think about the uncertain future unfolding in front of you. Alexander turned to Roxanna and gave a brief wave, "Take care of her. I want her to be treated with the utmost care."

Roxanna nodded and took you back to the tent, where she began making plans to ensure you were comfortable and well fed, "We'll take care of you, sweet girl," Sshe said softly. "And our baby's."

As she spoke, you couldn't help but feel a small spark of hope. Maybe, just maybe, this baby was the key to a new life. A life where you could find a way to escape, where you could finally be free. But you should know better than to have false hope.

Alexander leaned over and kissed you on the forehead, and then on your stomach, in a loving gesture, "We need to make sure you and our child receive all the care possible. Nothing is more important right now."

After the news of your pregnancy, Alexander and Roxanna began to treat you with even greater care and devotion. Your routine changed significantly, and every aspect of your life became centered on you and your baby's well-being.

Alexander became incredibly protective. He ordered that you have the best doctors and healers available, and insisted that regular visits be made to monitor your health and that of the baby. He also had a special tent prepared, decorated with luxuries and comforts to ensure you were always relaxed and well looked after.

Furthermore, Alexander often brings you gifts: fresh fruits, fine fabrics, and delicate ornaments. He starts to visit you more frequently, not only to check on your condition, but also to talk and share tender moments. He talks with pride about the future, about the son or daughter that will come, and how that child will be the continuation of his legacy.

Roxanna, in turn, became almost motherly in her approach. She spends a lot of time by your side, making sure you are comfortable and happy. She has brought other handmaidens to care for you, prepare your favorite meals, and ensure that your diet is as nutritious as possible.

She also began sharing stories and legends about motherhood and parenting, seeking to not only calm your nerves but also create a deeper bond with you. Roxanna teaches you about baby care, and constantly massages your back and feet, relieving any discomfort.

They were excited about the prospect of having a child, after all, the child you were carrying belonged to them and not to you.

Another JWCT season 2 Kenlynn analysis because I'm obsessed and I don't know if the writers are geniuses, or if I'm getting worked up over a whole lot of nothing 😂.

So, bear with me.

Kenji's arc in season 2 is clear from the first episode: he's throwing himself at danger because of the losses he's suffered. He's broken.

But in all that sadness, he has one last glimmer of hope: Bumpy's egg.

He's the one the most attached to it, even more so than Ben. After all these losses, it's the first sign of something good happening in his life. It's the contrary of death, a birth, "someone" new he can love.

During the entire season he's the most concerned with the egg, obsessed with getting it back, almost dying for it (more on that later).

Now flashfoward to episode 8: he discovers that Brooklynn is alive.

When he finds out, he's confused, hurt, mad, shook to his core (but props to the animators, for a split second...you can see that he is just... so happy).

"She's alive?"

But the hurt and feeling of betrayal is too hard for him to grasp, so he pushes all his feelings away. He knows it's not the time.

And what does he do in order to push away his feelings about Brooklynn?

He focuses on the egg, as we established the only thing in his life which isn't tarnished or hurtful. And he desperately needs it right now, now that his whole world is crumbling down even more. This shift in his priorities is shown when he says this:

"The eggs... Brooklynn took Bumpy's egg..."

At this point, Kenji's motivations are still unclear, but this line suggests that his main goal, the thing the most important to him at this moment is the same as it was at the beggining of the season, aka getting Bumpy's egg back... not getting to Brooklynn.

So when he goes berserk, driving like a madman, running as if his life depended on it to get to Brooklynn, of course we have the feeling that he wants to see her, but he's also running to achieve his objective, which has always been to take care of Bumpy's egg, and it just so happens that Brooklynn is the one obstacle to his goal.

We can see he's desperate, but it's left to interpretation as to exactly why.

Until he finally catches up to Brooklynn.

It's Brooklynn's hand he grabbs, not the case. The thing he wanted the most is in his direct reach, yet he grabbs her hand. In this moment, he completely forgets about the egg, not even sparing it a glance, not mentionning it even once.

"Brooklynn..."

All that matters to him is that the girl he loves is there, in front of him, which he thought would never happen again.

We finally have the confirmation that the reason he was so eager to run to that airport wasn't to get the egg back, but to see her. And not to get mad at her, no, just to... get her back.

And then, Brooklynn leaves.

She leaves them, but she leaves him. It's him she looks at the last, his grasp she frees herself from, him who utters her name afterward.

They're still at the center of the scene, and the scene is a direct call back to the break-up scene (also... their colors are matching, it's like not even a little subtle, which tells me there's a reason Brooklynn wore a dark blue shirt the entire season...which is SO NOT her color).

Notice how even there, it's Ben who remembers to ask Brooklynn to give them the egg.

"Wait! Bumpy's egg... it's in that case..."

It's SO FAR from being something Kenji can focus on right now, now that Brooklynn is in front of him.

We then find out that before boarding the plane, Brooklynn has given Kenji the egg. Not Ben (who was the one who asked for it), not Darius, but Kenji.

...And Kenji looks the most heart-broken he has ever looked.

He has just gotten his hands on what he thought he wanted the most, his ultimate goal this season, the very thing he threw himself into fire for, into an ocean beaten by the storm... and yet he's not even looking at it, his eyes instead watching the plane take off with Brooklynn inside.

He's gotten what he thought he wanted, but at what price?

It's not to diminish his link to Bumpy's egg. As I've shown, he risked his life countless times for it. But it just goes to show just how much Brooklynn matters to him. In that last scene, it's made clear that the thing he wanted the most, was for her to come back to them, to him. But she didn't, and gave him the egg to make up for it, as some sort of consolation price.

But it's not, and it will never be.

I finished up work with a patient on the ward and I noticed Captain Gains arrived at the door, I tried not to let panic rise to my face given Fagin was upstairs in my room counting out the score from our last venture. But I did my best to merely act normal as he came through with his usual sit, cane and chipper smile.

"Mr Dawkins," he said,

"Doctor Dawkins," I corrected,

"A quiet word?"

"Trouble with the prostate?" I joked,

"If you could be so kind doctor," He glared,

"Yes course," I nodded,

He led me to the stock room where he sat his book and pen, "Do sit down, doctor."

I sat down trying not to look sheepish, and the more I did the more I wondered if it was actually possible. Silence sat between us for a moment and I felt as If I wanted to break it, "What uhh... what is this concerning?"

He didn't answer at first taking the time to fully extend his tongue from his mouth and lick the tip of his pen before he began his notes. "Nothing to worry about Doctor Dawkins, just a formality during our investigation,"

"What investigation?" I asked,

"I am sure you have heard about these... dreadful atrocities in port victory."

I relaxed a little, "Yes, of course. Been the talk of the town," I nodded, "Wretched, horrendous, accidents."

"Apparently not." he said, "After much investigation, we have determined these... atrocities were not accidents,"

"Not- not accidents?"

"No, we have determined in our investigation... that these were not accidents,"

"Ohh goodness..."

"And we have determined they are likely the work... of a serial killer."

"oh... I see..." I nodded, "What... does that have to do with... our conversation today?"

"It is very obvious the body's damage was caused by someone with... medical knowledge."

"Are you implying-"

"I am not implying anything doctor Dawkins," he said, "Merely asking questions,"

"Yes.. of course,"

"You wouldn't happen to have noticed any medical equipment going missing of late?"

"No, no, nothing of note."

"I see... you and Doctor Sneed are our two residents? there isn't another doctor lingering about?"

"No, Myself, Doctor Sneed and Prof. That's all," I explained,

"I see," He made a note, "Have you noticed any other changes in staff?"

"Ohh uhhh a couple of nurses retired last month and we brought in replacements,"

"Well, nothing to worry about there then. Would you be able to tell me where you were on the evening of the 17th?"

"Here." I answered, "Caring for my patients," I lied even though I was defiantly not here, I think on the 17th I was either down the cat and bagpipes stealing Darius' watch or possibly across town stealing Mrs Asterlynn's diamond necklace,

"Yes... and various nurses and patients could collaborate on that,"

"Uhhh..." I scrambled, "Unfortunately the patients from then have all passed on,"

"Pity, your nurses then?" he asked, "I'm sure one of your nurses would be able to confirm your presence that evening,"

"Hetty, my head nurse would yes." I nodded hoping to god he wouldn't call my bluff because she was currently mad at me and I got the feeling she was at the right level of throwing me under the carriage mad,

"I see... you're head nurse," He chuckled, "any others know you were here?"

"...ughhh... Yes." I lied, "The uhhh the new nurse." I said, as it suddenly hit me that the new nurse who works down in the morgue with Tim, the little one, always has pigtails, she had a day off on the 17th so she wouldn't know I wasn't here, "yes, the new nurse, she was at my side helping me all night, I was showing her the hospital and such,"

"I see, you don't mind I ask her of course. For the records."

"...No, no of course not," I lied,

"Good take me to her then," He said as he got up,

I nodded and led him down the corridor trying to think of what the hell I was gonna do, why did I say that, why didn't I have a plan, what nurse could stand me enough not to get me hung, I couldn't ask hetty she's mad, and I already called her my head nurse so he's met her before... I saw the new nurse, the one who had the day so coming up from the morgue in her usual nurse's dress, with her hair in sweet pigtail braids, well I hope to god she plays along. "Nurse," I spoke up as I don't know her name yet...

She stopped and seemed puzzled as to why I was talking to her, "Yes Doctor Dawkins?"

"Captain Gaines just wanted a word with you," I said, "About the 17th, when we were working... on the ward... together... all night..."

She looked at Captain Gaines and then at me for a second seeming confused, "I'm sorry the 17th?"

"Yes, you know nurse when you and I were working on the ward together all night, and I showed you around, we cared for patients, did some paperwork..." I lied giving her a rather pleading look almost begging her to play along,

"Oh, yes the 17th. of course." She nodded and I relaxed, "Yes of course what did you wish to ask me about Captain?"

"You can confirm Doctor Dawkins was here in the hospital that night?"

She glanced at me and we shared a look, "Yes I can,"

"Really?"

"Yes Captain I swear on my life," she said putting her hand to her chest, "Doctor Dawkins was ever so kind to me, I only just started and he took the time that evening to give me a tour and run me through some procedures. Letting me shadow him for the evening,"

"And he didn't leave your sight all evening?"

"No Captain, we worked on the patients together until dawn," She smiled,

"Yes we did, yes... never left my sight did you?" I asked,

"No, absolutely not," She smiled,

"And would there be other nurses that could confirm this?" He asked,

Ohh shit- "Ughhh well..."

"Well unfortunately," she said, "Most of our lovely nurses had already taken to bed given such a busy day, the few who were still working, I am sorry Captain but we were so busy popping around the hospital we don't recall any names of nurses still awake and I doubt they would remember us was given how short a time we were in one place,"

"Right," he made his notes,

Hum... damn she's good, I glanced over at her and she gave me an innocent little smile,

"I see, it's interesting who you two were working all evening, together, and yet not a single other nurse or patient can confirm such information,"

"Well, admittedly a lot of our work was... down in the morgue." I lied,

"Yes, down in the morgue popping up for other business of course," she smiled,

"So you were alone, in the morgue together?" he asked,

"Yes..." I nodded,

"And what work were you doing, exactly? For the records?"

"I believe that is our business Captain," she smiled her hands slipping around my arm,

I looked down at her a little confused about what she was doing but as she laid her head on my shoulder it clicked... oohhh... she's going that angle with it... smart. Certainly explains us being alone together.

"I see. Thank you. Any other questions I'll be sure to ask," He nodded folding up his notebook and heading away,

As soon as he was gone I let out a sigh, "Thank you, nurse,"

"You're welcome," she smiled, "Figured you were in a spot of bother,"

"Yeah think I was for a second..." I sighed,

"What did he want?"

"I think... he thinks I have something to do with the deaths in town,"

"I see... do you?"

"No! Of course not!" I protested, "I was just out doing... other business,"

"Understandable then," she nodded,

"What about you?"

"Humm?"

"You were gone then?"

"I was,"

"Do you... have anything to do with his?"

"Doctor Dawkins how are you insinuating such a thing," she faked protested, "No no, I had... other business too,"

"I see," I nodded, "You uhh you don't have to hold my arm anymore you know,"

"I know," she shrugged, "you're kinda comfy,"

"ohhh ughh thanks," I blushed a little, "you uhhh you're... kinda cute."

"Thank you," she giggled, "Well if you need a cover story again, you know where to find me, Doctor Dawkins," she smiled as she tapped my arm and headed off down the hall,

"Ughh yeah, wait! Ughh what's your name again?"

"Y/n!" She yelled back before turning the corner,

"Hu... Nurse Y/n," I smiled a little before I headed up to my room.

Darius & Kenji’s friendship and Brotherhood over the years, an analysis.

Kenji and Darius have one of best dynamics of the entire Jurassic franchise, their brotherhood is heart-warming, sweet, funny and sometimes painful to watch in the tv shows they're featured in. Today I will be breaking down their story of going from strangers to brothers.

Season one of jwcc: In s1 of jwcc, they start on rough patch, being polar opposites who don't get along much. Kenji catches Darius sneaking out one night and follows him, chaos ensues, they go to the raptor pen with Brooklynn and almost get attacked. They end up trouble. Darius first hears of Kenji's not so great father and takes the fall for Kenji.

They get a shared punishment, which only leads to more sneaking off and the first time Kenji saves Darius's life and the two find common ground to become friends.

For the rest of the season Kenji stops calling Darius "Kid" and sees him as a real friend, he follows Darius's lead and sometimes finds time to tease him.

At the end of the season, Kenji encourages Darius that he is a good leader and that they will stick together to survive.

Season two of jwcc

Season two follows the campers surviving and living alone on the island, Darius remains as leader and the friendship between them all grows.

Kenji continues to tease and have fun with Darius despite their situation, it may seem childish on the outside but Darius knows its Kenji's way of showing he cares by trying to cheer his friends up.

When Darius and Kenji go alone to fix the water problem in ep3 they discover the watering hole, Kenji sees the majesty in the dinosaurs Darius always sees and Darius starts his field journal.

Kenji doesn't get dinos the way Darius does but when he sees how much Darius talks about them, he encourages Darius to write his own book about them. Because he believes in him.

The rest of the season, Darius and Kenji are pretty split up due to the plot but have some moments in between, their friendship is strong at this point.

Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous hidden adventure takes place between s2 and s3 of jwcc and there are some great moments between Darius and Kenji

During the roller coaster ride, the Tarbo finds the campers and Darius realizes he still has the scent of her nest on him.

There’s a choice between abandoning the coaster to climb away or stay to jump out and wash off the smell.

If you choose for Darius to stay, Kenji will too and declares to not let Darius do it alone.

Season three of jwcc

The campers have been stranded a very long time and when trying to find a way out, they find a boat. Captain Kenji is born and so is the prank war between Kenji, Darius and Brooklynn. It's a sweet side plot in the beginning episodes that makes Darius and Kenji more like brothers.

During the penthouse episode, Kenji is overjoyed to show his friends a good time. And his growth is shown when he smashes his dad's expensive statue to save his friends.

The day is slightly tainted by the attack but at the end of it, Darius tells Kenji something he deserved to hear, that he's more than his wealth.

The season delivers more light brotherly teasing between the boys and then Kenji and Darius hit a slight rough patch when the Scorpius rex is revealed.

Darius is angry at Kenji for not doing what he asked, he can't stay angry for long and Kenji is trying his best. The season ends with them having another fall out, Kenji being angry at Darius for risking Brooklynn's life. Darius isn't completely at fault, he was following Brooklynn's orders.

Season four of jwcc

S4 is my least fav but it has some good Kenji and Darius moments

Ep1 has Darius and Kenji at each other's throats for what happened at the end of s3.

Brooklynn makes a good point here by saying Kenji is angry at Darius specifically because he will be Kenji's hardest goodbye, it hurts to get close to someone and then suddenly say goodbye to them.

But when Darius is in danger, Kenji doesn't waste a second saving his life, because at the end of the day no matter how angry he is, Kenji will always be there for him.

The rest of the season doesn't show much of their dynamic until the last episode, Kenji wants to apologize for his attitude at the beginning of the season and Darius is the first person Kenji wants to tell about his relationship with Brooklynn.

Darius is nothing but happy for them. They go against dilos together <3

The season ends on a cliff hanger with the campers and Kenji finding out Daniel Kon, Kenji's father is Kash's boss.

Season five of jwcc

Kenji learns who is his real family in s5. He's reunited with his Dad, who takes the kids in and away from Kash.

With Kenji reuniting with his dad, he wants to prove he's grown and Darius assures him he has grown from the cocky rich kid he used to be when they met.

Darius and the rest of the campers all don't trust Daniel, but Kenji does as he wants to believe the best in his father.

The team convinces Daniel not to do dino fights by showing Big Eatie reunite with her daughter, Kenji makes a comment about how cool it is that Darius can talk to a T rex.

Daniel's mind is changed. Here's where things go wrong, when Daniel continues to prioritise his business over sending six traumatized kids home.

The campers sneak out and find out what's going on and Kenji feels let down. His Dad hypes Kenji up in way he never did before and it makes Kenji feel wanted.

Because of his, Kenji betrays his friends when they try to stop Daniel's presentation by ruining their control chips used on dinos.

Daniel locks up the kids and Kenji doesn't stop him.

Darius's first response to this is to bury his feelings while everyone else vocally deals with their own.

Darius is betrayed but since it hurts too much, he'd rather focus on something he likes, ie the dinos.

It takes some time but when Darius does deal with his feelings surrounding Kenji, he's hurt.

Kenji is his friend and he feels he can't trust him again, even if he wants to someday.

Kenji follows his dad to Nublar and the first person Kenji thinks about in the penthouse is Darius.

During Kenji's time on Nublar with his father, he sees his father's true colours.

He treats Kenji like nothing more than a business partner, making him work and only complimenting him when he does something that benefits the business.

Kenji is conflicted and knows there is something wrong with the way he's been treated but doesn't want to believe it.

Kenji was treated well and loved for months by his friends and now he sees how badly he was treated by his father after knowing what love and care is supposed to feel like but he's still just a kid so it takes him some time to come to terms with that.

In one episode, Mae tells Kenji that he shouldn't have to earn his father's love with business deals or making him money.

This resembles what Darius told Kenji in s3, that Kenji didn't need to impress his friends, they already love him, because they know him.

They know he's loyal, funny, cool and brave. They love him for who he is and not because of what they do for him or how rich he is.

When Kenji and his dad return, Kenji is done with his father, he wants to make things right with the campers.

Darius doesn't forgive him right away. He's rightfully angry and isn't ready for forgiveness but lets Kenji help the fam anyway.

When fighting Daniel's men, Darius lets out his true feelings to Kenji and Kenji. Kenji used to always have Darius's back until his dad came back and Darius isn't ready to let that go yet. They still work together during this and Darius sees Kenji fighting by his side and Kenji promises to never abandon him ever again. They make up, Kenji who probably only got one hug from his dad clings to Darius because they both clearly needed it.

At the end, Kenji declares to his dad that the campers are his real family and his dad leaves without him. But Kenji knows the campers won't do that to him.

When returning to the mainland, Kenji watches his friends reunite with their families, happy for them and sad that he can't do it himself.

But then Darius waves at him and introduces him to his mother and Kenji is welcomed into their family.

Jwcc to jwct

Kenji is taken in by the Bowmans, he has two brothers, Darius and Brand.

The camp fam has weekly check ins and all is well.

Dinos come to the mainland.

Darius gets a job at the DPW

Kenji starts rock climbing in Colorado.

Kenji breaks up with Brooklynn.

Brooklynn stays with Darius

Darius realizes his feelings for Brooklynn

Brooklynn is killed

Jwct s1

Darius and Kenji in are the roughest patch of their friendship. Kenji is angry at Darius not being there for Brooklynn.

Brooklynn is gone and both brothers don't have each other to lean on during their grief.

Darius isolates himself in his grief and wants to hunt down the allosaurus.

Kenji is not speaking to Darius at all.

They are forced together when warning the group that they are being hunted. Ben and Sammy leave the brothers alone to talk to Daniel Kon.

Darius tries his best to be there for Kenji, but it's hard. Kenji isn't ready to forgive and wants to focus on what needs to be done.

Kenji also knows Darius is having trouble talking to his mother as Kenji still calls her.

They visit his Dad. Daniel Kon has no changed and is still using Kenji for business.

Aggravated by his father, Kenji vents to Darius and asks him for advice, Darius honestly tells him that Kenji shouldn't have to sacrifice the great man he's becoming for a man whose never treated him right.

Kenji believes him but agrees for the sake of finding out what happened to Brooklynn.

Then Daniel has the fucking audacity to say to Kenji "I know how you like things easy."

And Kenji, with his brother by his side declines his fathers offer and decides he still doesn't need him, they will find out what happened to Brooklynn without him. Kenji turns to leave and Darius is right there with him.

Daniel does change his mind and tells them anyway, but the good doesn't last long as Micro bangs shows up and Daniel Kon is no more <3

Kenji is traumatized and when having a breakdown, Darius is there for him. If anyone would understand what Kenji is going through, it's Darius.

This is a breaking point in the brothers relationship during the story.

Kenji discovers there is more to Darius's feelings for Brooklynn, he knows Brooklynn's phone password and is familiar with Brooklynn's old habits like leaving shoes in the middle of the floor.

When going to a drop point, it's almost like they're on good terms. Kenji's distasteful attitude for Darius has dropped and Kenji is making jokes again.

The tension is still between them, so they have nothing else to talk about except the mystery surrounding Brooklynn.

They snoop on her phone and Darius tries to hide the voicemails he left for Brooklynn.

After a fight, he gives in and shows them to Kenji. And confesses his truth to him.

Kenji is surprised and wants to know if the feelings were reciprocated, but Darius finds an unsent message from Brooklynn to him. They find a video of Brooklynn running from the allo.

Kenji now asks Darius as his brother, where he was when Brooklynn needed him. Now knowing Darius was in love with her.

The answer is on hold because of plot xx

But as the season continues, Kenji continues to make more jokes and the brothers are teasing each other again.

The brothers reunite with the camp fam and Bumpy, when it looks like Bumpy might die, Kenji puts his hand on Darius's shoulder, he's leaning on him.

After all the chaos, Darius tells Kenji the entire truth and the rift has become smaller.

The season ends with all of the camp fam on a boat

Jwct s2

Kenji and Darius don't get too much one and one screen time. But the events of the previous season are affecting Kenji a lot.

He's grieving his father and not in a healthy way. He's impulsive and risking his life.

He sets a goal, caring about Bumpy's egg. Darius even witnesses him using baby talk on the egg.

As the season goes on, Darius struggles to talk to Kenji about his issues and because of the rift between them, it makes it hard.

Darius is still getting used to having his brother back and is afraid of doing something that will cause Kenji more pain than he's already in.

But when Kenji dislocates his shoulder after being risky and impulsive again, Darius has to figure out what's wrong.

He does try and Kenji is almost tempted to talk about his feelings and current mental state but he shuts it down.

And as Paul Mikel Williams has said in an interview once, Kenji and Darius never have enough time to fully repair their relationship as they are always on the go and always busy with something.

The rest of the season shows very little of Kenji and Darius's dynamic, they both discover Brooklynn is alive and we have yet to see them interaction since that discovery.

I am so curious to see how this will effect their relationship going forward. I really hope they do make up for good and don't fall apart again.

Their brotherhood is one my favourite parts of both tv shows and it crushed me to see them drift apart in chaos theory especially after everything they went through in jwcc

Roger Barel’s PV: Initial Thoughts

After watching Roger’s PV, I have so many things to say, and no not just about Vogel. This will contain route spoilers to Ellis route, so it’ll be below the cut.

Pared Down Overall PV Synopsis: About a week into her fairytale keeper duties, Vogel visits Crown and starts stirring things up. She is acting as Roger’s assistant, and apparently there’s a warrant for his arrest. First and foremost, look at our guys. They look AMAZING as they square off with Vogel:

Sorry if the image is crappy, but oh well. Anyway, while it’s exciting to start a new chapter in IkeVil, I’m also kind of……what’s the word……not sad, but possessive (?)….. over our guys. Putting my marriage to Jude aside, I’m speaking about the guys as a whole. True, they aren’t going anywhere and it’s nice to progress towards new curses and territory, but wow, I’m feeling a little bit possessive over our guys. It’s like they are PEAK to me. They set the bar, and then these new guys roll in. I’m not quite sure how to put my finger on it. Am I crazy here or….?

A part from that, it’s nice to see Harry being featured. Apparently, Vogel is devious and obviously sus, so his ability will come on handy! I read that Nica likes money and power, potential Jude admirer, rival?

Ring is apparently Darius’ puppet. Why? Why him and not both he and his twin??

Ok, next:

We all know Roger will do anything and everything to find a way to break their curses, that includes betraying Crown. In Ellis’ route, he openly discusses their curses with Ellis’ father Matthew, and Kate is taken aback basically wondering, “Whoa, bro can you do that?!” So, it wouldn’t surprise me if he essentially betrays Crown and England while joining hands with Vogel. Which leads me to Victor. He looks hurt to me in the PV (most likely because of Roger’s betrayal if that’s the case.) Either way, we know just how much he cares about the Crown boys. And honestly, for as cheerful as he is, he is the loneliest imo. I got those vibes from him in a recent CE story where he tells Kate, he’s afraid of it all ending (his relationship with Crown). The point I’m making with that is if Roger betrays Crown and it starts to crumble inside out, Victor is essentially losing his family. And that hurts my little heart.

So much could be happening. Did he betray Kate??? Or is this the moment when he betrayed Ellis’ cursed predecessor, thus making him semi-protective of Ellis?? I’d love to know. That question has been burning in my mind since I read Ellis’ route. What were the circumstances and why did you betray that person, causing them to be shot to death??

Just some quick thoughts. Can’t wait to learn more!!

12 DAYS GUYS

And today, instead of anylysing another Yasmina and Sammy scene, we're analyzing THESE TWO BAMFs!!!

OMFG, these two I can't with these two I love them so dearly my lord. One of my favourite brother/sister relationships of all time. Their so supportive of each other and have a "sorry I just threw you down a mountain, it's how I show affection :)" relationship it's the best dynamic ISTG.

Like, I think Ben is the only other person Yaz voluntarily hugs (Not counting all the time's with Brooklyn cause those were kinda out of like "I protec u").

Like, Yaz didn't really have a strong relationship with Ben before he became "Island Ben", but when she sees him, instead of standing in shock like Brook and Kenji, she just throws herself at him (In a very "Sammy-like" manner, if I do say so myself lol). She obviously cares for this boy, even in when he was "Scared-Ben" and before their relationship really took off.

And she CONTINUES holding on to him like a lifeline for a good 7 seconds (Trust, I counted lol) AND THEN SHE FUCKING-

She pulls him in AGAIN. And Ben isn't like, akward about it at all. He just hugs her back instantly, which to me screams that there were never any romantic interest between them (Sorry to those who ship these two) and honestly shows need more of this. Like, these two are the only ones in this series...

ok I take it back, no one has shipped Ben and Brooklyn or Darius and Sammy as far as I'm concerned, but they have such limited screentime together I can see why.

They're the only well-developed and HEALTHY non-romantic duo in this series.

But like, Brook, Kenji, and Darius all had this really...weird and unexplained love triangle going on. Like I swear I wasn't the only one picking up on Brooklyn and Darius in Season 1 and 2, but then it shifts to Kenji for no real reason. Then obviously Yaz and Sammy were hinted at since the very first episode lol, but these two.

They're not even really as sibling-coded as Darius and Kenji (Yet another ship that I hope no one wanted to sail because...ew. their brothers yall. BROTHERS). They're just...different. I really don't know how to explain it. Honestly the best way I can explain it is with these two vvv

Yaz would definitely call Ben "Dingus" and make a "You Rule | You Suck" board I will die on this hill.

And Yaz obviously trusts this boy with her life. Like, when they were hiding from the robo-dogs (Oh my god, the demodogs and demogorgons of JWCC, the BRADS and BRAD-Xs) she's leaning into him.

And then they think their gonna die and this snipped right here actually breaks and heals my heart at the same time 🥹

Yaz just clings to him and hides her face in his shoulder and Ben doesn't waste a single goddamn moment before he tries to shield her as best he can.

*Raine pauses and watches again for science*

Screaming, crying, sobbing over them.

Can't find the GIF for it, but in season 5 when Ben sees Bumpy on get off the boat and makes a run for it, Yaz is the first one who notices Ben is gone. She's looking around for him before everyone else and she's the one who asks "Where's Ben". It's the little details in their relationship.

There's a whole other post I might make tomorrow on the amazing wingmanship between these two with Sammy and Ben's hilarious misunderstanding of Yaz being Kenji's wingman (Still not over that).

I love these two so much, my babies :))) There's so many moments between them that I caught on my rewatch.

Can't wait for JWCT, I miss the children so muchhhh

Ship: Sevika x reader

Synopsis: Your second day at the clinic, sevika has technical problems with her mechanical arm and we learn more about our OC’s life.

Amidst the chaos of the clinic the break room didn't earned it's name. The charged schedule don't let place to much time.

Morning was to patch up of last night's patrol, midday was body modification something the lizard women seemed to be in charge of, afternoon left place to fighter care. I didn't knew but apparently a lot of the fighter in the ring where silco's man. They bring back part of the reward to silco and if I understood right they also work for him as patrol. I'm not sure how it work but anyway money is money in the undercity.

The day start to slow down as the alarm clock indicates 8pm. I was less exhausted than yesterday but nonetheless I felt like my feet were about to falter under my weight. "Do you wanna go home?" Asked Darius with a sorry gaze. But before I could answer I remembered her words from last night. You didn't last the night. I take a breath it before straightening my back. "No I'm good!" The doctor smiled proudly at me.

I turned around as I heard shuffling. It was the lizard women taking off her brown blouse. "I will then. You don't need two healers at night. I did enough night shift for a life time." She said before grabbing her bag and leaving the room without a goodbye. I turned toward the doctor a confused look on my face. "Don't mind the lack of manner she mean well trust me." I was about to answer him when the door opened stealing both of our attention.

"Right on time." The doctor said trying to hide the glimpse of fear behind his usual smile. She barely glanced at him making her way to one of the hospital bed where she sat making the poor wheel squeak under her weight. She really has no manners, I thought to myself. The doctor nervously followed her to the bed and I followed behind to assist him like I usually did.

The tall women even sat down was half a head taller than me. Darius inspected her mechanical arm carefully. The usual purple light coursing through the metal arm stopped halfway through it around the elbow region. "It seems to be stuck." Observed the doctor. "Find a solution." She said loudly making the poor doctor's shoulders jump. "I need to look at jinx's note." He answered anxiously as I roll my eyes at the brute that was this women. If I found her intriguing before I now only found her irritating.

the doctor walked away to find the shared note book but I kept my gaze on the mechanical arm as the light reflected on something in between two pieces. I suddenly saw a little screw in the inside of her metallic elbow here was the problem it probably belonged somewhere else and fell lose inside the mechanics. Without thinking I try to reach in between the metal to grab the screw but the metal almost close around the tip of my finger pinching the delicate skin. "Ouch don't tense yourself I'm trying to help you you idiot!" I said looking at her entire body flexing away from my touch. I shake my hand before looking at my painfully red finger and sigh. Her gaze seemed even more frustrated than usual. Maybe at the fact I just talked to her so carelessly, but in the moment I didn’t even noticed I had just called silco’s right arm and idiot.

I looked back at the arm where the screw had now fell a bit deeper. "Fuck, don't move I think I can still reach it." She listened and didn't moved but looked at me with an annoyed glance. "What are you talking about." I sigh already annoyed by my previous painful attempt. I didn't though she would be so chatty all of a sudden. "A screw got loose and felt between the mechanism. Now would you stay still so we can both get out of here with all our fingers?" I froze for a second and then looked back and forth at her and her mechanic arm as I realized what I just said. "You know what I meant." I shake my head before focusing back on the task trying to hide the subtle blush creeping on my cheeks due to my thought less sentence.

As I take the screw and put it back in the rest of the arm regained it's glow. I took a step back not sure of how that mechanic work and not wanting to risk any other injuries. "Good job y/n." The doctor said putting a hand on my shoulder and I almost jumped.

Sevika looked down at her arm flexing her fist a few times to make sure it worked properly. What did she expected that I broke it? I thought fighting the urge to roll my eyes again.

As I took another step back to let the doctor take care of her I let out a breath I didn't knew I kept in. another women entered the room with a big cut across her forehead so I left Darius take care of Sevika as I went to take care of the new patient.

The clock showed half past two and me and the doctor were both slumped over uncomfortable chair in the break room. "You did good kid you should go home it's late enough." He said before looking at the clock. "When do you go home?" I asked curiously and maybe slightly worried that I never saw him leave this place in the past two days. "I close the clinic around 3" he said with heavy eyes. So it did close I started to worry it was an endless clinic. So it was 10 to 3 quite a long shift.

I stood up from my chair to go grab my bag, he said I could go, plus he would close it in 30 minutes. So I made my way towards the door ready to enjoy a good night of sleep.

My hopes ended up way too high as my sleep was filled with nightmares. Scream and fire and death all of them polluting my brain setting an unavoidable curse on my mind. When I woke up in sweat it was already half past seven. I decided that going back to sleep was useless and stretched my arms before letting out a loud yawn. The house was already filled with footsteps and feminine voices. I climbed down my bunk bed to come face to face with an empty lower bunk. Not surprised at all I exit the room to the smell of cinnamon as two teenager giggling ran down the corridor. As I made it into the kitchen there she was sitting at the table kicking her leg as she put a big spoon of cinnamon oatmeal in her mouth.

"Don't eat so fast you'll choke on it." I say playfully putting a caring hand on her head. Her big eyes sparkled as she looked up at me. She wrap her tiny arm around me. "You're back." She said against my stomach. When she let go of me I get down on my knee to be at her height. "Of course I told you I'll always be there." I said smiling at my sister.

Darius analysis of season 2

So in someone's review for the new season they mentioned that Darius wasn't really active as a character which I sort of agree on and they also said that he's trying to be social which actually got me sort of thinking. In season 1 of chaos theory it started with Darius and it was mostly focused on him grieving about Brooklyn so for season 2 I think they just wanted to move and show into more depth of the other characters and how they are dealing with their emotions with all this chaos happening.

So with Darius in season 1 he was isolated for a very long time I think because Brooklyn's death is probably like months months ago maybe it was like giving a year who knows I don't know the exact time length but given darius's encounter with the bend in episode 1 gave me the idea that he was alone for a while isolated just complete isolated even with the call with his brother it made sense to me that he talked to no one for months so he was away from society not very social and then he had to go on a car ride with Ben and they went all over and started to interact so I think in season 2 with zanya don't know if I'm spelling her name right probably not.

He tries to talk with her more even though he's awkward he is trying I think he is his little social butterfly self again it's very similar to season 1 of camp Cretaceous where he was basically locked up in his room ever since his dad died which was probably also months ago or maybe almost a year soon and his brother mentions that he never leaves his room exactly how he said he never leaves his cabin and he wasn't social and he was very awkward in the first few episodes meaning he was going back to society and trying to be social again so I think this is just another reset for Darius trying to become more social again and becoming more social means just saying anything that comes to his mind which is why I think he started blabbering about dinosaur facts again I'm not complaining I was so happy that he started talking about dinosaur facts again

because I remember on one post I said I really hope he did the dinosaur facts again I predicted it hahaha so happy that he actually started talking about dinosaur facts again. it did kind of annoy me though that Zanya sort of ruined some moments about it but I get it because she's actually also living with dinosaurs and her dad's kind of a little nerd too but when she mentioned about showing off I really don't think that was Darius showing off what he knows I think that was just him being his little social awkward self not knowing what to say and that's what he just says cuz that's what he knows best to start a conversation.

I think the whole experience in this season for him was not making sense to him in some sort of way his eyes kept giving the emotion of unsettling like he just didn't know what was going on it reminded me of season 5 of camp Cretaceous where can Kenji betrayed him and he didn't know what to do and he just shut down this is what it is really reminding me about especially in episode 8 or 9 where he found out about Ben knowing Brooklyn is alive. He just stood there and it really reminded me of when the group was fighting over Kenji who's really at fault was it his dad or him and he just stood there not giving crap but in reality in his mind he is going through all of this stuff but doesn't show it because in his mind he's also telling himself that he has to stay strong and if he breaks down then he knows he cannot help the others if he is weak

Along with the fact when he found out that Brooklyn was alive I also think that in his mind he was possibly thinking he was going crazy because after they got out of the create he started to believe that it was someone looking like her meaning he probably thought he was hallucinating from the adrenaline because it is possible sometimes too hallucinate from adrenaline and reminder he just got chased by the amazing eyeless baryonyx which I think should have more screen time so he is still pumped full of adrenaline and he probably is thinking this is the broker and a girl that looks exactly like Brooklyn and I probably going crazy yes. But later he finds out that she is not a random person that its actually Brooklyn not someone that looks like her so he's like okay I'm not crazy but I'm not okay

I also think that it's really great how they put kenjis and Darius brother relationship back it felt so good to see them being Brothers again that there was just no hatred and they are actually experiencing the most pain probably out of everyone sort of everyone is going through their own thing but I think like Brooklyn's death affected them the most in my opinion of course because they both loved Brooklyn and they both really didn't know what to do I mean they both isolated themselves they literally live in the middle of nowhere have you noticed that

So with the ending they are probably going to be talking about this a lot they are going to be processing a lot and they are going to show different ways of expressing their emotions.

Kenji is the brother that has visible emotions he shows his anger, and when he's upset he lashes out. He shows his emotions well not all emotions for example when he was sad about his father's death he tried to cover it up but I meant more as of it in anger way that he shows his emotions but for Darius he doesn't really show his emotions so one will be suppressing them like he usually does and the other will be just lashing out so for season 3 I think we're just going to possibly get a lot of Kenji outbreaks and Darius just dissociating overthinking everything that is my opinion and my prediction for season 3.

I also want to see more interaction with Darius and yazz because she went immediately to him when she knows something was wrong with Kenji I mean she's a psychology major so she will notice things wrong with people so in season 3 she's probably going to notice how Darius and Kenji were more affected and she will probably try to talk to them. Darius is easy to open up to some people I really think that there's a possibility that he is just going to straight up lie about his feelings and season 3 like I just have like this gut feeling that he's going to be like I'm fine and has a completely different expression on his face

Okay I sort of got sidetracked here but I am going to do the rest of the Nublar 6 analysis reviews

Also when did I become a therapist just analyzing everything I think that's a bit too extreme of me but I just really like to analyze characters and just give out my opinion

so there will be more characters and if there is something you want me to analyze and just talk about and by talk I mean rant I will totally do that because I absolutely love analyzing stuff and ranting about it I absolutely love it

Hiii, I'm totally a Folio girl, but that Darius pic got me thinking about you being Darius's ex but still close to him, his band and the guys because you were friends before. Folio starts liking you and he gets a huge crush on you but is terrified of Darius because he is Darius Tehrani. He is super insecure but you are super sweet and secretly into him too and the guys (Noah or something) have to reassure him that Darius is not going to destroy him or something

Nick knows that you know that he’s watching you.

He usually is.

It’s hard to look away.

He’s never acted upon that little crush he’s been harbouring on you, but he also can’t force it to go away.

The issue is your ex.

It’s not that the guy is stopping you from seeing other people or anything, he’s just – a little intimidating. He’s only really seen him on stage and a few times in passing, and what he’s seen has been enough to make him keep his distance.

He looks away just as you look towards him.

Nick really doesn’t mind that you’re still friends with your ex. It just makes making a move a little more difficult.

He’d hoped that he could use the occasion to move things into a different direction. Nick hadn’t anticipated that Noah would invite Darius – or that he’d show up with his whole band.

You’re squished in between Darius and his brother, happily chatting with them. Nick’s been waiting for his chance all evening, but it just doesn’t want to come.

He retreats into the kitchen, trying to get away from the scene.

You enter the kitchen just as he plucks a beer from the fridge.

“Can you get me one too?”

He jumps a little, obviously spooked by your sudden appearance.

You hop up on the counter, watching as he pulls a second bottle from the fridge.

“How was your tour? Did things go alright?” you ask, taking a sip from your beer.

Nick gives a quick nod, “No hiccups. Crowds were fun too.”

He remains at a safe distance, leaning against the counter opposite you.

“That’s good. I’m glad you had a good time. Are you doing anything fun while you’re on break?”

You’ve been trying your hardest to get him to crack. You know that he has at least some interest in you, but you can’t for the life of you understand why he’s not doing anything about it. As far as you’re concerned, you’ve made it clear that you’re also interested in him. You’re not sure how much more of your complaining about this your friends can take.

Nick gives a vague response about his not really fixed plans.

“So if I need help setting up that bookshelf I ordered, I could call you?” You ask, hoping that he’ll bite this time.

“I — sure, yes.” He stammers.

It’s good enough for you.

You’re not sure if it’ll actually happen, but you’re willing to be hopeful.

You hear Alex call your name from the living room, prompting you to hop off the counter again.

“I’m counting on your help now!” You say as you head back to the rest of your group.

Nick is still bracing himself on the counter when Noah finds him.

“Did you finally tell her?” He asks, coming to stand next to him.

When Nick doesn’t answer he lets out a heavy sigh, “You know that she’ll eventually get someone else right?”

“I know.”

“So what’s stopping you? You like her. She obviously likes you. Where’s the hurdle?”

“That ex of hers.”

Noah blinks at him for a moment, “Darius? What about him? He didn’t say anything, did he?”

Nick shakes his head, “I’m not about to step onto that guy's territory.”

“Territory? They’re friends Nick. Darius is a great guy.” He says with a laugh, “Have you ever even talked to him? I don’t think that he’s going to stand in the way of his friend's happiness. Even if they used to date at some point. Make your move.”

The party is slowly simmering down, and you decide to step outside for a little breather.

You’re alone for maybe five minutes before the sliding door opens again. You don’t have to check to know who is joining you.

“So when’s that bookshelf coming?” Nick asks, and you feel a little bit of warmth blooming in your chest.
